Going to Medieval Times Is Even Better as an Adult | Eater

"Often drenched in ’90s nostalgia, this castle-style dinner theater—which began in Spain in 1973 and expanded to the U.S. a decade later—now operates about ten arenas across the United States and Canada and says it has hosted over 72 million guests. Patrons are seated in color-coded cheering sections to watch a standardized pageant in which Queen Maria Isabella (the company’s first queen, crowned in 2018) presides over falconry, jousting, staged swordfights and equestrian dressage, with squires sweeping up broken lances and stable debris between bouts. The food is simple but surprisingly satisfying: plastic pewter-colored mugs of Pepsi or lemonade, bowls of creamy tomato bisque with bread for dipping, and a hands-on main of half a roasted chicken, a roasted potato and a massive boneless pork rib; adults can also buy boozy frozen daiquiris and fruity rum punch served in commemorative cups (drinks plus tip can run roughly $30). The attraction leans into theatrical kitsch—flower crowns, souvenir glasses and a merch shop—and can feel as joyful for adults reclaiming childhood delight as it is wondrous for kids moved by the Andalusian horses. Notwithstanding the charm, there are real criticisms: workers at locations in New Jersey and California have filed for union elections citing unsafe conditions and weak harassment protections, and the squire-to-knight training path remains restricted to men for the sake of “accuracy,” a controversial anachronism. All told, it’s an exuberant, slightly absurd spectacle that delivers memorable pageantry, communal cheering (and booing), and unexpectedly decent grub." - Amy McCarthy

Fun for any occasion, not just a birthday or anniversary. Be prepared for a fun and engaging show, and you may just get a flower thrown to you. Show up an hour before to enjoy pre show festivities, pay for upgrades (seating, photos- worth it, being knighted, and other souvenirs), enjoy drinks, and see the horses and falcons in their stalls (behind clear wall). Good traditional meal that’s made well. Great drinks, and desert was a simple eclair. Part of an upgrade is birthday cake, and I believe it’s a slice of vanilla with chocolate or Boston cream- I didn’t eat mine and traded for more soul with my neighbor 😜. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Atmosphere is engaging and tribal (to your knight’s color!), and photos are welcome. Military discount for original tickets was great. Inside, it’s all on you for any upgraded purchases. Overall, fun memory for everyone.

Google
It was a spur of the moment, end of our vacation decision to go check out this performance. We had two parents, a teen and a 5 year old in our party, and all four of us enjoyed the event. The food was well seasoned, and our squire was courteous and swift. Overall, it was a fun evening for the whole family!

Google
This was a fun activity with family and friends. The food was surprisingly very good, very soft chicken and soda refill. The menu was tomato soup, bread, chicken, potato, corn, and eclair for dessert. There are also drinks from the bar if you want for extra money. The full course and a great show all this for $76. It was fun and keeps you engaged. A little uncomfortable if your chair is in the middle of the row very difficult to get up so be sure to go to the restroom before the show. Also lots of people so there’s a huge line for the restroom. Also there’s a lot to see so be there at least an hour before the show. Also try to park near the exit cause there will be a long line of cars after. I recommend to go at least once in your life.

Every time we’re in LA or Anaheim, it’s a must to make the drive to Buena Park for Medieval Times. It’s more than just dinner and a show, it’s a full-blown experience that never fails to deliver. The action packed tournament, the live horses, the jousting, it’s all incredibly well done and keeps you locked in from start to finish. And let’s not forget the iconic roasted chicken dinner, no utensils, just hands-on, delicious food that hits the spot every single time. This place has become one of my favorite stops in all of California. It’s fun, immersive, and consistently entertaining. If you’ve never been, you’re missing out on a true classic.

We had a great time with the family! I brought my two boys (8 and 9 years old) and my 18-year-old daughter — everyone had a blast. One of my sons was even recording the action to show grandma later. My wife and daughter had a lot of fun, though they were tripping out at first that there are no utensils — definitely added to the medieval vibe! The food was delicious and served in generous portions. All the seats in the house offer a great view, so you really can’t go wrong. We arrived about 10 minutes before the show, and while parking was pretty full by then, we didn’t have to wait for the doors to open. We did miss the pre-show welcome, so I’d recommend arriving earlier to catch that part of the experience. Overall, it’s a fun, family-friendly night out — highly recommended!

Google
It was an absolutely amazing experience. The show was excellent. Very helpful staff . The food was very good. Overall a great place to take the family. It was my birthday celebration and my name was mentioned alongside other birthday greetings which added another amazing aspect to my visit. I would Highly recommend for everyone.

Google
I had such a good time watching the show that I definitely will come back in the future. Everyone we interacted with was friendly. The dinner was simple but delicious especially the tomato soup. The horses was magnificent and the knights amazing to watch. The price of tickets may seem high but if you think about the amount of time and energy it takes to put on a show, the price point is a steal, dinner and live entertainment plus beautiful horses, what more can I ask for.

