Best Korean Barbecue Restaurants Around D.C. | Eater DC

"The former Kangnam Barbeque has turned into a dark space filled with neon lights and a late-night aesthetic, by Lawrence Chen, owner of Momo’s Cafe in Palisades. The menu still includes traditional Korean barbecue, like pork cheek, beef tongue, galbi, and Angus steak. There are also fun drinks on the menu, including a soju cocktail served in a carved out half of a watermelon. It also features an affordable all-you-can-eat option that’s $21.99 for weekday lunch and $33.99 for dinner and the weekends." - Tierney Plumb

We came for lunch for our group reunion. Arrived before 12pm making sure to have a long table. It has a small area on the front and another much larger beyond the wall. There are QR code on each table for self ordering. They offer daily ramen specials for $9.90 each. It is the Curry Tonkotsu on Fridays. It came with many ingredients, and it was very tasty.

MeatUp Korean BBQ & Bar is a super cool spot. We indulged in the all you can eat Korean BBQ & the meats were awesome. I'd recommend the beef bulgogi, Hawaiian bulgogi, pineapple steak, and Galbi short rib - all were 10/10. My biggest gripe was with the grill - it does not cook the meats evenly. It was horrible, especially with thick cuts and long pieces, like the spicy pork belly. I'd stick to quick cooking meats. The drinks also were not good, sadly. Our server was patient with us as we were spoiled for choice. All the meats were brought out decently fast and the self-serve banchan bar was a unique touch.

Great experience! The dinner options come with high quality of meat and veggies. We really liked the ambience as well which made the food taste even better. Their seasonal cherry blossom themed desert was definitely a plus!

Google
We had such a great time!! Not only is the staff amazing and helpful but the whole vibe is great. I loved my cherry blossom and frozen cocktails. They have every type of protein you can think of, not to mention amazing noodle soup, and with this current economy they have great prices. You guys MUST try this place. It’s so fun and delicious!! Perfect spot for a group meal with friends for sure.

Google
The food was delicious the service was Top Notch We are first timers and unsure of what to order. The Host gave us a complete Rundown everything we ordered was delicious. The Miso Ramen chicken thighs and peach soju Beef bulgogi are now my favorites!!!!!!

If you're looking for a fun, flavorful, and interactive dining experience, MeatUp Korean BBQ & Bar hits the mark. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming—modern yet cozy, with upbeat energy and the mouthwatering aroma of sizzling meats in the air. The service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The staff took time to explain the menu and grill options, which was especially helpful for anyone new to Korean BBQ. They checked in just enough to ensure we had everything we needed while still letting us enjoy the hands-on cooking experience. Now, let’s talk food. The meat selection was top-notch—tender, well-marinated, and brought out fresh. The bulgogi and spicy pork belly were standouts, packed with flavor and cooked to perfection on the grill. The banchan (assorted side dishes) were plentiful and complemented the meal nicely, especially the kimchi and pickled radish. We also tried a few cocktails from the bar—creative, refreshing, and a perfect pairing with the smoky, savory flavors of the BBQ. What really set MeatUp apart was the vibe—great food, upbeat music, and the kind of social, shared experience that makes you want to come back with friends. It’s clear they care about both quality and creating a memorable time for guests. Overall, MeatUp Korean BBQ & Bar delivers on all fronts. Whether you're a Korean BBQ veteran or a first-timer, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

Google
The food quality and flavors have improved since its last ownership. Glad to come back again. Good prices and daily specials on the different types of the ramen. Tasty Bento boxes and Bibimbap bowls.

Google
Drinks are strong and food was great but if you want Ramen you have to sit in a whole different part of the restaurant than the Korean BBQ which I think is different...I wanted both and so since I didn't want to move my table 2xs I just said forget the Ramen...great experience though

Yelp
This place is the perfect mix of great food, fun vibes, and solid drinks. The decor is lively, the meats are top-quality, and the sides are just as good. (Pro tip: cook the corn & cheese correctly--my fiancé learned that the hard way, but hey, we still ate it! ) The cocktails are a win too--I had one with fresh pineapple on top, and it was as good as it looked. The waitlist can be a bit long, but totally worth it. If you're craving delicious KBBQ with a great atmosphere, this is the spot!

