Ann Arbor’s Best Wine Bars | Eater Detroit

"The Mediterranean region shines on both the food and wine menus at Mediterrano, where dishes like grilled Spanish octopus and Moroccan ribeye are served alongside an extensive selection of Spanish, French, and Italian wines. However, the new world wines from premiere Western Hemisphere wineries will please fans of more fruit-forward styles." - John Reyes

Ann Arbor Restaurants Accepting Thanksgiving Reservations at Takeout Orders - Eater Detroit

"Mediterrano is a popular spot with an internationally influenced menu and an extensive wine list. For Thanksgiving, in addition to turkey, the restaurant is serving prime rib, salmon, and vegetarian paella — all dished up family-style and with Mediterranean twists throughout the courses." - John Reyes

The food and Atmosphere were great for my girlfriend's birthday! We loved the baked feta so much that we ordered it twice. Our waitress was very kind and informative. The lasagna had a unique and fantastic flavor. Some of the best hummus I have ever had! We are looking forward to returning in the near future!

Google
Delicious food cooked by the restaurant chefs. Loved the food recommended by my table waiter, except the only one that I chose by myself 😔 including dessert. I went to the restaurant without any booking so I was put into an event dining room on the day, and I think I have missed all the vibes in the main dining hall. But I have had enjoyed the service by my waiter who has a great sense of humour and kept me happy.

Google
What an amazing experience! We went here for my wife's birthday and they made it so special. There were flowers on the table and they brought a beautiful birthday dessert out. We don't eat dairy and this was the most accommodating restaurant we've ever been to. The waiter was knowledgeable about what was in the food and careful to bring the dairy parts on the side for the rest of our party. The food was delicious. This was easily the best experience we've ever had at a restaurant.

We came here to celebrate my fiftieth and we were not disappointed! Chatting was super easy around the large table and we shared so many different small plates salads and entrees. We were not hurried by any of the staff, and we enjoyed every dish. Excellent restaurant!

Google
Clean atmosphere, nonchalant service and great food. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and my girlfriend ordered the mushroom fettuccine. The chicken was delicious and very well seasoned, the pasta tasted homemade and it was decadent. We had the bread service and spanakopita for an appetizer and both were thoroughly enjoyed. The bathrooms were clean and modern.

Our party of four had a fantastic dining experience at Mediterrano in Ann Arbor. This was our first dining experience with Mediterrano and are already planning our next visit! From the moment we entered, our greeting was warm and welcoming, with staff who made us feel right at home. Our small plates, salads and dinner arrived promptly and were incredibly fresh. Some of our favorites include the lemon drop martini, the bread service, chorizo stuffed dates, bravas potatas and salmon entree. The atmosphere was inviting and elevated the entire experience. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our visit and can’t wait to return!

Google
I’m always apprehensive about Mediterranean restaurants—some are great; some are grease spoons of rice and saturated chicken. Mediterrano is, hands down, the best Mediterranean restaurant I’ve experienced in the states. We had the bacon-wrapped dates as an appetizer. Bacon provides a smoky crispy bite, mixed with the sweet squishy deliciousness of the date, served on a vibrant hummus, the combination of flavors that explode in your mouth—phenomenal! I had the Chicken Souvlaki as a Main. I can’t explain nor emphasize how delicious it was—pick your accoutrement: the lemon potato, tomato compote, or the homemade pita. All amazing. I wish we’d had room for dessert. Definitely recommend—and Dmitri our server, was excellent as well.

