"Even though the Plano shop is closing, the second DFW outpost of Meccha Matcha will remain open in Grand Prairie. There’s also a possibility that more locations could open in the future, once things settle after the COVID-19 pandemic is over." - Amy McCarthy

I ordered the dirty matcha and the strawberry matcha. I liked the dirty matcha—it was less sweet, just how I prefer. The strawberry matcha was too sweet for me, but the server was super nice and offered to adjust it. She gave me a stronger matcha (level 3), which I appreciated. Since it was my first time, she even mentioned upfront that she could fix the drink if I didn’t like it. Great service and a thoughtful experience!

Google
Such an underrated matcha spot ! Meecha Matcha is inside Asia Times Square, and they use 100% pure matcha sourced straight from Okabe, Japan—no fillers or additives. They offer three grades: organic ceremonial, culinary, and hojicha (which is roasted matcha). My favorites were the ube boba cloud drink and the ube + matcha soft serve—super creamy and flavorful. The strawberry matcha was just okay for me (I like my matcha strongggg).

Google
This is such a great place to fulfill your matcha cravings. We got an ube matcha soft serve & a matcha dubai chocolate cup. Both were delicious, & the staff were friendly. Will definitely come again.

Google
First time having a matcha where I could level up my drink lol Cute idea. I had a level 3 lavender matcha with an oat milk substitution. Yummy, but maybe take it down a notch if you don't love matcha or you're sensitive to caffeine. The place is a little "hidden" if it's your first time at the Asian Times Square. And it's not a cozy spot. In fact, it's in a food court, so it will be lively on Saturdays. No complaints though.

Laura K.

Google
The soft serve taste like it's just matcha mixed in with ice. Location is nice and secluded in the food court of Asia Time Square. Prices are reasonable.

Google
I've been to Asia Times Square a few times already but I came here for the first time last week! I got the matcha parfait for myself and a pint of (level 2) matcha ice cream to take back home for my family - the soft serve is delicious and really smooth! I also loved the matcha jelly at the bottom The intensity of the matcha flavor in their level 2 ice cream is SUPER well balanced but I didn't realize how high the caffeine level was 😭 so definitely be mindful if you are sensitive to caffeine. I'll probably stick with level 1 next time lol

Nani

Google
The establishment was clean. I ordered the matcha/ube soft serve in a cup. I enjoyed the mixed soft serve. However, I would’ve preferred level 2 or 3 matcha. I wasn't thinking and forgot they offered different matcha levels. Didn't see tanghulu on the menu or a price. Prices tend to change but for reference. I paid $5 for each one during my visit. I ordered two tanghulu to go and should’ve asked for a cup of ice water to dip them in. I had to enjoy these sweet treats before all the sugar melted from the triple-digit heat. The staff member who helped me was super sweet and friendly. She made the tanghulu as I enjoyed my soft serve. I selected the tanghulu I wanted and decided on grape and strawberry. I would order it again. The fruit was fresh, and the sugar added a sweet crunch.

I love going to Meccha Matcha everytime I visit Asia Times Square! I really enjoy the strawberry matcha and the soft serves. The workers are also really friendly and welcoming! Great place to get a nice dessert.

Yelp
I've been ordering the wrong matcha and ube desserts all my life. This matcha/ube soft serve might be the best frozen treat I've ever tasted! I've tried matcha ice cream, ube milk tea, and plenty other mix-and-match combinations of the sort, but none of them really compare. For $5.50 and tax, I consider that quite a steal. And to think that I almost ordered a boring old drink instead... This shop has a banner titled "top sellers" which only advertises their bestselling drinks but not their other desserts. They should consider adding their soft serve on that banner as well. I visited on a Saturday night at 9pm (an hour before closing). As a Houstonian, I'm used to our Chinatown being absolutely packed at this time but both parking and seating were ample here. Who would have thought that one of my favorite desserts ever would come from an unassuming food court?

Victoria N.

Yelp
FOOD IG: @northtx.gemz **** WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: matcha everything! Even different levels of matcha offered THE VIBE: it's in a food court so not really a vibe. PRICE: ~$12 WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! Already have. **** Overall Rating: 9/10 - This is my second time getting this shaved ice parfait and I'm in love! - Last time I got the ube and matcha swirl this time I just got matcha and I love both! - If you are not familiar with Asian desserts, we love our sweet red beans so don't be appalled by it! Some people are fans of it and some are not so just be aware. - The mochi balls are flavorless but help absorb the sweetness of the dessert. - I will say this dessert is slightly on the sweeter side and definitely shareable with one more person.