Google
Very organized. Food is blah. Service is great. Show was good. Horses are beautiful they better take good care of them or so help me God lol Everything in the gift shop is a tad bit pricey. Restrooms are clean. I would give it a 7 out of 10. If I was kid I'd probably give it a 9 out of 10. So overall 7.9 out of 10 experience. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Yelp
Amazing show and food, and especially amazing service from the gift shop counter employees. Everyone at the gift shop counter was excited to help me, especially Nathan and Sabrina, the other's names I forgot.

Yelp
This place is so fun!! Definitely a must try thing to do in the Buena Park area! The horses are beautiful, the actors put on a great show and they do a good job on making the crowd participate! The food was ok. It was strange eating without cutlery so sneak some in lol they give you a good amount of chicken. I enjoyed my seasoned corn on the cob. The dessert was ok. Server was great. My one thing is I wished the seats were a bit roomy and I would like to know if the horses are well taken care of. Go team Yellow and Red!!!

Yelp
My wife wanted to do something family oriented but beyond just dinner at a restaurant (or a movie), and chose Medieval times. There are a number of packages to chose from which provide a few extra perks to commemorate your attendance...our package came with three 5x7 photos of all us sporting crowns...in our party was my wife (bday girl), me, my oldest daughter (17) and our little one 3yrs old. We got there early so I found parking very quickly. That said, the venue has a private parking lot. They have a huge receiving/waiting area to purchase snacks and souvenirs, and many little alcoves for photo opportunities. Also, one can see the horses chill'en out in their stalls before the show as well as actors dressed in their colors...wandering around. The arena itself is massive...holding at least 800 people...maybe more. Attendees are organized into groups according to a color ( representing a knight that you'll cheer for during the show). Your family or group sits with others in the same color. The seating is arranged like any arena or stadium vs a restaurant. Our server was friendly and fast...mostly because the menu is fixed...everyone gets soup, bread.m and chicken...no silverware...eat with your hands! There may be 30 mins reserved for eating, the remaining 90 plus mins is dedicated to the show. The actors and performers did a great job! They had everyone including my 3yr old! Cheering during the entire event! I'm not sure how different shows there are from night to night... do they change? What we saw was a lot of fun! I don't want to give too much away just in case the show doesn't change much...it was a lot of fun and a festive way to spend a Bday !

Yelp
I had such an incredible time at Medieval Times, we drove up from San Diego and our group of 12 wore renaissance like outfits to match the ambiance! Since we had a larger party we had ordered the VIP package, that way we could have better seating, it was really worth it maybe only $10 more than buying the tickets face value. The line to get in an situated was pretty quick, we were sorted into our houses, Black and White represent. Before we got sat we decided to get our cocktails in advance and I ended up getting the pina colada in the Medieval Times stein. The pina colada was so good, it didn't even taste like alcohol. Our server was Steve, he was super friendly and made sure we were all nicely settled in. After the introduction of the knights, we got our first course of "Dragons Blood," tomato soup with garlic toast. It was tasty, I rarely have tomato soup so this was comforting with the cold weather. Next we had roast chicken aka baby dragons, my chicken was super succulent and flavorful. Others around me said their chicken was dry, the only dry thing I ate was the roast potatoes, super dry and chalky in my mouth but the corn was super juicy, loved that. Then for desserts, we had an eclair, that was questionable, the filling was grainy, didn't even bother to finish it. The show itself was super fun, lots of interaction from the crowd and my friend even got a rose thrown by our knight. I had such a good time, I'd go back and bring my stein for a discount on my cocktail.

Yelp
Fun for families when looking for a show/dinner! We were in town for Disneyland and wanted to do a non-Disney restaurant on non-Disney property and this was perfect. My kids and nephews enjoyed cheering for Team Red and loved booing the other colors. The food was as expected, just ok- I didn't have high expectations. Roast chicken, tomato soup, a half potato and bread. Food you would expect during this time. Service was good it was just a little annoying I had to keep handing our server every single dish. Like, why? And really no utensils? Even after the pandemic? They should just get rid of this rule. They wouldn't let me have a fork since I wasn't elderly, a toddler or handicap. This place is definitely a one and done for me but I wouldn't be opposed to going again for a special occasion.

Yelp
We had a family visit here after our recent visit to Knott's Berry Farm. MT is pretty close to Knott's and we were all hungry and tired from a busy day. Knott's closed at 6pm, and the show started at MT at 7pm, so it was a perfect fit! We had made reservations ahead of time, and note: they DO offer a military discount! They got us checked in and sat pretty efficiently, all with the fanfare we'd expected as part of the show. Coming from a chilly, somewhat foggy day at Knott's, I think it's important to note that it is COLD in the arena! For kids or that always cold girl in your group, bring a coat! The show was BANANAS! We loved the falconer, the dressage was stunning, and the battles were exciting and got everyone cheering! The food was surprisingly good! Our server, Arthur, was awesome. We enjoyed each course, and had some to take back to our hotel. Pro tip: TRY THE HONEY MEAD! For us, it was about getting to see the overall experience, not necessarily for the photo, and def NOT for the light up cheapie tchotchkes. We wanted to see what all The Cable Guy fandom was about and we all had a stellar times! We had 4 adults, a teen and a tween and that's a hard demo to impress, and we all LOVED the food and show! HUZZAH to the Yellow Knight, we ain't angry at you love, you're the greatest thing we lost!

