Where to Eat Brunch in New Orleans Right Now

"This D.C. favorite for steak has reopened its New Orleans restaurant on Magazine Street after taking a summer break and along with it an all-inclusive brunch deal that, price-wise, is pretty phenomenal. For $34.95 per person, diners can choose between bottomless bloody marys, screwdrivers, or mimosas; a starter of yogurt parfait, fruit salad, or a mixed greens salad (with bread); and for the main course, a choice of the famed steak frites, steak and portabella eggs Benedict, steaks and eggs, or french Toast and sausage. Hard to beat that." - Eater Staff

I absolutely adore this restaurant and its prix fixe menu; the price point is fantastic. The bread is crusty on the outside and fluffy on the inside, served warm with salted butter. Our server, Sara, was incredibly attentive—she even brought me extra sauce for dipping the bread, which was a game changer. The creamy pepper sauce was rich, savory, and perfectly salty. The salad featured a delightful tangy vinaigrette, and the steak was cooked exactly to my liking, accompanied by crispy thin fries and a generous amount of sauce. They even offered a second portion, which we took home for lunch the next day, complete with instructions for reheating each item. Parking can be tricky; we got lucky and found street parking around the block. Felicia, our host, was amazing and really took care of us, embodying Southern hospitality. Sara kept us laughing with her jokes, adding to the great vibes. Definitely check out their signature cocktails—we’ll be back for brunch!

Absolutely loved this restaurant. The one draw back I had was the hostess asking if I ever been there and when I said no but my friend said yes her reply was, “You can fill her in.” Aht aht! But other than that my server Angel was amazing! Ask for her! She’s great! Will keep bottomless drinks flowing for you and quick with replacing whatever needs replacing! Will definitely be back because the food was delicious and enjoyed Angel as a server!

Came across the new location in New Orleans, didn't know what to expect. The concept is a single dinner pre-fixe option - steak and frites with a portobello option if you ask for it. We tried one steak and one mushroom order. Sat outside, so can't say too much about the inside atmosphere, seemed nice. Service was very friendly and prompt. The starter salads were fine, nothing special. Both the steak and portobello were excellent, the mushroom had a great smoky grilled flavor, not rubbery. Fries were good, fresh and crispy. We were totally fine with the serving size and had no idea that they provided a second round of steak/mushroom and fries. Based on the very reasonable price, that was pretty surprising. Overall, really enjoyed the experience and will return.

After visiting the DC locations, we were STOKED to have a Medium Rare open in New Orleans! If you haven't tried the Steak and Fries dinner, you're missing out... So good! On the weekends, the BRUNCH is awesome. We've been in several times for both, and love the bottomless cocktails that are included with the Brunch. The concept is so simple, and really enjoyable. We live in the neighborhood, and will return again and again. (The service/staff are always a good experience too) Highly recommend.

While the steak and sauce were unfortunately below my initial expectations, and the bread was as hard as a rock, (VERY hard to eat if you have any problems with your teeth.) But other than that, the starter salad is pretty good, and the fries are absolutely bomb. The steak just did NOT need THAT much sauce, and the 'umami' savory taste of the sauce overpowers any flavor of the steak, I think intentionally, to hide the cheap cut of meat. The atmosphere is very open and industrial, with the kitchen and expo counters right there in front of you. Also, you get a second serving of steak and fries, even if you need to bring it home, which is a huge plus. The service was absolutely amazing, any questions we had were answered, and we were attended to swiftly and carefully. Our waitress was very nice and personable, and the kitchen staff always looks like they're having a blast. Overall, pretty good place, I just wish the food quality was a little better, but I guess you get exactly what you pay for, afterall. I would definitely come back for brunch with some friends, since they serve steak and eggs in the mornings, and I think overall steak and eggs fits this menu a lot better. I am also VERY excited to try their desserts, which look absolutely amazing.

