The World’s 50 Best List Just Dropped and There’s One Singular Bay Area Restaurant On It | Eater SF

"I read that Seoul-based grocery store Mega Mart will take over the former Sprouts at 3900 Mowry Avenue in Fremont; it will be the brand’s second Bay Area location (the other being K Market in Sunnyvale) and its third in the United States, and the Mercury News reports the store will include a gluten-free bakery, a deli, a fish counter, and a prepared foods section with an expected opening on September 23." - Dianne de Guzman

I have never and I meant never written a bad review in my life. But I am just furious on how they handled the situation. I purchased a bag of fruit and it turns out to be rotten. Sadly, I was in a rush that day so I was not able to grab a receipt. But I have the bank transaction and everything to back it up. Was going to just take the L and move on but I was around so I might as well ask. The staff was nice and was trying to help but I guess nothing can be done from their end without the receipt. So the owner comes around and try to get it resolved. At the end he was able to grab a random bag of the same item and use it as a reference to refund me $27. But it was never about the money… I came abt it nicely and wanted nothing other than an apology and some kind of a refund. In the end, he just wanted to get it done with. No apologies at all not a single one even when I am clearly getting upset. Unbelievable attitude towards such a situation. These fruits are rotten and moldy and could seriously get someone sick or worse. What a poor poor interaction…

Google
Review for Mega Mart – A Korean Grocery Store Mega Mart is a fantastic spot for Korean groceries with a great selection of fresh produce, snacks, and unique beverages. I picked up a Vegetable Kimbap, which was fresh and flavorful, perfect for a quick bite. I also tried their kimchi sour beer—definitely an interesting twist with a bold, tangy kick! The store is well-organized, and the variety of authentic Korean products makes it a must-visit for anyone who loves Korean cuisine. Will definitely be back to explore more!

Google
I’m so glad to have a Korean market nearby! They have a lot of sale items and plenty of ready-to-eat options like kimbap, which I really enjoy. I especially like their pork belly — really good quality. I do wish they had a wider variety of vegetables, and the fruit quality could be better. Still, it’s a great place overall, and I hope this business continues to do well for a long time.

Google
Thanks to this store I don’t have to travel all the way to the city for my specific brand of kimchi! The bakery and ready made food looks good and they have sushi! I haven’t tried it personally but the presentation looks great! They also have beauty products that are currently trending on TikTok so that’s nice! They also have pouched juices with ready made ice cups like in Japan 7-11 that one might see on TikTok! Really cool store and customer service!

Google
Very nice Korean grocery and home goods store with a good amount of parking outside. There is also a good selection of prepared foods available including baked items. I thought that the fresh vegetable, meats and fish selections were good but could be better.

Google
I attended a meetup nearby, mentioned I love going to different markets and one of the ladies mentioned this Korean supermarket so I went and checked what they offer. A lot of interesting stuff and very courteous staff. I was even lucky to get the last kimbap tray at 50% off! Definitely would love to go back here when I’m around the area or hopefully they can open one in Milpitas or San Jose ❤️

Google
This is small compared to other Korean markets I have been to. It's nice and clean though. Cute stuff in the bakery section. Got some ready to eat sushi and other hot food. Produce doesn't look very fresh in general.

P N

Google
I tried to pickup up sushi clearly labeled 50% off (Mega Mart’s own discount sticker). At checkout I was denied the discount. When I asked, staff said the employee put on the wrong sticker—yet they still refused the discount. Manager declined to speak with me in person and relayed “we can’t honor it.” Customers shouldn’t pay for store errors. Besides the poor service, it raises a question about potential compliance issues with California’s pricing/advertising rules, which generally expect the displayed price or discounts to be honored or corrected promptly. I hope leadership fixes training and pricing controls; until then, double-check everything at this location.

Yelp
Mega Mart has been my go to for good quality meat and other Asian cravings. Gotta check out the freezer by the entrance and the middle aisles for the weekly deals. I personally like that Mega Mart isn't as huge as the other popular Korean grocery chain. I am able to browse a little and grab what I need - without getting lost. Their bakery, hot plates and sushi deli are a hit or miss. Meaning I've had some good ones and some just ok-ish ones. In the evenings, most items are marked 20% off.