Yelp
Chicken souvlaki This is my go to restaurant here and I'm finally trying something new. I usually get the paella or lamb popsicles. Delicious as always. Perfection in every way. Came back to mention how delightful posha was. She's very fast and extremely aware of everything happening in the restaurant. She said thank you to all that would help out. She is someone I'd love to work with and learn from

Yelp
Really great food. A nice upscale Italian restaurant. Our party of two showed up WAY underdressed on a Thursday night around 7pm without a reservation. There were plenty of empty tables and we were seated near the door. We decided on a salad for each of us and two "small plates". These were the largest small tapas plates I've ever had (and I've had my fair share over the years!). We could have ordered just one and been satisfied. The downside was the service. We sat for almost 15 minutes before anyone came over to welcome us and offer us water and a menu. In fact, we had just started searching for another restaurant to go to. Something must have triggered something in the back of the house because while our server rarely checked on us, the house manager and bartender both came to the table twice to see how we were doing and if we needed anything.

Yelp
Driven past this place a million times over the years and finally made it in for dinner! Nice options on the menu -- dishes from all over the Mediterranean area (not strictly Italian as I had thought). So you can choose from Greek, Spanish, North Africa, etc. The bacon-wrapped dates were delicious and came with 4 portions, easy to share across two people. My friend said the seafood paella was good, exactly what she wanted. My pear salad was delicious -- the pears and dressing especially. However the salmon I ordered with it was very plain, underseasonee, nothing special, and a bit overcooked. A little disappointed for the price on that one. Service was okay -- oddly attentive at times we didn't need attention and then lacking when we did, but we had everything we needed. Overall I would return to try more dishes, knowing it's going to be a bit expensive and maybe not world-class service.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. We're visiting the area and decided to stop in for a salad and appetizer. It was so good that we decided to go back a second time this week. We loved the atmosphere and the staff were great. We had small greek and Cesar salads along with spanakopita. We added a piece a salmon to one of the salads and split it. I had baklava cheesecake for dessert and it was epic. The camomile mint tea was delicious too. I will recommend it to family and friends in the area.

Yelp
Kind generous service, with a selective list of wines, and the ambiance is welcoming and demure outside and indoors. Presentation and plating is highest quality. Vegetables with the sweetness of fresh picks with bold flavor and finely prepared dishes. Meat cooked to order on the split hairs of choices. Olives were plump, sweet and floral preserved in high quality olive oil.

Yelp
Food - both Greek and Caesar salads were delicious. Very fresh, light, flavorful. Seasonal squash soup was spicy but a little on the runny side, not thick. Service- fast and friendly Ambiance- mediterranean chic Would come back to try something different... very eclectic menu

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. The food is absolutely amazing, and the staff is even more amazing. I always get treated with "regular" status, which I LOVE. The outdoor patio area is dog friendly, and they even bring out some water for the dog. The only two things that I would say I don't love are the prices (just a little too high for daily visits) and the bar stools (they are hard and have a little lip on them that cut into my legs, plus they feel like they aren't strong enough to hold me and I'm pretty skinny.) The happy hour makes things a bit more reasonable price-wise, which is a daily affair - yay!

Yelp
Never knew this restaurant existed, let alone shared the same building as World Market - a home goods store that I LOVE and visit frequently whenever I'm in Ann Arbor! Mediterrano is tucked away with its entrance and entire restaurant front at the back behind the street-facing World Market, so I truly never knew until my friend, who loves this place, suggested that we go! it's a great spot for bigger parties as there were 10+ of us pulling up here. They have a ton of space in this restaurant for larger parties and the staff seemed very familiar with handling bigger parties as well and our entire experience felt seamless! The food was very interesting - a lot of items on the menu feeding into the vibes of this space being a bit more upscale than other Mediterranean-based restaurants that I've been to - but not too expensive either. Everything we got was very delicious and I loved this place for its interesting menu and food, service, and ambiance. A+ across the board - I will definitely be back again with friends as this is a great place slightly off campus to go to with parents or friends looking for a nice dinner option, and next time I'm in the area shopping at World Market, I will probably also swing by here to pick up some carryout as well!

