Google
Best value for your $$$. Many varieties but it’s fast food for kabab so don’t extraordinary taste.

Google
I’m a huge fan of Mediterranean food and this is easily one of my Go-To spots. I’ve never had their bowl until this meal and it easily so much food, and so refreshing and healthy, but full of flavor!

Patrick D.

Google
We visited this restaurant after a Duke vs NC State game and instead of sitting in traffic for an hour, we had a wonderful meal! They gave us huge portions of food and well worth the price and service was outstanding! They came and checked up on us and asked us we needed anything else. Highly recommend!!!!

JJ

Google
Great lamb gyros. Friendly owners and great location. Reasonable price.

Desyre K.

Google
The Gyro was delicious & the food came out fast for how busy it was during their lunch rush! For the lunch special I got a Gyro, one side & a drink for $12.50.

Google
So we decided to order take-out for 11 at the last minute on a busy weekend. Figured we would give these guys a shot. They were comically patient with us despite our last-minute request and they prepared several trays of appetizers and entrees with only a couple hours of advance notice, and the food was terrific. Generous helpings that served the entire group with food left over. Salads were made with fresh greens rather than the sad, wilted lettuce we’ve come to expect at most restaurants. Lamb and chicken was excellent, and they added plenty of pita and hummus. Stuffed grape leaves were a huge hit (amongst a fussy crowd). It was a pleasant surprise to have them help us out of a jam in anticipation of the arrival of a ton of family. We’ll certainly give them repeat business (hopefully less frantic next time). Thanks, guys - you’re awesome.

Google
Amazing food and excellent service. Some of the best Middle Eastern food I’ve had in a very long time. Try the lamb! It’s hard to find good lamb meat and theirs is excellent. The salads/vegetables are fresh and perfectly seasoned. I’d give 6 stars if possible!

Google
I used a glitchy app to order delivery (GoBringIt), but when they finally saw it they apologetically called me & kindly delivered it straight to me. I had the lamb shawarma wrap and it was amazing. 10/10, so worth the wait (and I'm an impatient person). Wish I could tip my driver but the app is still glitched. Will be recommending this place to friends!

Yelp
Great lunch at Mediterranean Grill in Durham NC. The beef and lamb gyro, a delicious mediterranean side salad; I had the meat salad and my wife had the tomato, cucumber, onion, and pepper salad. Our side salads and gyros were fantastic. They also included fountain beverage. It's was $12.50 each, for a really healthy delicious bargain lunch. We will definitely return on our future travels to Durham, North Carolina .

Yelp
Got catered dinner from here for a class & it was quite tasty. I chose the option with chicken (very tender & could taste the char; the sautéed red onions were delicious), rice (perfectly cooked), and pasta salad (it was alright). The pita was classic. It came with a vinaigrette that I found too tangy; I wish it came with hummus. Overall, a great, healthy-feeling option. Cannot comment on service or ambiance. 7/10 would recommend!

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend the chicken kabob platter. Large portions and great service.
google avatar

Yelp
Another delicious meal at one of my regular places. Staff is friendly and find is always good. Thoroughly enjoying another meal...

Yelp
While it's getting harder to find a good and cheap place to eat on the go, this place does a solid job for the money. I've had the gyro sandwich, really good, fair price but won't fill me up without a side. The falafel is really good, and the chicken skewer is delish. My goto is usually the chicken skewer platter with fattoush and hummus. Comes with warm pita. If you need a Mediterranean fix, and you're in the area, this certainly does the job.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Visited again and tried the gyro plates this time. The portion sizes were generous, and the rice was flavorful! I had the falafel gyro platter with kale salad, and it was delicious. Given the portion size, it was a great deal for the price. The only downside was the wait--despite the restaurant not being too busy, it took a while for our food to be ready.
google avatar

Camille H.

