"Medina Oven & Bar in Vickery Park serves a nice shrimp couscous that uses a lot of the ingredients you’d expect in a traditional Moroccan version of the dish, including golden raisins, pine nuts, and cucumber." - Courtney E. Smith

First time trying this place, can't wait to go back! Food is great! I only wish the portions were larger given the price. We enjoyed every bite. Drinks were also good! I would stick to their specialties for a unique taste. Staff were friendly and our server was very helpful and hospitable! He even gave us free delicious tea! Highly recommended.

My husband and I dined here for our anniversary. The restaurant is cute but small. I would recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a table. The outdoor dining space was large, but it was too hot to sit outside. Although when we were there, the inside of the restaurant was a warm temperature as well. We both got kebabs: shrimp and chicken. The price for the serving is okay, and the food was just average. The shrimp was very salty, but the couscous was delicious. The chicken was a bit dry, but my husband enjoyed the vegetables. The service was good, and the servers worked together to keep our drinks full. Overall, we would probably give this restaurant one more try.

Google
Authentic delicious Mediterranean style food and atmosphere. The chicken tagine is a perfect dish especially with a side of rice. Their tapas are savory and large with several different options for toppings. The salmon salad looked layered with flavor. Service is on point and they are very kind. I would eat this food three times a week if I could. Try this place out!

Google
I can’t say enough good things about this place. We were greeted by the owner, extremely lovely and wonderful person. The food was exceptional, brilliant, classic, Mediterranean flavors, with hints of Lebanese/other middle eastern cultures. More impressive than the exceptional flavors of the food was the hospitality. The gorgeous souls of the owner, Moe, and Shaimaa took care of us all evening. We will continue to down here for business, and I will continue to down here for pleasure. It’s amazing that this place offers such great food in the downtown Dallas area near American Airlines Arena, yet I feel like I was transformed into a small tavern and a different country. Look forward to seeing you again soon. River of Goods team

Google
Yesterday I visited Medina Oven and Bar restaurant in Victory Park Dallas and wanted to leave a Google review. The experience was fantastic! The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere and the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of options to choose from. I highly recommend trying their signature dishes. Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Medina Oven and Bar and would definitely visit again.

Google
The food here never fails to disappoint! I came here for my 19th birthday with my family and the service was amazing. Felipe was our server, and we even had the chance to talk to one of the server assistants and cooks. Everyone was so incredibly kind and explained what some dishes were when we had questions. The Moroccan Mint tea was absolutely divine, and the saffron rice was the perfect mixture of spices. We will 100% be going back here soon!

Google
Great Moroccan style restaurant. The food is really good. Kind of small portions and pricey but still very good. Different types of drinks. Great atmosphere inside, on the small side. They need to spend some money to fix up their outdoor patio and it would be a whole other dining area. It’s across from these great fountains and could be absolutely stunning if they spent some money on it, overall very good restaurant.

Google
If you plan to eat delicious Moroccan cuisine then this restaurant is a perfect place. Restaurant is small, but has nice ambiance and patio seating. Service is good and food tastes really good. Chicken Tajine, Vegetable couscous and Sea bass Tajine is our favorite. Hookah is also available for those who want to enjoy.

Lindsey P.

Yelp
We had a great experience at Medina Oven & Bar. The ambiance, service and food was all great! We will go back again.

Mohsin S.

Yelp
Came after several years. Good food just as on previous visits. Everything from the appetizer to main course was delicious. Recommend the Ras el Hanout Lamb Chops; Med Rim Salad, Shrimp and Shermuola. Service was attentive. Place is cozy

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Amazing! The best lamb chops I've ever had! All the food was so good. I had never had kunafa before. They recommended it as my dessert. I will be looking for it now every time I go to a Middle Eastern restaurant! The customer service was incredible. When I noticed they had hookah, I went outside to enjoy it. The server kept bringing me tea and never rushed me. I took my time, enjoyed the weather, drank my bottomless cup of tea, and enjoyed my hookah until it was time to walk to the game, steps away. You MUST try this place for yourself. You'll thank me later!

Kari M.