Yelp
Quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, delightful food. Long history of great food for my partner so we stopped on our road trip. Bill, the friendly assistant manager, shared they no longer host chef tasting menus on Tuesday night. We suggested they bring them back though we both live over 90 minutes away. Tasting menu would be fun. Bread quality especially when warm is outstanding as is tapenade. Next time, we will stay nearby and drink some wine! Bill, will you join us?

Yelp
We had the chicken souvlaki kebab, Greek salad, brussel sprouts and calamari Brussels: 10/10 Kebab: 8/10 Calamari: 7/10 Greek salad: 5/10 Service was fine nothing spectacular. Food took forever. Nice ambience, you can talk at any tone but still hear each other. In the expensive side compared to similar restaurants. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
This was our first time back here since Covid and we sat in their outdoor gazebo during a mid-April heat wave. The gazebo has sides that can go up or down depending on the weather. Our server did a nice job, but sometimes things arrived quickly and sometimes we were sitting there thinking "where is our dessert." Our food was really good. We were a party of four and we got four small plates and two entrees. Except for the bacon-wrapped dates, the small plates were really large. Lots of patatas bravas, tons of Brussels sprouts, and lot of hummus, taramasalata, and olives in the cold poikilia. The Ora King Salmon with truffled pea purée, potatoes, mushrooms, and arugula was very good. The Lamb Three Ways was also delicious. For dessert, we had the PORTOKALOPITA (Greek orange cake . vanilla chantilly . macerated berries . crumble pistachio) and Tarta de Santiago almond tart with roasted pears, Spanish nougat, and sherry caramel. Both were very good but the Tarta was my favorite.

Yelp
We hadn't been here is ages but decided to try for my birthday. We were not disappointed. We had the Salmon which was prepare to perfection, a rarity in this world of overcooked fish dishes, one of our companions had the Paella, and wow! This is a dish worth trying. They have several versions including a vegan version if you are so inclined. The service was top notch which is another rarity in this day and age. The ambience is upscale but not snobby. Jeans and a nice top of shirt are fine. I would not come here in shorts and flip flops, however. All in all, we had a very positive experience which was only slightly marred by the unexpected 2.8% "surcharge" which popped up on our bill. Since it was such a tiny % we didn't make an issue of it, but why slip a small unannounced annoyance into the experience? Just raise the menu prices by 2.8% and call it a day. I would have given this place five stars if it hadn't been for the dumb as rocks "surcharge."

Yelp
Lots of people in Ann Arbor don't seem to know about this place because it's not downtown. That's too bad, because it's great. I've had probably half of the menu, and loved almost everything. I avoid the seafood, but my wife is usually happy with that. Once I got a pear-Gorgonzola salad that was very heavy on the Gorgonzola and light on the pears, when I was hoping for the opposite. That's the only bad thing I can think of, and I'm sure you'd agree that is nitpicking. The service is almost always excellent. We recently had a new waitress who wasn't the greatest, but the manager appeared immediately after we asked someone else and took care of us. The patio seating is lovely. Doesn't have the hustle and bustle of downtown, but it's a pleasant place. Indoors is nice too. I prefer sitting in the bar area, but the main dining room is fine too.

Yelp
I met a friend for lunch today. She had the panini, and I had soup and Greek salad. All was very tasty. Service was excellent. The restaurant is beautiful inside. I also liked the clean and modern restroom. It was very easy to find as well.
google avatar

Keith F.

Yelp
This restaurant has a well decorated inside and outside. I enjoyed the tiled wall and other artwork found throughout the inside. When we sat down it was pretty empty but it quickly filled up for dinner. Our server was friendly but only came back once after the food was delivered. It meant the water and drink refills were largely ignored The bread that comes out first was really good. I wished that we had been offered some butter but there was olive oil on the table some used that. The small plate of brussel sprouts was shared among the table. We all enjoyed them a lot. The honey drizzle made for a perfect sweet and salty mix. Yum! I had a large house salad with grilled shrimp added. The salads here are a nice size and all of my greens were fresh and crisp. This place is more like $$$ instead of the $$ dollar signs on here. Overall a nice plate to eat but too pricey for me to be a regular.