Jenny P.

Yelp
delicious soft serve! I came here after dinner so only was able to get the dessert ~ but their drinks all looked sooooo good. The soft serve was not too sweet and just right in texture! The mix of ube and matcha blended very well~

Tiffany J.

Yelp
10/10 this was SO delicious. The flavor was incredible and consistency was perfect. The line was quite long, but it went by quickly.

Yelp
Meccha Matcha is located in Asia Time Squares Food Court in Grand Prairie, serving up great matcha ice cream, drinks, and other sweet favorites! This fine establishment has plenty of parking, so there is no need to worry about finding parking unless you come here during a big event. They are located inside the food court where there are many restaurants to choose from and they have plenty of seats and chairs to sit at in a nice clean well lit environment. I came through on a weekday and ordered the green matcha and ube swirl soft serve ice cream. I ended up getting it in a bowl instead of a cone, and the staff did a great job swirling it in the bowl. The ice cream was perfectly ice cold and was very flavorful and creamy. The flavor had a nice sweet touch to it but wasn't too overly sweet. The ube paired well with the matcha that was slightly bitter with notes of sweetness and umami. Overall, it was a perfect treat, and I enjoyed the ice cream. I'm looking forward to coming back and maybe trying one of the many matcha drinks they have on the menu. The prices and customer service were fair and average.

Sheree Z.

Yelp
I really wanted something refreshing but with matcha and their strawberry lychee matcha was amazing! I was afraid the matcha wouldn't come through but it did! Great matcha quality. Even though they had a line I got my drink under 5 minutes.

Julisa P.

Yelp
This location is located in an amazing food court which gives you many food options. I tried the matcha/ Uber swirl cone. As someone who is not a fan of match I was very impressed. I loved it. It's very refreshing and isn't extremely suite. Has great flavor and will definitely be coming back!

Laura P.

Yelp
i loved it, highly recommend the level 2 matcha and tanghulu. the employee with brown hair who was working feb 25 around 6pm was sooo friendly and sweet, she is an angel.

Linn P.

Yelp
One of the very few places that offer hojicha milk tea. I absolutely love hojicha and had one in Seattle and have been on the hunt here. So here I got the Hojicha latte with matcha ice cream. It just makes it more creamy and a little sweeter but not too sweet. Will be back for the same thing since I can't find hojicha anywhere else

James R.

Yelp
The Yuzu Float from Meccha Matcha is a delightful treat that combines the refreshing flavor of citrus with the creamy goodness of Ube soft ice cream. The citrus-flavored icee is perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness and a hint of tartness. The bits of orange zest add a burst of fresh citrus flavor with every sip. Topped with the creamy Ube soft ice cream, this float is a deliciously unique combination that is sure to please any palate. Overall, the Yuzu Float is a must-try for anyone looking for a refreshing and satisfying drink.

Sherelle L.

Yelp
The soft serve is worth a visit alone! So smooth, and the matcha taste is in point! This is inside a food court that has a-lot of Asian inspired meal choices I was not a fan of the drink though. Hard pass next time

Andrew H.

Yelp
Found this place via an article on five Japanese places to visit in the DFW area. It is within the Asia Times Square mall in Grand Prairie. So worth the trip for matcha and ube soft serve. The matcha is not overly sweet and the ube is on the sweet side so they balance well. If you're over here, try it out! Support local and enjoy!

Charlie R.

Yelp
Love this place. Been coming here for years. Price has slowly increased over time but the service and drink goodness is the best matcha in miles. Many options from soft serve, shaved ice, lattes, and ice cream. My usual is the strawberry matcha latte which is beautiful when prepared...it's creamy with hints of strawberry and the perfect amount of sweetness, with a smooth matcha flavor. You can even buy their premium matcha for at home creations.

Quinn N.

Yelp
This was the closest place in fort worth for a matcha shop so for us it was worth it! I tried level 3 matcha ice cream and it was intense, love it! Service was fast, it's in a food court and it shares the dining area with a few other restaurants. I love my parfait and would order again.

Sandy N.

