Went on a Thursday night around 8:30. My wife walked in and was able to be seated but had some trouble getting a server. When I went to the front I was immediately accommodated with a server where we chose to sit outside as we didn't like where we were seated within the dining room. The menu is a pre fixed menu with bread coming out first, a small salad and then rib eye steak I belive and fries. The food was very good, the bread is just bread so if that's your thing you'll love it. The salad was very small but the dressing they used was so good, I think it had a hint of horseradish or grey poupon mustard. The steak was over cooked for me but I think they got it right for my wife, we both requested our steaks to ve done to medium. The first round of steaks was okay, whatever sauce they give you for it is absolutely divine. The fries are just regular shoe string fries, either you like them or you don't. We initially thought the portions were too small and it wasn't worth the price of admission but we were pleasantly surprised to get a second course of steak and fries included in the price which immediately shot up the value of the meal. The second round of steaks was cooked much better and had more flavor. The wine in the picture was really good, so good me and my wife went to look for it over the weekend at total wine. Overall it Medium Rare is a very good place to eat if you just want a simple meal of steak and fries.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant, thanks to Jason’s outstanding service. From the moment I sat down, he was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made me feel welcomed. He anticipated needs before I even had to ask, offered great recommendations, and handled everything with professionalism and a smile.

Google
This place was pretty good. Most of the tables are all in the same area and pretty close together. I got the pineapple mule mocktail, and it was great. The bread came out very quickly. It was some of the best bread I’ve had. Very crunchy crust with great soft interior. The steak is sliced pretty thin and it was very good, especially with the sauce. The fries were also thin but very crispy and nice. I had asked for my first serving medium rare, which it definitely was, then requested medium for my second one which turned out correct as well. Then we got the key lime pie. It was amazing and came with a lot of whipped cream. Service was decent and friendly, but could’ve been a little bit more attentive and present more often. One thing to be aware of is that it’s pretty loud. I’d say this place is a very good deal for the price considering you get bread (which you can get more of for free), salad, and 2 servings of high quality steak and fries for $30.

Awesome brunch experience. Food and service was great. Shoutout to our server Ever, he was amazing!!

Google
Steak fries are delicious, set menu (32$) includes salad bread. Drinks are expensive i.e. glass of sparkling wine was 12$. The nice touch is that you get seconds of steak and fries included.

Google
Listen, it’s a steak, fries, and a salad. There’s only one thing on the menu. They do it well. The steak is usually cooked to specifications. It’s always tender. The fries are always perfect. The salad is solid. (The bread is really good!) There’s a decent choice of drinks and desserts. It’s probably a good date place, it has a nice atmosphere. It’s family friendly and kids can split an adult menu, but they better like steak. Simple, not many frills, solid, and a tad pricey maybe but hey, my kids will eat there so I’ll keep coming back.

Google
Steak and fries are the only items they really offer as the main entree and as an appetizer mushrooms. All you have to do is tell them the your temperature preference for the steak! 5 stars for 5 reasons 1. The thinly sliced steak was juicy, tender and done to perfection. Slight aftertaste but can’t put my finger on it, but nonetheless, it was good! 2. The fries were done perfectly and super crispy! 3. The mushroom was tasty and worth trying. The red sauce was mild. 4. The price was 33 per person! Well priced for Bethesda location. 5. Quantity is good for 33! AFTER THE FIRST ROUND THEY COME BACK 2nd TIME TO FILL YOUR PLATE WITH MORE FRIES AND STEAK! ( no the temp requested) Good bread and fantastic salad! Dressing amazing!

Google
Nice place for a prix fixe brunch that contains bottomless drinks which includes Mimosas, Screwdrivers, and Bloody Marys as alcoholic options. There are five entree options and even a substitution that makes one of the choices vegan by using a portabella mushroom. The portions aren't too large - which can be a good or bad thing. Service is very friendly.