Yelp
Staff was so rude! There was no one behind us in line and the lady at the register was rushing us and trying to just assume what we wanted. I asked her what the difference was in the salad sizes and she rolled her eyes and, very condescendingly and with exaggerated effort, lifted up a bowl and a plate. I ordered the greek salad (too much dressing) and the hummus (terrible taste) which came with pita bread (good). She put that in and then my mom was ordering. My mom said she'd have the same thing and the cashier just stared at her and didn't put anything in. So my mom repeated the order that I just said. Jeez. They also had the news (15% news, 85% commercials) blasting on a TV in the corner. Yikes. Also it's really run down and not very clean in there.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
Everything my wife and I have ever tried there has been exceptional. Sometimes you just have to splurge! :-) By the way, you better buy some baklava while you're there. Best I've had.
google avatar

Shanelle Y.

Yelp
The food came out pretty quick and I really enjoyed the beet salad. The chicken was pretty good and tender as well. However, for the price I think the portions could be a bit bigger.
google avatar

Kellie D.

Yelp
First time here. Husband and I both ordered the 3 veggie platter-- lots of choices to pick from! I selected beet salad, fava beans and kale salad. Husband enjoyed falafel, fava beans and tatziki. Both platters came with pita. Kale salad was light, fava bean tomatoey and flavorful. Beet salad was my favorite. We also ordered sodas -- always appreciate a fountain drink machine that works well. Service was friendly and there was tons of eating space. We chose to eat outside because it was a beautiful day. Overall a nice place to grab lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the gyro platter it was fantastic. check it out, it's really good this was my second time there I will definitely come back

Yelp
We stumbled upon this digs in the Duke university and ventured in now my wife always rewrites the menu but the accommodated her with a smile as we seated ourselves people continued to file in place orders and wait patiently. The ambiance was very authentic as you can get in the medicine city Mediterranean sounds filled the air the scraping of the grill the smell of lamb chicken filled the air. We surveyed the menu I order the gyro platter with macaroni salad then the wife order the kabob platter with mixed meats of chicken and lamb we must say the taziki sauce was flavored with dill and cucumber which was different yet delicious the lamb was a little over cooked but the seasoning on both was delicious Overall is was a nice Mediterranean departure from the norm try it you might like it the locals do!

Yelp
Quick, yummy, and cheap This place is a fantastic lunch spot when you want some quick Mediterranean fare. They have really good platters and wraps. Of note, they have a great lunch special - any wrap/sandwich + side + drink for 10.50. We got the chicken platter with hummus and salad. The hummus was fresh and delicious with a very generous portion. Perfect in combination with the toasted pita they give you. Chicken was on the drier side, but not bad. Salad was fresh. I also got a lamb shawarma wrap with fries. The wrap was absolutely delicious - meat was juicy with a healthy amount of white sauce on top. Fries were nothing special but doesn't matter because wrap was fiyah.

Beck W.

Yelp
Service was absolutely horrible. I've heard mixed reviews about this place through word of mouth but thought I'd give it a try. They gave me the wrong order then had serious attitude problems and were very passive aggressive when I said something about it. I would have eaten the other order, but before I could try it, they snatched the food out of my hand and threw together another box before asking if I was "happy now?".

Lynda R.

Yelp
The food is always great along with friendly customer service. We stop by whenever we come to Duke.
google avatar

Roxy A.

Yelp
Great place to get Halal Mediterranean food! The plaza this is located in has quite a few other affordable options and this being a staple that has existed for at least over a decade. The seating is nice and clean. The prices are great and I can here twice in a weekend! Their chicken shawarma wrap is great, as are the fries. The best part is that there are fries inside the wrap too. After trying quite a few things I wish some of the rice platter portions had more meat and more flavor on the meat.
google avatar

Rebecca S.

Yelp
I ordered delivery from here 4 stars more for the fast delivery service. I ordered the chicken kabob wrap and it had fries and pickles and yogurt sauce. It could have had more sauce and definitely more pickles. The flavor was really good and the pita bread was so fresh it really was good! Definitely will order from here again.
google avatar

Bethany H.

