Easily the worse $20 I spent in my life. I landed in New Jersey after a beautiful trip in Europe, where I was lucky to get some of the best gyro for about 8 euro. Still dreaming of the taste of those Mediterranean food places, I thought “why not throw it back and get some chicken gyro?” I asked for a chicken bowl and when I asked to have a lettuce base the person serving up the food said it would be an extra 11$. So I obviously said no. I then asked for everything on it, and he proceeded to add a little bit of onion, brown lettuce, and poorly cut tomato’s on my greasy chicken meet. I then asked for some olives and feta… he then said “extra $3 each” I said excuse me THREE DOLLARS?! Yes. Wow. I then proceed to pay when I was in shock by the $20 price…. Then as if to piss me off more, an option to tip appeared. I pressed NO TIP! When I sat to eat my meal, I had to dap off so so much grease from the chicken, despite the absurd amount of grease, the chicken was dry! The pita was gummy and so bad. I literally thought I was going to vomit, so I decided to spend an extra $4 and get a protein bar instead. Horrible. The man serving the food was unhelpful and the food was horrible. Thank you for my boyfriend for eating the rest.

Google
High price but the dude stacked that tray. Food was decent. Meat was a bit on the drier side but they put enough sauce on to make a difference. Got the beef and lamb gyro. Pita was served warm and there was a lot of vegetables on there. The fries were good. Very thick. I’d try it again. A bit messy to eat though.

I could have avoided this negative review had I simply read all the others before giving them my money. To be clear this is the location at the New Jersey airport. I didn't think the attitudes could get worse than the TSA lady who tried to rip the button snap on my neck pillow but I was wrong. After getting through security my wife and I decided to grab a quick bite. After seeing The Mediterranean Grill, we thought it would do the trick. Not so fast, from the start the heavy-set gypsy looking lady was extremely rude as she appeared to frown while asking what we wanted. After my wife asked for a chicken bowl the lady began throwing (latterly heaving), large spoons of rice. Then she picked up a large piece of chicken and began to put it inside the bowl, my wife asked her if she could cut it or just let her have smaller pieces. Instead of say something one would expect to hear from a service provide such as yes, no, or I’m sorry we can not do that. She said you will get a plastic knife. I was more upset with myself because we should have simply walked away leaving her with the terrible tasting food. It was dry, the meat was burned and it was not worth starting a flight and ruining the mood due to the miserable look on her face.

Google
The staff were not nice to talk too. They looked like they did not want to be there. When I asked for them to put chick peas on my order they just ignored me and asked me to pay. I ordered the lamb/beef basket. The meat was very oily and burnt. The rice was bland and undercooked. The pita bread look very poor quality. It looked like a mess in the tray they used for my order. Please save your money. DO NOT!!!! order food from here.

Google
I realize this is airport food and my expectations were very low to begin with but the service was great. They were very friendly and the food was pretty good. Definitely coming back.

Google
The staff are super rude and very difficult. They make it so hard to order in this place and almost make you feel like it's a chore to order food with them and try to give them your money. The food is decent, but there are definitely better places in the terminal.

Google
This is honestly an insult to Mediterranean food. Absolutely terrible food. Inedible, and not worth even trying once. Service is fine and staff were helpful. Atmosphere is a typical airport experience where you have to find your own seating after getting your food.

Google
I had the lamb & beef gyro and orzo pasta salad. It was decent. Service was very, very poor. Employees held loud, vulgar conversations filled with profanity amongst one another while fixing the patrons food. Unfortunately, this tarnished my experience. I would not return.

Yelp
Set up like a Cava/Chipotle but you aren't allowed to make any customizations. The menu is not clear what you can/can't get even though you can see it all in front of you. Despite the confusion - the employees are rude. Go to Jersey Mikes instead.

Yelp
I had a highly disappointing experience at The Mediterranean Grill in Newark Airport. The food was simply terrible and overly salty. The pita bread was hard, making it nearly inedible. The rice was stale and lacked any freshness or flavor. To top it off, the customer service was rude, adding to an already unpleasant dining experience. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money and find a better option elsewhere.