Yelp
I am ALWAYS on the look out for black seseme ice cream. The last time I had it was at love matcha but they actually had closed down :( Once I found out they had the black seseme here, I was all in! You can actually see the seseme in the ice cream. It was a very strong taste which I love. Although not as creamy as the love matcha ones, this was still live up to my expectations! Thank you!

Mavis T.

Yelp
I used to love visiting this place specifically for the pandan parfait, but sadly, they no longer offer pandan so I got the matcha/ube instead but I was disappointed to find out that they were out of mochi balls as well. Despite the worker's attempt to accommodate by offering boba, it didn't taste good, and I had to remove it when I got home. The parfait had an excessive amount of whipped cream, and the ice cream was served separately instead of being in the parfait cup. It just didn't taste the same as before. Additionally, I ordered a strawberry matcha, assuming it would be good since the place specializes in matcha, but it was the worst one I've ever had. It tasted like plain milk, and I had to throw it away immediately after taking a sip. I ordered two, so it was a waste of both money and time. I won't be returning here again

Deyanira G.

Yelp
Ice cream is soft served and tastes so good ! We got our ice cream extremely fast. The flavor of the matcha is just the right amount. A nice treat to have on a warm day.

Rameen A.

Yelp
one of their employee is so nice and welcoming I love matcha I was sad that they changed their menu I miss matcha bingsu and parfait

Bella N.

Yelp
Love that they have levels to the matcha. We always get the strongest one and it's amazing!

elijah c.

Yelp
First I've been coming here since they have opened a few years ago and I used to come every weekend. This place is what got me addicted to matcha and I've atleast filled the stamp card 10+ times and spent hundreds of dollars here. I always get matcha panda(Oreo) with level 3 or 5 matcha ice cream when they have it. The workers are nice everytime and they give a big scoop most of the time. To all matcha lovers you better pull up here you missing out.

Nellie F.

Yelp
I'm so happy to have found great matcha ice cream! Being from HI, you can find good matcha almost anywhere... so this is GREAT in my books. The establishment is always so clean and they have really good customer service. They don't tell you about their points system which is a little weird, BUT they do have it printed on the receipt, so I was able to get in. The soft serve is so smooth and not overly sweet. You can ACTUALLY taste the matcha which is just... so satisfying. Heads-up, if you are sensitive to caffeine you may be up well into the next day lol.

Lexie C.

Yelp
The matcha quality here is so good. I also love how they have different levels of matcha depending on if you want a weaker or stronger flavor. Pretty decent prices and the service and quality are great. Also, loved the mochi and the red bean in the shaved ice. Super delicious.

Alexis N.

Yelp
The drinks are great! You can select up to different type of level of matcha! I usually get the iced lavender matcha drink and I got the iced strawberry matcha drink yesterday! I highly recommend you matcha lovers to try this place for starters! :) (You can also get different milk if you're lactose like me ! )

Ai Vy N.

Yelp
SOOOOO happy that Meccha Matcha has finally opened a location on this side of town!!! For all the matcha and dessert lovers out there, this is a dream comes true lol I've been in love with MM since they first opened the Plano location. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), it's a bit of a drive for me, and usually I don't make it past the Asian shopping centers in Carrollton to come to the Plano MM more often. This one is located in the brand new food court next door to Hong Kong market. Due to COVID-19, currently there's no seating being offered. There are plenty of chairs and tables, but they're all stacked up. You just have to order the goodies to go and eat in the car, or stand by one of the tables to consume it. Most of their items are matcha related. Hence, the name "Meccha Matcha". All of their matcha soft serves are full of matcha flavor and not overly sweet at all. This actually goes for all of their desserts. I actually haven't tried anything with the other flavors since their matcha products are too darn good. The matcha Level 3 is definitely the way to go if you want extra strong matcha flavor. Currently they're still within the soft opening period. Most of the items are available, but not all. The staff is very friendly and helpful if you have any questions. Just cut them some slacks since they're still training and learning.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
If you love matcha, you have to try this! And if you don't, there's also plenty of other ice cream flavors like Thai tea, pandan, hojicha, white rabbit candy. I got the level 2 matcha ice cream and it was pure bliss! You can taste the authentic matcha flavor. Not too sweet not too bitter. Just perfect. I think I'll try level 3 next time for an even stronger bitter tea taste. My parents got matcha ube swirl soft serve in a cup and it was huge!!! 2 people could easily share a cup. Soft serve was delicious as well. I took off a star because customer service could improve. We waited a while for our last ice cream. The cashier walked to the back, then came back up front and answered the phone then left again. Then was chit chatting with the other cashier. It's fine if she had to take care of something but at least tell the customer. Don't just say nothing and ignore the customer. We thought she forgot about the ice cream. 5 minutes later she finally made it. No apology for delay or anything. Regardless, we enjoyed our dessert & will be back!!