Yelp
Every time we come to House of Blues, we come here. Highly recommend reservations or bar seating is first come first served (total of 6 bar stools). The atmosphere is quaint Indian decor & Indian music. We literally have yet to have anything we didn't love. Starting with the mixed platter ($24) for an appetizer is a good intro. They have unique pizzas ($18), vegan/vegetarian options (such a seven vegetable couscous $23), kebabs ($23-27) and oven roasted tagines (entrees) $25-36. They offer hookah, wine and cocktails, moroccan mint teapot ($7) and Moroccan coffee ($5). Desserts range from pistachio baklava, orange blossom crème brûlée, triple chocolate cake, saffron gelato with pistachios and Kunafa ($12-15). Highly highly highly recommend!! Can't wait to book another concert and come back!

Mitra K.

Yelp
We stopped by for dinner before a concert. The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside and outside, with great music that I caught myself singing along to a few times. Our server wasn't very warm but he did his job and I'm good with that! We ordered the Meat Cigars and although they were a good size, they were quite dry and lacked flavor. For entrees we ordered the Citrus chicken kabob and the Kefta. The flavor of the chicken kabobs were outstanding and the chicken was juicy and delicious as well as the vegetables. The rice however for both entrees were cold. I was super excited for the lamb Kefta but was super disappointed in how dry and little flavor they had. I honestly didn't expect that. The vegetables were absolutely delicious, crisp and perfectly made. Our biggest disappointment was the size of the entrees compared to the price. Don't get me wrong, we don't have an issue paying but it should be up to par with what you're receiving. The smallest skewers of meat for $23-$27 is pretty absurd. I'd like to think I'm fair since I myself was a restaurant owner for years! For dessert we ordered the Gelato and Kunefe which is my favorite dessert in the world. The gelato was delicious but Kunefe was mediocre in taste. The complimentary mint teas were refreshing and delicious. I'm not sure if we'll come back but it was still an okay experience.

Sandra K.

Yelp
Honestly quite surprised the ratings are so high.. The restaurant is in a nice district downtown but it feels like you are paying for the ambiance not the food. I've had way better Morrocan food elsewhere for a much cheaper price. The amount of food we got was just not worth the $$. Shrimp was dry, sea bass didn't taste fresh. Maybe we caught them on a bad day?

kerry b.

Yelp
Food is outstanding and has been ever since they opened years ago. Cozy atmosphere and excellent service. Especially Elyas, Shauna, and Noe Sami. There is one other gentleman that was (and has been there for a long time) that is so nice too, dark hair and eyes and very personable! If you want to try something delicious including healthy options (grilled meats and veggies, hummus, great spinach salad called med rim) but with lots of flavor come here! We will be back :)!

Xandria B.

Yelp
I've worked with the owner of this restaurant from a B2B perspective and finally was able to stop by and try out the food. OMG..... AMAZING!!!! This place has got quality, freshness and presentation down. I literally went in and said surprise me! I've never had Moroccan food so this is a honest as one can get. Yawl, you have to try this place the next time you are downtown Dallas. You won't regret it. The staff are attentive, professional and friendly. Suzana (Owner) has really mastered her craft and in shows in ever aspect of this restaurant down to the fresh and clean restrooms. I can't wait to return and expand my knowledge and tastebuds!! This is a great place for business lunches, date nights or an early dinner before an event. I went around 4ish and I walked right in sat down and ate while I did a little work. It was better than sitting at a coffee shop. The environment is so warm and welcoming. Suzana you have a passion that shows in an experience that engulf you taste.

Ed L.

Yelp
We came here before a show at HOB and we're glad we did. Medina has an issue with their liquor license so they couldn't serve but we ended up buying 2 bottles of nice Malbec at the wine bar next door for a good price so all good! Medina isn't cheap but the high quality of the ingredients really comes through. All 3 tagines we ordered were outstanding: the lamb chops were delicious and came w potatoes w goat cheese (yum). The sea bass was perfectly cooked. But the apricot chicken was the standout, w 2 chicken breasts, veggies and a couple of apricots. The fruit adds so much to the flavor profile - highly recommend! Moe and his colleagues provided great service, too. Great restaurant in the Victory Park area!

Mari A.

