Got the privilege to attend a concert in the historical concert Hall for Bach classical by the Worcester chorus . Walking into this concert felt very special, the magnificent stairs, and the red carpet leading up to the concert Hall. The concert hall itself has been decorated with lots of paintings of significance and even on the ceiling those ring lights You can feel the weight of the history , art and music. Everything was well organized and lovely. . Really enjoyed the two hours performance.

What a wonderful way to enjoy the works of Edgar Allen Poe! Dress for the spirit of the event. We had a lot of fun, the actors brought these stories to life through their amazing story telling! Highly recommend attending!

Beautiful venue with good acoustics. The annual Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra gala is held here in May and I highly recommend attending it.

Mechanics Hall has some of the very best acoustics! Highly recommend going there for a concert and some it's very similar to Symphany Hall in Boston there are no bad seats. We have been there twice with the last time seeing the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra for Christmas 🎄 and it was a great experience!!!!!

Nice venue. Not super ornate. Floor seats are folding chairs. Balcony seats are tight. The orchestra sounded excellent in there

Beautiful venue for great shows. Hard to think of this amazing architecture in the heart of Worcester - it could be in any city around the world. The staff was so friendly and professional. I felt like I was stepping back into another year, very charming and elegant.

Mechanics Hall is one of the top cultural treasures of Worcester. Completed in 1857, with a unique organ installed ca.1864, this concert and assembly venue continues to serve as a vital resource for the City of Worcester and its cultural communities. An accessible venue for physically handicapped persons.

Yelp
I highly recommend the Mechanics Hall concert venue. This hall has excellent acoustics and an absolutely beautiful grand hall. Mechanics Hall has some of the best acoustics in New England. I have seen and heard so many wonderful concerts at this hall including military bands, jazz, and cabaret acts. They have great free concerts including their "brown bag" concerts. Mechanics Hall is a real jewel in Worcester's cultural crown.

Yelp
Mechanics Hall is a local gem and a national treasure. According to their website, Mechanics Hall has been judged by architectural historians as the nation's finest pre-Civil War concert hall and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. During the mid-20th Century, other newer venues overtook it as the favored place to host events. Thus, it was rented out for professional wrestling matches, roller skating, basketball, dance lessons, 4-H club meetings, etc. Neglect took a serious toll on the health of the Hall, but, when the decision was finally forced to tear it down or to revitalize it, the entire city rallied, raising $5 million to restore the Hall. The Hall is rented out for many purposes, and by many organizations. On this particular Saturday evening, Mechanics Hall was in use by Music Worcester (https://www.musicworcester.org), featuring a performance by Chanticleer. Chanticleer was founded in 1978 and is renowned as "an orchestra of voices" for the seamless blend of its twelve male voices ranging from countertenor to bass and its original interpretations of vocal literature, from Renaissance to jazz, to gospel and new music. It was a great performance in a majestic venue.

Yelp
This is one of the finest music hall on earth. I would say: it is the best of all! Also, it is beautiful, great taste, and evokes a french palace.

Yelp
Love this place. These places make a statement : of old architecture, of old design, of hospitality. There is plenty of parking nearby if you look it up earlier. If you visit the main hall then definitely remember to snap some pics. The back room with the exposed brick walls and faux windows remind one of those New York neighborhoods or the prohibition era bars. Love to visit them twice a year as our organization hosts their mid year and end of year all company meetings.

Yelp
Beautiful venue, there's not much else to say about this place. A show, a play, whatever function, they even do high school proms.

Yelp
What a location! I was here for a Citizenship ceremony and it was a beautiful location. The balcony provided a great place to watch the ceremony. I would love to be there for a music performance.

Yelp
Such a beautiful venue. I actually didn't expect to be in such a glamorous place. Unfortunately the seats are very close to each other. The person in front of you is literary sitting on your lap. I'm a tiny person and the person in front of me was massive. The 3 hours I was at this venue left me with lots of aches and pain. The chairs were just plain wooden. The sound system could have been worked on more. Not a very pleasant evening, the price I had paid for my concert should have accommodated better seating and the whole experience should have been better. Will I come back here? Probably if another favorite artist would be performing here. But next time I would be ready for the discomfort.

Yelp
It's pretty inside. My school held our formal and the hooding&awards ceremony for my graduation here. The space is large with warm lighting. Good balcony area, high dome-like ceiling. I didn't have to deal with the staff like sam s. did so I can't speak about that.... though it sounds pretty horrible.

