17 Essential Restaurants in Palm Beach County

"Since 1998, the Salloum family has operated this market, as a key player in Palm Beach County’s Middle Eastern food scene. Customers often crowd around olive barrels during lunch hours to place or pick up orders. Newcomers are recommended to try the mixed grill platter with spicy chicken kabob, shawarma kafta (lamb and beef) kabob, pita, rice, hummus, and fattoush. The market is also a popular choice for larger group orders." - J. Miller

I ordered a take out roast beef wrap and it was a big disappointment. The sauce was good but the roast beef was tough and stringy. Lower quality beef, I couldn't cut it with a knife and ended up throwing most of it out. A waste of money at $13.99. I also bought the spicy hummus which was good and a pistachio square dessert which I enjoyed.

I finally had a chance to try the Mediterranean Market after hearing so much about it. It was delicious! I ordered a bunch of take-out. My fave was the bean salads, lentils and muhammara is always a fav for me! and the cauliflower was excellent too. I loved the spinach pie. It was all veggie and a little tangy. Perfect for on the go. They carry excellent cheeses from around the world that I think make recipes better. It’s worth getting them from here. The olive bar is legit and al the other traditional Mediterranean grocery items are a real treat. And to top it all off, the staff is incredibly personal and sweet. Makes you feel like you are walking into a friends house. I can’t wait to come back and try the sandwiches and deserts and the rest of the dips as we didn’t have time this time! Thankful Mediterranean Market exists !!!

Google
Staff were super friendly and cool place. Food is good and like a home cooked meal. Though, but over hyped from all the reviews saying it’s amazing. Also it was expensive I thought.

Google
10 stars every time! Their food is delicious and such a sweet family owned business. They deserve a lot of recognition. It’s a take out restaurant and they’re definitely busy during lunch hours, but they’ll always have you in and out quickly. They’re the best

Delicious and Authentic, I will come back when I am in the area. -Nader Hamdan

Google
The food was great, I had their beef shawarma and service was very friendly. I need to come in and try a lot more. Must come in if you are a foodie like me .

Google
Ridiculously good! Quality ingredients, especially the wrap they use, you won’t find this at any other Mediterranean restaurants, it’s large, nicely crisped on the grill so you can taste the fire , chewy and elastic while being thin and tough enough to hold all of the delicious food stuffed in there. Check this place out, there’s really nothing else like it in the area.

Google
Great little spot, actually tiny. They have one table outside but the food was amazing. If you like Greek fare, you need to stop in. Well worth it.

Yelp
MUST TRY!!! I had the beef shawarma, fantastic, it's the bread! The desserts are fantastic (We ordered the pistachio dessert, date cake, and greek cookies). I cannot wait to go back. Great option for to-go lunch.

Sol M.

Yelp
Delish! I got the falafel pita which was so good. The falafel wasn't dry like many tend to be, the pita was fresh, and the employees were lovely.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a middle eastern gem hidden away in Palm Beach, bakery, hot food, salads, olives, you name it anything Middle East you desire they carry, the guys behind the counter were so nice and polite with smiles. I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Gabriella S.

Yelp
Delicious food and friendly owners. Forget pub subs- grab a snack here on your way to the beach instead.

Yelp
What a great "mom & pop" shop! I stopped here for a to go order and it did not disappoint. They have outdoor seating as well. It's your typical deli but not your typical food, it was absolutely delicious. The gyro meat was a but drier than i'm used to but the hummus on the side and the tzatziki sauce balanced it out perfectly. The veggies were OUT OF THIS WORLD!!
google avatar

Juliana V.

Yelp
I absolutely love this gem. Picked up a ton of beautiful food my shark dive today and the owners were also a delight. Ate baked kibbeh the chicken with with rice and fatoosh salad and the lady fingers were great. Don't miss the dates on the fridge.
google avatar

Jade M.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the baklava is to die for!! The wrap is so large it's basically two meals for the price of one. I wanna say it was ready fairly quickly but I might have been distracted in the little market. Both times I've been here the staff has been beyond friendly!
google avatar

Faye M.

