I’m a true regular to this place! 80% of the time, I’m exhausted from work and pick up food from mee noodles. 20% of the time, I dine in. It never disappoints!! An authentic local joint (that also have Americanized food if you are into it). But you know a place is authentic when they have white pepper on the table. You can’t have southern Chinese food without some good white pepper! My go to dish is always soup noodle with roasted duck and I get it with the wide rice noodles. So yummy! And it has vegetables in it for some health value. I speak Chinese with the workers here and they are all so lovely. I love my people 🥰. Yummy food and kind souls. And did I mention… very affordable prices? I hope that gentrification will never hit this place.

I’ve been coming here for years, usually for lunch when working in the area. Nice selection of lunch specials, great food and excellent service. They hit the mark with the Cantonese style noodle soups, my favorites are the Noodle with Roast Duck Soup and the Noodle & Cantonese Wonton. But my favorite is in their Vegetable section and is NOT vegetarian (neither am I, obviously). I know many of you meat eaters out there don’t even look at the Vegetable section of a Chinese restaurant menu, so don’t miss ordering the Dry Sautéed String Bean with Meat. The string beans are dry wok’d with salty and spicy ground pork. And it’s the perfect amount of spiciness, wow! Really, everything is delicious, you can’t go wrong. Highest recommendation.

Server was very friendly and attentive! The tea they served when we first sat down was great too. The broccoli with garlic sauce is great! And the passionfruit smoothie is yummy (if you like icy-er smoothies)

Sometimes you just want hassle free, NYC style, inexpensive Chinese food in a no no no frills setting. Mee is that kind of spot. It moved out of my neighborhood when Covid shut it down, and I missed the roast soy chicken noodle soup that got me through the winter. I am happy as a clam that I can make a quick trek down to the East Village for a hot steamy bowl. The waiter is the best, he remembered me and what I liked. I've had other dishes as well but I mostly recommend the roast meet noodle soups. The duck soup is very good. Like I said, quick cheap eats, satisfying and good noodle soups!

BE AWARE; This restaurant was closed on January 6 2025 for a number of days by the NYC Department of health due to MAJOR food safety and heath violations, including mice, roach and sewer fly infestation; inadequate cleansing of food preparation areas; inadequate temperature in food preparation; stained, unclean clothing worn by food handlers; inappropriate storage of pestisides and the manager not possessing a certificate of extermination. These violations show a grossly egregious lack of any regard for the health and well being of their customers. Therefore, as former frequent customers, as well as our neighbors, will cease doing any business with this restaurant, regardless of whether they corrected these serious violations.

the driest roast pork I've ever had. no flavor at all! My chicken corn soup order also had a very strange after taste... it was almost sour? Very weird for a chicken corn soup, I had to stop eating it because I was afraid of food poisoning. I don't know what happened with my order, as the other reviews seemed so positive on here. I wanted to give this place a try, but I ended up spending $45 for a stomach ache... I can't recommend this place based on my experience. I have no intentions of ordering here ever again. To clarify, I've ordered these dishes multiple times from different restaurants over the years... I know how they should taste... this is a far cry from china town level of authentic chinese food

Great food in the east village -very warm staff. The decor is old school and interesting. Fast service, fresh noodles and vibrant vegetables. An excellent value.

I’ve only ever gotten take out here but did it religiously throughout the winter months. I have only gotten their soups which are just incredible. The Roast Duck and Chicken Soup are so good. The noodles are good no matter what you pick and I always add an extra egg for some more protein. The meat is bone in but I don’t mind because it is so damn good. The soups all come with this really tender baby bok choy and it is so comforting on a cold or rainy day. I’ve also had their wonton, egg drop and hot and sour soup which are all amazing choices when sick. No hassle, affordable, a go to for sure.

Food it's delicious. Service is good. I'll be onto his diner like but the food is worth it.

A great Chinese restaurant. Much better than panda express. You don't know what you're missing. I just had a great salmon and broccoli dinner with brown rice. My friend had sesame shrimp. Everything was wonderful and the prices are very reasonable. Don't miss it!