Emily D.

Yelp
They have the best matcha here and also ~matcha soft serve~ as well as other yummy flavors that u can put in your latte to make it a float. They have lavender and chai matcha mix lattes which are ~amazing~ combinations and I cant think of anywhere else they have similar beverages. My friend and I came here at 10:30am yesterday just for the matcha but they didn't open until 11 so we literally waited 30 minutes just for them to open so we could get machas They also have an option to add additional matcha if u super like matcha and also offer samples of their ice cream & soft serve! They also have a cute arcade upstairs which you can visit and play sweet gashapon games. Definitely try out some of the other awesome places in this same food court too! I love the Asian times square

Amethyst G.

Yelp
When I lived in California, there was a spot in Little Tokyo, that I would always go to that served ice cream like this that was very delicious. Happy to have found a comparable place here in DFW to satisfy this specific craving. A solid ice cream menu of either straight Matcha straight Ube or mixed really can't go wrong with any. They also have parfaits with the above mentioned ice cream flavors, as well as a selection of drinks all of which I hear are great. The establishment is usually serviced by young adults nothing above and beyond but nothing inherently rude. It is in the Asia Times Square Plaza so be ready to be around a multitude of people.

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Got their hojicha float. I wish the float had less ice because in turn there was less soft serve. The soft serve was pretty good, I didn't care for the hojicha tea though, it was pretty bitter but maybe I just can't do matcha. It was $6.50 after tax, same with the matcha soft serve w a cone. My friend liked her soft serve.

Jorena L.

Yelp
A great addition to the food court! Many options to choose from and they have rotating daily flavors. The matcha ice cream level 3 is the perfect amount of matcha. Very thick and creamy. The shaved ice needs some improvement. As you can see in the picture, there were a lot of parts of the ice that were still white (especially underneath). Definitely needed a lot more matcha sauce and condensed milk. We ended up asking for extra, and they kindly provided it! The matcha-ube soft serve was the best part. Would recommend getting it on its own. The ube flavor was strong and fragrant.

David L.

Yelp
Absolutely love the shaved ice here!! Wish the one in Plano was still open as it's a big of a trek to come here now. Worth it though for that matcha kick!!

Dan N.

Yelp
Matcha ice cream isn't very common so it definitely sticks out among the other options in the food court! There's a bakery and also some boba shops nearby but I had to try here since I have a soft spot for this flavor. When coming here I would stick to the soft serve ice cream. They a menu of some different stuff but I think their main go to item is the ice cream. If you like ube then for sure try the matcha-ube combination soft serve ice cream. It was tasty and had a good consistency to it. The shaved ice was a little bland and it wasn't anything special. I recommend level 2-3 matcha if you are wanting to taste the matcha flavor. The recommendation: Enjoy the matcha soft serve my friends!

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
I had been dying to try this place after an endless hunt for good, ceremonial grade matcha places. Meccha matcha did NOT disappoint! Located inside the food court at Asia Times Square, I opted for the matcha soft serve to satisfy my sweet tooth. Not only am I the happiest matcha lover EVER, the taste is incredible.

Haoxuan X.

Yelp
Loved the ube/matcha soft serve! Wish they had a location in Virginia!

Olivia E.

Yelp
Been several times for their soft serve and ice cream. Both delicious! Matcha is a unique flavor only the adventure foodie's pallet will enjoy. I love it! Enjoy!!

Benjamin C.

Yelp
It was a hot day and some friends and I decided to get some dessert. When they suggest Meccha Matcha, I just went with the flow. But I as we arrived I found that I really liked the location. There was a lot of places to sit and it was shaded. Honestly I'm not a big fan of Matcha or ice cream really, but this place was really good. Especially on a hot day. Really good matcha flavor mixed evenly throughout the ice cream and the ice cream itself was soft. For all you matcha lovers out there, you need to come try this place out. I'd recommend checking out the homemade ice cream flavors.

Kavaragu M.