Yelp
The concept of this restaurant is good for those who have trouble deciding what to eat when faced with a full menu. Here the only choice is how do you want your meat cooked. The food: crusty bread, simple leafy greens w cherry tomato salad light dressing. Thin French fries if you are lucky and are served them warm they are nice. Strips of top sirloin, cooked as requested. I asked for medium- rare arrived on point. Secret sauce which tastes like store bought brown gravy with some pepper to give the impression of homemade. I rate the overall favor as good. Dessert: We tried hot fudge Sunday, chocolate cake and apple pie. This is where they get you with the price. Meal is $32. Dessert is $12+. If you order ice cream w the cake or pie it's double price. $24. You find out when you get the bill. Service: Poor. It was our 1st visit. Was not given any details how the meal was served. As it turns out you get two servings each. Truthfully even w 2 servings the guys left restaurant hungry. We were a table of 7 and only 6 received salads. The servers said nothing and left. We all thought they will come back with missing salad. After waiting for a few minutes and seeing servers serving other tables. Flagged down a server since ours was no where in site. Was told they would check with "our" server. The salad finally arrived after numerous requests. Asked for butter for bread 3x still waiting. Our waiter came around to table at beginning to take drink order and once more because we strongly requested his presence to request the bill. Again we waited until my husband got fed up and walked for hostess station and complained. The restaurant ambiance is loud. Not a good place if you want to have a quiet meal or one to catch up with family & friends.

Yelp
Sunday 6/1/25 I don't fully remember how I found this spot, but I was intrigued after seeing the praise for their steak frites and French toast. However, I was also taken aback by the very expensive prices. The menu is limited, so there are not too many items to choose from. Spent $62.58 on a takeout order for takeout: a side of French toast $10, steak frites $34.95, and a six-layer carrot cake slice $12. - The side of French toast is easily their most fairly priced item. It's decent, but it needs syrup to reach its peak. The textures reminded me of a croissant due to its crispy exterior and layered interior. - The steak frites comes with steak, fries, and a side salad. The steak experience with the sauce was pretty good, the fries were underwhelming: thin, dry, crunchy, and the side salad was standard. - When it came to their carrot cake, I had heard a decent review about hype from Reddit. The carrot cake on first taste wasn't overly sweet and was pretty enjoyable. But after eating it again a few hours later, I didn't have that same feeling. Overall, I had a decent experience regarding the food, but the expensive pricing brings the overall experience down. -- For more FOOD content, follow me on Instagram: @issa.cheatday

Yelp
So the overall experience was about a three star, what brought me to this? What's the combination of a few things. Let's start with the ambience, it was nice, quiet, welcoming, but very very restricted of space. I really wish that they would have sat us at a bigger table that had a little bit more over, the service was great, they were very attentive and ready to suggest items as well as recommend different choices. When the food came out, it look great but some plates were hot and others cold. Unfortunately, I was the one with the cold. When I requested for my meal to be remade the server, gracefully apologize, and placed that request. When I receive my food, the second time it was still incorrect, it was overcooked plus the portions were small, but I was told that this was because it was brunch and not dinner which I guess it's understandable

Yelp
If you're into bottomless mimosas for brunch with your friends you might want to give Medium Rare a try. Don't expect tacky IG worthy decor though. I opted for the Steak and Eggs with your side of fries. The brunch set also includes a choice of salad, Greek yogurt, or a fruit bowl. Screw Drivers, Mimosas, and Bloody Mary, for your non-alcoholic friends there's always orange juice. Best part yet no time limit. The staff make sure you have your drinks refilled in time when asked.

Yelp
The food is amazing. The steak, fries, bread with butter, salad, chocolate cake... there are moments when I crave this during the day. The service was also great. Edgar is great and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Would recommend to ask for Edgar as your server when you get the chance to visit!

Yelp
I was visiting Bethesda recently and was looking for an affordable steak and ran into this place. I didn't do my research and got here to realize they only had one thing on the menu so that was weird especially since I came here with my supervisor. We decided to just try it and I will say the sauce on top of the steak was phenomenal but the steak was just alright. Although I can't say anything bad about the place but doubtful I'll ever return due to the lack of choices.