Yelp
Went in for the Easter brunch buffet. We had a party of 15 with two kids (chaos) and the service was great! Sara is amazing. Our drinks stayed full, our plates were always bussed, and she was so friendly and attentive. The food was incredible. While every aspect of the dining experience was impeccable, it was the plating of the dishes that truly stood out and left a lasting impression. You could tell everything was well thought out. Especially for a buffet. The prime-rib was tender, juicy and well-seasoned. The chicken, potatoes, green beans were all delicious. Not to mention the desserts! Buffets can be hit or miss, and this one was a hit. The food stayed hot, and everything was so tasty. Looking forward to many more.

Yelp
The exterior is not prepossessing, with a back-of-the-strip-mall vibe. But once you get into the place, you find one of the best joints in Ann Arbor. Banging cocktails, tasty branzino, simple and delicious bread and olives. And the servers are top notch, friendly and professional. Great place for a good business dinner or a fun family celebration.
google avatar

Rosanna S.

Yelp
The food was really amazing! We went for my friends birthday and ordered many things off of the menu. The server was so helpful and the vibes were amazing in there. It was very peaceful and a great dinner.

Yelp
Hidden gem on the south side of Ann Arbor. Their chicken skewer plate is amazing and their bread service is excellent. Service is always spot on and they have a really great staff there. Excellent place for a formal business lunch or a special occasion. I recommend their Greek salad with salmon or their chicken kebab. Happy hour is also a great time. It's located at 2900 S State St, at the rear of the building, next to the Cost Plus World Market. Solid ownership and upscale vibe. I recommend it!

Yelp
Super nice staff here and the food is very good. We had a group of 20 here for my daughter's graduation and highly recommend as they put us in a private dining area. Tip - the bread is soooo good, try not to eat too much as you will get too full for your meal
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food! Especially enjoyed the minestrone soup and garlic bread. Ordered carry out and they were quite quick.

Yelp
Venue- spacious. Service-pretty dang good. We had a very bubbly fun waitress which always makes the experience even better. Food-Delicious. I absolutely think Mediterrano would blend in very well to what you expect from good NYC restaurant with a midwest hospitality flare. Food presentation was not consistent but who cares if it taste good. Reasonably priced, what more can you ask for. If you're in town this would be a great place to have a family dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious food!!!! The bread, oh my, the bread... and then the pasta! Service was quick and courteous. The whole place was clean, comfortable and welcoming. Hidden gem!

Yelp
For a recent dinner to catch up with friends, Mediterrano was suggested and quickly agreed upon unanimously. Always one to try a new place, I looked forward to trying out a restaurant I had never been to. Tucked quietly away at the corner of State and Eisenhower, I was thrilled to find a large parking lot that led to a cozy entry to the restaurant. There was a large heated tent out front, which looked perfectly inviting in the brisk autumn evening, but I proceeded into the restaurant to meet my friends. Our server greeted us promptly and took our orders, with all of us foregoing appetizers to start with our main entree. I debated between the kebab and the salmon, and finally decided for fish after getting a recommendation from our server. I think it would be hard to go wrong with anything on the menu, and I really enjoyed my salmon. The salmon filet was fresh, warm, and tender, the accompanying potatoes, mushrooms, and truffled pea purée provided a harmonious contrast to the fish. As we ate we enjoyed the quiet din of other diners, occasional ripples of laughter, and the clink of cutlery as people enjoyed their time as much as we did. I'll add this to the list of favorite restaurants in the area, and will look forward to returning again soon!