Yelp
I had a great experience here, the inside of the restaurant is pretty small so we sat outside! it was a little chilly that day so I really wish the heaters were doing their job a little better! Besides that everything was amazing! The citrus chicken and the new world pizza were both fantastic!

Anderio K.

Yelp
I've been there with my friends before 4 hours a go the food was great and perfect service except the hookah it' was real bad experience the hookah girl asked me to tip her 20 box cash and she told me (you most give tip 20 ) Honestly it was very bad experience with the hookah girl All the stuff friendly the food awesome

Linn P.

Yelp
It was hectic the night we came here. Their pizza fire oven was down and so no pizza at all. We got the appetizer platter which was very good! The grilled meat platter was good too.

Robyn S.

Yelp
This is a great little Mediterranean spot! The hummus is a must get and the lamb tagin was delicious. We would like to come back to try their hookah. They have a lovely patio and it is definitely well decorated. The service was great too. I liked Turkish coffee but for the price expected it to come by the pot. A bit pricey but a place I hope to return to.

Kendy L.

Yelp
The place is beautiful and offers great service. However, there were a couple of misses with their food. Their hummus was delicious with their pita bread. The beef cigars had a delicious crispy exterior. However, the beef lacked flavor. The sauce it came with didn't really help out with the flavor. For my entree, I had the citrus marinated chicken. The chicken was pretty dry and only had a little hint of the citrus flavor. I was hoping it would be bursting with flavor. I was really disappointed. The saffron rice was nice though. My friend had the fez seafood couscous. She doesn't like scallops so she gave me hers to try. I thought the flavor of the sauce was amazing and the scallops were delicious. We also ordered a couple of cocktail drinks here and they were pretty good. I had the pine honey tea which I though tasted just like a traditional tea drink but you can still taste a little hint of alcohol. Then I tried the arabesque ride which had a delicious sweet flavor of peaches oranges and apricots. Overall I thought it was just a decent place serving expensive dishes that has misses in the flavor department.

Laurel Y.

Yelp
Soooooooo yummy! Great ambiance. They have the best hummus I've ever had. I also really enjoyed the shrimp egg roll like things (can't remember what they're called). Their food has so much flavor. Highly recommend. Oh and go during lunch because the prices are great!

Greg A.

Yelp
Great Moroccan style restaurant. The food is very good. They have a large outdoor patio, not much to it. It could be really nice if they spent some money on it because it's across from the fountains and the weathers good. It's definitely the place to eat overall very good.

Alex A.

Yelp
This is a great place to eat before attending a show at the house of blues. We were looking for somewhere nearby the concert venue and came across this place. We first tried the hummus which was great. The pita bread was so fluffy and warm. Also we tried the Oregano-Fennel Lamb Sausage Pizza which was very tasty but I'd recommend removing the green olives. I'll definitely have to try different food items here on my next visit.

Christina O.

Yelp
Came here to have a nice dinner before a concert at the House of Blues (less than 2 minute walk from the venue). It was pretty good! I practically inhaled the pita that came with the hummus. The Marrakesh chicken had really nice flavor. The sauce alone sold the dish for me. I did feel like the price point was pretty steep compared to the portion size (it was $28 for the dish). I'd definitely come back and try some of the other options though because overall I enjoyed it.

Gabrielle D.

Yelp
I tried this place on a hunch since my favorite Mediterranean restaurant was closed. The hookah I had was well prepared and the hoses were disposable. Both pluses in my book. My drink, I can't recall the name but it was something with pineapple, was subpar. Overall the experience was forgettable.

Craig F.

Yelp
Live in the neighborhood and was walking home past Medina. Stopped in front of the place and saw what I thought was Basil so smelled it. And kept walking-- two seconds later I am being harassed by to Latin Americans for stealing something. I was mortified and verbally assaulted for literally smelling there flower bed!!! I will never eat here and will tell everyone I know to avoid this place... I even called and tried to voice my concern on how they treat the neighborhood residents, but to no avail. Ps. There the only business left on the block and hopefully they will be gone soon as well!!

Kristy S.

Yelp
Be sure to check out this amazing, hidden, neighborhood gem in Victory Park. Open kitchen, fabulous service, and ridiculously delish food! I had the mezza plaster and sautéed mushrooms. Stellar! Support this local business!