Yelp
A great KBBQ option in the area, especially the dinner/weekend option. Most of the meat quality was great, and they have daily specials. We came on a weekend ($34/per person) and opted for the additional ramen add-on ($3.50/per person), and all you can drink from a choice of 3 drinks ($10/per person). The appetizers were also included in the AYCE (takoyaki, gyoza, karaage, seafood pancake, edamame, corn cheese etc). The servings were good sizes so you can try other proteins. The ramen in my opinion was decent/average: I would only recommend it if you're craving ramen and there's nothing else in the area. One cocktail I tried was not good, and I waited for it to be watered down to be drinkable so I stuck with the Sapporo. You can only order 4 different meats at a time, and can only order with the staff. There is a self serve station of sauces and sides, including fried rice, seafood boil, fries and more. They have a small private parking lot, and there is some street parking next to the private lot. They also have K-pop music videos playing on their TVs. Their tables only hold 6 people so if you have a bigger group, you will be split up. Their menu is on a QR code.

Yelp
Absolutely not! They invested a lot in micro influencers and food photographers on IG and it shows! We believed the hype! We came for the good food and dranks! We got neither. In fact, we actually ate less than we'd dreamed of, drank little, froze half to death, and got terrible service. The food: so gross. The quality of meats are so bad. The cleanliness of the side/sauce bar was a 2/10. Japchae shouldn't look like that. Rice shouldn't be mushy. The ramen was THE WORST I've ever tasted. The drinks: NASTY AND WEAK! Service: slow, inattentive, ageist? (we're not college kids and they seemed to not GAF), and confused ... oh and forgetful. Not worth the price or the hype. Brought our concerns to the server's attention multiple times and he offered a $2 coupon for a next visit. Don't do it lol

Yelp
Been before, decided toc try for Sunday lunch. All you can eat but you get more than enough on the first try. Drink specials as well. Staff was very nice and accommodating. The ambience was a bit over the top. And the lighting was not the best. You pick either hot pot or grilled meats at your table, you grill it, they watch. I dropped 80 bucks for two, found the meats of good quality, with a more than generous salad bar. However 30 minutes after l left l became sick as a dog. With the whole body top to bottom reporting for duty. First time eating that day. Now l won't officially say it was this restaurant because it is serious. However l have to alert folks and management that more control over food temperature should be considered.

Yelp
Hey friends! My boyfriend had a taste for Korean BBQ so we came across this place on Yelp. We ordered the all you can eat option. I can't remember every flavor we ordered, but we had a combination of their shrimp, beef, chicken and squid. We enjoyed everything! Ingredients were fresh and portions were generous. The all you can eat option comes with a food bar. The food bar was stocked with various condiments, sides such as: brown and white rice, onion rings, salads, shrimp, and even dessert! For dessert we had the cinnamon cake, chocolate cake and strawberry cake. The cinnamon was our favorite! Service was very friendly. Our grill was replaced often. Our server checked on us often. The interior is very eclectic. It's the first thing that catches your eye as you enter. Parking is free and ample. Price point is pretty affordable. About $33/person. I would definitely return. Hope you enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Yelp
I came here a couple times a year ago and it was great. However I went this past week and there is a drastic difference. It seemed like the quality of meat, service, and everything got worse. We had to keep flagging down random servers to put orders in because ours didn't come unless we were lucky, saw him and flagged him down. Honestly, really disappointed that the quality has gone down so much because I loved it a year ago. The sauce and appetizer bar was also really bad. Pretty much never saw a server and got refills after so long that our grill was constantly burning because we'd get no meat and they'd leave it on high, which started the cycle again trying to get the grill replaced but of course no service. They also stopped clearing tables so eventually we were just surrounded by tables with dirty dishes so the ambience wasn't great. When there were people, it seemed like they had the same issues we had.