Yelp
Well it really looked delicious but it's just another overpriced airport restaurant in a beautifuly renovated terminal A at EWR. They actually had the chicken on the spiral cooker so I expected it to be good but it was dry and tasteless. The orzo salad was unbelievably overloaded with garlic and even the pita bread wasn't tasty. Oh well, that's what you get for not eating before getting to the airport. The others in my party wisely chose Shake Shack, which would have been a much better option.

Yelp
Ok food, huge portions and terrible staff. Pricing should be better posted so you know beets and dolmas are extra pricing. (It's just a minor thing but be transparent.) My chicken shawarma was exceptionally dry. My husband had the beef and said it was excellent.

Yelp
Just a grab and go place within Terminal A at Newark Airport. Got a Med Bowl (your choice of meat with lettuce or rice) with chicken shawarma and it was OK. Chicken was dry. You get a choice of three toppings but certain toppings cost extra- it would be helpful if on the menu board they list the regular toppings you can choose from and then those that cost more. It's very loud once it gets crowded so it's hard to hear the employees. They are the main reason for two stars. It was like serving the people in line was the absolute worst thing that had happened to them that day. Unless I was desperate I would not go back.

Yelp
I didn't read the reviews first, and boy should I have. My meat was overcooked and cut in such big chunks, had some impossible to actually consume it in the pita. The rice is OK, but I'm suspicious at the color does not come from saffron

Yelp
First time ever making a review and it was needed. I came in pretty hungry and the food was okay but the customer service was completely the opposite. The two girls that were up there had a bad attitude, they stop the bussines from making more money when they mentioned "is going to cost you more" for every item u want to add to your bowl. I asked for more sauce because I barely received any and she mentioned that will be an extra 2.50$. In general don't recommend, you already at the airport where everything is priced higher and bad service is a very bad downfall.

Jason W.

Yelp
Bad service. Too lazy acknowledge my presence and were rude. Kids hanging out behind the counter.

Yelp
Ii should have read the reviews first. Worst food of my life. $40 and most of the food wound up in the garbage.

Paul M.

Yelp
The airport ought to have this restaurant closed down, removed, and sanctify the venue prior to replacing it with something else. Holy hell...the worst quality meal I've had in some time. I don't usually leave reviews, but this is a special case. I should have checked through Yelp before ordering. My fault. Save yourself the disappointment, turn away from this unholy venue...go overpay for a decent burger at ShakeShack. Eeeesh, Paul

Critter Face ..

Yelp
Extremely rude staff, service so poor that I can't describe in words. I usually refrain from posting negative reviews. Just helping other customers to go mentally prepared. They take advantage of hungry travelers and do business regardless because the food isn't the worst. Very sad!

Pamela G.

Yelp
This place is terrible. The meat was tough with no taste. I didn't even eat it because it was not good at all. If I had tried it before getting on the plane, I would have returned it and got my money back. It was a waste of $21. There's no contact number, otherwise I would call them to let them know and get a refund. The whole meal went in the trash, that's how bad it was and the service was not good either. Do NOT waste your money here!!

Prashant Y.

Yelp
Go somewhere else. There are many options at the airport. It's pretty horrible in every respect.

Carl R.

Yelp
Service is pretty terrible, food even worse. Chicken "shawarma" with way too much of that nasty garlic mayo. Borderline inedible, would not recommend. Just get some nasty fast food and you'll be happier. Sadly still not the worst airport food I've had, but it's pretty close.

Alex K.

Yelp
Rude workers as well as very incompetent and can't speak proper English I was very saddened by the rudeness and extreme horrid customer service. I don't recommend coming here.

L P.

Yelp
Made breakfast cheese sandwich with fresh eggs. Decent airport food at EWR, terminal A.

Colin F.

Yelp
Ran out of rice and pita in middle of dinner hour and left only options being a bowl with lettuce.