Chas saw this menu concept online and brought it to my attention and we decided we had to check it out. Medium Rare has a nice, open dining room that is well lit and plays music that isn't stuffy but also not obnoxious. If you don't already know, the concept is basically saying how you like your steak prepared and the rest of the meal is decided for you. Started with an Old Fashioned which was quite good. They have the large sphere of ice so it stays ice longer and doesn't water down the drink, and the flavors were on point. A very classic beverage done properly to start out was nice. The bread that they serve to start the meal is good. It has a nice crusty exterior and is soft through the center. The butter was a bit flavorless, probably a cheap variety, but the bread was good. Would have been great with a European butter. The salad was a bit of a miss for me. Just some mixed greens with a couple of halved grape tomatoes and a very lightly flavored vinaigrette. Some bites had a lot of dressing, others none at all. They should really either serve the dressing at the table, or have someone toss it properly. So we waited quite a while for our meal. I mean...a while. The expo did not seem to be from a culinary background and was pushing things out not in proper order, missing items on tickets, preparing full trays for tables who already had their food, etc. Our table must have been lost in the shuffle somehow as I witnessed multiple tables who sat after us receive their food first. Our server was very apologetic and offered us more bread while we waited. The Coulotte steak was cooked properly and the sauce served with it was good. Reminded me a bit of an au poivre sauce with less pepper. The steak was tender and ate cleanly. The frites were crispy and not overly salty as well, which I often find them to be. Together this was a nice bite. Up until this point, this review would have been 3 stars, but the server then offered us more steak frites as part of the prix fixe price. That was a nice touch. The sundae for dessert was good but a bit confusing. Malted chocolate balls throughout was an interesting addition, but a sort of wet walnut "topping" was completely at the bottom of the sundae. Didn't even know it existed til the last few spoonful's. The price and flavor alone makes this 3.5, but if there was better training of the staff (or alternate staff if the issue is that they don't take pride in this) it would be more like a 4.5 in my eyes. Overall - Medium Rare in New Orleans, Didn't Suck, but there are issues they could clean up to make this a really great place to grab a meal. Medium Rare is an new all inclusive brunch restaurant that has been all over social media. I decided to go and see what the hype was about…Ended up very disappointed and disgusted by the food and service at this establishment. When I got there I was waiting for my friends to join me (10min or so) during that time I was not greeted or offered any water nothing. Even after my friends arrived it was a minute before our server greeted us. I first ordered a mimosa and a yogurt parfait. The mimosa was alright but it would probably take 20 to feel a buzz. The parfait was actually very delicious, the dried fruit was a nice addition. For my entree I ordered the french toast, but our server told me they may be out. So I told her I would get the egg frites and fries if they were out. She never informed me that they were out and brought out the egg frites, which is cool but I felt like the communication could’ve been better. The food was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! The eggs tasted artificial, lacked flavor and were this gooey texture. The fries were hard and cold. I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER spend my money in this establishment ever again.

Found this place on a viral Tik tok, decided to go for dinner for my birthday and loved the experience! Food was good. Service was good. Only complaint was the music was just a tad too loud so I couldn't always hear what my husband was saying. But there were so nice I'm sure if we would have mentioned something they would have turned it down a little. But we enjoyed our experience so much that when I didn't know where to go to brunch with a bunch of friends a few days later we decided to come back to medium rare. We knew we had a big party. And it was a last minute decision to go out for brunch. So we all got there at 10:15 right before they opened and although they could not accommodate a table of 10 last minute since they did have reservations checking in behind us they let all 10 of us take over the bar and get served there. The brunch was amazing! Bottomless mimosas and coffee and blood Mary's. I had the French toast and yogurt parfait. My husband had the steak and egg frites. The bar staff was so sweet and accommodating and we were in and out of there pretty quick considering we had 10 people! They really worked together to make sure we all had everything we needed. The restaurant itself has a cool atmosphere. And for the morning time the music wasn't loud at all. I think I enjoyed brunch more than dinner but overall I'd come back for both!!!