This restaurant was recently closed for a number of days by the New York City Department of Health due to NUMEROUS health code violations including mice, roach and sewer flies in food, unclean food preparation areas, food that did not meet temperature standards, food prepares garments with unclean stains, pesticides near food, etc, etc. This lack of concern for basic food safety and the well being of their customers should be a warning NOT TO purchase ANY food from this "restsurant".

I have been coming here for years. During the pandemic, this business suffered like many others. It was nice to see they made it through and that my favorite waiter was still here. When dining in the food is always fresh never disappointed. Love their ribs and eggfoo young and have had a good experience when trying other things on the menu. However, I agree with others the wonton soup noodles are too thick The ambiance is just a restaurant nothing fancy nice, and a relaxed environment. I prefer them over any fast-food, Chinese restaurant in the area. Prices are decent, but this is not a fast-food, Chinese Restaurant, which is why I believe some of the comments are made regarding their prices. I agree that the prices have increased, but still wouldn't compare it to a fast-food restaurant the quality is much better.

Solid noodle shop I've been going to since the '90s. The prices have, of course, given where they're located gone up, and judging by the other reviews eat in, rather than take out.

This use to be a nice place to go and have dinner, but ever since Alex left the Mee Noodle has become Mee Crap !!! The lady who takes orders over the phone should not be working in customer service. This lady is horrible, so bad that I can't trust that she won't spit in my food , that's how terrible the situation has become. The quality of the food is disgustingly and they almost always get the order wrong. Then they become defensive about it, wtf? The tables look greasy and dirty, like they have been wiped down with an already dirty rag The pork fried rice is mushy and the meats are fatty. Stay away, go to Chinatown for authentic Chinese food. Save yourself from paying for food poisoning They don't even deserve one star

Sunday, December 3, 2023 lunch for party of 2. Warm welcome and as soon as we sat a pot of hot tea was brought to the table with menus. The lady ordered the porkchop special which was 2 pork cutlets cut up with baby bok choy. Drizzled with a sweet soy sauce. She enjoyed it and had some to take home. I had the everything soup without corn starch slurry. Plenty of egg noodles topped with a little bit of everything. The bowl really hit the spot on this chilly, dreary, and rainy day. Prices are reasonable for what we ordered and service was great.

I had a craving for wonton and Noodle dish, so after venturing options throughout Uber Eats, I came across this spot on the East Village. The food was fresh, but I was not impressed with the taste. The wonton soup was bland, and the wontons were very thick. The steamed mixed dumplings were not great because there was more dough to filling. Photos were not worth taking. The dry Noodle and Cantonese dish was the best of the three, but I have had better. There was a lot of soy sauce and oyster sauce, which made more salty than what it should be.

Was not very impressed with my takeout order. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing and their other options are better? I got the Regular Wonton Soup delivered to my home and it was just...very sad. The wonton skins are so thick and there's very little filling. It feels like I'm just eating balls of dough soaked in soup. The soup taste is not bad. However......I dont know if I'd order again from here if the quality of their other food items is similar to what I got. I will say that the food got delivered very very quickly, so I'll give them that. Or..maybe the credit should be given to my GrubHub driver..

We were craving Chinese food and this hit the spot. I'm not sure if it was the owner, we forgot his name but the man who greeted us when we came in was super nice and treated us so good. We had about 6 different dishes and they were all so delicious. We were too hungry to take pictures before. If you want som real Chinese food, come here you won't be disappointed.

One good place to eat. My favorote is 'Little Bit of Everything' soup without cornstarch and their house special fried rice.

