6 Iced Asian Desserts to Try In DFW | Eater Dallas

"A Taiwanese-style shaved ice experience that piles a towering mountain of frosty snow in a bowl and surrounds it with trimmings like sweet beans, mashed taro, nuts, creamy pudding, glutinous rice balls, and fresh fruit. Signature builds include a brown sugar boba shaved ice that combines milk tea sauce, brown sugar boba, and sweet red beans, all crowned with a scoop of ice cream and a caramel pudding; the concept originates from the Feng Yuan district in Taichung, Taiwan." - Didi Paterno

Honestly, it’s amazing!! I’ve already been back three times this week, and I still crave it when I’m not able to go! I always get the same thing the, icy grass jelly signature(add-ons: tofu pudding, carmel pudding, and condensed milk) and it never disappoints! I’ve also tried the puffle waffle (matcha flavor) it is good aswell! Highly recommend it! The place is super cute inside too.

Google
Their signature dessert always hits the point. It always got a good balance btw cold and sweet. I tried their shaved ice this time and it is disappointing tbh. Shaved ice is filled with jams so it was all artificial flavors, artificial sweet, yet fruit is super raw, sour, and hard. They got busy but the order came out quick. But I hope they change upgraded their furniture one day. Those chair are torn and taped up by duct tapes look bad.

Google
Meet Fresh is amazing! The desserts are fresh, delicious, and not overly sweet. The taro balls and grass jelly are chewy and flavorful, and portions are generous. The shop is clean, and the staff are very friendly.

Google
Bad customer services on October 27, 2025. The girl in front who yelled on me when I asked her a question about the order. Im came here to buy and paid for the dessert, I did not to ask free for it. Why did she so rude and yell at me? She looks young like college student but her attitude is unacceptable for work at customer services. She gave me high blood pressure. I and my husband love meetfresh dessert but we don't need to come back to get high blood pressure. Also, I saw her yell at the other customer to ask her allergy to taro. They are not busy today but they are not happy to service customers.

Google
My favorite is their strawberry and pistachio milk. The strawberry jam in it is super delicious! You place your order and pick up your food yourself. It's not a high-end restaurant and there's no mandatory tip!

Nicolet B.

Google
Went over to this place to get some shaved ice cream and wasn't disappointed! The large shaved ice option was very huge, I think i made the staff laugh when I toppled the ice cream on top over 🤣 wonderful experience! Next time I'll order smaller

Google
I recently visited this place, and while the dessert itself was delicious, the experience left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, my order was forgotten, and I ended up waiting until almost closing time (I was there before closed hour about 30-35mins and there were not too many customer at that time.) What made it worse was that orders placed after mine were prioritized, and by the time they got to mine, one of the toppings I originally ordered was out of stock. To resolve this, they asked me to switch to a different dish, but the way it was handled was disappointing. A couple of the staff members were unhelpful, dismissive, and didn’t even bother to apologize for the mix-up. The lack of customer service really stood out. I hope the owner takes this as constructive feedback and considers providing better training for the staff. The desserts are great, but the service needs improvement to match the quality of the product.

Rai W.

Google
The one I ordered is Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice. It comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the shaved ice, and it’s surrounded by different types of chewy mochi toppings. So delicious!

Yelp
Meet Fresh is one of my go-to dessert spots whenever I'm around Park Pavilion Center. The staff usually keep to themselves, but service is quick and consistent. Their desserts are delicious -- not overly sweet, with a nice earthy balance depending on what you order. I especially love getting the warm Jasmine milk tea; it's simple, comforting, and always hits the spot.

Yelp
We are here for the herbal jelly shaved ice. Our favorite is their Signature Grass Jelly. We came in on a weekend and they were packed. Seating was a bit of a challenge. They now have smaller shaved ice options, will have to try next time.
google avatar

Shirley S.

Yelp
Surprised to see so many bad ratings as Meet Fresh is one of my fav dessert places in the area. The shaved ice portion was huge, and the puddings and mochi on top of the shaved ice also complimented very well. The chocolate egg waffle on the other hand was just so so. I barely tasted any chocolate flavor. I don't expect a great service or a cleanliness here. Doesn't seem like they do a really good job of keeping the tables clean and expect the customers to clean up after themselves, which clearly isn't working very well. I'll keep going to this place because I like their shaved ice and other unique Taiwanese desserts. Hopefully they improve other aspects as well.

Yelp
This is one of my fav Taiwanese desserts in Dallas. I miss Asian desserts like this as I grew up eating them. Years ago they used to give you two free mini milk for free with your order but now they charge which I feel a little disappointed but still, I enjoyed this place. Their chewy taro balls and herbal jelly is so yummy!
google avatar

Intarat S.