Yelp
Beautiful venue with some great people working there. We had our wedding reception here on Oct 4th 2014. Be aware that they do not have any in-house catering, so that's a big expense. but you do get the entire venue the entire day of the event, so you aren't competing for space like at a country club or something like that. We had some issues getting the tech working (the groom ended up having to fix it so our videos would play) but that would have been solved by making sure the stuff got there early enough. The other issue was that we were supposed to have valet parking, but apparently that was an additional charge, and hadn't been added to our arrangement, even though we thought it had and we had discussed it with them. This was a huge issue for us since we had a lot of older folks as well as family that is accustomed to having valet at events like this.

Yelp
We held my daughter's wedding here and it was everything we wanted. The venue is magnificent and Joan was absolutely wonderful. She helped us plan and stage everything perfectly. She is very good at her job!!! If you are looking for a magnificent venue for a wedding or other special event, this is it.

Yelp
Mechanics Hall is elegant and impressive. While you are at a concert or event at Mechanics Hall, the atmosphere makes you feel as though you are part of its grandeur.

Yelp
The only reason that I did not give it a five star rating is because I have not held my event yet. My fiancé and I will be married at Mechanics Hall in the summer of 2014. We met with Bob Kennedy, Executive Director. He was so warm, kind, patient and so set on helping to make our experience there one if a kind. When we left to visit other venues my fiancé refused to consider any other place. Bob Kennedy made our experience. When I spoke with him on the phone before the visit he said at the conclusion of our appt we won't want to go anywhere else. He was right. We are thrilled to move forward with our wedding planning at Mechanics Hall.

Yelp
My husband and I had our ceremony and reception at Mechanic's Hall. I initially chose Mechanic's Hall because I was so impressed with how stunning the place looked and how organized and professional the staff was. When it came to my wedding day, the only thing that worked out was how beautiful it was there. We were told many things during are meetings leading up to the wedding. We were told there would be security, a friendly team of staff showing people where to go, people collecting the gifts and putting them in a safe locked room, staff members would be there to help set everything up before the wedding, and we had a wedding coordinator that would be working with us throughout the day. The day of the wedding. Practically no one was there when we arrived. In fact, all the staff members we were promised showed up so late that my HUSBAND AND HIS GROOMSMEN had to set up all the chairs, mop the floor and put together the centerpieces and decorations. Um what?? Yes... if they hadn't of showed up early (thank God they did) none of that would have been done. We were getting married at 2:00p.m and were told to be in place for 1:15 so guests could enter at 1:30. Our wedding coordinator (Sharon) told us she would be there at 11:00a.m to help us... We couldn't find her until 1:00. To make matters worse, we found her showing the venue around TO ANOTHER COUPLE. Our guests were confused. No one was there to show them where to go or where to put there gifts. What happened to the friendly staff we were promised?? Oh and that same staff took the very expensive personalized aisle runner I had and crumpled it up and threw it in the corner. Because the staff and our coordinator didn't show up in time we ended up running so late we didn't get to take any pre-photos and we barely got any photos between the ceremony and the reception. This is a high class venue. For what we payed, I am absolutely disgusted with how everything was handled the day of the wedding. I feel like I was being "sold" the place leading up to the day and then once they had our money, they didn't care anymore. If we didn't have such great parents and an incredible wedding party stepping up and helping get everything done, our wedding we worked so hard on would have pretty much fallen apart. We chose this venue because we wanted to have a relaxing, already organized and taken care of wedding. We thought we wouldn't have to stress or worry about anything and just be able to enjoy our special day. Because of them we had triple the amount of stress we should of had. I DO NOT recommend Mechanic's Hall to anyone planning a wedding. It's beautiful in there but that's not worth paying the ridiculous amount for a careless staff.

Yelp
Nothing quite prepares you for entering the Main Hall upstairs. The building dates back to 1857, and is an architectural masterpiece. Stunning portraits of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln grace either side of the main stage, with other portraits of local historical figures surround the balcony. The ceiling, walls, wooden balcony, and stage are all archictecturally stunning. Performances and lectures read like a whose who of history-Enrico Caruso, Mark Twain, Henry David Thoreau, Charles Dickens, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton,Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Beverly Sills, Henry Mancini, Tony Bennett, Yo Yo Ma and Winton Marsalis are only some of the figures gracing the stage here. Fantastic place to see a concert as the acoustics are incredidle. Ony downside is it only seats about a thousand. Come here for a show, your jaw will drop.