Yelp
No better way to celebrate a birthday than a surprise birthday dinner at Medieval Times. Husband described the place as an American establishment that's kinda fancy casual. Oh boy, was I shocked! I also got a different surprise seeing a few close friends at the entrance to celebrate with us lol! We checked in as VIP and got seated in the first row for rink side views of the battle that was to commence. Dinner was meh, but you're really here for the show. You start with tomato bisque and garlic bread. Then your main is the chicken thigh followed by a profiterole for dessert. Nothing fancy since you're required to eat with your hands - no utensils. Show was fun. I don't recommend front row since you get the occasional kick up of sand. The barrier and nets are nice during intense battle scenes, but it doesn't block the smell. Great to experience at least once in your life and nice to let loose while competitively cheering for your section.

Yelp
Came here several times growing up but recently, I came with a party of 6 and had a blast. There are typically coupons online, you just have to find them. People also don't really know this but there are two lines when walking in and your whole entire party doesn't have to be there when checking in. Anyways, after getting your ticket, you proceed with getting your team color. Everything went smoothly except for an encounter with this one female staff member. She was quite passive-aggressive when she told us she wouldn't accept our ticket because it were distributed within our group, when all she wanted was for it to be piled together. That was our mistake but in our defense, no one told us. On the bright side, the male staff member who crowned us afterward was kind and conversational! We later got our photos taken and waited in the lounge where drinks or souvenirs can be bought. Getting seated and watching the show was very nostalgic. The introduction, games, and energy were similar to what I remembered. As for the food, the garlic bread was garlicky, soft, and warm. The tomato soup was hot and flavorful. The potato was baked and hot. The corn was delicious, easy to eat, and got me wanting more. The chicken was very well seasoned, juicy, and large. The cream puff for dessert wasn't the best but it was still good. If you can't finish your food, they also provide take out boxes. The server was prompt with our food and very much in character. No fork or spoon since you're traveling back to the medieval times. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience, except for that one staff encounter. Parking is free.

Yelp
Great experience, the entire staff stayed in character which made it fun. The place is cold so make sure to wear a jacket. The food was okay. The chicken was slightly dry, the potato was hard the corn on the Cobb was juicy w/lots of flavor. My favorite dish was the dragon's blood & toast. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
This venue is first come first seated even with advanced tickets. Our party is big and arrived at separate times. They were able to arrange and sit us together. So we don't have to wait in line till every one arrives. Food is surprisingly ok. Just no utensils provided throw me off. But everyone has a great time there. Service is excellent.

Yelp
I forget how fun and entertaining Medieval Times was! You don't have to be a kid to enjoy all the knights, action, and majestic horses Medieval Times has to offer. Pleasantly surprised that they changed the storyline so the show feels less predictable. Even if you aren't into this sort of thing - the actors and staff will quickly get you to warm up and put you into character. I could get used to be calling "milady," wearing a crown, and eating without utensils. The food is better than expected and comes with a non alcoholic drink with a single refill. The meal consists of: - Dragon blood soup (tomato bisque) + garlic bread: The soup was so good and the bread was hot and crisp. - Baby dragon (roasted chicken ) with potato and corn on the cob: The chicken was pretty big. How they cooked the chicken so moist for a big crowd is beyond me. Paired with the potato and corn and you'll be full for sure (and happy). - Chocolate eclair served with coffee: custard on the inside of a profiterole, topped with chocolate. This was so-so. I appreciate this being paired with coffee though. You are assigned a section / knight you will be cheering for upon entry. Seat sections are based upon the order you arrived. However, there really aren't any bad seats! Feel free to come a little earlier to explore the castle before watching your show. Enjoy!

Yelp
First time here! And all I can say is GREEN,GREEN, GREEN! This place went above all my expectations from entertainment to the service that this place provided. The show was entertaining and I got lucky to be on the side that was fired up from the very beginning to the end of the show. Everything from chants to taunting was going on. My favorite color is Red but I was glad to be on Green's side. Next was the service. Everything from the smiles on the employees faces to the food service was on point shout out to Rob our server for being attentive. Having been in food service/ hospitality for more than 5 years as a server to manager I always have a standard that I look for in places that I visit and dine and I know that it's not always easy being around people especially during the holidays. My nephew had an incident during the show which needed a clean up by the staff. The event staff and Rob went above and beyond to make sure that our group was ok, even got my nephew a change of clothes, and when my nephew got cleaned up and went back to his seat he enjoyed the rest of the show. So thank you again to all the event staff, cleaners and Rob for taking care my family when one of the kids did not feel well. On the ride back home my brothers and I could not stop talking about our experience and it was a great way to spend time with family and friends and is a great way to join into some friendly competition against other people. Thank you guys for a great time. And thank you for taking care of my group . We will be back!