Yelp
I love how their desserts strike the perfect balance of sweetness, making them light yet satisfying. One of my absolute favorites is their milky shaved ice, so creamy, smooth, and loaded with delicious toppings. The mochi, jelly, and pudding are all wonderfully glutinous and chewy. Ordering is convenient since they have a self service kiosk, which makes the process smooth and efficient. However, I do wish the atmosphere were a bit more comfortable. The music and overall noise level inside can be quite loud, making it hard to have a conversation. Another downside for me is the occasional smell of cigarette smoke, which can be unpleasant. That being said, the staff was okay, and the quality of the desserts makes up for the minor drawbacks.

Yelp
I had Meet Fresh for the first time in Houston,TX a couple of years ago, and it was such a unique experience that I was excited to see one near us. My brother and I have been enjoying bingsu lately, so I suggested we try Meet Fresh for something new since we were in the area. We ordered the Pudding and Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice. From the first bite, we were blown away--it was immaculate. The flavor was a delightful blend of condensed milk and caramel. Both the big and small mochi were fantastic--great texture and perfectly chewy. The jelly added a nice touch, though the pudding was just okay. Next time, we might opt for a full mochi experience instead. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and my brother did too. He appreciated how it was very unique and different compared to the more basic bingsu. We'll definitely be back for more.

Yelp
Meet Fresh is a delightful spot for authentic Taiwanese desserts and drinks. Their signature taro balls and grass jelly desserts are both refreshing and satisfying. offering a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. The staff is friendly, and the ambiance is cozy, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a treat. Highly recommended for anyone craving traditional Taiwanese sweets!

Yelp
I've been to many Meet Fresh locations and this one is pretty standard / ok. We ordered two desserts. I had my usual tofu pudding with peanuts and hubby ordered tofu pudding with red bean. Both were as expected. I wish they have a separate ginger syrup bottle that customers can add on their own and also have different portion sizes. But those are just personal preferences. We went on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too busy (there were several open tables) but every table needed a wipe down (tables and even chairs were a bit sticky or had leftover bowls). Maybe we caught them right after a rush? I'd still go again if I am in the area and craving tofu pudding dessert, but there are competitions so hoping Meet Fresh can up their game in keeping the dining area clean and fresh.

Yelp
I got the mango berry strawberry shaved ice medium & it was shared with 3 other people. It wasn't overly sweet which we all appreciate. It was the perfect portion for sharing. Only thing I didn't like was how loud it was inside.

Yelp
My family always have to stop by a meetfresh whenever we're in the mainland This spot is no exception They have great deserts and service Will be back

Yelp
this is hands down my favorite place to get a desert on a hot day! i love getting the signature icy grass jelly dessert from here. it gets a 10/10 from me! I like to add boba as an add on as well. They are very quick and efficient with making the dessert. The only thing is that all of the tables are slightly sticky or dirty. It's a self serve place where you bring your trays to their kitchen. I love the desserts here despite the sticky tables!

Yelp
Meet fresh has been a favorite of mine for years, this was my first time at the Plano location. Since we checked in on yelp we got a 10% discount but the employees at the cash register were quite confused about it and gave us some pushback on it. Our order came out in two parts, the employees told us that the hot drinks needed 5-6 minutes but it was not until about 15 minutes later when we went up to them to ask them about our orders did they go to the microwave and retrieve our forgotten drinks. Service could be much better. Overall the food was pretty standard compared to the other locations.
google avatar

Kristianne B.

Yelp
First time trying this place. You order at the kiosk but you can probably order at the front. Ended up getting the mango berry milk shaved ice and a winter melon tea with boba. Everything was so good.
google avatar

Jingwen Z.

Yelp
Meet Fresh is a chain with varying quality depending on the location. However, I do feel that the Plano location is solid. Our group got different bowls of desserts, and I mostly ate the Icy Grass Jelly bowl with additional taro balls added. It was delicious, a bit on the sweet side but the taro chunks and grass jelly add depth to the flavor. The ice base is a medium fine consistency (i.e. between an Italian ice and a fine bingsoo consistency). I also had the oolong milk tea with mini sweet potato/taro balls, which was a fun departure from regular boba pearls, but due to their unusual shape they were diffucult to suck up into the straw sometimes. The space can accommodate groups on the large side (we had a group of 7 around 8:30pm on a weekend night) but they were moderately busy so sometimes there might not be space FYI.

