"Just steps from the picturesque port, in the heart of Hvar’s old town, this family-run restaurant has been a cornerstone of local cuisine for over 70 years, with a menu focused primarily on fish but offering much more. Try, for example, the Premium Ribeye: 330 g of beef ribeye aged for 60 days, served with red wine sauce, sweet pepper and onion potato cream, broccoli, and mushrooms. The spacious terrace provides a relaxed atmosphere, while the interior stands out with walls adorned with floral arrangements. A small private room houses a selection of fine wines, many of which come from the island and other regions of Croatia. Booking is essential, especially during high season." - Michelin Inspector

We passed this restaurant while walking to and from our hotel and so happy we found it - one of our favorite dinners on our trip! The seafood risotto was the best risotto I have ever had and my husbands gnocchi was the best in Positano. Even the lemon cake dessert was delicious. The workers all get along with each other like family and it make the atmosphere so enjoyable. They also have live music some nights. 10/10 recommend!!

This restaurant serves some simple, delicious food, but also some sophisticated, delectable dishes. Moreover, there is a breathtaking sea view just across the road. Would 100% recommend to either seafood fans or people who want to expand their palate.

I love Mediterraneo—the food always tastes amazing, and the staff is wonderful. I’ve been there many times, and this is my second summer visiting. It never disappoints. Always a favorite.

Google
This was one of our favorite restaurants in Italy! The lemon black and white pasta was to die for and the buffalo mozzarella was so delicious! The service was also very friendly. Would definitely come back again.

Google
Quality gluten free food in a casual environment. The prosciutto and melon was a solid way to start off the meal, I could eat this every day. It was also so nice to have gluten free ROLLS available and brought to the table with no extra charge. When we polished off both rolls they even brought us another! Dinners were good, most meat dishes were naturally GF and they can sub gluten free penne for most pasta dishes. They even had gluten free desserts! The servers were very kind and accommodating, but we were here in the spring when it is not too crowded.

Google
When walking past the restaurant, I heard very fun and joyful atmosphere with a live singer so I had to give this restaurant a try. Not only vibe was great but the food was excellent and the staff were so friendly. Definitely would come again if I visit Positano again.

Google
This place had hands down the best pasta I had on my trip to the Amalfi Coast! The food was delicious and the staff was super welcoming and friendly. Our waiter Gennaro took great care of us. The owner Lorenzo was also super friendly, and came by our table and chatted with us for a bit. If you are staying at the Villa Delle Palme a few doors down you get 10% off at this restaurant and Saraceno D’Oro, all run by the same family. The pasta was the black and white pasta with local fish - incredible! We also had a rigatoni that was delicious. The lemon cake was also wonderful. Would recommend! Super fun spot, great vibe and beautiful view!

I was in Italy for 11 days from Rome to positano, Capri and Ravello And went to many many restaurants hands-down this was the best pasta dish I had from the whole vacation - bravo to the chef the pasta was cooked perfect and I never had a better lobster in my life and I’m from New York City.

Yelp
This was a recommendation from Poseidon hotel. Loved it. The staff was hilarious and so fun. The food was delicious. Really loved it. It's about 10 min or so up the hill but stop by Poseidon first for a view and a cocktail.

Yelp
One of our favorite experiences in Positano so far and it's all because of the staff and atmosphere. The people here make this place so incredibly fun and they create an immersive experience for the patrons. They have live music while dining with the sweetest man playing Italian songs on his guitar encouraging diners to sing along. If the crowd is having fun they even pass out tambourines to join in. In addition to this, the food is great at an affordable price for this area! We had several glasses of wine, appetizers, entrees, and desert for right around 110 euros. We started with Zucchini Flowers stuffed with Ricotta, had Rigatoni in a bolognese sauce and a fresh seared Tuna Steak for the entrees, and ended with the Tiramisu. Everything was wonderful from start to finish. We seriously loved it here. If you're looking for good food at a great price and a fun atmosphere with lively staff, this is it!