Yelp
Bought some kimbap. They were a day old but I had a party to go to. I figured they might have made it late last night. But it tasted terrible. They were slightly spointed. Rice cakes were in a bag and moldy.

Yelp
This Mega Mart is located at the Mowry Plaza shopping center right next to Starbucks. It's a decent plaza with plenty of parking. Today I came to get a hot bowl of chicken bulgogi rice. It's priced at $12 and it's well worth it! **I'd give my chicken rice bowl a solid 9/10. It's definitely enough for 2 servings and I like that they keep the rice separate in the bottom part of the bowl. Also, I noticed these BIG ole grapes and was curious so I bought those too. Cup was priced at $10 which is pricey but they were too cute to pass. Grabbed some other goodies like ramen and candies etc... They offer a variety of items, snacks, pastries, veggies, meats, drinks and kitchenware. Just to list a few. If you're in the area I'd highly recommend trying their packaged hot food to go. Priced well and it's made hot and fresh. (See pics for reference).

Yelp
When I pay, the cashiers always leave the bags I bring in. After I paid, I should put my groceries into my bag.. they just look at it. They only add products to a paper bag in-store purchases. This is a very lazy and ineffective behavior, I don't see at other supermarkets. Everytime, I visit the market, I have a bad feeling..

Yelp
Fun market to explore for Korean goods. I would definitely come back for the kimchi and for other hot items that I missed since I came pretty late in the day. Prices seem fair for the hot and cold food. Can't wait for them to open in Dublin! RECS: fresh kimchi PASS: spicy fried fish cakes and kimchi/chive pancakes

Yelp
Love this store, bought some duck to cook and they have nice pastries. They have a lot of items you can't get at your basic supermarket.

Yelp
First time here. Decided to come and check out this place after dropping off my daughter to her friend's party. My husband and I love to shop at Asian supermarkets, so we found Mega Mart in Fremont and decided to stop by and take a look. Market looks clean and tidy, product selection is enough, but overall is a bit disappointing, just because it's not as expected, didn't spend too much time. Grab some sushi to go and ate outside the store. Fish are fresh but the taste is not my favorite. A weird combo and choice of dressing is not great. Overall is not bad, but I won't spend 40 minutes to drive just to go there.

Yelp
These are cream puffs I bought here around 5:00 PM today. When I ate them at 8:00 PM, they were sour and spoiled. I'm speechless. I wonder how long ago they were made.
google avatar

Fiona T.

Yelp
They have a great selection but definitely don't go here for your full grocery list. Premarinated Galbi was $55 and cream cheese was $8.99. They had the viral knotted cream donut for $3 which is standard price. The tuna kimbap was 30% off and super yummy! We got 2 of the Basquia banana puddings for $5 each. I'm glad we did so since me and my boyfriend devoured ours. They have an impressive sushi selection but the roll with a bunch of sauce on it was a let down. It looked really yummy but wasn't that good. Keep an eye out for their tableware. The lucky cat collection they had was cute and I almost went home with it. It was reasonably priced too

Yelp
Korean Grocery store, when it first opened we were excited we wouldn't have to drive down to Hmart but now I really miss the Sprouts that used to be here. I'm also sad Manna Market nearby shut down, it was small but I loved going to that Korean Market/Deli. The best things to buy here are the packaged foods, drinks, and snacks. They have a crazy selection of soju and Korean beers as well as cases for select items. The chips and sweets have some items not available at Hmart and they have constant sales so the Soon-tofu packs can often be found for $2. Not so great are the produce, meat, and fish selections, basically anything "fresh". The quality is awful and everything seems to be "expired" level. We needed broccoli and every single sealed package had some bits with rotting sprouts so you couldn't get a "good package" or inspect the backside of the broccoli to see if anything was wrong with it. They have bowls and sushi, we've tried it a couple times and the rice hasn't been good. The fish quality is also terrible. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself but I got sashimi grade salmon recently and it was far from it. Tasted super super fishy and chewy, I had to cook it because I was worried about getting sick and it still tasted super fishy. I still couldn't finish it and gave it to my cat :(
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Update 8/7/25- Definitely going to re-think buying "fresh" meat and produce from here-the chicken, shallots, and lemongrass didn't make the cut (old, musty, smelly). But I still think the variety of products, hot food, and bakery still deserve a visit.