Yelp
Great place for a weeknight dinner. Fast and delicious. Very casual experience inside and counter style service.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Had lunch for the first time here the other week. I had the falafel wrap, but thought the falafel was a little dry. I also had a side of fattoush which was good. Both were very large portions, for a good price. I plan to return and try some different items. Our food came out very fast...so it seems to be an easy place to go during a lunch break. The parking lot is busy in this area at lunchtime, but you can always find a spot.

Wendy R.

Yelp
Went here for lunch and definitely not disappointed! I had the lamb gyro with Spanakopita on the side, my son got chicken gyro with falafel on the side and my husband had a lamb wrap. The sandwiches were awesome, fresh and tasty! The sides were also very good. We got some baklava for dessert and they were fresh and delicious! The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a clean fast food type place with tables inside and out. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Hannah M.

Yelp
Found this place during a Yelp search...the people were friendly, the food was good and the prices were reasonable...all the things you are looking for when you are searching for somewhere new to eat...we will be back the next time we are in town...
google avatar

Drew W.

Yelp
Service was excellent and the staff were friendly. Food on the other hand wasn't very tasteful, I got all the Kabobs and were kind if bland.
google avatar

Jel M.

Yelp
Their Chicken Kebab is the best! Add some fattoush and pasta salad.. Try the baklavas too.. We will definitely come back.. Service is fast and the place is cozy.
google avatar

Gina H.

Yelp
This has to be the blandest chicken pita I've ever had; straggly amounts of lettuce, tomatoes and onions. There was no love put into this.
google avatar

N M.

Yelp
Amazing gyros lamb platter. Very authentic flavor. The humus was rich and creamy. Get the lamb, it was professionally prepared in small triangles which fit nicely on the triangle pita bread pieces. This is truest the way to eat a large gyros rather than the large pita which breaks apart and is quite messy. this is a tremendous treat for an authentic Mediterranean dish.
google avatar

Yelp
Mediterra is great for a quick lunch and they give you a lot of food. The dolmades and skewers are my favorite

Stephen M.

Yelp
I work nearby and sometime stop in for lunch. Service is always quick and food is always fresh. I am a big fan of their hummus - incredibly smooth and creamy with just the right amount of oil on top. Served with grilled, warm pita it's sometimes all I get for lunch. The chicken kabob wrap and chicken schwarima wrap are also frequent orders. Of note, they put French fries (listed as "potato strips" on the wraps.

Dea Z.

Yelp
Food is very good, reasonably priced and always fresh. We've only used it for take out but would highly recommend for a meal that is generous, reasonably priced, and actually healthy!

Sam O.

Yelp
Terrible service. Ordered delivery, my order was wrong, and when I tried to call I kept receiving a "User busy" notice. No one would pick up. It's a scam, never ordering here again
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
This was not our first order from them. We've ordered a number of times through delivery services and it's been a good experience. The last two orders? Not so much. They have left out items both times. This time, I called the restaurant to try and get a resolution and not only did the woman I spoke with seem a bit unconcerned, but she asked me to contact the driver to try to get them to go back. Now, this isn't the driver's fault. They screwed up the order and then didn't try to own up to it. Now we're missing good AND they didn't even call me back. They're not getting a third opportunity.

Daniel S.

Yelp
Flavorful and delicious food. There are lots of choices on the menu and the servings are a good size.