Yelp
We stayed at a hotel that was a hop skip and a jump away so we had to check out Mediterraneo during our first night in town. AMBIANCE As we walked up the street, the place was well-lit and we were drawn to the restaurant and felt very welcomed. FOOD Frittura Mista di Pesce This was a mix of fried fish, fried calamari, and fried shrimp. The squid, fish, and shrimps were big in size. The fried batter was thin and not too salty. The shrimp is fried with the shell on. I didn't and don't care for fried fish so my hubby was more than happy to have my portion. Spigola all'Acquapazza The seabass was well made and really tender but there were some small bones. I'd prefer no bones so be careful eating. The dish was a nice and lighter choice. The chunks of potatoes and cherry tomatoes gave the dish a nice balance. Rigatoni al Ragu Napoletano The pasta was a little thick and a bit undercooked and the meat was more shredded than minced meat which is how I know of ragu. Panna Cotta- I got the chocolate flavor. The dessert was simple and topped with chocolate topped. The chocolate reminded me of the chocolate from a hot fudge sundae, not super sweet. SERVICE We didn't have reservations as we had just arrived that afternoon, but the staff didn't hassle us. The staff who greeted us within seconds of steeping in also seated us right away. The servers were all friendly and helpful. Overall, I'd say this is more of a simple seafood place and we had a good experience as it did the job for us.

Yelp
We were tired after a very long day of travel, checked into our hotel and asked for a recommendation. Our hotel suggested this restaurant but warned us we had about 20 minutes to get there before it closed 10pm on-a Sunday). They made reservations for us to let them know we were coming. We were seated quickly and proceeded to order right away (menus on QR codes). I needed something light since it was so late. I chose the Caprese salad which was so good. Fresh mozzarella. Nicely spiced, fresh tomatoes. It was a perfect I'm-so-tired-i-could-stand-up-sleeping-but-i-should-eat meal. Everyone loved their meals. The food came out individually so it was steaming hot. Glass of lovely red wine was 5-6 eu. Service was excellent, very casual and relaxed. Great way to start our trip.

Yelp
From the moment we entered the restaurant we were treated like family . The wine was crisp, bread was homemade & the crew worked seamlessly together to ensure all guests were smiling. I highly recommend this family owned restaurant. Make sure you make reservations, it fills up quickly!

Yelp
American Tourist here! With high American standards this place is completely awful and should be avoided at all cost. You will thank me later. The Service is sub par and expensive for the quality of food you are getting here. The pic shows you the smile I took of my wife went away quick after our first bite on our plates. Waiters are rude and management needs to lean in quick before they bankrupt your falling part business. This is by far the worst restaurant we had during our Positano trip. It all comes down to the food, it's by far awful. I definitely would avoid this restaurant at all cost if you ever can while in Positano. In that same street you have Posides who is by far have the best food quality from that entire street. The pizza place in front of Posides is also a good place.

Shivali S.

Yelp
I would never go back here . Food was not bad but I did not get what I ordered and when I mentioned they just said sorry but did not even offer anything to make up for it . I especially went for sea food and they "by mistake" gave me the vegetarian option of the same pasta . Moreover, the waiter serving us was not interested in his job at all but was more occupied with flirting and drinking with two girls in a different table. That explains why he made the mistake of taking the wrong order . The other staff was ok and quick though . Also the food was not worth the hype . I have had better food in Positano itself . Would not recommend at all.

Susan T.

Yelp
Food was outstanding! The service was friendly and polite. Pretty good views of the water.

Yelp
Mediterraneo was a great spot located in the beautiful Positano along the Amalfi Coast. It is a local spot so not too many tourists. The service was so friendly and authentic. Like everywhere in Italy the service was slow, but I guess that's part of the experience. I loved the food, some of the best pasta I've had. The spaghetti with clams was off the menu and a recommendation from our waiter (it was twice the price?!). It was delicious. I also loved the gnocchi, the sauce was so cheesy. I love the way the cook the pasta in Italy, it's just so perfect. We were recommended this place by our taxi driver. So if you are looking for a local favorite, definitely give it a try. It's Italy, the food is gonna be fantastic most places you visit.
google avatar

Derek S.

Yelp
staff was amazing. Very funny. Very easy to talk to if you don't know Italian. Pasta and Seabass was perfect too. Great wine bottle prices. Spaghetti with shellfish was fresh and tasty!