Yelp
I don't know what it is with the Korean markets in SoCal, but I can never find the same level of variety that I can with the ones in NorCal, literally within seconds of going into Mega Mart I saw some brands and things that I have never seen in H Mart or the other Korean markets down south. This includes affordable frozen kimbap (pulled pork and tuna), tanghulu, purple sweet potato pastry, my BELOVED Tom Yum Buldak that I have only found once before, the new Shin Toomba (that I've only seen at the K-town restaurant), various beverages, and so much more. The prices here for prepared food here are pretty affordable and comparable to the prices that I've seen at H Mart and other Korean markets that I have been to. My boyfriend was also able to find this tea that he's had trouble finding in every Korean market that we've perused in SoCal too. Crazy. They even have a bakery with baked goods and various different types of cakes and sweets that you can get to celebrate any special occasion with. They have a wide variety of alcoholic beverages here as well and they have the OG green Jinro frog statue here when I've weirdly only seen the pink and blue one out in the wild. And to show how Korean they are they even have the single serving ice cups that you see in IG reels sometimes where you can use it to prepare the drinks you purchase for yourself. I don't mind stopping by again here in the future to replenish my instant noodle addiction!

Yelp
Just droppped in to shop, and was pleasantly surprised to see they have've added the viral Dubai chocolates to their inventory. Mental note to pick some up the next time I visit

Yelp
Ever since the local Korean grocery store located in the back closed for good, I had no choice to shop for Korean deli and snacks here. I'm surprised there are 30% off markdowns on selected hot food, including Kimbap during lunch and late afternoons. I love getting their steamed vegetable and kimchi buns more than anything else. I'm not sure about the sushi section so I'm going to pass for now. I also got to try Sul Pang for the first time. It's a steamed mochi bread made out of rice flour that has a sponge-like texture which comes with a variety of flavors (chocolate, sesame, kabocha, red bean, and vanilla). It's a bit plain like Korean mochi, but healthier than eating a regular cake. The vegetables still look a bit rotten since my first visit. You can call me unhealthy, but that's the only produce section I repel like a vampire smelling garlic lol. Overall, I only stick to the hot deli section, Korean baked goods, and snacks. Sometimes I'll get the Korean pears when it's cheaper than any Asian supermarkets. They even have a small section of popular skincare brands, kitchenware, and home goods. The store is clean and organized; easier to locate items. They need to provide fresh produce though. Maybe add a clearance to almost rotten vegetables. The cashiers are cool and they are willing to give chopsticks every time you purchase any deli items. Parking in the front is hectic so it's best to park behind (facing Fremont Food Hall) or two sections away from the door.

Yelp
Just discovered this place earlier this year and I really enjoy the variety of goods they carry. A bit of everything that you would need or may need. Besides groceries they also have dried goods, Hot food, baked goods, sushi, household items, giftable kitchen ware etc.. Prices are reasonable. Store is extremely organized and clean with wide isles, very spacious. They run frequent promos so there's always a good deal on something in the store. I like their hot foods in particular, always pick up something yummy when I'm there. Cashiers are friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking in plaza. So much closer than going to San Jose from tri-valley. Thanks!

Remy Y.

Yelp
The cooked food is to die for. Prices Are reasonable. I come almost every week. You can also order Korean Japchae and Bulgogi for parties. Wish I live in Fremont still. So I can buy those thinly sliced Korean meat and vege. But I come anyways after work for the cooked ready to eat food. Staff are polite as well. I Just love Mega Mart. Wish they will open a branch in Woodland, Davis Or Vacaville.