Brian B.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible and ridiculous experience! Had reservations at 5:30 before the Peter Gabriel concert on Thursday, 10/19, but didn't really need them, as there was only one other table inside occupied. 5:30 - get seated 5:40 - order taken by waiter who didn't write it down (sangria, caramel fig martini) 5:55 - drinks arrive (sangria, caramel fig martini, should not have taken nearly that long since there were so few customers, plus they were weak) 6:15 - another waiter asks if we need anything, we order 2 more sangrias. 6:20 - original waiter asks if we ever got our app. 6:40 - app comes out (goat cheese cigars - ends were burned, middle wasn't done, and it didn't taste Moroccan at all, just goat cheese) 6:45 - wrong entrees come out (not shocked at all, I knew the original waiter would screw it up somehow by not writing it down) 7:00 - I throw money on the counter and we leave because it took so insanely long, we feared missing the start of the concert, and we never got our entrees. We leave hungry, and end up eating Pizza Hut at the American Airlines Center before the show. We have eaten at Moroccan restaurants in other big cities, and long wait times for the food were never an issue. Nice decor, though.

Debra H.

Yelp
The food was fantastic and the ambiance was lovely. Shaimaa and Moe were excellent hosts. Medina Oven & Bar is authentic and my new favorite place for good food and company. I highly recommend Medina and I plan to go back soon!

Brittany F.

Yelp
Gem of a place in victory park! We started with the fig cocktail which was so good. The dip sampler is incredible as well. I got the lamb which I would recommend and the crem brûlée martini was a must for dessert! Really glad I tried this place bc it's been on my list for a while and did not disappoint!

meryeme i.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Dallas, atmosphere is amazing, I noticed that the service team changed, and I noticed that their team had changed, the food was excellent, and the server was attentive to all details, from the drink to the food to the best hookah I had ever tried I highly recommend it; I have already made my next reservation for my Dad's birthday next week.

Tasneem Z.

Yelp
Great food service and atmosphere! The staff was super friendly, and the food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!" Must-try dishes! The beef cigars were a flavor explosion, and the chocolate cake was heavenly. The cream brulée was the perfect ending to an amazing meal!

Amy Z.

Yelp
I first dined here over 10 years ago, glad they are still going strong! The food is as delicious as I remembered. For appetizer we got the Mixed Platter of various spreads. The Olives and Hummus were delish, but the Smoked Eggplant really blew me away: the smokiness, saffron and garlic were synchronously infused into the juicy eggplant. For entree I got the Lamb Tangine with cous cous, both the meat and the cous cous had great depth of flavors. The portion size was so generous, I had to take some of the lamb to-go. For dessert, one can never go wrong with the baklava: it's served warm and chockful of crushed almonds & pistachio. The argan honey drizzle on top really seals the deal. With drinks and sides, it added up to a pricey meal, but reasonable considering the location and food quality. We dressed up as the ambiance seemed to call for it, but most diners were casually dressed which detracted a bit from the experience.

Kim T.

Yelp
We came here on a busy Friday night without reservations and the owner was kind enough to sit us right away. For appetizer, we got the hummus with warm naan bread which was on point. I ordered the beef tenderloin tagine and it was amazing from the very first bite with all the flavors and spices just blended together so harmoniously. My husband got the lamb chops which was also seasoned perfectly. According to the owner, all the spices came from Morocco and everything is prepared fresh and in house. We also got the Moroccan mint tea which was also flavorful with a hint of sweetness. I highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed.

Cassie P.

Yelp
Hidden Gem. Had a relaxing lunch on a Sunday midday with no reservation. Other restaurants in the area had no seating available for last-minute dining and happened to come across this place on Open Table. Say right away and the ambience was cozy and inviting. Ordered the Chicken Apricot Tagine and it was AMAZING. The perfect combination of textures and flavors. Not too sweet, but the apricot mixed with the other spices in the sauce were exactly the right combination. It was also the perfect portion to be filling, with not a drop left on the plate. A very nice lady (I'm assuming the owner) was attentive enough to check in on my experience and her friendliness was an added pleasure. It was very inviting and an overall great experience.