Yelp
Our favorite restaurant in Positano. Amazing views and ambiance, large portions, excellent prices. The staff are exceptionally friendly. I strongly recommend the Linguine with Lobster or the Pasta w. Mussels, Clams, Shellfish as your main course. Shout out to Rodrigo!
google avatar

Yelp
We were staying next to the entrance of this restaurant. It was one of two places we ate at more than once during our vacation. It begins with the staff, so friendly. These guys were attentive, quick and very helpful. I had linguini with clams and it was solid. My daughter liked her gnocchi so much that she at it both times we dined there. The other hit was the lobster and pasta eaten by my family. We had reservations and the crowd was steady, but they seemed to accommodate patrons as walk ins. My favorite thing really was the friendly staff. Diego was a family favorite....

John L.

Yelp
We spent 3 days in Positano and had dinner at Mediterraneo twice. We enjoyed the live entertainment and the service was excellent. We highly recommend the Fiori di Zucchina, (stuffed zucchini flowers tempura fried), Bruschettine della Casa, and Amorini al pesce bandiera a perfumo di limone. (Black and white spaghetti in a lemon sauce).

Yelp
I went here with my wife for dinner. The attire is more on the casual side, and although people there were dressed up nicely, we felt overdressed. Pricing isn't bad. The menu was a little on the limited side for the Secondi and wine is only by the glass. Nastro azzurro was the only beer they have. The rigatoni was good. And for a Secondi got the boneless chicken leg, which is a little strange sounding, but was a nice change of pace from all of the pasta/steak I've been eating.

K W.

Yelp
Do not eat here if you are a tourist. Hands down the rudest staff/ people we encountered in Italy. They were disrespectful, snatched the menu out of our hands, we asked to change one item on the order and he stormed off. The mussels were decent, the squid was not good. There are plenty of amazing restaurants and people that will appreciate your business. Don't waste your money here.

Veronica B.

Yelp
Service was phenomenal and so was the food! Best resturant in Positano must go!!! Also great scenery and live music.
google avatar

Nicole E.

Yelp
We were staying nearby and stopped for a later lunch & left feeling very frustrated. The food was below average & the wait staff were extremely rude. From snatching the menu out of our hands to asking if we wanted to eat the mussel shells- they obviously didn't want us eating there. I don't know if they treat all a median customers this way but overall it was a bad experience & I would hate for anyone else to leave feeling like they wasted their money on sub par food or to be treated as poorly as we were.
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
Very great, the owner was beyond friendly to us. It was a great dinning experience. The reason we went there there was someone singing through the restaurant. If your looking for great seafood this is the place.
google avatar

Yelp
Located just a short walk from Hotel Posa Posa (where we were staying), we decided to order a pizza and a bottle of wine and eat on the patio of our hotel room. We walked in, placed our order, and we're walking out in approximately 15 minutes. Not a long wait at all. We ordered a margarita pizza which was very good along with a bottle of Chianti. There were several things on the menu that look like they would be fantastic but we were really tired and did not want to dine at a restaurant on this specific evening. If you are looking to pick up a pizza to go while you are in Positano, I can easily recommend this place. Bottom line - A great place to order pizza when you don't want the hustle and bustle of a restaurant. Decent wines to-go as well. Bon appétit.

Yelp
We came here for our last night is Positano. We wish we discovered this restaurant earlier in our trip. The food was incredible and the staff was even better. They made us feel so welcome and we're the best part. I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough.

Yelp
Squid Ink Pasta! The 4 starts is for one of the best dishes I had in Positano! I remember the cool vibe but I don't recall the service being super but that pasta has burned a hole in my memory from 2 years ago. I am surprised it took em this long to circle back and write a review. I'm going back to Positano in a few weeks and there's a 100% chance I'll be going there again! A Moroni All Pesce Bandiera e Profumo Di Limoni "Black (squid ink) & white spaghetti with local fish Bandiera (similar to seabass) & lemon

Lindsay M.

Yelp
Great food and service! The seafood was delicious and fresh. We also got to try stuffed zucchini flowers for the first time and they were great
google avatar

Yelp
Mediterraneo is amazing. Incredible service, incredible food, strongly recommend. You won't want to leave!

Yelp
Super touristy spot in Positano with guitar player roaming from table to table playing popular tunes. A great spot if you are a large group drinking lots of beer with your food but not great for a couple who wants a romantic spot for a semi quiet dinner. Food was decent but service was so-so. We asked for an ice bucket 4 times in 20 minutes to chill the white wine - it finally came at the end with different excuses at the end - too busy with delivering food / not enough buckets for the tables, etc.
google avatar

Bethany D.