Yelp
Ice ball, ball was so fat that when I poured drink in it, the ice blocked the drink from going below the ice. Eventually took a while but it started dripping, I squeezed the cup a lil and the drink was able to seep through. Ice is really nice and round, really fun to see. The easiest iced drink to sip, usually ice gets in my lips and gets in the way of my drink, but this ice ball actually moves away from me when I sip. Its fun to squeeze the ball from through the cup. Also yeah lots of fun jokes to make with this lol. Tanghulu, first few bites were the cherries, smell like candy, smell really, taste really good, theres a seed in cause its cherry, but easy to spit out. But as i chew and chew, candy was noticably thick and hard to chew and sharp so be careful chewing. I got some candy stuck in my teeth a few times. I literally mistook a piece of candy for a cherry seed. Despite being thick, candy was also fragile, a few chunks of candy fell off before i could eat it. Also since opening, the tanghulu has been dripping (candy I think, could be strawberry juice). Also who thought to put tomato in a tanghulu, wasnt bad but they lucky they only put one in, if I had more tomato, I wouldve been disgusted. Rainbow roll was a mouthful literally. Every bite I had to unhinge my jaw to eat. Too much cucumber I think. Also I see they have rainbow rolls with other fishes but the rainbow roll I got was salmon only (which I knew), kinda contradicts the name lol. Fish was good. Green onions and the special creamy white sauce added an unfamiliar taste to an already familiar dish. Also weirdly there was one roll that didnt seem to go with any fish. There seemed to be one extra roll without a fish which makes me to believe they place the fish haphazardly. My only problems is, too big and too much cucumber but this was good sushi. Extra Its not often you get to see such a cool grocery store. The sashimi bowls are huge and pretty cheap. I thought most of the ready to eat foods were at a good price and I couldve bought any Ebt accepted 2 outside tables for eating what u bought 5/5

Yelp
Mega Mart is awesome! I like their selection of hot foods! Great options! I wish we had this in Dublin. Also great selection of snacks and overall Korean foods! FYI: There is only one entrance towards the right side facing the store.
google avatar

Yelp
As someone new to Mega Mart, I was blown away by the Cupertino location and had high expectations upon moving to the East Bay and having a Mega Mart nearby. Unfortunately, this location is much smaller than the one on Cupertino, but there are some good sales that go on and that part excites me. Located in a plaza, parking is abundant and free. I've been here twice so far and there have been no lines in the afternoon. The impressive parts of this market is the fact that they have fresh foods and sushi available for decent prices. It's hard not to get swayed by their bentos or even the baked goods. Unimpressive part would be their fruits section - you should double check all containers before checking out as we were able to find a good amount of blueberry and raspberry containers that contained mold. Overall, know what to come here for as it is easy to get sucked in by all the Korean snacks or soju selection or even their kiosk of K-beauty items.
google avatar

Yelp
We always make it a habit to stop by this Mega Mart every time we find ourselves in Fremont. They have a pretty wide selection of Korean/Asian produce, household goods, meats, seafood, packaged foods and snacks (my favorite). They also have a small selection of fresh breads and packaged meals which often have a sale as well. Prices here are so much better than 99 Ranch (or Ranch 99), and we always find some great deals, or something new we haven't tried before. And inevitably, we always find ourselves walking out of here with half a shopping cart full of stuff even though there's only two of us at home. Situated next to Starbucks inside a small strip mall, there are plenty free parking available right out front. There is also a table with seating if you purchased some prepared food inside and want to eat it while it's still fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
Mega Mart is one of the best larger Korean Grocery Market this side of Fremont! With incredible selection of cooked items to viral insta/tick-toc fresh items and deals and specials. Friendly and helpful staff! Clean and organized aisles and signage! We enjoy shopping here because whenever we're in town we go straight to looking around for hot a minute...kpop serenading in the background to brighten our shopping needs. Kamsamnida!