I adore this spot! I only come here for the noodles and nothing else. So far I have had the noodlea with roast chicken, roast duck, and seafood. The roast duck was good and had a nice broth. The seafood came with a fish cake, fish ball, shrimp and some squid. The chicken by far is my favorite!! The broth was flavorful and the chicken was cooked well. The noodles are your choice; they have 7 kinda of noodles so you can always change up the texture to your liking. The service here is fair. When I first came I didn't really have great service but after coming a few times it got better. I think that's only because they saw my face regularly and I tipped well. The noodles come out fast I never have to wait long. They serve free tea (plus). The price for a bowl of noodles is 8.50 - 9.20. But the portions are great in my opinion; I do not leave unsatisfied. The lunch specials are 8.20, not really lunch special, but for the area (an average meal not noodles is about 11 something) its ok.

The dry saute fish filet was extremely fresh and tasty. Warning: it is super spicy. The roast duck was heavenly and the pork fried rice was one of the best I ever ate. We are sure going to order from here again.

(Ordered on Seamless) Mee Noodle Shop & Grill has generous portions and fair prices for their lunch specials, but their food is just ok. I tried two lunch specials--their chicken with broccoli with fried rice, and their chow mein with white rice. Both came with half a quart of egg drop soup. I also ordered "crispy noodles" because I was curious about them. :) The chow mein sadly didn't have noodles in it, but I did get four packets of fried noodles, two of which I think might have been the noodles for the chow mein. The egg drop soup was standard, and the chicken with broccoli dish was decent as well. The chow mein was kind of gelatinous and heavy and not very flavorful. My favorite parts of the food were probably the broccoli, the egg drop soup, and the rice, which isn't ideal, but I do think that this is an okay place to get a lot of passable Chinese food for cheap!

Great Chinese food, large portions, fast service. They gave delivery but they have not reopened the dining room.

Food Mixed dumpling in soup = the soup hit the spot but the dumplings were just ok Service Service is good. Atmosphere Almost standard Chinese restaurant, slightly nicer decor. Conveniently in east village.

I came in here this afternoon for soup because felt I was coming down with a cold. I ordered the small order of chicken noodle soup to go. Since most restaurants usually have the soup ready when they open I didn't have to wait except the amount of time it takes to put it in the container and pack the crunchy noodles. When I ate the soup I was surprised to see big leaves of bok choy, sliced carrots, snow peas and celery in addition to the sliced pieces of white meat chicken and noodles. Usually you get noodles, chicken, scallions and maybe some celery and green peas if you get vegetables. It was tasty and piping hot.

Stopped by to try this location on evening of July 10 after more than two years and was sorry that I did. Ordered one dish for takeout - chicken with broccoli - which was insanely overpriced at $16.95. Chicken was rubbery and cooked poorly and there was way too much brown sauce. On top of that, "service" was rude when I asked if I could have fried rice instead of brown rice - as in most combination plate offerings. Not only will I never return, I will recommend to everyone in my neighborhood to never visit or order takeout from this restaurant. There are dozens of other options. Do better.

If you were looking for good satisfying lunch specials then this noodle shop is for you. For the past few years I always get the same vegetarian lunch special and I am always very happy. Their tofu with vegetables dish is hearty and very tasty. Their prices is also very economical.

Not sure what type of chicken they're using but I took one bit and normal chicken does not look that aerated. Took a bite of another piece for reference on how real chicken "flakes"

The waiter at this location on Wednesday 10-09-2019 at lunch time is a disaster. First he can't remember my order and keeps asking what I ordered and then he brings me the wrong dish. After I pointed it out to him he tells me "To take it easy!" Avoid this place at lunch time. Other waiters are fine, but this particular individual is completely incompetent.

Mee is my favorite Chinese restaurant. And has been my favorite for decades. Thank you for being around for so long and hope you guys stay forever.

Am not a person who like to leave reviews but this place is hands down the best place for wonton soup and there sluchies are great also. I like the fact that they fix you food the way you like it.