Yelp
ORDER Mangoberry Milk Shaved Ice Crystal Mochi Milk Shaved Ice Overall pretty good though a bit bland. I will say the toppings are amazing! All the toppings: Crystal Mochi, Rice Balls, Melon Jelly were all very chewy which was so yummy. I also got the side with Boba and rice balls. All the toppings are so good and absolutely love the consistency. The mangoes and strawberries were very fresh and spread evenly throughout the dish. Wish there was a bit more milk based flavor because was a little bit on the blander side throughout, but other than that pretty good! VIBES Great place to hangout and catch up with friends over some dessert. Lots of space. Seating ranges from booth to table. I would say probably also great for studying too! SERVICE Service was great! The person at the register helped with recommendations and they clearly indicate allergens on the menu which is very helpful for someone like me who has lots of allergies. Everything came out pretty quickly too!

Yelp
First time going to MeetFresh, and I was not disappointed. My brother was highly recommended this location, so we decided to go. The location is connected to a shopping plaza, so be sure not to miss it! We went around 7 on Monday night. It was a pretty roomy location, but still had a good amount of people in it ranging from families, friends, and people just hanging out. We decided to go with a large Mangoberry Milk Shaved Ice, Jon Xuan Oolong tea at 100% Sugar, and Pudding/Q Mochi milk shaved ice. First of all, shout-out to the Meet fresh employee who created this. The shaved iced dishes were very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. A lot of my friends asked about it on my socials. Second, the large was definitely a lot. We couldn't finish it all, especially after eating previously at a kbbq spot. Finally, definitely recommend everything. It was so freaking good. I always like the combination of the fruits and shaved ice. The Q Mochi shaved ice was a little strange to me though. It wasn't good, but had a weird flavor to me. I would definitely get both again.b Kid friendly place, lots of parking, wheel chair accessible. Would definitely go again for sure!

Yelp
It's always so great to have some taiwanese dessert in the hear of Plano. Meet fresh has been one of those go to desserts that I have been going to for years and they never disappoint. This is a great hangout spot after dinner with different seating options for various group sizes. My favorite item is the grass jelly ice which is an acquired taste for most but a Taiwan staple. Their other menu items are good too (mango shaved ice and mochi shaved ice are good options). It can get really busy sometimes so expect to maybe have to wait or have a hard time finding seating especially on weekends.
google avatar

Cameron M.

Yelp
Always some tasty treats here! We stopped in and had the Ice with Taro, Peanuts, and Boba and it was super tasty. It was a good size for the price and satisfying. We also had the Red Bean soup which was great as well. This was my first time trying one of the hot dishes and it was a treat to have both a hot and an ice dish. Super fun dessert spot if you are in the area!
google avatar

Larry L.

Yelp
This Asian (Chinese/Taiwanese) dessert place serves both cold and hot versions of their sweet concoctions. If you're new to Asian iced desserts, the gateway item you're already familiar with is shaved ice, but served with condensed milk and fresh fruit (like mango). Next Level: If you're already okay with chewing boba (tapioca pearls) in your iced tea beverage aka 'bubble tea', then try a drink with 'herbal jelly' (fragrant jell-o- like consistency). Also, beans can be eaten sweet. You can try adding sweet red beans too. The point of eating many of these desserts is to sample many different textures, flavors distinctly. Notice the level of chewiness in each item and notice the fact that desserts aren't too sweet.
google avatar

Justin N.

Yelp
I would put this in my top 3 dessert places ever. I LOVEEE THE DESSERT HERE. I always get the classic/traditional dessert bowl that comes with shaved ice topped with chewy sweet potato and taro balls, grass jelly, and taro paste. It's super refreshing and I wish there was a location in Fort Worth!!!
google avatar

Parsa M.

Yelp
We got their Bobba and I can say as someone who worked in a Bobba tea store their Bobba was watered down and tasteless. Waste of money. Next time I'll go two doors down to kungfu tea
google avatar

Sunu S.

Yelp
My god this is the best shaved ice place I have ever had. It's not too sweet and the textures of all their toppings are JUST THE BEST. TEA BASED SHAVED ICE: This is semi sweet tea shaved ice and I love it. You don't get any overwhelming sweetness and it's like drinking tea but in a shaved ice form. THE TOPPINGS: This is where it gets even better. The toppings are always great in texture. I love the taro balls and other gelatinous toppings. They are all semi sweet and leave you wanting more. I love this place and I would easily make it my #1 go to dessert spot.
google avatar

Paley W.