Yelp
A great little spot just ~7 minutes up the road from the main downtown area in Positano. The food prices are great and the food is even better. The service was good too. You can sit inside or outside. In late October, it was still high 60s, so we sat outside to enjoy the night. It was a great spot for some homey (not stuffy) Italian food. We ordered the sea bass and the linguine with Maine lobster. With a chocolate mousse for dessert. The sea bass was delicious but the actual fish flavor was masked by the stewed tomatoes. The linguine has the entire half shell of the lobster. However, the claw meat was not there, so I think I got a little slumped on the lobster meat. However, it was still delicious. Ask for the chili oil. It was a great addition to my meal - just add directly to the food. Chili oil is red pepper flakes in olive oil. To finish, we ordered a three layer chocolate mousse which was divine. Overall, we would go back to this restaurant. Please note that we went at the end of tourist season, so it was not busy and the roads and restaurants weren't slammed with people.

Yelp
We had a fantastic dinner here tonight and I had to review ASAP! I had the seabass and my mom had the black and white pasta. Both dishes were delicious! Portions were very large and the prices were appropriate. The house red wine was quite good for only 4 euros a glass They had live music and the singer was wonderful and so entertaining. He interacted a lot with the crowd and took requests. We finished the meal with complimentary limoncello. The best we've had in Italy so far. Every server we interacted with was beyond friendly and welcoming! We plan to return before ending our stay in Positano. A must visit spot!!!
google avatar

Yesenia M.

Yelp
This is the worst restaurant we tried on our vacation in Italy. The gnocchi tasted like you would buy at a local supermarket. Nothing unauthentic and could not even finish it. My boyfriend got the fried seafood and was very very bad. The seafood looked stale and very dry. He could not finish it either. Paid around $65 euros for horrible food. I am very surprised this restaurant got 4 stars. If I could give this restaurant negative stars I would.

Hermineh H.

Yelp
Food is not great do not waste your money here. Staff is extremely rude. They take forever and are not at all accommodating. I had asked for any kind of sauce and they literally say no or make you feel bad that you are asking because you're supposed to eat it however they serve it. And flies are all over their place and kitchen and food.
google avatar

Daniella O.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I visited Positano earlier this month. Our hotel Pasadena recommended this restaurant. We fell in love with the waiters and wait staff the minute we arrived. They made us feel so welcome and they were so fun to be around. My favorite was Diego who looked just like my cousin in Upstate New York. All the wait staff was wonderful. We continued go back to this restaurant for dessert and dinner a second time. There was a man playing music and singing and that was so much fun as well. I highly recommend this place especially for the excellent service! We will miss them.
google avatar

Mikel W.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. It was close to our hotel and seemed to have a nice vibe to it. We went for dinner and the food was okay, but honestly the service just wasn't. Every time someone came to our table, it was a different guy - which was bizarre to me. We had to ask for bread, the wine menu, the dessert menu (although we ended up not ordering any) and the check. It just wasn't a great dining experience, and I wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Kristin K.

Yelp
Great food and good portion sizes, although it was a bit overpriced in my opinion. The only thing we weren't crazy about was the beef in white wine sauce.

Jamie P.

Yelp
Stopped into this restaurant on a rainy night and were pleasantly surprised! Amazing seafood dinner (had the sea bass) and my wife had the rigatoni. Staff was attentive, friendly and prompt. We definitely would come here again!

Yasemin A.

Yelp
A must if you're in Positano!!! Amazing views and even better food, might be one of the best meals we've had since being in Italy! It's up the hill from the city center, not too many tourists and such a sweet vibe.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Outstanding experience at this restaurant. Like many others who reviewed, the stuffed zuchinni flowers were outstanding. We also had the homemade pasta and beef cutlet in a wine sauce. Prosecco, bread and limoncello were also provided free of charge. We had a great experience here especially because of the great staff. They were funny, personable and fun. Worth a visit or two while in Positano!
google avatar

Alina T.

Yelp
We would give this place a 4.5 stars as the decor could be a bit improved . We came here during our stay in December. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. For starters we had the bruschetta and for dinner we tried the seabass with potatoes and seafood risotto. Both dishes were delicious especially the seabass. Portions were generous for the two of us.