Yelp
Yes, I would visit again and again. The service was fantastic, all staff members were inviting and warm! The food was yummy! I love the ambiance as I sat in the nook by the window and the wine pairings were perfect. Also, that sauce for the steak, bottle it up and ship to me! It was perfection.

Yelp
We came here a couple of months ago for the great deal they have which is an all-inclusive $35 Brunch that includes mimosas, bloodys, screwdrivers, and coffees, a salad or parfait, and then a brunch entree. It is a fantastic deal. The food was better than the drinks anyway. Their mimosas are premade and I am not a fan of premade mimosas, especially when I can't have that much acid from the orange juice AND it had pulp, the worst! I did ask the waitress nicely if there was a way to separate it, and she said she would look into it for the second bottomless pout, but she never did address it after or fix it. I am guessing she couldn't. Also, there was a separate server that pours the horrible premade mimosas. I did really enjoy the food though. The frites and the famous benedict were very tasty. I am not a big fan of that many mushrooms, some of it tasted a little odd, but overall, it was a decent dish and for that price, even better. The hollandaise was fine, I think it was just too much mushroom hash - a little less would have been perfect. I LOVED that fresh salad; I would have liked that with maybe some steak on top to be my entree. The place was clean, there is off street parking and it's not in the super busy section of Magazine so it is easier to park here, service was fine.

Yelp
Unless you want to waste your time and be stared at by the customers I will recommend. We arrived with a reservation and waited for 15min at the door for a host, NOT one employee had the courtesy to at least let us know we wouldn't be able to get our table. What's the point of a reservation website if it's not be used?!? This restaurant is the definition of disappointment, mind you it's the hottest brunch spot online. Kick this place off the list.

Yelp
Kind wait staff. Very loud interior. Set menu with good wine by the glass. The bread and salad were highlights. The steak and frites had a forgettable presentation. Steak taste was good and texture was very tender, and it was a very thinly cut.

Yelp
Awesome staff! Amazing delicious food! My bachelorette party and I came here for brunch to start our PRIDE celebrations! My friends found this spot on tik tok. The drinks were on point! The screwdrivers are highly recommended and you must get the steak frites!! I love that coffee or juice also came with brunch! Such a deal! Loved the French lessons in the bathroom. I was surprised brunch came with a starter that was a fabulous surprise. The mixed green salad was super refreshing prefect paring with the steak! I tried my friends eggs Benny and I wasn't a fan. I'm so so happy I chose the steak frite! It's truly a must! Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Overall great. We did arrive and it took the waitresses a little while to come up to us but it was made up with the experience. You order all at once since it's just a question of how you want your steak. We ordered the Malbec wine which was good. Bread you can tell is homemade. Salad was ok. I wish they have a little bit more toppings on it. We received more bread and our steak and fries. Steak portion was smaller than expected but they ask if you want seconds and come around with more!! I enjoyed the music at the restaurant too.

Yelp
We've eaten here before and it was very good both food and service. Not so much last evening. 1st issue- the music, was so loud we couldn't hear the person across the table. This was not an issue the last time we ate there. I was told that they were not allowed to turn it down. 2- the waiter seemed very disconnected. When asked any questions he didn't know any answers. Example- what's in the sauce with the meat? Answer- it's our secret sauce. ??? 3- it took over 30 minutes after our salad to get our meal. This restaurant ONLY has steak and fries. My fries were over salted and it took at least 15 minutes for us to get his attention as he was sitting at the bar talking to the bar tender. He never refilled our water glasses or asked if we needed anything. He came by with my salt free fries about 15 minutes after asking for them and brought the 2nd servings of meat and fries. The meat was cold. The restaurant was not busy. Although the food was fine, I don't think we'll go back as it wasn't a great experience.

Yelp
A group of us came here for brunch. It's a set price and you get bread, one "appetizer", entree and drink (bottomless mimosas ). I had the yogurt parfait as started and I have to say it was the most delicious and scrumptious yogurt I've ever had. The granola was just the right amount of crunch and the dried fruit added that extra touch! The steak and eggs were super tasty too..even tho my eggs were a tad overcooked per Gordon Ramsey standards The service was speedy and friendly. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would love to revisit!