Yelp
My friend was visiting from out of town and was craving steak. Our typical steak frites place, Mon Ami Gabi, was under renovation, so we were looking for something different. The major steak houses didn't open until later in the evening and seemed too serious, so we decided to check out Medium Rare. We got here around three, when they started serving the set menu option with steak frites, bread, and a salad for less than $30, which we thought was an amazing deal. The server was also very accommodating and asked the manager if we could also be offered the brunch menu in case that was of interest, and they were able to do that. We ended up going with steak frites set menu, since that was the goal of the meal. The meal started with a warm basket of bread and a generous square of butter. This was followed by a salad that was beautifully dressed, each leaf tossed in a thin coat of dressing, such that there was no lack of dressing, but the salad still tasted so refreshing. The steak frites were really the star of the meal. The fries were perfectly fried and not too salty. Each of our steaks were prepared to our liking and already pre-sliced for easy eating. The sauce was delicious too. The big surprise came when we finished our steak and fries, and the server came back with a skillet with a second helping of steak frites for each of us. The second helping was again delicious as the first. Somehow, my friends still found room for dessert after this. They ordered a hot fudge sundae and an apple pie with ice cream, respectively, and both devoured them. Very generous dessert portions. Overall, we had a great time. The food was delicious with great portions. The ambience was casual, which was exactly what we were looking for. We sat inside, but the outdoor seating also looked inviting. Street parking or there's a Montgomery county garage close by. Free parking on Sundays

Yelp
Everything about Medium Rare was so good. Steak frites, the pineapple mule, the atmosphere. Everything was beautiful. Save room in your stomach because they serve two portionings of the steak frites. They cooked mine to my wish (perfectly medium well). Wish I had room for dessert. I cannot wait to come back here.

Yelp
We came here for Father's Day last year and had a pretty good experience. The food was great but they had definitely overbooked. Luckily we still got an outdoor table within a couple mins. We went again this year with a 6pm reservation, got there at 6, and they said it would be 30 mins, maybe more. We have a 1 and 4 year old, so very disappointing!! This place completely overbooks and it's just really not cool on an important holiday. Never trying to do this again :(

Yelp
I've heard of Medium Rare for months and have compared it to the famous French restaurant that just opened a location in NY bc they serve the same thing and have the same business style. To no one's surprise, my friend and I enjoyed their steak and fries! I wish I had enough room left to try their gigantic desserts, but next time :))

Yelp
Bottomless brunch at medium rare was such a fun vibe! I always love medium rare for dinner but had never been for brunch. My friend and I both got the steak and eggs which were delish per usual. They don't refill your plate like they do for dinner (so cough cough team could you change that please?) Shout out to our servers Ever and Annes! They made me a custom iced coffee and made us laugh nonstop. Can't wait to go back again.

Yelp
I admit that this might be a harsher review than some others as I am a huge fan of the creators of this concept (L'Entrecôte de Paris and Café de Paris - Chez Boubier (Geneva)). Medium Rare's execution of the idea is good on all fronts except the most important one - the sauce. While they may make the sauce themselves, it still tastes like it comes out of a can. It did not rock my world. The service was okay but we only saw our waiter at the beginning and the end of our meal with no check in during which was a little surprising. There are many recipes out there for sauces similar to that of L'Entrecôte and Medium Rare should think about offering their own version as an option on the menu. Just my two cents.

Yelp
This was my first time at this Medium Rare location! It had a nice ambience and was in an easy to locate area. Parking was convenient as well! The staff were really friendly as my group did the streak frites and the bottomless drinks. I originally ordered a Bloody Mary but was not a big fan of it (it was my first time trying one) and our waiter was kind enough to switch it out for bottomless mimosas instead. It did take a little while for someone in my party to get their first drink but it was okay because the food came out quick and was very good!
google avatar

Jon L.

Yelp
Went for Brunch bottomless mimosa/bloody Mary's with steak frites for $35 common let's goooooo! Steak frites are almost indistinguishable from relais de entrecôte in Paris that has a line all day everyday. Pro tip... you can add the life changing brunch French toast with real maple syrup for 11 bucks. Get your butt out of bed on Sunday and change the trajectory of your whole week!

