I read about this place in Gothamist and I just had to know for myself. It’s a clean narrow space with self service touch screens to order from. The first one is right by the doorway so you might miss it if you’re not paying attention. Was planning on getting chicken curry but it was sold out on my visit. Fortunately there are plenty of delicious options. Ended up with the Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang and the Curry Laksa Noodle. The Nasi Lemak was delicious, full of great flavours, the rice was little heavy. The peanuts were quite a bit spicier than I expected based on previous experience but tasty in moderation. The Beef Rendang component was a total win and I would heartily recommend it. The Curry Laksa noodle comes in a clever takeaway box that keeps the toppings out of the broth while in transit. This worked out as my food was still in great shape when I got it home 45 minutes later. It’s flavourful but did cause me to sweat a little with the spice 😅. I’d definitely eat here again.

Had the roast chicken with wonton, and beef rendang. Both were very tasty and well priced. They have self service kiosks which were nice especially during covid

Wonderful, authentic tasting Malaysian food at an affordable price. Discovered this gem through Chowbus. So far I’ve sampled their delicious curry laksa noodle soup which comes neatly packaged with soup base separated from the noodles, protein and condiments. Beef rendang and curry ayam (chicken) are also great. Both curries are listed as sides in the menu, and are also options as part of the nasi lemak platters (national dish of Malaysia).

Everything there is good. The prices were more than reasonable - I would have been willing to pay a lot more. Ambiance is a little lacking. It's more of a quick eat or to go place.

Really loved the food here and will definitely be back to try the other dishes! Prices and portions were great too - they could easily charge a couple extra dollars per dish if they wanted to. Would highly recommend the prawn fritters!

Finally I tried this place🥳 ordered chicken Nasi lemak (spicy🙀) and half chicken online to pickup. Good food! Will definitely come back to try other dishes. Decent portion and very tasty. My friend also order Bubur chacha, tasty!! I ordered through some app which is slightly more expensive. Highly recommend ordering the light their own website!

Medan Pasar just opened and it is a neighborhood delight!! 🇲🇾🍚🍗🤩 We ordered the Nasi Lemak with Beef Randang and the Chicken Asamz The Nasi Lemak was flavorful, perfectly balanced, and deliciously spicy without killing one’s taste buds. The beef, though a tad fatty, was tender and succulent. The Chicken Asam did not disappoint! It’s basically just a very flavorful and spicy chicken curry with potatoes, which I loved. It’s technically a side dish but a generous portion for just $6 and perfect if you have rice at home or want to order rice from them. I’ll come back to try more!! Unfortunately we 100% scarfed the food down before snapping a pic, so, here’s a photo of the take out bag and menu. (Kudos to them on the cute minimalist design too!)

A no fuss, cheap, and delicious Malay restaurant with self service ordering. For a quick bite, good portion, and good value, you won’t be disappointed.