Yelp
First I want to say that the service was great. The people working here are working hard and are very kind. The food is just honestly a little disappointing though. I think the concept of a single menu item meal is interesting but this location did not execute it well. We went for Christmas Eve dinner and it was busy but no wait and we could even move up our reservation. All of the steaks ordered in our party were over cooked. I ordered mine medium rare. You'd think since it's the name of the restaurant they'd be able to get it right? Our seconds steaks were all much better cooked but cold when put on our plates. I will say the sauce is amazing and I loved it. The fries are nicely done too. But no ketchup, aioli or any kind of dipping for the fries? I couldn't tell and I felt weird asking. I know you're getting a lot of food and a whole experience for $28 don't get me wrong, I just don't think it's worth going more than once. This is New Orleans, a city filled with local amazing mind blowing restaurants. I don't see this place lasting more than a year.

Yelp
This place had been really hyped and I was looking forward to giving it a try. Got early dinner reservations and glad I did they said they were completely booked the rest of the night. So when we were there it wasn't stacked and we had plenty breathing room. The food is a simple prix fixe menu with 3 items bread, salad, steak side fries and balling gravy. As the name says order your steak medium rare. It's very thin cut don't go in thinking you like steak well done or anything over medium rare just get it medium rare that is how this cut it going to come out at its best. Bread was good came with tons of butter to smear on it. Salad had a nice light refreshing dressing. I ordered the steak medium rare came out that way was melt in your mouth good. Gravy kicked it up a notch make sure to smother your fries in it. Fries were good crispy shoe string french fries. We also got a bottle of Pinot noir to drink with the steak cause hey you should. I don't think you'll get a much better steak experience for 28 bucks. My one and only knock on the place is the fries were super salty that's it.

Yelp
Randomly had an article pop up on my local news feed about this addition to Magazine Street. I checked for it on Open Table and Yelp and was surprised not to find it, but it's part of a "chain" as there are other locations around Virginia it seems. The concept is super simple- you get crunchy outside/soft inside bread, a salad and steak frites for one prix fixe. Then you can add an amazing dessert, or adult beverages, as you see fit. BUT WAIT, there's more. You only get half your steak frites served to you at a time! When you're getting close to the end, surprise! You get the other half of your serving. That way it's always hot and fresh and absolutely delish! Now, the desserts are an extra $12ish, but they are ginormous and absolutely delicious. Best key lime pie I've found on Magazine so far. Service was great, ambiance was serene, and it made for a good girls night out. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Went here for brunch after church Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. This is not your typical steak house, but good nonetheless. I decided to call and make reservations when we were in route and I'm glad I did. The location is not big and it was very packed. Since we had reservations, we were immediately seated. The menu is very straight forward. It's an all-inclusive brunch for $31! you get you choice of unlimited drink (bloody mary, screwdriver, mimosa, coffee, soda, or fresh orange juice) a starter ( vanilla yogurt parfait, fruit salad or a mixed green salad) and an entree (steak frites, mediums rare famous benedict, steak and eggs, french toast and sausage or egg frites and sausage) all for $31! Now that's what I call a deal. The food was good, loved the sauce on the steak. Medium Rare is definitely worth a try. Great service, nice ambiance, good food, all for a great price. I know I will be back. Note they're located on Magazine St so be prepared to pay to park.

Yelp
I was able to visit for brunch. The restaurant is cute, and the staff is really nice. The servers are attentive and friendly. I ordered from the prefixed menu, of course. The food is not that great. The food almost presents like fast food quality food. Their bottomless drinks make dining in for brunch worth it, though. It's a pretty cool place to gather for bottomless drinks with friends. But, please, understand that the food is very mediocre.