Yelp
I'm absolutely *obsessed* with this place! The food is always on point--especially the fries, steak and sauce, which are downright delicious. You really can't beat the quality for the price. The ambiance has a nice upscale feel that makes every visit feel special. Every time I'm in the DC/MD area, I make sure to stop by; it's truly a treat. I'll probably be back at least five times during my work trip.....it's that good!
google avatar

Yelp
Are you someone who gets overwhelmed with big menus? Well you are in luck. There is essentially only one option at Medium Rare and it is steak. Vegetarians and vegans are sadly gonna have to sit this one out as there are no meatless options. Your meal begins with a basket of bread with some butter on the side. You are then brought out a salad. The salad is a bit on the plain side but it gets the job done. Then comes the real star of the meal: the steak and fries. The steak is pre-sliced and juicy as can be. The fries are a little plain but if you dip it in the secret sauce then you are good to go. Once you finish your first plate of steak and fries they bring you out a second serving of more steak, fries, and secret sauce. Everything is served quickly, the environment is very intimate and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Back for Mother's Day dinner which was super busy but the staff did their best to accommodate everyone and get our food and drinks out. Had a few things forgotten but will a gentle reminder we managed to get all we needed for a good meal. Since it was busy we took dessert to go and rather enjoy at home in peace. The tables were maxed out that it was a squeeze to get passed people to go to the restrooms which was awkward and I'm happy we were not sitting there. Otherwise still good.

J B.

Yelp
A number of my friends have raved about Medium Rare. I have been planning to try this place for a while. It was okay. The steak is French style with sauce and frittes. The food was good, and with the fixed price menu I felt as though I was getting my money's worth. The setting also was nice. Nonetheless, I have had better and probably would not go back.
google avatar

Billy V.

Yelp
Service and vibe was great 5/5. The food itself I would give 3/5. I asked for medium and it still came out as medium rare. The steak was very chewy even when cut up into tiny pieces I had to chew it like gum and it still wouldnt break down so ended up shallowing half of my dinner. The bread, salad, and fries however was a different story. They were delicious but the highly for a restaurant and what theyre known for should be the steak not the side dishes. It was very disappointing to say the least. We had two rounds of the steak and fries come out. The second doesnt come with the sauce on it so you can pour it yourself, which I was glad because the sauce was terrible too. You can park at the garage next door. I definitely wont come back and dont see the hype of this chain
google avatar

Lily T.

Yelp
This is my first time trying Medium Rare. I didn't think they would have any vegan options, but in fact they do! My friends and I went for brunch. The servers were very attentive and the restaurant wasn't too crowded. The meal starts off with a basket of fresh warm bread. It easily just melted into your mouth. I then ordered the salad (you can also select either a yogurt parfait or fruits). I was happy to hear the salad was vegan including the dressing. The salad was very refreshing and crisp. The Dijon dressing has the perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. I was very curious about the vegan option which was a mushroom steak. I was not disappointed at all! The mushrooms are perfectly cooked with a delicious tomato sauce to go along with them. I really appreciated how easy it was to accommodate to a vegan diet and that I could enjoy this meal with friends (and not have to only eat a salad or fries). The sauce was so good I had to scoop the rest of it on the bread. For a flat rate of $31.95 I would say this is a pretty good deal. You also get bottomless drinks with this. I would definitely come back and recommend
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
This place can be a hit or miss. For brunch you get to choose one app and one entree. It is not unlimited food like other brunches but they do have al la carte. The yogurt parfait was fresh and great. The waffles is what really makes this place! They come out fresh and hot. Now the steaks were thin and cold. The gravy sauce on the steaks was really good as well as the frites but they were cold. Let your server know not to wait on all the food and just bring out everyone once ready to eat fresh and hot. The area is really nice and there are other restaurants to go to after. The parking isn't that good but they have a public parking garage a block away.

Jonas C.

Yelp
Used to be good service ... but now it is very bad ... service takes for ever and treatment is sub par...

Yelp
Always good and my son loves the steak frites and double portions !!! Always great service as well. When the weather gets nicer patio is great too.

Yelp
We went for the first time last night as my husband was looking forward to trying this place. It's smaller than we expected but still plenty of seating. Not terribly crowded at 5:30 on Saturday night. Despite it not being too crowded, it was very loud. The servers all seem to work together as well. They have a board with drink specials and about 4 beers on tap in addition to the wine. I went with the hibiscus margarita and it was really great! This is a fixed menu; bread, salad, steak, fries. That's it. Unless you're a vegetarian and they have a mushroom instead of steak. The bread was warm and came with salted butter. Bread was a little too crunch for us, plus we didn't want to fill up on it. The salad was delicious and just enough food. We both ordered the steak medium rare and I will say for the most part is was cooked that temperature with a few over cooked pieces. The sauce over the meat was really tasty and these might have been the best fries I have ever had. One thing we weren't expecting is that you get seconds! They brought over the second round of food and it was definitely over cooked but still tasty. We also got the hot fudge sundae to share. That was very good, but could have used a little more hot fudge. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here and would definitely come back for a special occasion.