Cari B.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. What a comforting little haven for people like myself. The food and the staff were absolutely amazing. I enjoyed a great dinner at the bar top and had great convos with family members that comprise the restaurant staff. This place is UNREAL when it comes to quality and flavor. Even if you haven't had Moroccan fare - do yourself a favor and try it out here. Wishing this business all of the successes they deserve in 2022!

Patrick B.

Yelp
I don't know what to say. I've been here multiple times in the past and it's lived up to the great ratings. Last night, however, it's not the same it was. Not only was it severely understaffed. The staff that was there was not familiar with the jobs they were doing. It took 2 hour for a group of 6. 2 of use didn't eat because the sea bass not only smelled like rancid cat food it tasted even worse. The manager was apologetic, but it was too little too late. Paying of the bill was a complete disaster too. Not only did I walk away mad, I was starving as well. It would have been beater for them to just close for the day if they didn't have the staff to cover the restaurant. I'd like to say I will come back, but I was so disgusted when I left I doubt I will give it another chance. It's a shame too, it was amazing once.

Hilary S.

Yelp
Poor service. Very slow and inattentive. Good was bland, bland, bland. There was an actual cockroach in the bathroom. Terrible. Avoid this place.

Michael T.

Yelp
I would give this 3-3.5 but when we got here the establishment had some difficulties. So tried to be understanding. Their oven went down earlier but got fixed, but not before they sent home workers. So it was a bit short staffed. our server convinced us not to order the pizzas Bc it would take them longer to make. We were going to get some pizzas for family sharing but then that changed our ordering. Kinda felt like they didn't want to waste time cooking our pizza. We got the sampler Mixed Platter To Share. It was very good but the portions were so small and so we each got two bites of pita. The goat kebab plate was very tender and flavorful. The goat meat wasn't very gamey. The spices they use covered any gaminess. A lady who seemed like the owner came out and checked on us and every table around to apologize for the wait and lack of staff. That was very nice of her. We came here to meet some out of town friends and they were staying near by. Not sure if we would make the drive out here personally though.

David W.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Dallas. Hands down. Consistent quality, solid service in a sweet location! I could eat here a couple times a week, easily! Great ambience.... Moved here from Houston sometime back where the dining scene is off the charts. I've been consistently disappointed with the dining cene here in Dallas - until I found this place. Always a joy!

Miya T.

Yelp
The food was good. The quantity was not what I would typically receive from a Mediterranean restaurant. I was still hungry when I left. So for the price I wanted more!

Jim P.

Yelp
Order the citrus marinated chicken kebab which came with rice and veggies. The dish is EXCELLENT! Rice had saffron included to give it that special flavor. The chicken is perfectly flavored and not over cooked, not dry at all. The "sauce" or Taziki on the side is mayo with infused garlic. Outstanding and not over bearing. The mixed veggies are grilled perfectly. Nice flavor. The meal was outstanding. I will have this dish again upon my return. I would recommend this restaurant for supper.

Suman K.

Yelp
We were looking for Mediterranean food at Dallas and found this place on yelp. All our group love the food and service. Definitely will stop by when I am at TX again.

Lynne C.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible, everything was so tasty and delicious!! Husband and I stumbled across victory park while biking and so lucky to have found this gem!! We ordered the eggplant spread with pita -- I don't like eggplant but this was so tasty I couldn't even tell. For our entrees I got the beef kebabs and my husband ordered the new world pizza. Before I could even get to my second skewer he had inhaled his pizza it was so good. My steak was so well cooked, it was juicy, well seasoned and paired perfectly with the yogurt and rice. Will absolutely be back as soon as possible!!

Bijou L.

Yelp
Pre concert (DM) on Oct 1. made reservations got there early , ordered and waited and waited and waited...after more than 1 hour our food was still not served. The waiter shrugged when we asked about the ETA of dinner and said the cook was "really busy". I am sure the cook was busy the place was packed. A table behind us with 4 people got up and left because their food was not served. We finally paid off the wine and left-without dinner. Had to stop at grab something quick at tis really terrible fast food place down the street. I have eaten here before and the food is good-not outstanding. The ambiance is causal and nice. But the service last night was unacceptable. I don't blame the waiter. It is clear they need to up the staff level especially on nights when they expect a large number of people. Probably won't go again.