Yelp
I dined here with a friend after work one day and really enjoyed it! More so than I was expecting since I'm usually a bit iffy when it comes to Mediterranean food that isn't from Med deli in Chapel Hill. I ordered the Chicken Curry Rice Plate and it was more than enough for me to pig out and take the rest home for leftovers the next night. That's my kind of portion! The curry flavor was developed well and the chicken wasn't overcooked which was great. The sides I ordered were falafel and baba ghannouj dip which worked out very well with the pita points that came with the meal. The falafel was good but I wish the baba ghannouj dip flavors were developed a bit more since it didn't really stand out to me compared to everything else. It kind of tasted bland with the pita points, which hasn't been my experience at other places. The restaurant has a causal setting where you order and pay at the counter, take a number and they'll bring it out to you. This places reminds me of Saladelia cafe (on University Drive) in terms of how it's laid out and with the different options of sides available, which I think is a plus. The staff was very friendly despite the fact that I took at least five minutes just to figure out what I wanted to order... yeah, I can be difficult sometimes but they were really nice about it! Overall, if I want Mediterranean food after work, I'm coming to Mediterra. If you're in the area and looking for easy and no-hassle Mediterranean food, hurry on over!

Yelp
I've driven by Mediterra countless times during Chipotle/Smashburger/TGI Fridays runs, but I finally decided to check it out because my friend was craving gyros and this was the closest option. The food here is all relatively priced, and super quick. We went around 1pm and there was no line, and plenty of seating to my pleasant surprise. I ordered a chicken curry platter ($9.99) which came with basmati rice, 2 sides and pita bread; for my sides I chose baba ghannouj dip (I feel like it's similar to hummus but has roasted eggplant chunks) and the falafel. I LOVED the baba ghannouj dip, which had complex flavors and went very well with the 5-6 slices of pita bread on my platter. My friend ordered a gyro platter (gyro wrap with side and a drink) for $8.75. She usually goes to the NC State fair just for one particular gyro stand, and was thrilled that the gyro meat at Mediterra was just as good! We both ended up bringing take out boxes of our leftovers home because the portions were huge. I like that Mediterra has a huge variety of sides you can pick out (including French fries) and you can preview them in the glass display before you order. I'd love to come back to try their baklava or bird nest dessert!

Shalimar G.

Yelp
They messed my whole order up, i had to leave work a second time to get it correct, no apologies. Just let me make it again. The chicken was dry, my co workers order had only like back 5 strips of meat on hers. Last meal with them
google avatar

Mohamed N.

Yelp
"Great, cheap Middle-Eastern food right off Duke's campus" I've gone there several times for lunch but just went tonight for dinner for the first time, and it was great. The server was very helpful and accommodating, even letting us swap some options that were probably not formally allowed (and without adding any extra charge). I had a platter of a lamb skewer (with a cucumber yogurt sauce) over rice, along with my choice of one side (I got baba ghannouj), and some pita. The meat was a tiny bit fatty but tender nonetheless and quite tasty. Overall delicious, and cost roughly $7 only. My daughter LOVED the baba ghannouj she got, declaring it the best she'd ever eaten. My wife got a vegetarian platter with some grilled veggies, spanakopita, and baba ghannouj- I tasted them, and again, very good and clearly home-made. Another good sign- many of the other patrons in the restaurant with us spoke Arabic. Good sign the food is authentic and appreciated by others who know it. In a past visit, I had some of the "bamya"- an okra dish in tomato sauce- absolutely stellar, though very garlicky, so beware your next appointment! Overall, very good place- I could even go to 5 stars on it.

Thomas G.

Yelp
Food is usually great. However, at some point they stopped including rice on their platters. A side of rice is now $5.50. A serving of rice costs them $.05, maybe $.10. Absurd. Now we make our own rice if we order from this restaurant. When they started charging for rice, we tried other kebab restaurants in the area. There are plenty of them. Loo around.
google avatar

Sadia A.

Yelp
Extremely delicious food. Love the Shawarma wrap and French Fries. French Fries come with a nice coating and are super delicious!
google avatar

Mindy L.