Yelp
1 hour wait and the guy with the hat was watching me while I hate. Mid at best. But great food
google avatar

Al B.

Yelp
Service? Oh, it's nothing to write home about. You'd think with a reservation you'd be seated quickly--ha! We waited 40 minutes. Guess reservations are just a suggestion? The food? Mediocre at best. They tell you they'll bring you two portions, but what they really mean is 'we'll bring you one portion, and we'll split it in half to confuse you.' I ordered my steak medium well, but clearly, they misunderstood and thought I wanted it well beyond well-done. The ambience? A nightmare. It's so loud you could barely hear yourself think, and the tables are so crammed together you practically have to shout at your date just to communicate. I swear, it felt more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. And with the mob of people waiting, you'd think they might invest in better outdoor seating... but nah, why bother? It's not like Maryland summers are humid and rainy or anything. The only saving grace? The drinks. Kudos to whoever made the strawberry lemonade and pineapple drinks--they were the highlight. But honestly, after all the hype? Totally overrated. Not worth it, not in the slightest.

Yelp
Sasha was our waiter and the service was great -- she was so attentive to our needs and was just very personable!!

Yelp
My family wanted to switch it up for my Dad's birthday and try a different place so I suggested Medium Rare. I've always been curious about the place and glad I got to shoehorn it in the schedule. We booked a brunch slot because the bottomless option seemed like a good deal. There is only street parking (as far as I know) in front of the restaurant but they have plenty of garages in walking distance. We got seated pretty quickly and I was surprised that it wasn't busy at 11:30 AM on a Sunday but I guess thats lucky for us. The decor was cool, lots of brick. Our server was friendly and explained how it worked. For brunch, you get their fresh baked bread, a choice of salad, fruit salad, or a parfait, and an entree. You also get (a selection of) bottomless drinks. I opted for the fruit salad to start and the Steak & Eggs with a mimosa. The bread was really warm, soft on the inside, and crusty (in a good way) on the outside. Fruit salad was ok, kind of like a grocery store fruit salad. The steak was cooked a nice medium rare and the secret sauce that came with is just as good as everyone says. The fries were perfectly crispy. Another thing that I got to try was the French Toast which might possibly be one of the best I've had. It was crispy outside and almost custardy inside. I definitely see the appeal of this place and I will definitely be making my way back eventually. I even heard they refill you on fries which is a major plus so if I stay longer next time hopefully I can get more fries!
google avatar

Shari D.

Yelp
Stopped in while getting the car serviced, and man, what an experience! Our server was super attentive, he described all of the options to us before we ordered and checked in quite often. I opted for the French toast, which was HUGE! I couldn't even finish all of it, the chorizo was beautifully cooked, I even ordered another one. The bottomless mimosas were great, unlike some other brunches, there's no time limit! They have a very nice setup, with patio seating and ample bar seating. I'll definitely like to try their dinner menu and indulge in their evening cocktails.

Yelp
I had such an amazing time here. Upon arrival we were greeted with such good energy and a vibrant smile from the host. Who was able to sit us very quickly. The place already had a good amount of people who were attending brunch as well. They have a set brunch menu which is available for all guest who attend. You can do unlimited drinks which range from mimosa to screwdrivers and others such as coffee. The meal I had was the steak and eggs which was cooked to perfection. I was able to steal a bite of my girlfriend's French toast oh man I loved it so much.. I drank a screwdriver probably every 15 minutes after I finished one lol.. it was such a good experience and did I mention how beautiful it looked inside!! Make sure to make you way down to Medium Rare it was a pleasure!

A. B.

Yelp
Always a nice visit when we go to Medium Rare. The front desk hostesses are so pleasant and personable, gets our dinner off to a good start. And the steak frites are excellent value. Great to have them in our neighborhood.

