Meet Review - Mount Pleasant - Vancouver - The Infatuation

"From its name alone, Meet seems like it would be the perfect place to take someone for a rib-eye. But it’s actually where you should take people who really like vegetables - or to convince people who think they don’t like vegetables otherwise. Some of our favorites on the all-vegan menu are the oyster mushroom calamari, the Big Yum bowl, and their queso. Meet gets pretty packed and wait times are usually inevitable (they don’t take bookings), but if you go later on you’ll find it easier to get a table, and you might make it for their late-night Happy Hour from 10pm until close (11pm weeknights or midnight on the weekend). It can get a bit rowdy on the later side, so it’s a fun place to go with friends and to offset all those vegetables with alcohol." - Shelley Mason

Google
Amazing scallion noodle bowls with different types of meat. The smoked duck and soy chicken are great options. The passion pineapple yogurt sparkling drink is also good. Value is ok as portion sizes are filling but not huge.

Vegetarian options available and tasted good! It is a small shop with only a few tables for dine in, but the food is ideal for take out. Great service. Recommend asking for sauce on the side if unsure so you can adjust to taste. Liked the refreshing cold drinks options but would be nice to have a few hot drinks too (hot tea is available). You can add on dribks for $1.99 with a meal! Must try C2. Truffle Black Pepper Beef Rib Finger Bowl ❤ -- so tender, juicy and delicious. They did not have Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings With Salty Duck Egg Sauce :( Hope to try it if they have it back!

Google
The is a great place for your delicious rice bowls, snacks and burgers. I absolutely love the smoked duck with avocado rice. The duck was tender and delicious and the flavours were all there. Their signature chicken rice is also yummy! I would recommend the pork puff too. Their service was super friendly and it’s a recommended place to get takeouts and for your office lunches

I am so glad that I tried this place!! The smoked duck zha-jiang noodle is one of the best food I have tried so far this year! My friend tried their garlic chicken rice and she likes it too. The portion was big with a reasonable price! Don’t hesitate to try their smoked duck Zha-jiang noodle.

It was the first time going to this exciting newly-opened place! We were quite hungry and we ordered the signature chicken rice and smoked duck rice. The signature chicken rice comes with 2 different sauce out of the 5 choices! The chicken and smoked duck are so tender and juicy! The bowl also comes with veggies, and it is so fresh and delicious!! The portion looks just right but actually not. I was so full after I finished the whole bowl !! I will definitely going back to try other dishes even though it takes more than 20 minute drive from my place!! *Yummy!!!

Really good food. We got the smoked duck and chicken combo. The milk tea was a little bland but the pineapple drink was great. Portion size was great, let feeling full. Service was quick. Ambience was casual and decor was cute!

I’m so excited this place opened across from our building. The flavors are fresh, well-balanced, and innovative, and their veggie options are also all delicious. The service was really friendly. We’ve had the tofu bowl, the tomato egg bowl (classic), and the mushroom bowl. The week after, we had the lobster roll, which was also delicious. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Who likes dry chicken? No one. Meet Fan is stepping it up by providing Sous Vide Chicken! Moist, juicy and soft! Oh did I mention there's no bones either! This cozy cafe restaurant is serving fantastic meals with a comfort level that makes you feel like you're having a meal with a friend. We ordered the 5 star, thumbs up emoji, Double Meat with Chili Scallion Oil Mixed Noodles and the Sous Vide Shredded Chicken Rice Bowl. The Double Meat came with smoked duck and strips of pork belly, mixed greens, corn, green onion, cucumber and a soy egg on noodles. The noodles had a great sauce on them and had a great chew and tasted. The smokiness of the duck wasn't over powered and the meat was tender. We found that the pork belly wasn't as good as the duck nor the chicken. The Sous Vide Chicken bowl was covered in tender chicken with a simple sauce, sliced cucumber and a soy egg. It came with 2 sauces, a chili sauce and a green onion/ garlic oil. Both sauces really elevated the chicken, creating new flavours with every bite. They currently have a special that when you purchase a bowl you can get a drink for $1.99. We ordered the Coconut Red Bean Oat Milk and the Brown Sugar Jelly Milk Tea. Most Asian know that if a dessert or drink is too sweet then its not great. Because they have the brown sugar in jelly form (instead of liquid sugar) it really helps control the amount of sweetness you're drinking. We finished our meal with Meet Fan's complementary promotional Melona ice cream bar at the end. A perfect ending to such a great meal. The service was friendly, helpful and quick! Thank so much again!

Yelp
Pretty tasty rice bowl here. There are also noodle options. They have sous vide chicken which made the chicken really tender. The choices are quite extensive. I decided to get the basic or popular dish to try -- scallion and garlic soy chicken rice. I liked it. It came with ajitama (marinated soft boiled egg), corn and other vegs. There was a promo to add a drink for about $2. Pretty sweet deal. I need to find time to head back here again to try the other protein bowl like smoked duck and beef. Street parking is available.