Yelp
This was way more fun than I expected! We went as a group of adults so I was worried it might just be for children, but we har a great time. They have a great deal where if you buy two glasses of the same wine they will just give you the bottle to enjoy during the show. The eating with our hands and period piece of the whole show was really fun. The roasted chicken was actually really good! The soup, potato and corn were super delicious too!! I was not too into the dessert personally but other people in my party enjoyed it. The staff was all very attentive and the show was super entertaining!! I was not expecting the special effects and lighting - we got really into the story! I wish they had more frequently changing story lines just so we could go again soon!

Yelp
Came here for the first time and honestly it was pretty cool! Enjoyed the show. The service was outstanding! Good was decent. Definitely felt Like I was in one of those medieval time days haha

Yelp
It was a very fun experience for the whole family. We purchased the VIP pass and got really good seats because we came early. It is a little hectic outside with people coming out from the pervious show, people waiting to be seated and people purchasing merchandise and drinks. Our staff was very nice. It looks like they were short staffed because our staff was also in the performance. Food was decent but the dessert was not so good. The show was fun to watch but it was very choreographed. Overall it was a good first experience.

Yelp
I came here for an adult friend's birthday party. So fifteen of us were able to get the party package which came with a group photo, cake and drink. As I entered, They provided crowns in different colors. Our group was given RED. They also sit you in sections by your color. For the tournament, our section chanted "RED, RED, RED!" I would say there are cool things about this place. However, it is definitely catered towards the younger crowds. I would say the BEST thing about this establishment is the FREE private parking. The worst would have to be the food. The food is similar to cafeteria quality with cakes that taste market bought. If there is a next time, I will eat beforehand. Since they give to-go boxes, I will donate the food to someone else...

Yelp
This place rules Ambiance - dudes literally sword fight and do fun things on horses while you eat. The food is actually pretty decent. Better chicken than El Pollo Loco and the tomato soup doesn't suck. The lack of silverware is part of the charm. The staff are all friendly and yeah this is a great feast for people of all ages. The only bummer about this place is that the seating sucks if you're over six feet tall and all legs

Yelp
I don't know how I've never heard of this place prior to recently, but there's a long history of showmanship and entertainment at this place. It gets you in a competitive mood, and you'll feel a bond of friendship or even brotherhood after the event. Price isn't too bad considering that dinner is included, and often Groupon will have deals too. After coming in, you'll be sorted into a team like the sorting hat. Afterwards there's an area that gets photographed, and then into this large waiting area with several bars serving alcohol on tap. The drinks here are expensive, even more so than the Hollywood bars, but I guess it's because you can keep the cup. Then going into the main arena, you'll be seated based on the team that you were assigned, and from there you watch the show. Starts off slowly, with introductions of the knights, and you slowly start to get behind them for the competitions, including horseriding, jostling, and ultimately one on one battles. The story and history about the different knights apparently change frequently too so it's interesting to listen along if you like medieval knights lore, and the fighting is also not bad. Dinner is served in the meantime, where everything is eaten solely with your hands. No utensils given because it's the medieval times! Wet towlettes are provided though. Surprisingly the chicken I got was pretty good! The meat and the skin was seasoned well, and it was gigantic and not dry at all (at least the dark meat of the thigh wasn't), so I actually got pretty full. There's also tomato soup, a potato skin, garlic bread, a drink, and a dessert.

Yelp
I can't believe I forgot to leave a review! We all came here in May for my son's birthday. My boyfriend surprised me by taking part in the "knighting ceremony" and then proceeded to propose to me! It was all so very special. And he even bought me a tiara there, and beautiful "royal goblets"! Yes, I know it's kinda corny but so very sweet. The show was great and our server was so friendly. People were coming up to us to congratulate us. I even got a flower from our knight! Thanks for making our special day extraordinary!

Yelp
I've visited Medieval Times once before when I was in 7th grade for a school field trip and it's been about 15 years since then but I remember it being really fun so I decided to come for my birthday this year. You have to book/pay online and if you sign up for their birthday rewards program you'll get a discount code to use for up to 30 days after your birthday! There's also a welcome code just for signing up that's a smaller discount if you wanted to go not during your birthday month or for any another occasion. We had a group of 16 people and everyone arrived at their own pace. Doors opened at 6 pm and as long as you give the hosts the reservation holders name, they'll seat you all together inside. You'll get a card with your table number on it which will be collected once you've been seated. You also get assigned a color for which knight you'll be rooting for and they give you a paper crown in that color. Before the show starts, you can get drinks at the bar or shop their many gift stores/stands. Once you're inside and seated, the show starts with dinner being served throughout. The whole show is super entertaining and the food is good and plenty (plenty as in I definitely needed a to-go box at the end). You start off with tomato bisque and garlic bread. Then, the main course comes with half a roasted chicken, corn on the cob, and a baked potato. Dessert is an eclair with coffee. You also get two refills of either water, lemonade, pepsi, or sprite throughout the show. You can also order more alcoholic beverages with your server if you'd like. I definitely recommend coming here at least once in your life to experience it!