I wish I could give 0 star. I went in and ordered take out today. Lunch special was a rip off. It's $8.95 for lunch. The portion was really small. The service was horrible and what is bumps up $0.25 cents for? No answer! It's only 25 cents but the restaurant keeps doing this to every single order, how much they will get?! Stay away if you can

I left a review on Grubhub but would like to update it and since you can't do it there... My original post went something like this: always very pleased but tonight the chicken was below par- rubbery, slimmy, fake tasting. Sauce and veggIes were great. Update: I called the restaurant and they were very nice- brought me another order and had me return the original so the chef could see. I appreciate that effort. Unfortunately the chicken was still bad. I'll try them again bc I've never had a complaint before and I hope it's just an off night.

- definitely on the pricer side for chinese take out, especially for the area - ordered seamless, beef chow fun and a small order of duck - the duck was good but not great (not comparable to roast duck you'd get in chinatown but for the convenience of not having to go to chinatown....perfectly acceptable), portion was as described "small" - came in a reasonable amount of time - with so many chinese food take out options, I doubt I'll order from here again

All their BBQ roast meats are very good. Great Spare ribs almost always taste fresh and juicy as they should. (In many places they are dried out.) Also the roast duck is very flavorful. So is the soy sauce chicken. Good brown rice. I usually order the dried sautéed string beans with meat...superior to other restaurants in this category . I love the EGG FOO YOUNG and do NOT care if this-- or any of the above-- is not "AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD". I am looking for a tasty dinner at a certain price and this place fills that need. One complaint: when I order delivery, they are very cheap with the condiments like duck sauce and soy sauce. You have to ask for them and then repeat the request. I like Chinese mustard on my spareribs but if I don't ask for it, I may not get any. CONDIMENTS seem like an odd thing to be cheap about especially when my bill is often over $40.00

I had a cold and was craving soup. Actually, I was craving the soup from Great NY Noodletown, which is the absolute best when you have a cold, but it was too far away. So I thought I would try Mee. Our order came quickly, was relatively hot, was correct and was cheap. And that is all of the positive things I can say about it. Everything we ordered was BLAND. When I am reaching for the salt shaker when it comes to Chinese food, that is not a good sign. Tried the cantonese noodle soup with pork. Bland. None of that lovely chinatown funk I was craving from the broth. The pork had no flavor either - how is it even possible to make flavorless pork? Mee accomplished it. Greasy, bland eggroll, bland chicken with cashews (plus the meat had a weird, bouncy texture), and bland, doughy dumplings. Spinach with garlic was passable. Back to the drawing board. Anyone know a good, all purpose Chinese takeout place in the neighborhood?

So glad they reopened after all these years (they were 2 doors down and I think the old building collapsed..) Anyhow.. cantonese noodle soups are really great. My favs are roast pork with cantonese wonton and thin cantonese noodles or seafood and wonton with. thin cantonese noodles. The broth is flavorful and there's baby bokchoy in all the soups. I've only ever had the noodle soups here (they're darn yummy), whichever one u order be sure to add the cantonese wontons for $1.50! The noodle soups are priced $6-$8. Update 12/2016: Dan dan noodles with wide cantonese egg noodles is awesome!

If you've eaten food out over many years, you've most likely also digested a few things you would rather not know about. Still, when there are bugs swimming in one's chow fun soup, it does stop the flow of spoon to mouth. Mee Noodle was very kind and gave us a refund although they did ask us to pack up and return our food which we did. I'd rather not know in the future when I'm ingesting bed bugs, tics or beetles. On the plus side, we didn't get sick from eating Mee Noodle Bugs so maybe it was just added protein at no charge. Enclosed is a pic of one of the bugs (there were more than three).

Fresh! Hot! Healthy! and DELICIOUS! The staff is very accommodating, and the prices are LOW. The greens are the best! And if you ask them, they will give you lucky lotto numbers!

My favorite Chinese food place. Been coming here for 8 years (even though they changed location). LOVE their soups with choice of noodles & meats. Duck is gorgeous. Seafood dumplings worth sharing! Sweet and sour pork yummy. Love their vegetable moo Shu (from my vegetarian phase). Love the shrimp in lobster sauce from the lunch specials menu. Amazing service. Can't go wrong with the food. Very flexible -- ask for what you want and get it. Amazing gem

All the people leaving negative reviews must be smoking crack. This place is really good and seems to have its fair share of regulars from what I heard. I had the roast pork noodle soup, a sizable portion that I licked completely clean because it was so delicious. Service was fast, and you can't beat the hot tea and fortune cookie that comes with your meal. And all for just $10. Cmon ppl. This place is legit.