Yelp
Such incredible food. I cannot rave enough about it! Sweet business owner, very kind to all that walk in. I could live off of their falafel for the rest of my life.
google avatar

Yelp
EXCELLENT FOOD, everything fresh, very clean, well-managed, and nice people. Incredible selection of salads, breads, sandwiches, ethnic groceries, and OLIVES. Thank you Middle Eastern Bakery for many years of fine service to our community. I LOVE THIS PLACE !!!
google avatar

Yelp
Fabulous food, great service, and great prices. There was a steady stream of customers in and out of this place as most customers were picking up food for take out. We especially loved the baba ganoush, and the salad with fava beans. So good!
google avatar

Patrick M.

Yelp
Best Middle East food and supplies around. I've been eating here for over twenty years. Love their shish tawook sandwiches and lentil soup.
google avatar

Cristofer W.

Yelp
This is a small local Mediterranean market that offers products you can't find elsewhere. This is great but also part of the problem because they take advantage of the customers with only decent products for higher prices. This place has quite the selection. From creamy hummus and smoky babaganoush to crispy pita chips of several varieties and irresistible baklava, they've got all the staples covered. Not to mention the dolma and that garlic dip - probably my favorite product. The prices need to come down to match the product quality. When you compare them to the authentic, high-quality items I've had overseas, it doesn't compare from a value perspective. Still a great local spot bringing variety to the neighborhood. It's hard to resist the convenience and accessibility.
google avatar

Yelp
The parking is tight and there's very limited seating, so be prepared to park at a meter across the street and grab your food or market items to-go. Those things aside, this is a must try local restaurant in my opinion. All the staff is super friendly, helpful, and polite. I can't recall the last time I was truly thanked for my business like I was here. The food here is delicious. Everything is very fresh and I suspect most, if not all, of the prepared foods are made on site. Definitely try the gazpacho - it's packed with fresh veggies (cucumber, onion, celery, etc) and is some of the best I've had. They've got an assortment of salads and if you like tabouleh, I'd recommend having that too as their's is very very good. Plenty of sandwiches and desserts to try still, so I'm planning to visit again soon. I also intend to buy some bulk olives the next time. They've got multiple 5 gallon pails with a variety of imported olive types just to the right of the door when you enter.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in West Palm Beach near the courthouse. I found this place by accident and have been going back for years now. I make it a point when I have business in West Palm Beach to stop and grab lunch or bring stuff home to keep in the house. Today I ordered their chicken shish tawook platter. It comes with chicken seasoned with tumeric, curry, herbs, lemon + garlic sauce. You also get hummus, pita, rice & fattoush salad . So good. We also like their lentil soup, tabouli, roasted cauliflower & more. The pita bread is also homemade and they also sell package crispy pita too. If you're looking for really good & fresh middle Eastern and Mediterranean food to go, This is the place for you. They also offer catering.

Yelp
If you like Middle Eastern cuisine, you must check this hidden gem just north of Downtown WPB. The store is in a very old and small building, with a private parking lot that unfortunately only fits 6 cars (if you can't wait for a car to leave, you can park on the street, but it's not free). By the entrance they also have a small table with a few chairs, where you can sit and enjoy your meal. The business is owned by two Lebanese brothers, who also work full time at the place and are very friendly and attentive. Even if it's small place, you can find several ethnic products (even frozen ones), but they also offer a lot of homemade food: various salads, tzatziki, hummus, tabbouleh, falafel, meat/spinach pies, etc. They also prepare different wraps and hot platters: keep in mind that their portions are big. Prices are very decent. I love their gyro platter (with lamb) and grape leaves, but the things that I always buy there are olives (of any kind: they have a wide variety), the Greek Feta, and of course... all kind of baklava they have that day!
google avatar

Peter F.