Yelp
Update: I came for brunch last weekend and have to give a rave review! The fruit, fruit and yogurt parfait and salad are all solid starters! Steak and eggs was a smaller portion of steak, no top offs, but that's totally fair. Service was so friendly and lovely and we WERE NOT RUSHED!! I think medium rare has become a true New Orleans restaurant. We had a yummy dessert too. Bottomless mimosas were served generously too! There's not a better brunch bargain in town.

Yelp
Snagged a last minute RSVP for Brunch today @ 1:30pm. The restaurant was pretty dead. Only a few other diners. Most likely because of the Saints home game & not because the food is awful.. Because it's not. While I wish the food came out hot and not room temperature. I enjoyed it. The steak was good enough, I can't expect my favorite cut (ribeye) for the price point. At least it wasn't tough and cooked fairly well. I ordered med-rare. Their special sauce is delicious. A rosemary thyme gravy! Soft scrambled eggs cooked to perfection and the fries were crispy. I'd definitely go back! Maybe for dinner next time because you can ask for seconds.

Yelp
Amazing brunch. Amazing service. Our steaks were perfectly prepared. The girls enjoyed the option to get fruit cups instead of salads. They also REALLY enjoyed their ice cream Sunday. I loved that we could get it nut free as my niece is allergic. I can't say that any of our immediate needs weren't met with a swiftness and promptness.

Yelp
Waited for them to be open a month before trying it. I got my steak Med and my wife got Med-Well. They both came out overcooked. Dropped a temp for 2nds and after another mix up, I got a medium rare. (see photo) This is the only way you should get your steak here. It had flavor without the sauce (which is very salty.) The fries are good. The bread was soft & hot! A slice of apple pie for dessert was $12 and tasted mediocre. Not sure how well they will do in this town. We were told we were being handed a comment card, but instead got a marketing Mad-Lib card??? I don't think they really want to hear constructive criticism. If you go, ask for Med Rare with sauce on the side.

Yelp
Medium Rare is a popular spot in DC and they just opened a location here in New Orleans! As most people do, I look at restaurant menus BEFORE going anywhere to eat. So, before dining at medium rare, I knew what to expect. It's simple. Bread, a salad, steak, and fries! I see a lot of people saying that it's nothing fancy, but it's not supposed to be. For $28.95 you get to eat a good meal. If you have a tight budget, this is a great option for a steak dinner with friends or family. Here is my opinion on the food. You start with bread, which is made locally in Washington DC and shipped to NOLA. To me, it did not taste like it was made a few days prior and I enjoyed it. As for the salad -- the menu states "mixed green salad" and that's what you get! So again, if people were expecting some extravagant salad, the menu does not indicate that. I also liked the vinaigrette paired with it and they crack fresh black pepper on it for you. Now the steak -- I asked for it cooked medium rare and that is what they delivered to me! I enjoyed the "secret sauce" but I also ate my second serving of steak WITHOUT the sauce and enjoyed it just the same. I did not think the steak was bad or too dry. I do think the service was a bit rushed, but that is something they can work on while still training their staff. As someone born and raised here, I can see why people would be skeptical of this spot considering we have some of the best food, but for $28.95 you get a good 3 course meal. Other than coolinary and restaurant week, you won't be able to find a deal like that in New Orleans.

Yelp
I think it was a Sat. night in DT New Orleans. We didn't have any reservations, so we drove down Magazine Street then happened upon this quite interesting dining experience. So the menu is Prix-Fixe. Always the same, basically 4 items: Mixed Salad, Rustic Bread, Fresh Hand-Cut French Fries and Culotte Sliced Steak . They have a few dessert choices at the end of the meal. We were both starved and said lets try here. So we walked in to see if they could seat us. There was a big party being sat down the middle of the restaurant, but they had a 2 person table by the window. They seated us and our meal was delivered. I ordered a glass of wine and Joshua a coke. The sliced bread wasn't bad once we buttered it. Very tasty. Joshua isn't much for salad, but he ate a few bites. I finished his. lol The main course is actually delivered twice. You receive a second helping once you finish your plate if you want more. Not bad. We both received ours. If we were to come back for brunch on Sat. or Sun. (A reservation is a must!!) For brunch they have a few options for you to pick your meal and then receive bottomless mimosas!! Score!!! Now that sounds perfect!! Overall it was a delightful evening out. Luckily we were seated, the steak was delicious and we will def. have to come back one weekend. Maybe even bring some friends. Oh more more interesting tidbit. When I went to the restroom the room has it's own speaker and it was reciting words and sayings in French and English. Super cute. Very helpful if a guy needs to impress his woman on his date. lol After dinner we drove around and saw some spooky Halloween decor.