Yelp
Wow!! Came here last night for date night and felt like we had a dining experience that was worthy of being in a big city. From service, to ambiance and the food, everything was pretty much flawless. We ordered the mussels to start and loved how flavorful the sauce was, take one of those garlic cloves and spread it across the crusty bread and smother it in the sauce and top with a few shelled mussels and you're in for a TREAT. This dish was the favorite of the night! We also ordered the half rack of lamb which was cooked to a perfect medium, and the branzino which had crispy skin to go along with the sauce it's served it. Everything was done so well, my husband and I are excited to have this place so nearby and will surely be coming back to try more of the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
The atmosphere is elegant yet casual. Very comfortable environment. Our waitress Sara was very friendly and attentive. They have a nice selection of specialty cocktails as well at the classics. I went with an old fashioned. It was refreshing and strong. Their food menu is a good size with options for all tastes. For an appetizer I had the bacon wrapped dates. Served with chorizo and romesco sauce. They were delicious and great combination of chewy and creamy with a very enjoyable flavor. For my meal I had the branzino with fingerling potatoes and a vegetable. The potatoes and vegetable were a bit bland and while the fish tasted good there were lots and lots of little bones that I was having to pull out of my mouth with every bite. We mentioned this to our server and she informed the manager. While the manager was nice enough to take it off the bill, something we weren't looking for, we'd have appreciated them coming over to our table and talking to us even briefly something which did not happen. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse with almonds biscotti crumbles fruit curd cherries and vanilla. It was very nice. A great mixture of savory and sweet. The prices were very reasonable. Over all I would recommend.

Yelp
Delicious food. Authentic with a twist approach to Mediterranean cuisine. Nice light music and pretty decor. Knowledgeable wait staff.

Yelp
Would love to give them a better review but we were seated outside and after 20 min of waiting for someone to show up and greet us or give us waters, we got up a left.

Yelp
Let's start out with the good. The food. Actually, the really good. The app was the bread service and dips. The tzatziki was some of the best I have had. For the main course I went for the lasagna which was very good. Had a fresh sauce and the flavors were layered. The three stars is for: 1) The service. I was constantly asked if I wanted a refill of my iced tea. 2) There was a service charge that was added to the bill. The surcharge was for using a credit card.
google avatar

Ariana D.

Yelp
Went here with friends and it was truly delicious. One of the best restaurants I've been to in Ann Arbor. The patatas bravas was done wonderfully and the potatoes themselves were crispy The brussel sprouts were perfectly seasoning and had a honey type glaze. Simply delicious! La casa paella was delicious and could've served 4 (the menu said 2!!). One thing to note is that the paella's take about 45 minutes to get done, so I recommend ordering that early in the meal. Great experience!

Fay K.

Yelp
Great food. Nice relaxing ambiance. Waitress Ianna was terrific. We come to Ann Arbor every year and have never found a really good Mediterranean restaurant until now. We will be back.

Yelp
A truly mixed experience. It begins with the server asking if we wanted bread. We said yes. No bread. She comes back 10 minutes later and asks if we want bread. We said yes again. No bread. We ordered our dinners. The dinners arrived. No bread. We cancelled the bread. The bread shows up. We sent it back. My lasagna showed up. Barely luke warm. I sent it back to be re-heated. I waited and waited. I guess they were waiting for a new batch and it showed up. Warm. It was very tasty. My wife's fettucine was mediocre at best. I would have liked a second glass of wine. Where is our server? They offered free desserts to compensate for the "experience". I ordered sambuca. They were out of sambuca. The desserts were wonderful. To their credit, much of Ann Arbor was without power so they got more traffic on a Thursday than they anticipated. But still, I can't imagine going back. I expected more.