Yelp
As a vegan I find that Mediterranean markets offer the most selection that fits my demographic yet also allows for my meat-eating boyfriend to eat too. The chefs recognize me even though I haven't been there in a year. Bonus-ask them why the Lebanese don't use calculators.
google avatar

Theresa L.

Yelp
Love this place! It's a small place but they have a market and also a deli. Staff is so friendly. We picked up some hummus and feta cheese, pita bread of course. To go we picked up some food, I got the shawarma platter and baklava, so amazing!! Food is so delicious. They have a table outside or you will have to take it to go.
google avatar

Kimberly C.

Yelp
Busy place and super responsive. Ceviche was awesome and good quality- fresh. Spinach pie, mediocre. Lots of great hard to find products available.
google avatar

Ginny L.

Yelp
Tucked away in downtown WPB, this Market and deli is a true gem. They even have a few parking spots so there is no excuse for not dropping by. I first heard about it from a friend who went to a party where the hosts served lots of foot from Mediterranean deli. It is a perfect place for that because you can pick up all kinds of meats (shush kabobs etc) as well as lots of vegetable dishes like falafels and salads. I have gotten meals to go for my family several times. You can call in an order and eat on the picnic table outside or bring it home. It is a very casual place and they don't have much seating. I would be remiss if I didn't talk about the market part. They have fresh breads, frozen Mediterranean delicacies, dried fruits, nuts, oils etc. Not only is it a good place to get some fabulous pantry items but it is a wonderful place to buy hostess gifts. I brought fresh hummus, pita bread and baklava to a friend's house and it was a hit.

Yelp
Excellent food, good menu selection. It's very small inside and our food took awhile and didn't come out together. Definitely be going back for the food tho.

Mary M.

Yelp
Best part is the friendly and attentive service from this family owned business. So warm and friendly; I love supporting businesses that show such authentic care for their customers. Also, the food is AMAZING! I'd recommend going for breakfast, getting a sample of everything plus olives, and hope you get to share the picnic table with other customers. I forget if they have coffee yet they have iced tea (even no sugar!) sometimes made with rose or orange flavoring. I would fly to West Palm just for their olive bar (pro tip: get extra herbed olive oil for a scalp treatment--you'll feel like a Lebanese princess!) They have a grocery section and a very nicely curated section of impressive pastries and sweets.

Yelp
Food was amazing, fresh and that checks the box for everything! From the salad (thicker cut tomatoes, cucumbers & house dressing, you can tell cut by hand), the rice was fluffy and soft, buttery, meat was seasoned so well & delicious! I am so picky about my falafel, these guys knocked it out of the park! I ate them in the car, couldn't wait due to the delicious smell! Looking forward to being back! Very friendly and great food, small location, almost family run! Been there for almost 50 years!! I would post pictures, except that I devoured the food before any photos could be taken. Cheers all! Definitely a must try in West Palm! Not the sexiest location from the outside, but you will have a cooked meal experience!
google avatar

Yelp
The best Mediterranean! Parking is tricky. There is one small lot in front with angled spots and some on-street metered parking as well. It's usually pretty crowded during lunch time. But it is all worth it!! Food is amazing, staff is equally amazing and accommodating and friendly. They work quickly to get the food prepared and everything is absolutely delicious. My favorite is the vegetarian platter - you basically get a scoop of every side dish plus hummus and a nice big piece of falafel (so crispy and not all greasy). Highly recommend this little spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Mediterranean food has become my favorite over the last few years. I have been to these types of establishments all over the country and I can tell you this place the best sirloin beef shawarma I've ever had. I Love it Best in a wrap. This place is no one trick pony though, they have delicious, homemade, hand rolled grape leaves and amazing spicy chicken and chicken shawarma. Lots of other standouts like the cabbage rolls on different flavored hummus. This place and the family staff are amazing!
google avatar

Hillary G.

Yelp
Stopped in to try this authentic Mediterranean market on our way home from the beach. Quick service from friendly staff! Large portions of great flavors- we tried the Shwarma platter, chicken and vegetable hand pie, and a chicken platter. We also picked up walnut baklava and a coconut cake to round out our experience. Each platter was definitely enough for 2 meals and very filling with rice, a side salad, and hummus and pita. It's a great unassuming hole-in-the-wall just down the street from the hustle and bustle of downtown West Palm Beach.