Yelp
Run don't walk to eat here. This place is like fine dining on a budget. We arrived on Valentine's Day with a 6:15PM reservation. We were given the option to sit outside with heaters or wait a few minutes to be seated inside. I didn't even order a drink before our table was ready inside. The service is team style and works like a well oiled machine. It is a prefixed menu of salad, bread, steak and fries. Simple but utterly perfect. I've never been a sauce in steak kind of girl but the sauce on the steak is DIVINE. I could lick the plate the sauce was so good. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fries were thin, hot and crispy! The salad was a bit heavy on the Dijon but I love mustard so it wasn't a problem for me. I enjoyed the hibiscus margarita and loved that the signature cocktails are displayed in multiple places making it easy to find and not need a drink menu. We got the chocolate cake for dessert. It is colossal and enough to share with 3-4 people. It tasted ok. My husband enjoyed it. Reminded me of box cake with a nice ganache style icing. We will be back for brunch and will come again for dinner.

Yelp
Interesting concept. The staff was so nice and the atmosphere is great. Quick attentive service and a very simple menu. You get steak frites with salad and bread in courses. They have a great little cocktail menu and nice small selection of wines. The steak was not bad but not my favorite preparation. It is plentiful as they bring you a pretty full plate and then the rest their half later to keep things hot and fresh. The fries were great as were the bread and salad. I only wish you could select your cut of meat and maybe an alternate side. I think that would oppose their one menu option concept but it would make it a place I would choose more often. I also find that in Nola, we like to take our time and savor meals out as a time to talk and really enjoy company as well as the meal. Being a franchise, there is more of a rushed pace. The steak was brought out before we finished our salads so they had to wait and get a little cold. Overall, the value was good at $28.95. I could see ending up here again and would like to try a dessert next time. But it wouldn't be the go to neighborhood restaurant I would like with the lack of options.

Yelp
Went tonight. Was only customer in restaurant. Food was decent. Bread came out hot with butter. Salad was simple greens and tomatoes with a light dressing. Steak and frites came out about 10 minutes after I ordered. The steak was close to medium rare and wasn't bad but was desperately missing a sear. Def saved by the sauce. Was about to push my plate and remaining fries away when they brought me seconds! After polishing off the rest of the steak and a few more fries i was too stuffed for dessert. Probably wouldn't return as I cook a much better steak at home but if you are on a slight budget and pretty hungry this isn't the worst place you can go.

Yelp
The food was very good, the menu is pretty-planned so there's not much to do except order drinks and perhaps desert. I was surprised by the second serving of steak and fries which was included in the price. Waiter was very nice and attentive. My only drawback was how close the seating is, we were literally in each other's conversation . Another bonus is you can learn French while using the restroom, if you know then you know

Yelp
Everything checks out! Service is great and the place has a classic yet modern vibe. Piping hot bread and butter come out first. Then salad with some kind of Dijon dressing. Then the steaks and fries. The steaks are cut and flavorful with a gravy/sauce. The fries are also tasty even though there is no visible salt. Cool place.

Yelp
It's not bad, definitely a great value for the money. For 28 dollars you get bread, salad and a giant serving of steak frites. I kid you not, we got the first plate for us to eat which I barely finished, and to top it off, we got a refill of the exact same plate which we packed to go. It's a lot of food. The best item was the fries. The fries and the steak were perfectly seasoned but I'm not huge on the gravy even though it's their "selling point" to me it's way too overpowering and doesn't pair well with steak frites. Though I imagine that gravy tasting incredible tossed with some pasta and parmesan cheese. Do I like it, sure. Do I LOVE it, not quite. Is it worth trying at least once? Absolutely.