Yelp
This place was PACKED on Valentine's day! We had made reservations, but when we arrived, they said they were running behind with seating, so we waited another 20 minutes or so for our table. The tables were all very tightly packed together, the bar area was standing room only, it was hectic. The waiter came to us quickly with waters and to take our drink orders. The cocktails are written on the walls as opposed to on the menu, and they had three different valentines specials. I asked the waiter what those drinks were and he said "one is gin, one is vodka, and one is rum." Not the most helpful description, so we ended up just sticking with water. The menu is set, so they first brought out some sourdough bread which was very good. Next they brought out a salad that was just mixed greens, dressing, two cherry tomatoes. It would have been nice if there was a little more to it, but it was still good. Finally, they bring out the steak and fries, the best part! They steak was cooked well and the sauce on top was absolutely delicious! They come around again to give you seconds as well, which was enough to take home. Overall, this is a nice place to get a well priced meal, probably wouldn't come again on valentine's day, but it would be nice when it's less busy.

Yelp
Terrible! Went to Medium Rare and the key lime pie is HALF the size it used to be. Used to be the best, everyone loved it. Now it's a joke. Shrinkflation is real, folks--thanks to Joe Biden and his disastrous economy. So unfair to the American people. SAD!

Stephanie H.

Yelp
What a wonderful place for a fun family birthday celebration! Carmen and her team really made it special - the food was delicious and the service impeccable.

B H.

Yelp
It was our first time here, and the food was solid and at a very good price. Service was quick and really great. A couple things to note though, that never came up in the reviews I saw: 1. We made a reservation on Opentable for 8pm. Got there at 8, and had to wait about 15 min or so for a table. Lots of people came in with the same issue. For whatever reason, their reservation system was not properly synced with what was happening in real time . They should have turned off reservations, honestly. 2. The vibe here was not really my scene. Because the meal is so inexpensive, it attracts a very young crowd, like teenagers and college students. They had large parties and took up most of the restaurant. Not really my vibe at almost 40. 3. The apple pie was kind of terrible. Crust had no flavor at all and the filling wasn't very sweet. Definitely a waste. Would try the chocolate cake next time. Overall, though, the meal itself and service was great and I would definitely go back at an earlier time or on a weekday.

Yelp
I'd give this place a 3.5. It's good but could be better. Went here on a Saturday for brunch and the place was pretty busy. I ordered the steak and eggs (basically the steak frites with a side of eggs, cooked your way--I chose scrambled). The dish was pretty good but the steak was kind of small and thin. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. I think I had just the right amount of gravy, but my husband got way too much and thought it was overpowering. My favorite thing was actually the eggs--soft, fluffy, delicious! I also really enjoyed the parfait. The toppings were a good mix and added the perfect amount of sweetness to the creamy yogurt. I also got the bottomless drinks. Mimosas were good (they let you mix your own), bloody Mary was ok but I'd skip the screwdrivers. They tasted like watered down orange juice. Service was just okay but I guess it's understandable because it was busy. Had to get our servers attention a couple of times. All in all wasn't so bad. I might try out the French toast next time with the eggs.
google avatar

Wendy G.

Yelp
First time going for brunch! The steak Benedict was delicious! Flavorful sauce and the bread soaked up all the steak and egg drippings. The fries could've been a little hotter but I'm guessing we happened to go during brunch on a Saturday. I tried my friend's french toast and it was AMAZING! Truly one of the best ones I've had- super thick and custardy, yet light at the same time. I will definitely be getting it next time. A perk of going non-brunch is getting second helpings of steak/fries.

Yelp
The menu here is pretty simple which makes it easy to order. For a set price you get bread, salad and steak with fries. The steak comes with a savory sauce and the fries are crispy and good. I also really liked the maple old fashioned. The service is usually good but it can get really busy during weekend evenings.

Yelp
Had a horrible time here a few days ago the waiters bumped into me while I was sitting down every other minute we sat at are table for so long before are first serving that the manager noticed and gave us some fries to snack on before bringing are cold food 35 minutes after we sat down. The second serving didn't even come I was so frustrated I told them to just bring it to me in a box I left still hungry and upset having to eat cold mediocre food after waiting for so long

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday, and there's like a pre fixe menu with just one thing on it lol. So not much to say, so I'd like to come back another day when I can choose and eat fr. It was good!