Sharon J.

Yelp
Great Lebanese food for take out. Everything is fresh and fairly priced. They also have some grocery items and fresh pita.
google avatar

Ash F.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great service and people! If you want classic good quality Mediterranean food this is the spot. In addition to the prepared plates they offer an awesome selection of olives and cheeses (way better than Whole Foods or other grocery stores! Buy and support local!) Don't forget to grab a container of garlic.
google avatar

Yelp
OMG!! Sooooo delicious. Found this place by accident. Co worker and I were talking about middle eastern food (she's middle eastern) and told me I HAD to try this place. Did NOT disappoint. Better than some of the places I've tried in NYC. Very organized, fast and busy! I had the spicy chicken platter. It was spicy (medium- hot) but perfect for me. Came with salad, rice, large pita and the most delicious hummus! This will be my go to place anytime I'm here for work. Read the menu before you go- they don't waste time. Also- nice selection of olives, feta cheeses, salads and desserts.
google avatar

Yelp
This spot is amazing! If you like middle eastern food you have to check this place out. Very friendly and quick counter service. They have so many options for breakfast, lunch or to go. There is an outside table with an umbrella to eat there or take it with you. We tried the veggie stuffed grape leaves ($.80 each), and tzatziki, and a veggie platter ($12) which comes with green bean salad, butter beans, tabbouleh, fatoush, hummus, baba ganush, and falafel with tahini. It also comes with pita. This platter had so much food that the two of us only ate half of it. Of course we had to have the pistachio baklava. So delicious, flaky, and sweet. We also took some food to go. Our favorites are the meat pies, butter beans, and hummus.

Deborah C.

Yelp
Many years ago a friend told me about this place, and it was my go to for mid eastern food back then. It's been ages since I've been there, so long in fact that I thought it had closed. I was surprised to find through another friend, that it was still open. Today I ordered the falafel wrap and the hummus wrap, and both were delicious. Now that I know that they are still there, the same location, with the same yummy food, I will be going more frequently.

Yelp
Growing up in a Lebanese household, you'll think that no one can hold a candle to your mother's cooking. Just ask her. She'll agree! But as she has advanced in her years, her time in the kitchen has come to an end. But all is not lost! After moving to West Palm Beach, my wife and I went in search of good Mediterranean food, and practically stumbled into the Mediterranean Market and Deli. Tony and Adib made us feel right at home and helped us put together a sampler for Mom, too. I think I have said it before, but it bears repeating: This place is Mom tested and Mom approved. What more can you ask for?
google avatar

Eve B.

Yelp
I finally found a place with good shawarma!! The food here is so authentic and tasty. The owners go out of their way to make provide the best service. One of my favorite spots for sure.
google avatar

jodi w.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!!! Real authentic food which is so difficult to find in South Florida. I feel like I'm back home in Boston. The owners are from Boston so that's probably why the food is so authentic! Your taste buds will be delighted!

Stuart B.

Yelp
Absolutely best Middle East food and bread in area. Extremely busy with fresh generous portions. Take out or eat on the one table in parking lot. Friendly staff and very good.

Peter S.

Yelp
This place is an absolute treasure. The food is incredible. The wraps are absolutely to die for. The tabouleh is perfect. Their olives are incredible. So is their hummus, flatbread, and baklava. The only thing I didn't like was their gazpacho which had too much celery- which is not traditionally an ingredient in the dish. There is limited seating but the food is the best in all of palm beach county.

Randy B.

Yelp
What can I say? As close as you get to your grandmas kitchen. Authentic and served with love! Love Tony and the entire family and staff.... A must stop if you are in town!
google avatar

Nicholas F.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service. I've known the owners over 35+ years. Kind, quality people. I highly recommend. Tell them Nick sent you.
google avatar

Geo G.