Yelp
The ambience of the place is really nice and I've love to go again. However the day I went I wanted to get some work done but their WIFI wouldn't work on either of my laptops. I also tried their "taro paste" milk tea, but compared to other ones I've had and my expectations, the drink was super watery. All the paste (so little of it) was all stuck to the side of the cup and I have to scrape it off with my straw. Hopefully I'll have better luck next time.
google avatar

Jenny H.

Yelp
They have so many offerings here that are so delicious and tasty! I especially like that they expanded their menu beyond just traditional grass jelly and added some good fruit options, like their mango shaved ice! I also like how they are generous with their toppings and they're all well made like the boba, the rice balls and the potaro balls as well- all so good! I got their Mango Shaved Ice, Icy Taro, and 3 Q dish that tasted like icy milk tea! So very good
google avatar

Jon N.

Yelp
This is usually our go to dessert place in which we personally order our perfect combo of taro root paste, ice cream, shaved ice, and chewy mochi on the bottom. Just a fantastic and right amount of sweetness. Overall the service is fantastic, pricing is fair, andI the environment is always lively. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Simone O.

Yelp
Icy Taro Ball B (or 2??) which comes with Large Balls, Shaved Ice, Taro, Red Beans, Boba, was delicious but the ice melted pretty fast. They syrup was mildly sweet compared to the Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice, which has a scoop of ice cream on top. The mini taro balls are always my favorite since their texture is nice and chewy. The ice cream was pretty sweet, so we combined the melted ice cream into the other Icy Taro Ball B. They were super crowded, but we were able to order on the kiosk and sit down. We did miss hearing our number because it was so loud and the text messaging system actually sent the "ready" text after we had gone up with our receipt to check (and grab) our order that was just sitting on the counter. Lucky we had a table for all 9 of us! Always very consistent no matter the location, always delicious and would always recommend for a good dessert!

Min L.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite dessert spots. Highly recommend any of their Taro Ball series. It's all so good and it doesn't taste too sweet which is what I like. Just the perfect flavor. Service is overall good and once you order it comes out pretty fast. The store overall has a lot of seatings and nothing to complain about when it comes to the overall vibe. It can get crowded sometimes so getting it to-go can be an option.
google avatar

Alfred M.

Yelp
Ready for some Taiwanese dessert? Because you have found it here. We come here for mainly their Icy grass Jelly Signature which includes grass jelly (like black colored jello), their famous taro balls, chilled on a bed of shaved ice. Then top it off with the creamer. We like to add almond pudding. Great way to end the night. It isn't too sweet and at around 420 cal (not including the pudding) that is great. They have lots of other options so explore.
google avatar

Seno C.

Yelp
Great ambience Clean and well lit with huge windows. Service is efficient with ordering through the tablets. Great portion, refreshing. I am not sure if I could ask to have less sugar but it would be great to have.
google avatar

Bhas C.

Yelp
5/7. I feel like each option on the menu should be evaluated individually since they have such a wide selection of desserts. With that said, I'm a sucker for shaved ice so I had to review that. I had the Taro Paste Volcano Shaved Ice. The first half was brilliant and easily a 7/7 as far as shaved ice is concerned. My main issue was that towards the end it turned into a bit of an unappetizing slush. Even so, I would highly recommend this shaved ice and I plan to go back to try their other shaved ice options.

Alva T.

Yelp
Stingy on the ingredients. Not clean either. Completely different than other meet fresh locations I have been to.
google avatar

Emma O.

Yelp
First time here and I really enjoyed it! I got the Ube milk shaved ice and my mom got the Q mocha & almond pudding. Total price was $18 for 3 people! (My sister and I shared) Vibes are great, fun place to socialize with friends. Can order at the front or at the kiosk. I highly recommend!
google avatar

Justin S.

Yelp
The desserts here never disappoint. I've been coming to this location for a few years now and the quality is consistently good. I always get the shaved ice and iced grass jelly. These two items alone are so addicting. The only improvement I'll make is regarding the staff workers. They always look intimidating and not friendly at all. If you come during peak hours, prepare to be rushed.
google avatar

Yen N.

Yelp
mango flush is very flavorful with mango aroma. love it. I ordered 50% sugar. Signature herbal grass jelly was satisfied me. Services was ok. Ambiance was ok. pretty loud due to many customers were there.
google avatar

Em J.

Yelp
Service is okay, considering they are so busy. Food is always enjoyable. They probably need more help; tables are not always cleaned, and sometimes they lack silverware, but this place is one of a kind. There isn't anywhere else in dfw that specializes in these desserts.
google avatar

Colette H.