Yelp
Medium Rare is a great steakhouse serving one of the best steak deals in New Orleans. $28.49 and you get a great salad, in house baked bread, steak and delicious french fries. Dont skip the huge deserts, they are excellent especially the 12 layer chocolate cake. The service is steakhouse quality as well. Great for group outings.

Yelp
Went there last night and had a wonderful meal. The staff and service were excellent. I was in a party of 12 so I was concerned about the service but they were overly accommodating to our party. The place was warm and inviting. Medium Rare serves a wonderful steak dinner. They have a vegetarian option, portobello mushrooms, but the steak is their primary menu item. I ordered a medium rare steak and it was tender and delicious. It came with a sauce on it and that was also delicious. The steak came with delicious French Fries. Prior to the main course we were served a wonderful bread that they kept bringing more and more and a delicious salad. The salad and bread were wonderful. And to top it off, if you want a second helping of steak and fries they will bring it out without question. In fact they will continue to bring out more if your still hungry. And they will bring out more sauce for your plate I will advise all that the steak is pre-sliced into tender slices. We all ordered the medium rare steak and it was tender tender. If you order medium or well done it might be a little chewy so I'm just providing my opinion. You eat your steak your way. Finally, we had a slice of the chocolate cake and it was also excellent. We ordered 2 slices and it fed 12 people. I can't wait to return again.

Yelp
- We ordered both steaks Medium Rare. The first course both steaks were medium well. The second course both steaks were medium. This is the reason for the 3-star rating. - Service was excellent. - Host: Please do not greet customers with, "How may I help you?" - Good wine selection. - Good dessert selection. - The bread was great as well as the french fries. - Total bill with 20% gratuity was around $180 for two.

Yelp
Was looking forward to this but it was lackluster to say the least. I went to the restroom when we got to the restaurant and they have weird recordings playing of a man saying pickup lines in French and then translating it to English. It was very odd and some lines were slightly uncomfortable. We ordered a bottle of wine and then we just had to tell them how we wanted our steak cooked. They brought out the bread and salad and the second my SO finished his salad they came and took both of our salads even though I wasn't even halfway done. They didn't ask if I was done, just scooped the plate up. The steak and fries came quickly and while the steak was okay, the fries were so salty they were inedible. When my SO finished his first portion of steak they came and piled on both of our second portions. I still had the majority of my first steak so I thought it was premature. Once my SO finished his steak they brought the check and a to go box for my food. We still had half a bottle of wine and the restaurant was nearly empty, so I don't understand why they felt the need to rush us. We sat there and finished the bottle and were ignored until we left. I was so disgusted with the food and service. I definitely won't be going back.

Yelp
This place is on magazine on the corner, it's very cute, we sat outside on mother's day so they were super busy inside... they forgot to tell our server we were outside after we were sat. The service was good considering how busy it was. The server did write our order in the paper in the table. That was a new technique for me! They had a set menu so not much to really choose from for brunch which you would think would make it easier, but it wasn't. My daughter got the French toast with chorizo sausage (she liked it) my other daughter got the steak and eggs, they brought her steak and fritas, but after letting them know that's not her order they brought a plate of eggs! My mother and I got the steak and fritas, it was horrible! The gravy was separated and weird. The fries were flavorless and everything was cold! There's no salt and pepper in the table so nothing could be doctored up! We didn't really see the server after the order was taken so we couldn't ask for condiments... I don't think I'll be returning.

Yelp
Visited this establishment on Father's Day, food was great, I got the steak and frites with gravy on the side. The steak was very tender and juicy. Fries were crispy and salted well. Gravy was delicious! I also got the chocolate cake as a dessert which was huge and very rich. Service was okay, our waiter was very kind, although it did take 20 minutes before our waiter approached us. If the service was quicker it would've been a better experience.