Yelp
Yooo, MM is yummy as hell. Those little meat pies, are so great to buy and stick in the fridge. When your hungry pop them in the oven for a nice little meal. I love the Gyros here, they taste different than the ones at Svoluki Grill, another spot that I also enjoy. But I feel like the Gyro at Mediterranean Market taste more authentic. The meat is always quite plentiful and taste very fresh. I'm gonna have to try everything on the menu and report back. Nom Nom Nom
google avatar

Nicole G.

Yelp
We were looking for a quick spot for a bite to eat while we were in town, and while this place may look simple, the food was phenomenal. Everything is freshly made and so flavorful. Excellent selection as well. Only downside is that there was only one table if you wanted to eat there, but don't let that stop you from stopping in for a to go order.
google avatar

Su B.

Yelp
If you're looking for the best tabbouleh, this is the place, you'll find almost everything you're looking for, and everyone at the market is very pleasant, kind, and helpful, Great customer service. I'll be coming here often for salad and yogurt.
google avatar

Shelby E.

Yelp
Finally, I've found an amazing Middle Eastern food spot! I live in Boca but I'll definitely make the drive here. Being half Syrian, I always struggle with finding Middle Eastern food of quality. If you feel the same, this is the place. I got the kafta platter with grape leaves and it was amazing. You get quality AND quantity (the plates are large). I wanted to include photos but the food was gone too quickly LOL. You won't be disappointed here.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
My favorite place since I was introduced by my Egyptian friend when I worked at the county. Grocery selection is great, and I always have the schwarma.

Lucy J.

Yelp
I was treated as though I was a bother to them because I did not stand in the proper area to order and he turned to one of his employees and asked her to take my order. As soon as someone else walked in they were warmly greeted by the same gentleman who brushed me off. New customer was told about the special and was told he came in at the right time because of the rush earlier. I stood there watching in amazement. When it came time for me to cash out, the gentleman still did not offer a shred of niceness that he offered the other customer. They need to remember that despite are differences my money is still green and I will not be spending it this establishment.

Randy L.

Yelp
Lots of choices for lunch and an area full of purchase by the weight choices ie varieties of olives, etc. The best Mediterranean deli I have ever eaten at!! I have never been disappointed by a choice yet!! Love it.
google avatar

Sarah A.

Yelp
WOW what a find! This place gets bumping around lunch. Staff is quick & efficient, you order, give your name & get out of the way so others can get in & order. We got a falafel wrap, babaganoush (spelling?) which is an eggplant based dip/spread & a small side of tzaziki. Everything was fresh tasting & delicious. Can't wait to come back & try different things!
google avatar

Mia W.

Yelp
Love this place. Short walk from work. Huge portions for a reasonable price. They have a delicious garlic spread.

Chelsey B.

Yelp
It's delicious. Tried the beef shawarma and chicken kabobs... couldn't decide! They both were beyond tasty. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend! ******** Did I mention, it was delicious?
google avatar

Josh H.

Yelp
If you want the worlds best middle eastern food look no further I have been going here for countless years and this is by far the best food I've ever had if you haven't been here you must try it out if your in the area.
google avatar

Jacques R.

Yelp
Reality is I don't know why my fellow yelpers rated this plce 5 stars! I came to west Palm for the day with my wife and wanted to try something new and different... Other than the same "restaurants"!! Well, I was big time Disappointed... The place, I don't mind that it is a small minimarket... Could use some cleaning... No tables other than a plastic table outside in the parking lot. Main concern... It is not a Greek joint OR an Arab / Lebanese joint!! So, food all in all way below average... Nothing fresh... The falafel, horrible and they took it out of an oven in an aluminum tray... Who knows how long it sat there... The shawarma, also nothing too fresh... They also recommended the Curry chicken sandwich... Awful!! Just took one bite... The babaganoush? Threw it away! Just one plate was good... The tsatsiki... This was good... Other than that, this place made me lose one lunch! Sorry!!!