Yelp
I liked medium rare when we went for dinner. The sauce is super tasty and flavorful. I would love to go back and see how the brunch selection is because the steak/frites can be underwhelming after a few times... Overall nice place to eat if you're in the area!

Yelp
Decided to go here on a brunch date today. We had reservations for 12:30; we were seated at 12:34, the place was extremely packed. I'm going to assume this was the reason for the slow service. However, our waiter was nice and attentive. She kept the mimosas flowing. I had the parfait with the steak and poached eggs. I asked that my steak be cooked medium, but it was brought out well done. The signature sauce/gravy that is paired with the steak was good. Overall it was a nice experience.

Yelp
I stumbled into the restaurant and so happy I did. Orvin the bartender and the staff made my night. Just very positive and respect their jobs which is a rare... additionally I was shocked at the quality of the food in a positive way! Having tried many places in Bethesda, if you eat meat and like a good ambiance check them out. I've been to gourmet and much pricier steakhouses that don't serve as good of a steak.

Yelp
This place is one that "does the job": thinly sliced steak (check), crispy fries (check), basic salad (check), warm crusty bread (check). Nothing more, nothing less. It is a prix fixe menu, so as long as you go into it knowing, you will be fine. Items were lightly seasoned so you might need to add if you prefer your meals salted. The customer service was excellent, warm, and inviting. Portions were large, considering you get two rounds of steak and fries.

Yelp
Amazing food, love the steak and fries with the sauce. Salad and bread not bad either. Service was good and friendly despite being packed. Only the rude hostess kept from being 5 star. I made a reservation for 1 and ate early don't hassle me for not wanting to sit at bar.

Yelp
Visited this spot with family a few days ago with family. Cute little restaurant tucked in downtown Bethesda. We had a reservation so we were immediately seated. Great customer service. We all had the house special. Salad and steak & fries. Everything was delicious. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to visit Medium Rare for our annual Galentines Day celebration. I arrived first. The hosts were welcoming and informed me that I couldn't be seated until my entire party arrive, but I was more than welcome to have a seat at the bar while I waited. I went to the bar and ordered a mimosa. It was good- not too much orange juice. My friends arrived before I finished my first drink and I was able to join them at our table. We ordered the steak and eggs, French toast and sausage, and sausage and poached eggs to share. Brunch options were $28 and included bottomless mimosas, bloody marys and screwdrivers. They used orange juice with pulp, which I typically don't care for but the pulp was very light. I asked for a medium temperature steak with eggs. It was definitely over cooked, probably closer to medium well, if not well. I asked if I could have my eggs scrambled hard and I was told that they only prepare eggs one way. They were soft scrambled. I didn't care for them but maybe someone else would. The French toast was good. I was expecting the vanilla and cinnamon flavors that usually accompany French toast but they weren't there. This was definitely unlike any other French toast that I've ever had but i enjoyed it. If I go back I'll definitely get the French toast again. The sausage that came with it was flavorful. The same sausage was served with the poached eggs.

Yelp
Just left this restaurant. Unfortunately, service was lacking and borderline unprofessional. Server was unattentive, took us forever to get our meal (and second portion...which was barely a portion). We had to clear our own plates out of the way when courses did come. And we had to ask for utensils. Not being petty...just giving examples of how to have better service. Server didn't even know what a "cosmo with Titos" drink was and just brought a Tito's on the rocks because they were "out of cosmo vodka". What??? And a woman who appeared to be the manager tonight just spent most of her time checking on one large table and making sure they had everything they needed including large second portions. Meanwhile, we were ignored. Food is delicious. Better service next time please.

Yelp
The menu is only bread, salad, steak, and fries (there is a portobello option for vegetarians). Bread was OK, the salad was mixed greens, just OK. The steak was thin slices of meat with a sauce, and fries. This is not the kind of steak that you would get at a real steakhouse - porterhouse, sirloin, filet mignon. Portions are small, but they bring seconds at no extra charge. The noise level on a Saturday night was excessive because of the small tightly packed tables. If you want real steak, go somewhere else.