Emma L.

Yelp
First time trying Moroccan quinine. Great service and some of the best food I have tried. The creme brûlée is a must.

J. S.

Yelp
Always ask for an itemized receipt here. The manager here tries to jip you with small charges here and there.

Manny A.

Yelp
For dinner we tried the hummus, chicken apricot tagine and beef kefta pizza. The hummus was honestly the best! We also enjoyed the Marrakech mint tea and pomecello martini. The place was also well adorned with Moroccan design to give it a good vibe. Good spot to check out at least once but a bit overpriced for the food in our honest opinion. You're basically paying for the location in downtown which is very convenient!

Whitney G.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 Value: 4/5 ------ Seriously, I could not believe I had never heard of this restaurant before, and I had lived in Dallas for 4 years. Delicious food, I seriously do not think you can go wrong with anything on the menu here. The staff also had great recommendations for us when we asked. We had the mezze sampler to start, which I think is a great pick if you're just wanting to try everything - I loved the eggplant spread, the hummus, and the bilaban. We also got one of the pizzas (made on a flatbread style), and a salad (generous portions, fresh ingredients - will not disappoint). Will definitely be back!

Debra V.

Yelp
You know when the food is amazing and you just want to brag about the place? Well, here goes. First, if you want to Hooka, you can here. When traveling we always eat at a Mediterranean restaurant because we like the spices and herbs used. We found Medina on Yelp, and it was perfect. The restaurant is colorful and casually elegant with tables that have chairs on one side and a bench on the other. The patio was busy this night, so we ate inside. The Moroccan family was working. We had a reservation, and were greeted warmly. The family was so kind. They explained the menu telling us about their favorite dishes, and suggesting to us which foods went together. When I ordered the Sexy Drink Pine Honey Tea they were excited because it's their house specialty drink that they make by putting the cardamom-infused pineapple in vodka and letting it sit for three days. The drink was good, and it wasn't sugary sweet since honey is used. We ordered the Kayak BiLaban which is a cucumber dip with pitas. The dip was fresh and very nice. The pitas were toasted. Then we shared the Ras El Hanout Calamari Salad. It was delicious with the round calamari pieces in a warm sauce over fresh greens. Then I showed the family some entree photos on Yelp, and after being told about them I ordered the popular Lamb Couscous with veggies and apricots in a herb sauce. The lamb was tender and so good. The couscous was soft with cut up vegetable pieces. It was so delicious, but I was full, so I took half back to the hotel. Be sure to ask about any specials. Hubby ordered this night's. It was shrimp, Sea Bass and scallops over mashed potatoes. He loved it. Eating and talking with the family was relaxing and refreshing. We weren't rushed. Afterward, we walked up and down the street seeing the shops, restaurants and other folks doing the same. Totally recommend Medina if you're downtown or near the American Airlines Arena.

Kent W.

Yelp
Medina has been my favorite restaurant in Dallas for years. The food is outstanding with real traditional Moroccan flavors - the spices are amazing. Medina has a better chicken tagine than I found in the Medina of Marrakech. The staff are outstanding . Suzanna, Faten and Mario are attentive and welcoming. This is my go to place for a business lunch or when I want to treat special friends or out of town guests to a special meal.

Nash G.

Yelp
Food was freshly prepared, really enjoyed the shrimp pizza, chicken kebabs and grilled vegetables. Recommend you try it

Angela E.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place to have dinner. Love the vibrant colors and the food is very good. The service is okay not bad not great. There is live music on the weekends if I remember correctly!

M. Brad S.

Yelp
Terrible service tonight and unfortunately the last time we dined here was terrible, too. The food is delicious but the service has declined to the point of no return. Literally, we will not return. What a disappointment. We had a table for two and in an hour, we barely could order a glass of wine. Not happy at all!

Ali A.

Yelp
If you are looking for a place above and beyond expectations, then this the right one. From welcoming to service to food to goodbye. Worth more than 5 stars review. We tried the beef tendrloin tajin and kfta pizza, those people got a story to tell in their food. We tried the morrocan tea as well, full of flavors and a must try as well. Add it to your list now, thank me later.