Yelp
A good place to get a quick lunch. I usually order the Chicken Shawarma with hummus and it's always delicious. You have the option of getting it in a flour tortilla or pita bread. Both are great options. You can park on the parking lot, and there's usually parking but when school is in session, it's pretty hard to find parking up in the front but there is also retail parking in the garage in the back. Overall, their food is delicious and I stop here for a quick bite.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Nestled in a strip mall and surrounded by chains this place does a good job at providing quality Mediterranean food in a hurry. This is kind of like a Chipotle for mediterranean-style food but you'll get larger portions and much fresher food. There's no reason to complain about anything here. It's a go to place for an affordable, average meal that brings healthy choices. Everything starts with your entree and by that I mean you have to choose a base, be a chicken breast, beef, lamb, kafta, gyro, falafel or a veggie platter. All of those meats are cooked on site daily and taste great. And everything can be ordered as a wrap or a platter. The sides rival the main dish. Their tabouli, pasta salad, fresh fruit salad and hummus are worth ordering and will rival any other fast-food style Mediterranean you can find in the area. And the good news is you'll probably have your order in 5 minutes or less. You'll find a lot of people order to go here, but there's a large enough dining area to accommodate crowds as well.
google avatar

Celeste J.

Yelp
This was my second time ordering from Mediterra Grill. Last time I picked up and this time I got delivery from Door Dash. The quality both times has been amazing. You can tell everything is made fresh! Last time I got hummus and pita bread and salad. This time I got chicken tenders with fries and a hummus tabouli wrap. Their hummus is to die for! Also, the chicken tenders and fries were seasoned well. I usually like my fries a little crispier but they tasted great regardless. For it being a lunch hour, I was impressed that my food didn't take too long to get to me. I will definitely make this one of my go-to spots for lunch! My huge wrap was only around $7 as well as the chicken tenders with fries and a drink. Parking is convenient if you go to pick up. There are plenty of accessible spaces.
google avatar

Jana S.

Yelp
A favorite in Durham. The food is always fresh and flavorful. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor (undercover) seating. Convenient location and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Typical Mediterranean food with generous portions. I had the gyro platter and it was piled high with grilled beef over a salad with hummus and tatziki sauces with pita chips.
google avatar

Andrea D.

Yelp
Y'all, I hate to write this review because I truly appreciate how hard running a restaurant during the pandemic is, but stay away. This place gave me the worst case of food poisoning I have experienced. (And yes, I'm sure it was from their food; I'll spare you the details of how I know...)
google avatar

Crystal H.

Yelp
Fresh and on-time. We will be ordering lunch at Mediterra Grill again! Highly recommended

Sharon S.

Yelp
Just had a Greek salad - worst I have ever had! Didn't even look/taste like a Greek salad.
google avatar

Annie M.

Yelp
Food is good, location is great! I will definitely go back again and again. Love Mediterranean food. Now, the parking in that plaza is horrible unless you go in parking deck. Cars are packed everywhere
google avatar

JJ C.

Yelp
Atmosphere: Very casual, it's usually pretty empty when we go or pass by. Mediterra is definitely a place to grab food to-go. Service: The owner was very nice and the food came out hot. However, we waited for a bit longer than we would've liked, especially since the place seemed fairly empty. Food: We ordered the Chicken Kabob Wrap and the Chicken Shawarma Wrap. Both had pretty good chicken, though a bit on the saltier side. The wraps are definitely unique because they put fries in them. The garlic sauce is flavorful and pita is also pretty good. Overall: Mediterra serves pretty standard Mediterranean food but does not stand out with the exception of the fries in their wraps. We've had better Mediterranean food at that price point but won't be against coming back again!
google avatar

Luis D.

Yelp
Some items on the menu taste good while others fall a bit flat. Hummus was okay as were the falafels. The wrap I had was disappointing, but my girlfriends tasted slightly better. You can eat anything here and be fine. It is kind of easy to forget. The service was good and the staff is helpful and nice. $10 dollars gets you a pretty filling meal and most of the items look fresh and healthy for the most part.
google avatar

Mark D.

Yelp
Excellent food. Wonderful people. Great service. Will definitely return. Falafel was prepared fresh before service. Salads were fresh and tasty and the bread was hot. Very nice!