Yelp
Ok, here's the full rundown on the food situation since it was hard for me to find full information on it. The standard meal is garlic bread, tomato soup, about half a chicken, half corn on the cob, half a seasoned potato, and a dessert (ours was an eclair but maybe they change it now and then). The garlic bread and tomato soup are brought out first, then when the King and Queen say it's time to feast, they bring out your chicken, then corn and potato. Lastly, there's the eclair and coffee if you want it. Was pleasantly surprised by the food as I know you're not there for the quality of the food, but the chicken was seasoned well and moist, potato was also seasoned well, corn was tender, and the tomato soup was tasty! The vegetarian meal is the exact same, except instead of chicken, you get a stew of rice, beans, and tomatoes, with a side of carrots, celery, pita bread, and hummus. Honestly, it was all a lot of food and they give you to-go boxes if you want to take food home. Also, you don't get silverware (except for the stew) since it's part of the experience but they do give you wet wipes to use for your hands after you dig into your meal. The show: So much fun! I don't know what I was expecting but the fighting and action was great and got me yelping in surprise at times. We were the yellow team! I won't give anything else away. The service: The servers (wenches) are so nice and really into their role. Justine served us, and she was very attentive and enthusiastic! You can tip your servers at the end with card, cash, or Venmo. Overall, my family had such a great time and also had leftovers to enjoy the next day. ALSO, check the website for discount codes, since it seems they have them more often than not.

Yelp
I visited this past Saturday with a group of friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and the show; however, 4 out of the 8 people (including myself) experienced food poisoning not soon after. The show itself was nice as they recently released a new story. The acting and performance were eye catching and grandeur, which encouraged each group to cheer on their assigned knights in hopes of victory. The server was patient and polite. She served the food in a timely manner and checked in occasionally. I did notice that some of the platters of food were touching their clothing, which was a bit concerning. In terms of the food, it was to be expected. The lighting was dim so you're not able to inspect the food, but it was mostly dry and could benefit from some side sauce (although it's all part of the experience?). The corn was the best thing on the plate in my opinion. I suspect the chicken might have been the culprit to our food poisoning. I'm a bit concerned about the food safety practices held behind the scenes if half of the group experienced abdominal pain (stomach pain/cramps), nausea, vomiting and diarrhea soon after the show concluded. I suspect the chicken was not stored properly or they were told to still serve spoiled products. For its price at $73.95 (adult) + tax, it was an expensive dinner and a show with a side of potential food poisoning, so I caution you to consider that before attending.

Yelp
Giant shoutout to all the staff there! From the beginning to the end, every staff member was awesome! They were all in character, great with the kids, and really ensured the experience was well worth it! I actually had bought tickets before 2020 and couldn't use them, and I was able to rebook them in 2024 recently. I was worried I would not be able to use them after so long! But I called them on the phone and they were so welcoming and kind. We even added to our party with ease! So talking to them on the phone for any issues is very swift and easy! The atmosphere is incredible. The gardens outside, the inside interior, it is truly breathtaking and awesome. Before the actual show, you get to browse the horses, falcon area, and look at the souveniors and of course, get a nice drink before the show! I actually felt the souveniors were decently priced. We were able to get some kids toys and shirts for under 100 bucks (for 2-3 kids). It was awesome! You also get to meet the king and queen before the show! Dinner was actually delicious. Our server, Serf Mateo, giant giant shoutout for him. He enagaged with our kids so well, and he did such a great job with prompt service and getting us to eat. You get plently of chicken, tomato bisque (it was so good!) , texas toast, corn and potatoes. Even without silverware, they give you plently of wet napkins to clean up. The dessert was also really good flavor! The show, I just cannot explain how awesome it was. For the length of show, there was enough drama, suspense, action, and storyline to go around for just about everyone! We had kids of all ages (2 yrs old to 14) and everyone truly enjoyed it. The server even gave us a booster for our 2 year old to see better. Once we left, we already wanted to go back! Thank you to Medieval Times for blowing it out of the park for our family! We will definately be back for the show! SERF MATEO, YOU ROCK!! (GO YELLOW TEAM!)

Yelp
The experience was really good, more entertaining than I thought it would be. BUT I went with 6 other adults and 1 child, almost all of us got sick with a cold/flu virus about 2 -3 days after going there. So one of your workers came to work sick and passed it on to the attendees. It has put quite a damper on our New Years. We went last Saturday on 12/28. This flu virus that was passed on has Sucked!!