Yelp
First timer here - and to be honest, I was not sure of the 'cook for myself' approach for public dining - but MeatUp.. I get it. You enter (the parking lot is designated but limited so.. pack your patience when arriving), and you're taken to a well lit, super cool spot. *see pictures* Almost gives you a speakeasy vibe, iykyk. Anyway, my brother and I got the gyoza, and the unlimited chicken, lamb and steak to cook. The portions are great and plentiful. The unlimited bar was also full of options including spices and seasonings to pick from - my recommendation; mix the curry & the rice if you like spice in your life. Bomb. My brother and I are already texting how we're going to return again for ramen! The only reason why I did not give this place 4 is because of their parking, and simply because.. as delicious as the food was, for the price - I could have cooked at home with the same amount of money - and been able to take the food home. Nonetheless, I WILL be returning for ramen. Until then....

Yelp
I have been to MeatUp Korean BBQ several times, and each time I loved it. I love the self-served bar, the small dishes, and of course the meat! The quality of the food is great! It is so good, I would travel 40 mins to be there. I love the curry fried chicken, garlic shrimp and the short ribs. The inside is remodeled. Brand new industrial cyber style interior. Give it a try and you will love it.

Yelp
Over good experience. The overall process could have been explained more. It was assumed we knew what to do and How things would work. Once we were cooking I really liked the experience. Here are pros and cons: Pros: All You Can Eat Meat, Onion Rings, and Rive. Large selections of meat. Allows you the opportunity to be adventurous. Love the group drink dispenser. Great music. Cons: there were no large tables so our group of 7 had to be divided among two tables. They charge children by height not age unfortunately my children are tall. Can only order 4 meats at a time for the table. Essentially it is 1-2 meats per person depending number of people at table. For example shrimp you received 4 so that was 1-2 per person. Smaller selection of meats at lunch. No spices or cooking oils so the food stuck and burned to the cook top. The "salad bar" advertised tortillas, but we didn't see them. While I like the concept, I prefer the hot pot KBBQ option. I would return but with a smaller group and better understanding of using salad bar items to heighten the experience.

Yelp
A big disappointment. First hassle, a new median has been built. This means a U-turn will be involved no matter which direction you're coming from. They have shifted from a high-quality model to a booze oriented style. And the price is up too. None of the meats were particularly good or bad. The kimchi lacked fermented flavor, and its seasoning was one-dimensional. My server tried to "help" by just dumping the meat on the griddle. For any novices, you need to separate the pieces and lay them flat, to get even cooking and that tasty sear. This place is suitable for the first stage of a Korean style pub crawl https://mimsonthemove.com/2017/11/therounds.html but I wouldn't go there just to eat. OK is as good as I can go.

Yelp
The parking here was very difficult. We had to drive around a few times to find a spot to park. We were able to get seated right away. The customer service wasn't bad but not necessarily something I'd compliment either. It was sufficient. We got the unlimited and added Ramen. I got the spicy chicken ramen and I thought it was very flavorful and it was huge. The meats we got for the grill were really nice and thick. When I've gone to other similar places, The meats tend to be considerably thinner. The marinades the meat came in were very good and all the food we ate was good. My favorite was the grilled cinnamon pineapple. The sidebar with the rice, kimchi vegetables, and seasonings, etc was very lackluster compared to other places I've gone. Overall it was good experience and I felt it was worth the cost of what we paid.

Yelp
Solid KBBQ spot with a lively vibe. Meat quality is top-notch - try the bulgogi and pork belly. Portions are huge, so come hungry! Pros: Great meat selection Fun for groups Cool cocktails Cons: Can get noisy Pricier than some KBBQ places Expect a wait on weekends. About $35+ /person with drinks. Worth it for the quality, but not an every week splurge. Tip: Book ahead and come starving. You'll thank me later!"
google avatar

Ethan G.