Yelp
Just go for the Bottomless! The food was mid. Our whole tables steaks were over cooked. The fries did save the meal tho .

Yelp
A pleasant surprise across from the uptown WHOLE FOODS and St. Joe's. Price fixe simple menu. Great salad excellently dressed and served chilled. Great hangar steak cooked as requested. Great frites. Warm French country bread. Rationally priced wines. Good service. Good people. And seconds as requested. Not seen that before. What's not to like? Go, relax, enjoy.

Yelp
I do not know how this is still open. Beef tasted old. Eggs are premade. All around terrible

Yelp
First off I want to say the staff was wonderful. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and extremely helpful. For the food, I'll be surprised if this place lasts a whole year in New Orleans. We knew this was a chain so had low expectations at the start but still somehow left disappointed. Based on the restaurant's model, it's assumed the beef would be cheap but it was worse than I imaged. We could have gone to Outback or Applebees and the steak would have been better. The "steak" I received looks nothing like the steak advertised on their website or social media. The best thing on the plate was the fries. Nothing was seasoned (steak, eggs) as they rely on the secret sauce. The salad was good but who is going there for salad? This city is filled with local restaurants with amazing food at comparable prices. I highly recommend you go with something local and bring this chain back to DC.

Yelp
Steak was delicious. Had the sauce on the side so not to take away from the steak flavor. Salad was light and wasn't swimming with dressing. Carrot cake was very tasty and not too sweet. Pineapple mule was a smooth drink. Overall very good dinner

Yelp
So many rules for their UNLIMITED brunch cocktails!!! You can only have so many before you order food! You can't have any cocktails after the waitress brings the check! It was a good deal for $30 something dollars but you should make the rules known! The restaurant was not crowded at all for Sunday brunch but we felt a little pushed. The place is very nice and the food was tasty but the rules were frustrating. I do not think I would do it again because there are so many choices for brunch in New Orleans without so many restrictions.

Yelp
We love Medium Rare! we've been going to the DC locations for years, and the NOLA location is just as good! $28 for a steak dinner that includes bread, salad, and seconds is amazing. And the bottomless brunch on the weekends for $31 can't be beat. it's a great place to celebrate a birthday, especially when you order the ice cream sundae for dessert.

Yelp
I love trying new places in New Orleans. While this place is part of a small chain, I love the concept of a quick, straightforward menu. Bread: tasty Salad: good-sized and checks the vegetable box Fries: delicious Steak: see below Is this a 5-star steakhouse? No. Does it satisfy the red meat craving? Yes. Service was attentive and quick. Would recommend if you're in the mood for a decent steak-frites in the area.

Yelp
Visiting when first open and there were lots of kinks but went back and it was perfect!!! Simple steak frites menu. Can't go wrong!

Yelp
This place I would say it's worth going one time, but I don't need to go back. It is a cool concept with the set steak and frites menu, but steak is a little small even with the second portion and it was a cheap cut. The salad interestingly was the best thing there very peppery and delicious.

Yelp
If you like sliced sirloin with a nice sauce and fries this is your place. Portions and service were great, big fan of round 2 on the steak.

Yelp
I've been anticipating the opening of this place since I learned it was coming to NOLA. It did not disappoint. I had brunch. For $31.95 your meal is inclusive of bottomless drinks, a starter, bread, and an entree. I started with the mixed green salad. The vinaigrette on the salad was perfect. They also tossed the salad with the right amount of dressing to my liking. I can't say enough about the frites. They were everything a French fry should be. They had the right amount of saltiness and crispiness. On to the steak, the cut was so tender and the sauce was delicious. It reminded me a little of Heinz 57. I heard great things about dessert here, so I ordered the key lime pie. I'm so glad I did. All in all, I enjoyed my meal. The place was packed for brunch and a bit noisy. Service was also a little slow. Nonetheless, I can't wait to return and enjoy dinner at Medium Rare. I hope this place thrives in NOLA!
