The 13 Best Restaurants in New Haven, Connecticut | Eater

"A small but growing Connecticut-based chain, Mecha is an energetic setting for snacking on roasted mushroom dumplings and grilled edamame with garlic confit and slurping Asian staples like ramen and pho. The downtown hot spot also keeps things lively with playful cocktails like the Lotus Flower Bomb Sangria with plum wine and shochu as well as a cachaça-spiked, mango lassi-inspired bubble tea." - Stasia Brewczynski

Super flavorful!!!! The people who work here are very friendly and attentive. We ordered lots of munchies and enjoyed them together. Very creative and trendy items on the menu. Will definitely revisit again! (Also the happy hour price drop was so awesome!!)

Fantastic noodle bar with amazing eats and great vibes. Everything from bao, sushi, wings, munchies, stir fry, and of course pho and ramen! Sit at the bar with Seth and let him make you one of their killer cocktails! Don't miss out on the red oil dumplings and laos crispy pork!

This place up charges for everything. I’ve had more noodles in a cup a noodle for $2.00 than I got from Mecha. Gas station noodles are better than Mecha. It’s unfortunate because I had high hopes for a noodle spot close to my house. This was my first time trying it and I’m super disappointed. Pho on 6th is 10x better flavor, service, quality and quantity. The price at Mecha isn’t worth any of the hype. I’d highly recommend getting your pho from Pho on 6th. Mecha is not it.

Amazing! The pho sounded good and it's some of the best I've ever had. The broth is SUPER flavorful and deep. The cocktails were fantastic. The wings were perfect. Everything was amazing.

I enjoyed the Mecha Noodle Bar. We went on an afternoon during the weekend, so parking wasn't great - there is a paid lot adjacent to the restaurant for about $10. Anyways, I loved walking in as the decor was unique and there was wood designs hanging from the ceiling. The food was alright for the price. As a table, we tried the kale salad, Malaysian noodles, tonkatsu 3.0, and the pho bo vein. We tried two baos, which are different from the traditional bao and are more like sliders - they were very yummy and would be quite the steal during happy hour. For $7 though, it felt a bit small. The Malaysian noodles were tasty and spicy and the tonkatsu ramen was just alright - nothing to write home about but not terrible. The staff had passion about this restaurant and that was refreshing to see. Very friendly and explained dishes to customers and ourselves. I think I'd return during happy hour for the reduced prices on apps, otherwise I wouldn't recommend due to price - you can find similar dishes for cheaper elsewhere.

Waited over an hour for food during restaurant week. And the food was verrrry meh. Poutine was very good and the drinks were probably the best part. The ramen was no better than the ramen kits you could buy at Costco. We were very disappointed especially due to the wait times. At one point we considered cutting our losses and settling to go eat elsewhere. The wait was NOT worth it :(.

Such a fun and flavorful spot in RiNo! Mecha Noodle Bar blends Vietnamese comfort food with bold twists—and the vibe is super welcoming. I tried a little of everything: red oil dumplings, Laos crispy pork (so good with the jeow som sauce), spicy miso ramen, banana pudding, and all four bao buns (the smash burger one is life-changing). Drinks were equally great—especially the frozen Rainbow Road 2.0 and the one in the fish cup 😄 What makes them stand out? • $0.50 of every ramen goes to a local nonprofit • $2 of a featured cocktail benefits The Center on Colfax • They just opened a patio that’s perfect for sunny days Also—amazing service from Jason, Mario, and Lena. Whether you’re craving noodles, small plates, or strong cocktails, this is a must-visit in Denver.

We came here for Asian Food Week and got their meal set deal, an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $25. Overall, I really liked it, the atmosphere is inviting and definitely a cool place you want to spend time inside. We tried the poutine fries, KFC Bao, Shoyu Paitan Ramen, and a new dish, I believe it was called the Mala Noodles (not in the menu). Best things on the menu, Poutine Fries and KFC Bao. The Poutine Fries was a Fusion of Japanese curry, Canadian Cheese bites, and French Fries. Honestly I've never had such an amazing concoction, chef's kiss. And the KFC Bao was so tasty and crunchy! Shoyu Paitan was also packed full of flavor and black garlic, but I did find the sodium level to be a bit too salty. Mala Noodles, this was basically a fried noodle dish with minced beef and Chinese broccoli. Honestly this shouldn't become a permanent menu item, it wasn't that good. Tasted mostly if just noodles, this dish needs a lot of work. Finally, the mochi ice cream was dipped in some crunchy breaded texture, a really nice touch. Service was really slow at the beginning, despite it not being busy at all. But from there on, service was great. Overall, I would come back for sure.