Yelp
Came here with a couple of friends and had a good time! They wouldn't let me put myself on the waitlist until my whole party was here (3 people) but the host was friendly about it and really did try and make sure I felt taken care of. The wait there isn't that long and I was there on a Friday night. The endless meat for about 40 dollars (including tax and tip) was good. There are a lot of options to choose from (bulgogi, pork belly, ribeye, shrimp). The meat quality isn't the best but it's ayce so it's about quantity over quality. I wish the sauce bar had more Asian dipping sauces. They had sauces like ketchup and salsa???? but really could've been enhanced by a sesame sauce or peanut sauce. They should also consider more grilled veggie options like eggplant. The vibe is also super cute.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been at College Park, but we just had to try MeatUp for a group birthday KBBQ dinner. It's been popping off on social media for the past few months, plus I love my techwear clothes and cyberpunk aesthetic, so the theme of this place is right up my alley! We tried a good variety of the different meats, along with the Soy Chicken Wings Appetizer, and the Tonkotsu Black Garlic Ramen. The overall meat quality for AYCE is pretty solid, my favorite meats were definitely the spicy pork belly, the pork jowl/cheek, the beef tongue, and the beef brisket! I appreciate that they have a good selection of meats too, with more rarer items on an AYCE menu like Pork Jowl, Short Rib, and Beef Tongue. The option for ramen and rice bento dishes was also nice, incase anyone wanted to just dine in for those dishes or were feeling like having it alongside the KBBQ. Drinks are really great too, the Tokyo Iced Tea and the Subak Watermelon Soju taste fantastic. Service is really fantastic, our server was attentive and always around whenever we required something. They were able to efficiently provide quality service to our large group despite the numerous requests and long orders. The owner Dennis, was a super friendly guy and made sure that we were accommodated with anything we needed! Also gotta love the free polaroid photo, each table gets 1 free printed polaroid picture of their party, just need to ask the server! Overall the Cyberpunk theme/vibes + the good quality food & selection for AYCE, makes this one of my top AYCE KBBQ spots for sure, and definitely a step up from the old Kangnam Grill before that occupied the space prior.

Yelp
For an AYCE KBBQ restaurant, the quality of meat is great. For dinner, they offer seafood (squid and octopus), delicious pork belly, and lots of steak options with pineapple. And honestly, their cinnamon pineapple when grilled is fantastic. The first time one places an order, the presentation of the ingredients is quite beautiful. Rather than using metal grills, they utilize ceramic non-stick which are less messy as the oil gets collected to the side. The staff are incredibly friendly and honestly, provided some of the best service I have ever had at a KBBQ restaurant. They continuously checked in on us, took our pictures, and even provided us with a Polaroid in a lovely card. The only downside is that their banchan/side dishes are not the best. While they do have traditional sauce bases, they lacked kimchi and cucumbers and told us that they ran out: instead they offered Japanese curry and rice as well as salad ingredients. The space consists of 4 person tables around a grill; however, they also do have 2 large 6 person tables for larger groups, which is quite nice. The parking lot does have space for about 10-12 cars but there is street parking around.

Yelp
I came here for the first time for lunch on Valentine's Day. There is a parking lot on the side of the building so parking is easy. It's relatively dark inside with mood/ vibe lighting. Since it was lunch time there wasn't too much of a crowd. We walked in and were seated immediately. Or waiter was kind and gave us a quick breakdown. What I like here is that there's a buffet bar with sides as well as some sides you have to specifically order. Sides at the bar included fried rice, egg rolls, French fries, noodles and other cool sides. The sauces are also at the buffet bar so you don't have to beg for more yum yum sauce. All of the meat was good and well seasoned. My least favorite was probably the chicken, I mean... it's chicken, but you gotta try it all. This is definitely my new Korean BBQ spot. Happy eating!

Yelp
I have a great experience here. Went right after work before dinner and it was almost empty. The food was great the service was good and they take a little mini picture of you. You have to ask about it. It wasn't offered by word of mouth. I saw it posted somewhere and inquired. It's good for a date night.

