I have been here multiple times as I work here in the area. I am no longer a food service worker, but have many years in the service area.
Ive been here multiple times, usually outstanding service. Tonight, me and my colleagues went out to be together as a large party as we normally do a couple of times a year. It is often many of us, usually we are taken very well care of.
Tonight, I went after a couple of drinks with friends. We went there after celebrating at work for the "end of summer." I walked over and accidentally brought a canned drink with me which I threw away no questions asked at the door. Everyone was super friendly with me about everything as I got comfortable and inside with my colleagues.
It wasn't until I was there for a while after visiting with friends that I had a drink delivered to me and it a as suggested that I ordered it. I suggested that no I did not and was being persuaded that was in fact the drink that I ordered. No I did not. I had not ordered any drink. When I thought it was no big deal and let the server no, hey, I did NOT order this drink I was told by the "guard" and the server that I did in fact order this drink.
Me being the person I am I second guessed myself and took a sip of this drink thinking I did order it. No I did not.
When I brought up concerns about this, the bouncer brought up that I DID order that drink. No I did not. And I politely debated myself and consulted others before approaching the topic. They were all extremely unwilling to listen to me.
They didn't really seem to care. Even though they witnessed all of it. I tried to consult the team about it, how I felt uncomfortable that they took so much energy to convince me I had ordered a drink that I DID NOT ORDER. nobody would let me talk to any sort of leadership other than the server who served our table. Who was extraordinarily unkind and even went to the lengths of saying "You aren't even paying for it why does it matter?" I keep asking myself when I would've ever said that as a food service worker. I can't imagine the type of employee who could even bring themselves to say that.
It matters because people deserve to know what drinks they ordered and who ordered what. and If you make a mistake or can't remember, you should own up to it. Without being accused og anything. If you don't believe I can remmeber my own drinks, then don't serve me from the get go.
I dumped the drink that MY COMPANY paid for and you all could not even take the time of day to hear my concern. I was extraordinarily polite to your staff, I dare you to pull the cameras and either prove me incorrect or find out the truth about your employees. As someone who serves alcohol you should NOT be making anyone feel this way. Any person who expresses concern about their drink should be taken seriously unless there are ulterior motives at stake.
It's 2023 and we should be asking more questions, or at least listening to those who have them. Your servers and "bouncer" were extraordinarily unprofessional tonight and I will ensure my company and colleagues understand that your bartenders and servers will treat you as vermin on the side of the street when given the chance to do so. I can assure you I treated each employee with the utmost respect and will always do so, but it is clear to me that if this company valued respect of customers this wouldn't have been a common problem with TWO of their staff. Y'all have a long way to go.