Yelp
It's the perfect spot for a hot summer day outdoors. The shaved ice with boba isn't overly sweet, and I enjoyed it. They offer a wide selection of herbal jelly desserts, with the almond jelly being their standout. However, it's worth noting that they occasionally run out of it, so it's best not to visit too late.
google avatar

Frank S.

Yelp
This place is crazy expensive. For $31.55 we received two regular sized bowls of their strawberry shaved ice. Not kidding, YES -$31.55!!! 13.25 x 2, plus tax and tip... Not only was it expensive, it really wasn't that great either. We won't be back.
google avatar

Ada W.

Yelp
Total disappointment. Tried the hot red bean soup with taro balls. First, it was not hot. It was lukewarm at best. I ate it right outside the store in my car in the parking lot. Second, it was so watered down. There were barely any red beans in my soup!! In fact, there seemed to be more taro balls in my soup than actual red beans! Total waste of calories. Should've listened to the other yelp reviews.
google avatar

Hurjane V.

Yelp
Visit: August 2021 Oops, I didn't take any proper pictures, but you honestly can't really go wrong with Meet Fresh. We only got drinks here, and it tasted fine. But if its your first time at Meet Fresh, I suggest getting one of their hot or iced bowls to try, or even the shaved ice. Justin's favorite is the purple rice drink. I opted for a grass jelly fresh milk. Quick and easy grab and go, and there are other options in the same plaza (ie: Kungfu Tea) if you didn't want Meet Fresh. Inside was nice to hang out at as well, compared to the humid weather outside!
google avatar

Keven W.

Yelp
We went here for Taiwan dessert. My brother and his girlfriend was raving about this place and we finally go to go. If you check in, you get 10% off by the way. We got the pudding and Q mochi milk shaved ice almond and it is huge. I wonder how we were able to finish this, but then again we went here after dinner. They have a bunch of jelly, two types of pudding the almond carmel, mini q, melon, jelly and the ice cream. If you love sweet, this one is for you. They do share drinks, but the ice cream was good enough already. Overall, it was really great.
google avatar

Henna L.

Yelp
Visited Meet Fresh again recently after been going there on and off for the past years it's been open! It's a great spot for hanging out with people, especially when it gets late and not many other places are open. I always enjoy the Taiwanese grass jelly. I made my own this time and added taro balls and red bean. I feel like they were slightly stingy on toppings and could've given more taro balls, but it tasted refreshing on a hot summer day regardless. Service was okay, wouldn't say they were super friendly or not. They're usually pretty busy when it's late at night but our bowl came in timely manner. As for their drinks, I don't typically order their drinks because in the past, I have ordered theirs with boba and the boba doesn't taste as fresh and flavorful as other places. Overall, this is a great spot for getting Taiwanese desserts in the Plano area.
google avatar

Nelson C.

Yelp
Got the passion fruit green tea and a passion fruit sorbet. Both were really delicious. It was a hot day so these cold drinks were much appreciated. Large parking lot with ample parking.
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
A great place for a refreshing dessert and drink. My go to is the classic icy grass jelly signature and a cup winter melon tea with mini taro balls. There are plenty of both hot and cold dessert option to satisfy everyone in the group.
google avatar

Alyssa C.

Yelp
This place was bustling on a Saturday night - there were no seats available! We ordered on a kiosk which was seamless and easy and thankfully a seat opened up. Our shaved ice was incredible - they really nailed the brown sugar boba flavor! More sweet than typical Asian standards, but perfectly sweet to my liking!
google avatar

Hyun P.

Yelp
The deserts do not look pretty like the advertised pictures but still very good, not too sweet. The caramel pudding came out very small compared to the advertised picture. They were out of egg waffle when we were here on a Friday night, last time they were all out of rice ball. I would come back here because this is the type of deserts I like to eat unless there is another place like this in the dfw
google avatar

Eunice K.

Yelp
This Taiwanese dessert spot offers various dessert items on their menu. From shaved ice to tofu pudding, milk tea to egg waffles.... there's too many to choose from! I want it all. What I love about their desserts? It's light, fresh and not overly sweet (which I prefer). You can customize your dessert by adding toppings such as taro balls, grass jelly, red bean, tofu pudding and more! Also, do you know they have Ube and coconut sago series?! Go check it out. I know I will be coming back to try their cold coco Sago signature! Some tips - service can be better but then again, it's an asian establishment so what can I say (ha!) for food recs, follow me on my ig: @asiangirlbigbites

Yelp
Meet Fresh is one of my favorite places to get dessert. Their icy grass jelly signature was awesomeee when I was a kid!! Now, the dessert seems a little too sweet and lack of flavor for me. However, if you look for a place to get fresh dessert, this place it is!