Yelp
This is my new favorite Korean bbq spot! Their week day Happy Hour specials includes the delicious watermelon soju (in a glass). Love the decor and neon lights, which makes me feel like I'm transported to a Cyberpunk world. The buffet and sauce bar has plenty of options to customize your dining experience. (Bonus points for playing BTS!)

Yelp
MeatUp was so cool! This was my first Korean BBQ and AYCE experience! The interior is definitely a vibe!! It's very cool and futuristic. When I walked in I was greeted immediately by Amy who sat me and explained how things worked. They have lots of items to choose from so everyone can enjoy even if you have some food restrictions. The watermelon soju was the star of the show!! Please order it! It was so good and I'm not really a drinker and I wanted to order another one! The pina colada was also just as good. William was our waiter and he gave us his favorite dish options and we went with that he suggested and was really happy about it. William was also the bar tender who fixed the drinks. All orders came out really quickly, we probably waited less than 5 minutes for food to start coming out. Also, they have a food bar for rice, French fries, onion rings and toppings. Here's what's on the plate! Main: Bulgogi Short rib Pineapples steak Spicy chicken Dessert: Ice cream Strawberry chocolate vanilla Appetizers: Calamari Sweet and spicy chicken wings Watermelon soju Pina colada William works on weekdays and he made my drinks perfectly! Definitely going to return to try out some other items!

Yelp
saw a rat run into the kitchen from the ramen section. food quality not that great either

Yelp
First time trying this place and wish I would have read the reviews. There is an assumption by servers that you've had Korean bbq or been there before. We missed the chance to ask for the Polaroid. We went for lunch when no one was there during our meal. We had the all you can eat for $20, kids under five eat free. The bulgogi chicken and pineapple beef were good; wasn't a fan of the lemon chicken. I wish there were more veggie options (only saw lettuce and zucchini.) juice and soda are bottled/canned, so no refillable. The ambiance is cute- perfect to fill your K-pop heart. Music was blasting and wish it were a tad lower as no one else was in the restaurant. My kid loved the ice cream included. Not the best Korean bbq I've had, but fun enough to bring my teen back.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
For one, this place didn't seem to be korean run. The sides were not good. The kimchi was terrible, the bean paste was watered down and vinegary(?) and missing some main staples from a korean bbq joint. The saving grace was the meat. Overall pretty good quality with the brisket being super thin with a small layer of fat. I would skip the plain ribeye steak though. It's tough and since it's plain lacks flavor. I think i would still go back if i didn't have other choices.

Megan R.

Yelp
The service was good but I've been here 4 times in hopes of them finally having the coconut pudding back in stock. It's very frustrating as it is the only reason I've been returning.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm glad we finally checked out the new MeatUp KBBQ! Wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The BEST part is their layout of the hot/veggies and sides/sauce bar. I really appreciated the sanitary covers on all the items. I haven't seen this in many other restaurants that I've been to. This impressed me. Food here is good, pretty solid KBBQ and good sides. The grill wasn't as efficient in cooking though. Mainly the middle section heated up well, therefore we mainly focused on cooking our meats there. We had a thing for the cinnamon pineapple pieces and grilled those things to delicious perfection. Service was okay, it was a bit slow when the restaurant wasn't entirely full. There could be room for improvement for sure. The staff though are very friendly and helpful. Ice cream at the end was definitely a nice treat. Don't sleep on MeatUp, we will definitely be back.