S. K.

Yelp
Great ambiance for a large group, Great variety of food, appealing to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Shares are great/ pasta portion is easily shareable (though you wouldn't be missing anything if you skipped it either). Service was a touch slow but staff is pleasant. Food: 3.5 Service: 3.5 Ambiance: 4

Yelp
Seafood anyone? Mariacos Paella for 2 - calamari, salmoretta, skull island prawns, clams, mussels, monkfish, piquillo peppe, salsa verde, peas & saffron aioli. Serving is enough for 3-4 people. Huge portions, quality was ok. Zarzuela - skull island prawns, calamari, monkfish, clams, mussels, picada, sofrito, saffron served with grilled ciabatta. Same ingredients as paella minus the rice. It was good. Gnocchi - cauliflower purée, grilled asparagus, heirloom cherry tomatoes, truffle oil, dark opal basil. Delicious. Tricolore Salad - watercress, endive, frisée, radicchio, orange, pistachio, Kefalograviera cheese, marcona almond vinaigrette. Excellent salad! Bread was amazing!!! Server was nice but just going through the motions. Tried to engage her with limited response. Overall nice restaurant & would return.

Yelp
Coming here on Valentine's Day, I expected it to be fairly busy. It was, and the waiter took a while to serve us, but since it was such a busy day, I will let that pass. The food was pricey, but the quality was so good that I would recommend going at least once. The steak was OK, but the chicken was amazing, as well as the patatas bravas. Very cute atmosphere.

Unhappy C.

Yelp
Went in last week before leaving for our holiday weekend, the restaurant was very clean and we liked the decor, but the greeter was very short, rude and unwelcoming, she didn't even smile or seem happy we were there, almost like we were an inconvenience. She was wearing jeans which seemed very casual for the atmosphere. Once seated our service was good and the food was excellent! I would highly recommend the lasagna and the orange cake.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent! No other way to put it! First to arrive was the warm Italian bread basket with a spread that was garlic, potato nummyness! My taste buds went crazy! Next, I had the Italian panini with a bowl of soup of the day. This delicious sloppy sandwich was what food dreams are made of! Wow, off the charts delish! This chef knows Mediterranean flavors and how best to combine them. What a treat! The soup was spinach, sausage and bean with a memorable broth. Ooooooo... My SO had the chicken panini with roasted gold potatoes. Again, what a delicious treat! As Arnold said, 'I'll be back!'

Linda R.

Yelp
Made a ressie here a while ago for post grad lunch. Waited to be seated. Told 5-10 mins. 25 mins later was told another 20. Restaurant not prepared. Should not book if you cannot handle. Very upsetting.

Yelp
I love this place. They have a nice selection of pastas and wines. I had the Medtini cocktail to start which had a great blood orange flavor. For appetizers we got Halloumi and the dates. The Halloumi had a nice balsamic drizzle and a dash of lemon juice on top and it was perfect. We had the bacon wrapped dates last time we were here and had to get them again. The bacon wrapped dates mixed with the romesco sauce gives a great complex flavor to this appetizer!! The pasta alla nerano was a special they had so I wanted to try it before it's gone. Honestly it was just ok.. it had tuna tartare and salmon roe on top. I tried some of my husbands ribeye and that was great too and the potatoes were crisped to perfection. This is a great place to come if you like Mediterranean food!

Shawn R.

Yelp
Very nice menu choices, have liked everything I've tried over the years. Good wine selection, too!

Yelp
I was asked to come here to meetup for a future school board member opportunity. I work in the area and wondered where this place was. I found out that its in the same plaza for the Olive Garden that I visited regularly pre covid. This is a nice little spot and I was shocked I had never been here. My party was sitting at a table waiting for me. We got some drinks and I ordered some calamari. The atmosphere was a nice mix of upscale but casual. The calamari came and it tasted great. It was sitting in squid ink and the flavor and seasoning was great. The waitress was attentive and great. The menu had some great items from paella, pasta, lamb,, seafood and more. I will definitely be back for more of a full meal.

Yelp
Good food and an interesting selection of liquid refreshments. We came back this time for the gazpacho. It did not disappoint

Yelp
This place is awesome. Check it out. The lasagna is great and well put together. It tastes fabulous. That comes from someone in Boston.