Yelp
Food is ok but you're there for the show. Scream your heart out for the knight you're cheering for and embrace the atmosphere then you'll forget about the over priced drink you paid for. Arrive early to get good seats. Don't pay for VIP they just sat a level lower than us. The knighting ceremony was worth it as my kid got knighted before the show, got a light up sword and a picture for like $40.

Yelp
So much fun for kids and adults. I've been wanting to revisit here as I only came as a child and couldn't remember much. It's a blast. The kids get super into cheering on for their knights. And the show and dinner is well coordinated. And the food is actually much better than what I was expecting. The server was great. The horses were beautiful. Some people came dressed up. Highly recommend for everyone.

Yelp
My friends and I came here dressed as shrek for my friend's birthday. I felt as though the costumes were perfect for the vibe. You can get drinks before hand, I had a the tallest beer which was $30 but you can get $10 refills inside and keep the glass (I didn't need another glass but I digress). I haven't been to a medieval times since I was younger so I forgot they don't give you silverware which I get is part of the vibe but also not something I enjoy. The service was really great and everything was brought out throughout the show. You are able to get a to go box. The show is good but I do feel bad for the horses. You are able to take pictures with the knights after ward.

Yelp
This place is so much fun . Great to come celebrate a birthday or any special occasion. Get there about 50-30 mins earlier . Parking is a bit complicated because you share with Porto's. Once you arrive check in and get your self your tickets. Get your crowns and get your group picture taken by the pros. Grab your self a drink at the bar and enjoy the ambiance. If you have kiddos get they a coo flag or something from the gift shop. Meal is set you get one of each it is enough. It may seam like it's not. Staff is so nice . You can get more drinks from the bar they will come to you and take your order. Sit back and enjoy the show . If you are lucky you might get a flower from the knight .. enjoy

Yelp
I am SO happy I got to experience Medieval Times. I remember hearing about this experience as a child and thinking it was the coolest thing ever, but never being able to go. A group of us celebrated my friend's birthday recently and I was pleasantly surprised at how many groups of adults put on a themed outfit and spent their Saturday at Medieval Times. This is fun for all ages! The service was amazing and the portions were HUGE. I never thought I'd get so into a joust! IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES, BE SURE TO TAKE WHATEVER MEDICATION YOU PREFER BEFORE SEEING THE SHOW. There are horses and a lot of dust involved, so take whatever precautions you need

Yelp
Such a nostalgic feeling going to medieval times last night with friends. It took me back to my childhood. Parking was easy to access, plenty of friendly staff members around to help you get to where you need to be. The bar had strong drinks for a fair price. The food was ok but nothing special (chicken, corn, soup, garlic bread, dessert). The seats were a bit small and were very close to each other. The performances of knights were very entertaining. My favorite part was the hawk flying around the arena. The overall production was fun.

Yelp
Took our friend here for his birthday and had so much fun!! :) To put it plainly this is food & a show. Great for all us iPad babies out there. The food is about what you would expect, just the simple stuff, but just the right amount of yummy for medieval food. You get to eat with ur hands, drink fun drinks (if that's ur vibe), and most importantly watch a whole bunch of dudes ride horses and fight. It's good wholesome fun for friends and family.

Yelp
Such a fun place to go for all ages! When you get there you can explore an outdoor courtyard, go to the bar (for adults), see the sword shop, souvenir shops and an area where you can see horses and falcons before the show starts! The show itself was exciting to watch! Everyone gets assigned to a color, which is essentially the knight you'll cheer for. The energy here is super high and it's fun to see everyone constantly cheering for their color! The horses would do tricks and there's a match between the knights. The food was OK. You get tomato soup with a garlic toast, a potato slice, a corn, roasted chicken and an eclair. Everything was lightly warm and bland and the dessert tasted weird. But, I'm guessing they're just trying to really follow the medieval theme and that's why nothing tasted seasoned. Overall, a really fun experience! And I'd highly recommend bringing your kids!

Yelp
it had been a decade since I had been to Medieval Times, and I remember it being fun, but this last visit, I took my daughter for her 12th birthday, and it wasn't just a good time, it was EPIC!!! The knights really sell the choreography. You forget it's a show. The entire cast is so on point, from the queen, to the knights, to their squires, to even the servers!! This place is a well oiled machine. The chicken was falling off the bone, I wish they'd provide some salt, but I didn't ask. My picky child loved the tomato bisque. And the corn was delightful. We will definitely do this again soon. my daughter and mine voices are hoarse from SCReaming for our knight, and my husband also just had the best time.

Yelp
It's always a fun time here, dinner and a show what more can you ask for? The servers are always super nice and the food is actually great. My first thought was that the food wouldn't be good because we are there for the show but they went past that expectation and went above it. It's so fun inside cheering for your team and watching everything unfold is a great time.