Tom N.

Yelp
Don't believe the reviews. Great location, great strolling musician, but the waiters were insanely rude. Took over an hour and 40 minutes to get our dinner. Had one drink, had to asked 3 times to get water, bread and where our dinner was. Waiters were only interested in coercing people walking by to come in. When our entrees were finally served food was just ok. Sea bass was greasy, rigatoni was average. Rude slow service trumps average food. Our 5th dinner in Pasitano and the only bad dinner we had. Hard pass.

R. G.

Yelp
Loved it. I felt like I was getting homemade regional food. Small and quaint. Food was good. Service was good. Slow to get your bill so I needed to ask. (Seems normal for Italy). I would eat there again
google avatar

Preeti T.

Yelp
Waste of money ..Pasta was so bad ..anyone can make better pasta than this at home ..do not waste your money

Ron H.

Yelp
On our third night in Positano we tried this restaurant that was recommended by people we met on a ferry boat from Amalfi. The view was fantastic, the ambience was great and the food was better than all combined. We were even serenaded by a guitarist who played the mandolin while we ate. Best meal for the money we had while in Positano!
google avatar

raffaele p.

Yelp
Lorenzo the host is amazing. We started with the stuffed zucchini flowers and moved to the homemade pasta with clams mussels and tomatoes. My daughter had the spaghetti with pesche bandirio. Amazing, I rank this up with la tagliata and la terra.
google avatar

Natalie M.

Yelp
My husband and I came here twice during our 4 night stay in Positano during our honeymoon because it was that good. The food is delicious, seafood is fresh, service is outstanding and you feel like family. I highly recommend the sea bass with white wine sauce with potatoes and my husband said he will dream about the mussels in white wine sauce for the rest of his life. He had them 2 nights in a row and told everyone we met in Positano to go have them. Friday night they had live music and if you stick around late enough they pass out tambourines to their customers to join in on the fun. If you don't go early you will need to make a reservation, they get very busy around 830/9pm. Highly highly recommend! We will be back again one day
google avatar

Jacklyn S.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor when you visit Positano and indulge in all the deliciousness that's served here. I had the squid ink pasta and it did not disappoint!
google avatar

Saroop B.

Yelp
Loved this place. Food is great, but what makes it spectacular is the atmosphere. There's a live singer and all of the waiters sing along. A true Italian experience!
google avatar

Angela R.

Yelp
This place was just okay. My husband and I came here for dinner one night on our honeymoon and both ordered the "homemade pasta" with shrimp, mussels, and claims. The fish was decent but the pasta was incredibly salty...gross! Service was not great either, the waiter didn't check on us once after we got our food. I wouldn't come back.
google avatar

Linet K.

Yelp
This place is amazing!! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is A+!! My husband and I had the zucchini flower, clams and mussels, Seabass pasta, and tiramisu... everything was very good!! Probably one of the best meals we had in Italy. They have a guitar player that goes around singing and interacting with the guests.. in fact many of the staff are super friendly and come over to introduce themselves. Highly recommend. Make a reservation if you are going in the evening!

T B.

Yelp
Food was OK, but misrepresented and not cheap. Lobster sold as "locally caught, Mediterranean lobster" was actually cold water lobster (most frequently found off the eastern costs of Canada and the US - the physical differences are OBVIOUS), and so was more than likely frozen, not fresh. I hate liars! The end of dinner was met by a cheesy band singing "Volare" to diners, followed by a request for tips and offers of a CD for sale by the band. This place should have a neon "Tourist Trap" sign glowing above it. Let my misfortune be your education - go elsewhere, fast!
google avatar

Yelp
This was our last night in positano, and I will say it was a good one. We ordered the fried zucchini with fried mozzarella and it was delightful. The main course I had was the paccheri seafood pasta with Clam, small shrimp, a dash of pesto and broccoli. It was very good. We also had the paccheri pasta with mozzarella, and meat sauce. They had a decent house wine, both red and white. The only knock I would give them was their service was a bit slow. It wasnt a very busy night when we were there for the restaurant and they seemed to always be chatting or talking to locals passing by. Not a big deal to me, but I know service is important. I would go back there, as they did have a great seafood menu and I barley scraped the surface. I would recommend this place.