Yelp
My friends and I went here last night to eat as it recently opened in College Park. I remember going here when it was a different KBBQ restaurant and that was a disappointing experience. From my experience with KBBQs in Maryland, I think this was my favorite so far. I had endured numerous waits just to even sit down at most places but here? There was no wait which was a plus for me ( It was also like 9:30 so maybe people were done. ) I just want to say first of all, this place has limited parking so you might have to park else where like the UMD Lot like most people but they should clarify where is a safe place to park if dining in. It's going to be packed if it's on the weekends so I'm sure that'll create minor inconveniences. We got the AYCE KBBQ option for $30 and I have to say that the meat selection is pretty unique here. Some items to highlight if you are willing to try it are Pineapple Steak, Beef Tongue, Pineapple Pork, Green Onion Honey Chicken, Lemon Chicken. Some of the unique items are only limited to one order per visit so keep that in mind if you plan on visiting. The grill is really big with it's own drip pan. It's pretty impressive that we don't any place in Virginia that does that. We only had to change the grill pan once too. We were able to order up to 8 items at once for our table so that was interesting that we could order more of the same item; but it was also a bit slow in getting the food out. Perhaps the downside of getting alot of meat is the wait but when it does come out; you get plenty for your table. I think we did about 3-4 rounds before we all tapped out. The sauce bar had veggies and a small buffet area containing fried rice, fries, onion rings, eggrolls, and a giant rice cooker/warmer of white rice. The sauces there I didn't really care for much, I'm usually someone that just gets sesame oil + salt/pepper. It's my go to sauce for KBBQ and I don't need anything else. Our server helped us cook during the last 30 minutes but he was attenuative and he did recommend us ways to make sure the meat cooks thoroughly. Props to him. I think this was a pleasant surprise; definitely want to come back for the ramen too!

Yelp
Cute total Korean street food vibe in this BBQ joint. Service was prompt and attentive. Lots of sauce options on the buffet to go with your BBQ. Don't forget to get your free Polaroid taken before you leave!

Yelp
Great location: on the busy route 1 in College Park. Great prices: affordable for anyone. Weekday lunch is cheaper than dinner and weekends. For $20-$30, you can have all you can eat meats, side dishes, even seafood and ice creams. It was packed with customers, yet not noisy. Most tables were busy with barbecues. Our favorites were beef briskets, Spicy Pork Bulgogi, Garlic Butter Shrimp, and Spicy Squid. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend.

Yelp
Had an awesome time at Meat Up in College Park! The quality of the meats was top-notch, and everything was fresh and flavorful, especially for the price.

Yelp
MeatUp Korean BBQ definitely have the best marketing I've seen around here because I was so excited to try this place! I do have to say I was a but disappointed, especially for the price point. We love trying different Korean BBQ/HotPot/Ramen spots in the area and we weren't to fond of this one. I loved the set up, made me feel like I was back in Tokyo, so I associated the look with good taste. Majority of the sides were accessible on the bar(buffet style) but there really wasn't a lot of items to choose from, very few veggies and the sauces were not that appealing. The meat selection was decent and the seasoning on the chicken and beef tasted pretty good! Of course we tried the Ramen! I was so excited about it but ultimately disappointed about the Ramen I chose. I would probably go again and try a different Ramen flavor because there was potential. I did enjoy the Pina Colada in the Pineapple, yum! The service was okay, we had a little bit of a wait to get a new top for out table grill and our second round of meat selection, there was not a lot of people there at the time. Can't say I will be going back anytime soon, but I would like to check out the Ramen menu again!

Yelp
Came here for the first time with a couple of friends for lunch on a weekend. Since we ordered the all-you-can-eat, it came out to approximately $30 per person. What's hot - Quality. All their meats are pretty good quality, but not very seasoned/flavorful. That's where the dipping sauces are helpful. - Menu. On the weekends, it appears all their meat options are available, which is great. There's something for everyone, spicy meats, sweet meats, pork belly, chicken, seafood, etc.... - Service. Pretty reliable. There was always someone checking in on us as to whether there was anything else needed. Whenever we needed something and needed to flag someone down, it was pretty seamless. - Side bar. They have a side bar with food like fried rice, egg rolls, fries, onion rings, kimchi, salad options and sauces. Their sauce bar is definitely great, because their sauces include bulgogi, samjang, bbq sauce, etc.... Their salad bar includes kimchi, bean sprouts, jalapeños, lettuce, pickles, etc.... - Cost. For the amount of food that you order, it's pretty good value for money. What's not - Smoke in your face. Their grill is a round grill, which is slightly slanted to the side to catch the drippings from what's being cooked. As a result, there can be smoke that wafts in your face, which I didn't like. That also meant my clothes smelled smokey afterwards. They don't have a smoke stack that vents upwards, which detracts from the cooking experience. - Parking. There is a small parking lot to the side of the restaurant, but depending on the day and time you go, it can get packed quickly, which means you may need to find street parking, which isn't easy, especially given that it's a college town. - Time limit. Be aware there might be a time limit as to how long you have to when you can continue to order. Towards the end of our meal when we put in the last order of meats, one of the waitresses said we have 30 minutes left to continue ordering. None of their wait staff explained the details to us in the beginning, when we first started ordering, so we don't know all the details. However, just something for you to be aware of. - Side bar. Their hot options like fries, onion rings, egg rolls, and fried rice aren't very warm. Cold fries aren't the most appetizing. - Acoustics. They play music inside, which can echo and detracts from being able to carry a conversation with the people you come with. Final answer Would be willing to come back, but probably not a first choice.

