Yelp
We stayed at a hotel that was a hop skip and a jump away so we had to check out Mediterraneo during our first night in town.
AMBIANCE
As we walked up the street, the place was well-lit and we were drawn to the restaurant and felt very welcomed.
FOOD
Frittura Mista di Pesce
This was a mix of fried fish, fried calamari, and fried shrimp. The squid, fish, and shrimps were big in size. The fried batter was thin and not too salty. The shrimp is fried with the shell on. I didn't and don't care for fried fish so my hubby was more than happy to have my portion.
Spigola all'Acquapazza
The seabass was well made and really tender but there were some small bones. I'd prefer no bones so be careful eating. The dish was a nice and lighter choice. The chunks of potatoes and cherry tomatoes gave the dish a nice balance.
Rigatoni al Ragu Napoletano
The pasta was a little thick and a bit undercooked and the meat was more shredded than minced meat which is how I know of ragu.
Panna Cotta- I got the chocolate flavor. The dessert was simple and topped with chocolate topped. The chocolate reminded me of the chocolate from a hot fudge sundae, not super sweet.
SERVICE
We didn't have reservations as we had just arrived that afternoon, but the staff didn't hassle us. The staff who greeted us within seconds of steeping in also seated us right away. The servers were all friendly and helpful.
Overall, I'd say this is more of a simple seafood place and we had a good experience as it did the job for us.
