London’s New Restaurant Openings

"Med Salleh, a mini-chain with Malaysian and Vietnamese restaurants in Bayswater and Westbourne Grove, has opened a Vietnamese spot in Earl’s Court. The new sit-down space underneath the Dreamtel hotel is serving things like rare beef phở, lemongrass chicken chop, and deep-fried banana fritters for dessert. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Such an adorable little place. We were looking for some hearty warm food and found this beautiful Vietnamese restaurant. I had the vegan summer rolls which were incredibly refreshing and the mushrooms were so meaty!!! And the dipping sauces were amazing they packed a punch but were the ultimate combo of sweet and tangy. The pho (I had the vegan one) was amazing the broth was rich and there were so many vegetables and good things inside. I could barely finish as it is a generous portion. We loved the atmosphere and coziness. We will definitely come back!!

This is probably the best Vietnamese food in London. The friendly manager, Flara, upon realising we spoke Cantonese, made a great effort to introduce each dish and explain the preparation in detail—in Cantonese. I’ve never seen anyone pour a special beef bone broth over signature Rare Beef Pho right in front of the customer. This simple yet thoughtful gesture brought out a unique depth of flavour and the perfect temperature in the dish. The fried chicken wings were perfectly seasoned—not greasy at all. The Refreshing Mango Salad was truly exceptional: it lacked the usual sourness often associated with mangoes, and the house-made dressing made it incredibly refreshing and appetising. We also ordered the Lemon Grass Chicken Chop on Rice. The pieces of grilled chicken, paired with the classic Southeast Asian satay sauce, were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying it. Finally, the dessert Kerisik Pandan Coconut Pudding was a lovely finish, with crispy shredded coconut and fresh lychee coming together in perfect harmony. Overall, every dish reminded me of the food I used to enjoy during my younger days living in Asia.

Excellent local Vietnamese restaurant. I visited around lunch time on a Saturday. It wasn’t too busy and I really appreciated seeing locals. The food was delicious and would absolutely go again. Personally, the star of the show was the Chicken Bun Cha. It was packed with flavour. The staff were friendly and the service was overall good, however, I had to wait quite a while for my food, which is why I’ve given it 4 stars - I would have given 4 1/2 if that was possible. Other than that, I had a positive experience.

Thank you to the team, to the chefs on putting so much effort on making the meals as making them taste this good!! The dessert was sooo good too! Must try the Kerisik Pandan Coconut, the spring rolls and their sauces did not disappoint and obviously the Original Beef Rare Pho was to die for!! Med Salleh might just quietly be the best place for Vietnamese food in London and they serve a rare beef pho that's the stuff of legends. The owner, Koi told us all the recipes here belong to his wife and have been passed down across generations. Even though some feel it is a tad pricey, we definitely think it's worth it. Their rare beef pho comes with a special beef and chicken bone marrow broth that's left to simmer for 18 hours and then poured tableside on the pho. This was easily the best pho we've had in London although admittedly that's still a limited sample size. We also loved their grilled squid and lemon grass chicken chop with rice. The grilled chicken was paired with a traditional sauce that really elevated it. Special shout out to the waiters and the customer service here, it was incredible. They also have a Malaysian street food branch located at Inverness Terrace and another Vietnamese food branch in Earl's Court. Damage🤑💸💰 Classic Rare Beef Pho - £16.9 Whole Squid - £24.9 Lemon Grass Chicken Chop with Rice - £14.9 Crispy Spring Rolls - £7.9 Banana Fritters - £7.5 Dripping Coffee - £4.5

This is honestly my favourite Vietnamese place. I always get the prawn summer rolls, they’re the best in London (and I’ve tried a lot). All of the pho is 10/10. The iced lime tea is perfect. The staff are absolutely lovely and amazing. Such a cute and lovely place, I recommend 100%. Shout out to the manager Flora Chu! Thank you so much for always treating us well xx

This place was such a cute find. The restaurant is located in a good spot, not too far from the station and is in a nice area. The food itself was amazing! All halal, big portions, good prices! The food also came quite quickly too which is always a good thing. The staff were absolutely lovely, constantly refilling our waters and checking in on us. The dessert was also so yummy, really refreshing. Big shoutout to Flora, the manager on shift - she was so kind and welcoming, great customer service which goes for all the staff here. I would definitely come back.

Genuinely, I haven’t been able to cross this off my list for a while because it’s far away from me but it is SO worth the trip! Karen’s service was incredible, she was so sweet and efficient. She lowered the shade for my rather sunny window seat without me having to ask and provided excellent recommendations. GUYS!! The food is incredible! And entirely halal! I tried the rare beef pho and it was SO flavourful and soft. Normally I prefer spicier flavours with more depth but this pho was not missing any flavours. Excellent food, excellent service, cannot wait to come back again. Well worth the trek!!!