Yelp
The renovations are electrifying and inviting. Fresh meat, side items (rice, chickens, noodles, etc). I particularly loved the spicy ramen. Sooo much flavor and SPICE !!! Would like to thank our server William for all of his hard work and positive energy :)

Yelp
Delicious food and drinks with fast, friendly service. I hope they can expand in the future since the space is a bit small and parking is not very convenient.

Yelp
Absolutely yummy. Wow... cannot wait to go back. Price was reasonable considering how much you get. All you can eat meats and trimmings. Cook it at the table. Great variety. The vibe inside is something out of an Asian cartoon / TV show. Asian pop music playing, neon lighting. I would describe the place as a mix of cyber and industrial styles. The staff is very friendly. Parking is a bit of an issue. Their lot only holds 7-8 cars. You can park on the side street, just be mindful of signs. Some meters nearby as well.

Yelp
Ordered spicy veggie ramen and veggie gyoza I'm giving the packaging and 10/10 I even kept the bag but the flavor of the ramen was very bland with a whole lot of spice . The gyoza was good just wanted it a lil more crispy on the bottom

Yelp
For around $22 for lunch it can't be beat. Service is good, a decent selection of meats and sauces. They don't have all that many sides but between the spring rolls, fries, rice and veggies you'll find enough. I've been here now three times for group lunches and I would sure keep coming back.

Yelp
Went twice in two days. Once for dinner and once for lunch. Both time food was spot on. Service was friendly and place had a good college town vibe. Dishes came out quickly and ingredients were simple and fresh. Recommended and would eat here again. Only negative was when we arrived at 1130A, they were not open yet and made us wait in small alcove.

Yelp
Well, let's just say it didn't satisfy me. I was completely underwhelmed. However, the servers were very attentive and knowledgeable. The ambiance is basic in my opinion.Don't believe the hype, hibachi is better! Bathrooms were not maintained, ughhh! Kinda weird for a newly opened restaurant! I would recommend the chicken ramen. Flavorful broth and it stole the show! It was the most enjoyable part of the meal! This place left a lot to be desired for Korean BBQ!!!