Yelp
Went during Nesian festival. They seemed to be staffed up in preparation but the service was meh at best. They made my order quickly and the flavor explosion of the dish is on point. They've really got the tastes and quick service down to a science. I've just realized my love for matcha this year and their ice cream did not disappoint.

Petra N.

Yelp
Its delicious!! If you really like matcha do top level but it can be a little bitter on the ice cream. So make sure you really like matcha! They were soooo busy today because they have Polynesian fair, so they were not really friendly and not very accommodating. They want to just get everything out in a hurry! But it was pretty fast though, and everything was delicious so no complaints. I just wish they would've taken more time w you to explain things because it's a lot to take on! Will come back when it's a little bit calmer and maybe I'll get better service!

Christine C.

Yelp
I was omw to Pearl to pick up some Christmas dim sum when OMG CAN WE PLEASE STOP! So excited to see this place! Usually, a coffee shop has only matcha latte and no love. It's December 27 and I've already tried the black sesame matcha (hot, with almond milk), iced yuzu matcha with regular milk, and iced peppermint matcha with coconut milk. There was real yuzu in my drink! My friend got a matcha pandan slush and it had actual pandan bits in it! My favorite part: its not sweet! All of the flavors have been amazing, but the yuzu is definitely my favorite so far.

Krista R.

Yelp
I've had the matcha strawberry latte and the matcha float. I liked the taste of the latte. The matcha float I originally got matcha and ube soft serve, but they were out of ube. She asked if I would try the black sesame and matcha. Sure, why not. Always love trying new things. It was oddly weird and good at the same time. The black sesame had a nutty flavor that complimented the matcha, but kinda sweet and kinda bitter. Definitely different. I wouldn't mind getting a drink with it again.

Cecilia P.

Yelp
Ube and matcha! Was leaving the market and saw Meccha Matcha from afar. I had immediately had to go inside. They have 3 matcha levels for all the matcha lover. They have a little chalk board menu by the register that may offer different flavors that day and UBE was on the board! I decided to try the ice cream. Matcha level 1 and ube. Both great flavors. My SIL did a soft serve. Mix combo which was matcha and ube. I will return to try other desserts and drinks!

Alice Y.

Yelp
The ice cream is sooo creamy and matcha-y I love it. Next time, I can go without the tea and just get the ice cream it's that good.

Dana F.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Grand Prairie that I'm so thankful to have discovered! This spot is located in Asia Times Square's food court. What I love about this dessert place is the variety in their menu, such as lattes and shaved ice, and other flavors like ube, black sesame, and hojicha. And it's all authentic! I have visited many, many matcha houses across my travels and this spot is the first one I've seen offer "levels" of matcha strength, with level 3 being its highest level. My girlfriend, being a matcha connoisseur, of course could not pass down on the matcha ice cream at level 3. She describes it similar to dark chocolate. I got the matcha latte topped with a matcha soft serve. At first, I could taste the bitterness of the tea, but when mixed with the soft serve it was absolutely perfect. I will definitely come again and bring some friends here!

Keven W.

Yelp
I been wanting to have an ice cream place like this as they opened on in Sacramento and then we had to leave. I ordered the parfait which comes with red bean, mochi, jelly and their matcha ice cream. They have an ube flavor too, but did not try. Anyways it was good and I enjoyed it and would come back here again.

L W.

Yelp
Soft serve too icy, not good. Matcha ice cream is good, smooth and silky. Portion not too generous; one scoop means 1.000 scoop. Food court space is shared among vendors, and is not too tidy.

Kathy V.

Yelp
The shaved ice and matcha ube ice cream was pretty good!!! It has Home made Mochi balls and red beans.

Heidi Y.

Yelp
We got the level 5 matcha single scoop...and yes it was strongk. If you like match, go for it.

Hyun P.

Yelp
I got a level 3 matcha 2 scoops ice cream with mochi balls and red bean toppings. taste wise was just okay, probably should have gotten 1 scoop since I ended up throwing half of it away. Just not for me, mochi balls no flavor or sweetness.

Rina K.

Yelp
This place is so good! And the girl that helped me was so sweet! I have never tried this place before so she broke down everything I had questions on. Their area was also really clean. The parfait was so good! I'm not a big fan of red bean but it wasn't overpowering, it was just right! The matcha iced latte was really good too. All your orders you can adjust what levels of matcha you want. Most definitely would come back !