Yelp
Looking for an experience for the whole family and fun for all ages?! This is the place to be. We went here to celebrate my sister's birthday. It could be pricey but we were able to find a Groupon which cut the cost from $73.95 to $49.95 for adults and from $46.95 to $35.95 for children. The nice thing is that this is the price of a show with food included. It's nice because they provide a vegetarian or gluten free meal option. I ended up choosing the standard meal and was able to come back home with food still. The meal came with garlic bread, tomato soup, chicken (2 big pieces on the bone), half potato seasoned, and corn. For dessert, they served a small chocolate eclair. Coffee was provided as well. Jasmine was our server for our table and she was amazing serving us our food and drinks quickly.

Yelp
Pretty interesting experience. It's worth a trip to check out. Food is pretty standard, so focus on the show. If you like the medieval stuff, I'm sure it'll be right up your alley.

Yelp
Regardless of what age, you'll have the best time here! Be prepared for an exciting show full of knights, sword fighting, horse showmanship and my favorite part, winning the heart of the Queen. Don't forget to bring your appetite as you cheer for your team! This is a memory sure to be imbedded in your memory. A special thank you goes out to Ms. E Garcia for going out of her way to make our time at Medieval Times an even more spectacular experience. Thank you, My Lady!

Yelp
Let's be clear, the food is absolutely horrendous but the show is amazing. We paid for VIP tickets which are just above $80 each and include a printed photo of you and your group, early entry for seats, your meal, drink, dessert, and coffee. I was amazed at how crowded it was because the only other time I came here was during on of our senior nights in high school many moons ago, so I'm happy they're still generating so much business. It was rather crowded inside but staff kept everyone organized and checked in quickly. There are not many seats in the waiting area, just a few tables and chairs so expect to be standing. There is an opportunity to order drinks at the bar but many of the margaritas and mixed drinks are pre-made and poured out of a machine so they are super sweet! They weren't my cup of tea but they have some beer options if that's more your jam. Upon check in you're assigned a table and house color. They'll call you in by groups for the show. The VIP tickets were worth it because we sat in one of the front rows so we had an excellent view of everything. Our server, Marco, was great. He got our drink orders in right away and manned the whole front row of a few sections the whole night. The drinks options I remember are water, Pepsi, lemonade, Sprite, and Sierra Mist. During this time, another staff delivers your printed photo of your group and it comes in a very sturdy holder, which is a cool keepsake to take home with you. The menu is prefixed and you start off with a tomato bisque soup served hot, but will get cold rather quickly, with a side of garlic bread. Following the soups is the driest chicken you'll ever have in your life, the most amazing buttery corn, and a semi undercooked potato. Again, the food is not it, but it's part of the experience of eating with no silverware. The show happened concurrently with dinner and the vibes were amazing. The crowd was hyped and the performers were excellent, you can tell they put a lot of work into giving us a great show. We went for my mother-in-law's birthday so I loved that one of the knights threw her a flower, it made her night. We were thoroughly impressed by the falcon that flew around the entire room! The knights gave such an impressive show so we were very happy with our purchase. During the last part of the show, they serve dessert, which is an eclair and I love that they give you the option to pair it with coffee. The whole time you're cheering for your house color to win, but ultimately there can only be one winner. Since the tickets are paid for in advance, you have the opportunity to tip your server at the end of the night by cash, Venmo, or cash app. They hand you a form with their QR code or handle in the back. It's recommended to tip them $5 to $10 per person, which is reasonable because they're serving you food and drinks throughout the entire 2-hour show. This isn't something you do frequently but it's definitely a fun experience worth looking into if you want to do something different.

Yelp
This was our 2nd time at Medieval Times. Last time we came here was with the fam. Celebrating my mother in laws bday. This time we came during December again w a great friend family. The show was great. Really gets the crowd involved and hyped up. It's a Feast during the show. We were served Chicken, corn, potato, tomato soup & garlic bread. eclair was given for dessert. Was disappointed in that because I love eclairs. Hot Coffee is also provided at the end. No utensils are provided but was given wet towels packaging to clean our hands after dinner. The food of course is mediocre. Not the best and a bit dry. The garlic bread and tomato soup was the best. Each section was divided into the color of the knight we were in. Ours was Red Knight. There is a bar that you're able to Purchase alcohol before the show. The drinks come in souvenir glass cups you are able to take home. Have slushy non alcoholic drinks available for kids. You are able to take photos w the cast aka your knight or whoever at the end of the show in the restaurant. They do come out to greet you and take photos. They did a group photo if you'd like at the beginning of entrance. Develop, printed for you to purchase at the end. Recall it ranging from $ 23-$ 25 8x10 size. They have souvenirs and toys available for purchase. Mee and my girlfriend was super cold though. We were seated right next to the queens thrown. It's a cool place to come to celebrate bday or to just have a different evening out. But don't expect much on the food. Lots of Parking available and it is free. Located right next to the known Porto's Bakery.

Yelp
i went on a date here and it was honestly so fun i've been wanting to go since i was little and saw it as a prize on a game show. i didn't really know what to expect aside from the food but i was pleasantly surprised by everything. he found a promotion online and paid about half the price for tickets. the service was great and everyone remained in character which made the experience more immersive. i feel like we both got really into it. they were also celebrating one of the horses retiring which was really sweet we got to witness its last show

Yelp
Came for a family party. It was our 1st time here. The experience/show was definitely 10 stars! I had a great time. My reason for 3 stars was for the food :(. I do think they can improve on the quality. However the service was immaculate! Our server Michael was the best, shout out to him for making our experience great!