Yelp
I'm rating MeatUp a 4; wish I could make it a 3.5. My date and I were in the mood for KBBQ and wanted to try the new spot in College Park. I was a little nervous about it being crowded during the semester with students in town, but overall we had a nice experience. The good: 1) The check in system is very easy; the host directed us to an ipad to put our information. They texted us when our table was ready; couldn't have been more than a ten minute wait in what seemed to be a busy restaurant. That's a win! 2) Meatup is both a KBBQ spot AND a ramen shop; the front of the restaurant strictly sells ramen (looks like $15ish a bowl). The back half of the spot is dedicated to KBBQ, which is what my date and I enjoyed. 3) Portion size per order of meat is pretty big. More than enough for two people to get their fill of a given meat. I bet each portion would satisfy 3-4. The great: 1) The quality of the meat offered in the KBBQ is top tier. I've had alot of KBBQ in the DMV area, and I must say...this meat quality is noticeably higher than the rest. The meats are thick, fatty, juicy, and tender. My favorites are the pork galbi, green onion chicken, and beef bulgogi. 2) All of the meats are available in their standard $30 all you can eat dinner - get what you want! (There are some meats that restrict you to a certain amount of orders) 3) There are multiple servers to assist each table! They seem to have 'wandering waitstaff' -- any server can help change your grate, refill a drink, take empty plates, close your bill, or take a food order. This really reduces wait times since servers are always buzzing around. 4) $4 house rails - got to love a college town! Needs improvement: 1) The buffet/sauce bar was disappointing - they had some basic veggies (lettuce, onions, bean sprouts), fries, onion rings, fried rice, and white rice. The sauce bar was really limited - only soy sauce and a brisket sauce. The other sauces (BBQ sauce and tangy chicken sauce) didn't seem to be aligned with traditional KBBQ flavors. Would love to see a fuller sauce bar. 2) Parking is really tough - the lot overall is small, with only 10-15 parking spaces. Most patrons seem to park across the street at a UMD lot (that is usually free after 5pm on most evenings). Some signage to say "yes, you're safe to go park across the street at these hours" would greatly reduce anxiety. Overall, a fun experience and definitely appreciate the quality meats - I'll be back!

Yelp
This is a must must must go!! They have such awesome signature foods and drinks. It is a culinary experience! The food is very affordable, and the staff is fast and courteous. We came in for a special occasion, and were not disappointed. We ordered mainly delicious cuts of beef and some flavored chickens to cook on the grill, but we also had their amazing watermelon Soju drink, which I highly recommend. They have a Long all you can eat buffet bar and sauce selection, where you can go over and handpick what you'd like for the table. This is a great atmosphere that plays upbeat music it's super clean and they have a really neat bartending section in the back where they prepare these gorgeous pineapple and watermelon fruit drinks in the actual fruit to serve the table. Outstanding!

Yelp
I use to come here for the best ramen in the dmv but now it's an influencer focused restaurant... shame that management ruined this place

Yelp
The atmosphere is really nice and the food is super marinated and good. The service is good and I have never had to deal with something that tastes bad. This is my go to kbbq spot and I would recommend it to anyone that wants to try something new in the college park area.

Yelp
Been here a few times now and it's always a great experience! All the meats are fresh. Service is always really nice and friendly and also pretty fast. Love that they have a self serve bar area to get sides and whatnot. Other places you have to rely on the server to get everything. There's also a lot of different things to mix together for sauce and dipping which I appreciate! The ambiance inside is also super nice! The decor is this cyber punk theme with a lot of cool lights and it mixes well with the sort of industrial vibe of the actual building. The stand out feature is the ability to do ayce ramen on top of the ayce kbbq. You don't see that everywhere, especially for such a good price.

Yelp
Very fun spot, decorated in a cyberpunk theme. The meats were super good quality and the sauces were delicious. I love their Curry Tonkotsu ramen, it's my go to when I'm there. The fried mandu and seaweed rolls are delicious. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. There is a lot on the side and some street parking.

Yelp
This latecomer doesn't touch the other Korean BBQ and hot pot restaurants. The food isn't flavorful, the sauce and spice bar is limited, and the ramen is only so-so if you order it spicy. Please don't waste time ordering any unseasoned meat...you will be sorry. And definitely don't order the beef brisket because it is paper thin and will stick to the grill. The service was pretty good because the servers walked around and assisted you in ordering additional meat items. I have no complaints there. But there are no veggies for the grill. Finally, the ambiance is okay. It is pretty noisy. We sat near a group of birthday girls who thought they were auditioning for The Voice, which was interesting.

Yelp
Food was great, my daughters loved the fact you can cook the food in front of you. The atmosphere was nice and staff is around to help you while cooking your choice of meat.

Yelp
The watermelon drink, although expensive was very good! Spectacular food!! I didn't really need to add ons as the buffet was sufficient

SeoYeon S.

Yelp
The meat quality was good. The pork belly meat was savory. The marinade meat was also delicious and tender