I've been eating some dishes such as chow fun, ho fun, and soy sauce chicken at mee for several years and all have been good without forcing me to go into Chinatown. The last few days, I've been craving Buddhas delight so I figured I can order it from mee since they seem to make a lot of authentic dishes. Unfortunately, when I ordered my Cantonese wonton soup and Buddhas delight, I had a few problems: The soup was fine and as I always expect - handmade wontons with bokchoy but I found a hair in my rice and my Buddhas delight was missing several standard ingredients such as tofu, bean curd, black fungus, vermicelli, seaweed, and mung beans. The veggies that they did give me were just sautéed and splashed with vinegar - so gross. I'm really disappointed in mee for leaving out some major ingredients. If they added maybe 2 or 3 of the missing ingredients I mentioned, I may have been able to overlook the rest.

Simple dishes and affordable. I ordered a noodle soup (or soup noodle?) and nothing really fancy. I recommend this place for quick lunch and when you are craving for noodles and in a budget.

I was very nicely surprised with the quality and the food from here. I got delivery last week and it was quite good. I got the Fried Tofu with Mixed Vegetables and it was also very filling.

Great Chinese food at a great price! I normally get their broccoli with garlic sauce but today went with their Singapore Mee Fun. My husband ordered the shrimp sizzling platter with white rice. Both were really good! This place is fast service wise and the staff has gotten a lot nicer.

The East Village needed a solid Chinese restaurant and Mee Noodle Shop delivers. Cheap, fast, solid Chinese food. I had the wonton noodle soup with roast pork and it was great-- especially the Cantonese wontons.

Mee used to be so good back in the day. My broccoli & tofu with garlic sauce was lousy ... the sauce barely covered the tofu and the tofu tasted "off" ... and not even one packet of soy sauce included. Bummed.

Horribly rude. I ordered online and for some reason it was screwed up and they couldnt find a delivery person. They then abruptly cancelled the order. Just awful service. And the food is mediocre.

GOOD OLD DAYS MEE has been gone!! Seriously over priced mediocre Chinese food. I really don't understand their price point and attitude. Entires come with small white rice like other Chinese restaurant but, be careful, you need to buy $14 full priced fried rice if you wanna exchange it. And fried rice comes in only one size. No small one. 14 dollars for fried rice? Same price of entry? AND FOODS ARE JUST AVERAGE!! I miss good old days MEE...

Ordered both the Beef fried rice and the chicken noodles. Beef fried rice was good but chicken noodles a little bland. A little pricey outside of the lunch specials.

Meh Noodles is more like it. I asked the waitress what was popular here, and she said everything. The menu contained 40+ items. *_*" She is a liar. I ordered the beef noodles, which was fine but so very average. The texture of the noodles were pretty slimy and clampy. I felt kind of sick eating the soup. Portions are fine. The small was very sufficient.

The reviews for this spot are way off. This is a neighborhood favorite, I know people who have been coming to this spot for years. My boyfriends mom gets the Cantonese wonton soup EVERY TIME she's in the city, even if it's 100 degrees out! I tried this place for the first time when I moved to the area and ordered their soup at least 5 times in a two week span LOL. It's THAT GOOD. They're also really polite and quick with your order if you do pick up!

Food, especially House Special Sesame Chicken, is great. Others not so much (lo mein, fried rice etc.). However, their prices over the years have gotten very high, and along with the delivery fees, it's becoming impossible to enjoy this place anymore.

Mee delivers again! We have been ordering take out from Mee noodle for 20 years and we used to joke that the food would be delivered before we hung up the phone but seriously they continue to deliver (fast) and consistently good traditional Cantonese and Szechuan fare.