Such a great find. Took my mom Out for dinner here and she loved it! The staff was so friendly and everything was fresh and hot when we were served. I highly recommended this place. It's flavorful options will leaving you craving more!

Yelp
Amazing food! Menu has great variety, creativity and best of all is deliciously prepared. Ambiance is relaxing yet energetic and fun. Staff is courteous professional and welcoming. Can't wait to go back to try other dishes!

Yelp
The good: Server was attentive , correct, and friendly. Food was tasty ( I had the pappardelle - just the right amount of bite and sauce that was neither too watery nor thick). Ambience was nice - there were 4 of us and we declined a small table offered and got a booth, which was perfect. The bad: 1. There was a charge of $1.25 for each person who asked for a split check! So the restaurant got an extra $3.75 from our party. I did not look if this was taxable. This was the first time I've seen a charge per split check. I don't recall this was disclosed in the menu nor did the server warn us when the request was made. We felt this was a cheap trick for the restaurant to make more money and left a very bad impression of the place that will remain. 2. We got there at 1PM and were informed by the server at about 2PM that management asked her to close up. We were NOT informed when we arrived that the restaurant was closing in an hour. For a restaurant that names itself "Mediterraneo" which sounds European, it sure does not act like a European restaurant. So, I suggest if you wish to split a check in the future, order individually but sit close to each other. And ask when they wish to close before going in.

Yelp
Service was great. When we walked in(Labor Day) we were the only people in the restaurant. We were promptly seated and got water then orders food. My wife and MIL loved the vegan paella. I had the lasagna with béchamel sauce. The paella takes about 30 minutes to cook (we were informed when we ordered it). About 15 minutes after placing our order the restaurant lost power. The kitchen managed somehow to got our food cooked and out to us piping hot. At this point the restaurant had closed to other patrons. Would definitely come again. Another must have are the Brussels sprout appetizer; to die for. Roasted Brussels sprouts topped with pistachios and local honey. Must try!

Yelp
I have previously had food from Mediterrano on my birthday and even got a complimentary dessert. The food was so good that I wanted to have it again on my anniversary (which is tomorrow ). Unfortunately they are not open on Sunday. That's why we had started our celebration early by having food from Mediterrano on our anniversary eve. Previously I forgot to share my experience but this time I was determined to give my review, given the food was so good every time we ordered from this restaurant. If I have to share my experience, I want to sum it up in one phrase-'value for money'. As the name of the restaurant suggests, it has food from Mediterranean region, be it Greek, Italian or Spanish. So you get food varying from paella to pasta to poikilia. There is no dearth of choices. Not only that going back to my criterion of judging good food, I have only one criterion, I am willing to pay as long as it ticks both the boxes-quality and quantity. Mediterrano ticks both the boxes. Today we ordered two small plates-patatas bravas and funghetto and one pasta- fettuccine with chicken. The total was around $50. But quantity was so much that we couldn't even finish the small plates and have saved the fettuccine for another meal. Prior to this restaurant my favourite go to place for tapas was Aventura. But now Mediterrano is my new favourite. And the cherry on top is the poached egg over the patatas bravas and the slight lemony flavour of the funghetto. Not to mention the complimentary garlic bread with olive oil, which we will be having in the next meal. Sorry, forgot to take pictures today, the food was so enticing. These are from my birthday treat at Mediterrano.

Yelp
We hadn't been to Mediterraneo in quite awhile getting there at 8:30pm midweek. Anita greeted at the door saying that the kitchen was closed. Being very disappointed we mentioned that we had driven from Chelsea. She spoke with the manager and he said that we could come in but order quickly. We did and the food was delicious. I ordered the Gnocchi and my husband ordered a seafood dish which was also very good. Anita was very attentive and very pleasant. Anita and the staff were fantastic, assisting with a wine selection. We definitely go back, but earlier and ask to sit in Anita's section again. We can't wait to go back to Mediterraneo for dinner. Nancy and John Zajac Chelsea, Michigan