Yelp
This was my first time going here and I was extremely impressed with the whole experience. I had just thought that it was going to be a dinner with no utensils and like a jousting tournament or something. But it ended up being a whole storyline and very immersive. And the food was surprisingly good the only one that needed a little more seasoning would be the potato. Our server was very nice and very accommodating, someone in my party was a vegetarian and they gave him an entirely separate main course which he said was still really good. The whole idea of being assigned a knight and having to cheer them on just makes the whole experience more immersive. This place is great for special occasions, but also great to go for absolutely no reason at all. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. If you can, you have to stop by.

Yelp
First time doing an event dinner like this, it was FUN!!! Amazing action and entertainment, was not bored in the slightest. The 3 star review is for the food. All of the food was roasted, chicken, corn and potatoes, were seasoned well and very tender. Starter was tomato soup with bread. An eclair for dessert. Bottomless soft drinks. Beware: NO CUTLERY!! I didn't ask for any, but I would imagine they have some if you ask. It was different eating all food with your hands, but I had fun, like I was actually in mid-evil times, lol. Although the food was tasty, it didn't agree with me once I got home...my daughter and I both had the same experience, so not sure if the chicken was undercooked or food poisoning... Since it was our first time, I wouldn't discount going again just because of the food. Hopefully the next time I won't have the same experience with the meal. Would be a fun experience to have with a bunch of family or friends. High energy time!

Yelp
I love the theme and atmosphere of Medieval Times, but there were some drawbacks. There is a smell that is found in amusement parks as well as a lot of dust from the arena, so I started to get allergies about 30 minutes into my experience. This is the main reason why I cant give a star and the other reason was the food (you pay for the experience, not the food). The service at the bar and our server for that night was amazing. The bar is great to order drinks and other souvenirs from and our waitress was extremely efficient and was always checking in on us. I hope I take something for my allergies before I go and I hope they give a bit more food.

Yelp
Such a wonderful experiences we came in for the 7:30pm show and came to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. We were a party of 15 and it was honestly a blast. We came in and were right away greeted. The host guided us and took us to our seats. The food itself was delicious. The chicken was super tasty and juicy. The potato had a nice seasoning, the corn was amazing and the garlic bread with tomato soup was really good. The show. This is the best part, it is fun entertaining and most of all I love how much the crowd is into the show. This is a very family friendly place and would honestly come back again. We had an amazing server, I did not catch her name but she went above and beyond for my family and I and hopefully we can see her again on our next visit.

Yelp
My wife has been here many times but I've never been and she thought I'd like it and have fun. And I did! Had a blast! I want to go again! Great entertainment & amazing horses. Great & friendly service. Nice cold beers. And the food is really good. Large bowl of great tasting tomato soup with bread, huge cooked chicken, good baked potato half and you even get dessert. It was small, but a good little eclair. For the price-entertainment & food; it's a no brainer. Go!

Yelp
My first time coming to this dinner experience and I made sure to have no expectations whatsoever but it still exceeded to the max! My boyfriend and his friends have been here before for childhood field trips with their schools but I have never. Upon entering, the ambiance and decorations of the place really makes you feel like you're in a different era! The service is very attentive and quick. The tournament lasted around 1 hour and 50 minutes but it all went by smoothly and made the whole dinner such a vibe. The food was amazing and very flavorful. They start you off with a tomato soup with the best garlic bread I've ever had. Then they bring out the chicken thigh, corn and potato wedge. For dessert, they offer you coffee and an eclair! With the price of $~55/pp, it was very worth the experience! During the tournament, they give out flowers and sashes to their crowd and the more hyped you are, the higher the chance of receiving it!

Yelp
i surprised my boyfriend and took him here for a date and we were both super excited! we got welcomed with our crowns and were very pleased by all the workers in character. we went straight to the bar and the frozen drinks were so good! they definitely weren't strong enough, but we still enjoyed them and got to leave with souvenir cups! the actual show was pretty hard to hear, there was a lottttt going on in the show along with being served food. it felt so fast paced and at times overwhelming. there was specifically one horse that seemed sad compared to the others and part of me couldn't help but be distracted thinking about the state of these horses being used for show. the food wasn't spectacular but it also wasnt the worst. we had tomato soup, corn, bread, potato, chicken, and an eclair--served school lunch style lol! plus no utensils like the good ole days? i also noticed with the way seating was, it was almost impossible to get up to use the restroom because it was like a long booth. our knight ended up winning, so it again, was very exciting! i love how they also throw roses at the crowd throughout the show! the vibes were really great and its nice being around people who were also enjoying themselves. i wouldn't visit frequently, but it was definitely a memorable experience!!