Yelp
Meet fan on Kingsway, Vancouver side. They have delicious affordable noodle and rice bowls that is a quick and perfect lunch or dinner to have on the go or just right on the spot. They have a variety of soy chicken flavours on rice or noodle and the drinks and sides are quite good as well. I got the pulled soy chicken on rice, their chicken is super tender and seasoned nicely. They include greens in their bowls, I got cucumbers and lettuce that were super fresh and crunchy and a whole egg that was soft boiled. This bowl was super filling and lots of chicken! I got a brown sugar jelly milk tea drink. it's surprisingly not too sweet, just a perfect taste. I enjoy the milk tea taste and the jelly is cubed and just right for sweetness. They open from Tuesday - Saturday 11am-8pm sunday 12-8pm(closed with have a prep break at 3-4:30) they have good business for dinner time and I see lots of people order delivery from them!

Yelp
Super tasty Taiwanese place on Kingsway near Boundary. Parking is available along Kingsway, as well as the side streets. The place didn't look like too much. The interior is much small than the exterior, as a good 1/3 of the space is actually storage, and is closed off by cat curtains. Staff were friendly and helpful. The meals here are basically like poke bowls, but with land animals instead of seafood. I had the B1 torched 5 spice teriyaki smoked duck bowl on rice. Wow this thing was tasty. They got the duck just right. Nice and juicy and tender. Fairly decent portion size too. Comes with plenty of fixings, such as a soft boiled tea egg, bamboo slices, and fried garlic. Delicious. My friend got the A1 scallion & garlic soy chicken. I tried a piece and it was moist and juicy. Fabulous. As of the time of writing, they had a $2 drink special with meal purchase. I had the passion(fruit) pineapple yogurt sparkling. I think it's basically fruit chunks with some form of Sprite. Not sure where the yogurt was, but this drink sure was tasty. I should start making these things at home. They have quite a bit of other dishes such as ribs and tofu too. I will definitely be back to try more of their stuff. Recommended.

Yelp
Tasty rice bowls with sous vide chicken and duck for 20% off ! Newly opened shop for about 3 weeks on Kingsway and Lincoln st Since they don't have a website yet, I called in for some information on their rice bowls The staff was very helpful explaining what the bowls come with, and their prices The bowls were all ready when I got there (I gave them a call an hour before) The Signature Chicken Rice bowl $12.90 with sous vide chicken thigh is served with 2 sauces (I got spicy and sweet, and soy basil), it comes with seasoned rice The Signature smoked duck rice bowl $14.50 was also very delish. The tender duck def has the smoky aroma. The bowl comes with a boiled marinated egg, seaweed salad and pickled veggies, greens and seasoned rice and perfect amount of teriyaki and mayo sauce drizzled on top. The bowls look pretty and I can't wait to try Meet Fan again. I am a fan of their rice bowls

Yelp
This store is the holy grail for takeout. And let me just say. I'm blown away by some items. * Devil egg chicken sandwich ~ this was unique it was spicy but savoury and was refreshing. There was also a slight sweetness from the soft bread. 7.5/10. * Shoyu Wasabi chicken skewers ~ the chicken was so tender and it melted in our mouths. It had a strong kick of wasabi though so if you like wasabi you gotta try it. 7/10. * Truffle duck salad ~ the dressing was light and refreshing and the duck was nicely cooked and juicy. It paired well together. 8/10. * Smoke duck puff ~ it was ok. The thin layer of duck with a flakey pastry. I wish it had a bit more sauce as it was a bit dry. 5/10. * Pork floss tamago puff ~ BOMB it was sweet and savoury the tamago egg paired so well with the pork floss and that flakey puff was soo good. 10/10. * Crawfish rice ~ it has a nice kick and loads of crawfish. It was good and paired well with the rice. 7.5/10. * Scallion & Garlic Sous vide soy chicken rice ~ the chicken was juicy and tender, I did wish it had more garlic but it was soft. 7/10. * Spicy mala cold noodle ~ bomb. I loved this a lot. It was refreshing and had loads of flavour. The mala really paired well with the cold noodles and chicken. The chicken was silky and juicy. 10/10. * Teriyaki smoke duck rice ~ the avocado sauce was so unique with the duck and rice. It added an extra unique flavour to the dish which worked with the mayo combination. 6.5/10. * Overall this place has many unique Asian inspired dishes and I highly recommend the tamago pork floss puff and cold noodles.

Yelp
Exceptional taiwanese food to try. Big portion and good price so its very valued. One of the best customer service for a taiwanese food. The owner was very lovely and gave proper service and served us very phenomenal food. Very recommended if you are around the area. Cheers!

Yelp
Great little takeout place, the food is fresh, filling, and delicious. The five spice chicken sauce was mouth watering, the dish came with a hefty serving of chicken, rice, side salad, and some veggies. The black pepper tofu was yummy with a generous serving of tofu but be warned it's very peppery. The passion fruit pineapple sparkling yogurt drink is one of the better drinks I've had in a while, must try and would get it again. The brown sugar milk tea has that lovely roasty caramel note that other so called brown sugar drinks miss the mark on. The inside is cute with brightly coloured decor but it is more of a take out place so it wouldn't be somewhere I would go for ambiance or service. Excellent value, it's so hard to find takeout that is yummy AND on the healthier side. Will be coming back.

Yelp
Yummy delicious meal, I've tried smocked duck rice bowl, chicken teriyaki and smocked duck noodle! So far not disappointed, def recommend this place to take out.

Yelp
The sous vide chicken rice was stellar; the preparation makes the chicken extremely tender as it retains all the moisture within the meat. The owner puts a lot of effort into the business and it shows both in the quality of the food and the changes in the menu over time as he experiments with different dishes.