Yelp
I discovered this market on my way to FedEx, it was my first time here and I was so excited. I walked around for a bit to try and get a feel for the store, I definitely picked up a few things along the way. The store is pretty big, dare I say huge. The environment was neat and clean. Alas since I'm on crutches I can't walk a round or shop much but I'll be back! The people are kind, the young lady at the register was helpful and accommodating, I'm still new to the "purchase a bag" or "bring your own" thing The food was hot and fresh and tasted really good. I've never had fresh Tteok (rice cake) so the texture had me taken aback but I liked it.
google avatar

Juicke C.

Yelp
I was on an Asian market visit in the Fremont area. This was my second stop this morning. Like many Asian markets, many tables surrounds the front loaded with various goods. It can be overwhelming to see to many things and tempted before see other things in the store. It carry Asian goods but Korean goods seem to be the dominant shelf items. The pricing appears to be fairly competitive. So if I'm in the area for more Korean oriented grocery I definitely would consider this store. The cashiers are friendly and very informative eg letting you if items being purchased are on sale that include a bunch. That is worthy of patronage and loyalty.
google avatar

Ivan B.

Yelp
I've been here at least a few times already. This is supposed to be a Korean market, but they also sell other Asian food like sushi. The place seems mediocre because of what they usually sell as well as how it's designed. I don't really considered this as a supermarket considering the fact that it's smaller and how it's designed. I say that it's good if you want to stop by and get ready to-go meals and sushi, but nothing really stands out. If you really want to go to a better supermarket, go to 99 Ranch Store or Seafood City Supermarket in Milpitas or Union City. You'll probably find everything you mostly want.
google avatar

Marshall Y.

Yelp
Clean and spacious. Has all the Korean branded sauces, not just gochujang but also stuff like tuna fish sauce instead of just anchovy sauce. You won't find that nijiya or ranch 99. I know cuz I tried. Also has Pororo branded toys and books for the kids in Hangul. The entire wall of soju will make any grumpy ajeossi happy
google avatar

Yelp
This place has many items I wish I could get at a supermarket closer to home, like 99 Ranch in El Cerrito or New Sang Chong in San Leandro. Nonetheless, Mega Mart is clean and has well organized aisles and luckily, I frequent Fremont often to see friends and family, and for the occasional stop at the Newark Costco! Food haul highlights: - Vegan Bulgogi riceballs ($4.99 bag of 5 balls) - the price matches Trader Joe's Jumeokbap riceballs, but beats TJ's in quantity -- 5 balls instead of 3! - Japanese wagyu sirlon ($49.99/lb) - not sure if it's A5, but the marbling looks legit and the taste is great! Definitely a better deal than buying a frozen A5 steak from Costco for $99.99/lb. - Wagyu boneless short ribs ($29.99/lb) - this might be on the pricier side if it's American wagyu, but the marbling is on point for a meatier tasting wagyu versus the Japanese kind above. - Bluefin toro & salmon sashimi - so fresh and the salmon was 30% off for some reason! And the friendly cashier told me that if you purchase after 7pm, all sushi and sashimi are 50% off! Woot! - Kimbop, mmmbop! Tasty and fresh! - Beef bone marrow bones - can't wait to roast these and perhaps make a beef stock! - Not pictured: had to pick up some Chinese bitter melon because you know, health!

Yelp
Simply put. It looks like a sprouts supermarket but with Korean/asian goods. The place is clean and the service is pretty quick. It's not as grandiose as its name implies except for the sticker shock you get after you purchase your items. Definitely "mega" price when you get out!

Chelsea S.

Yelp
Oh yikes, just saw a big rat crawling over the bags of rice at the front. Don't believe me? Check the windows at the front. They got traps underneath the shelves. Yuck. Sealed food should be safe but everything else like baked goods and produce, I would stay away from.

Yelp
Good ol' Mega Mart. This market is our go-to whenever we want to buy some meats for KBBQ night at home. This market has a little bit of everything. All the grocery related things: fresh produce, seafoods, meats, frozen foods, snacks, and drinks. They also have household items like pots and pans, plates/dishes, Tupperware, etc. A fan of Korean skincare? They've got that too! They often have deals and specials so you can usually score great prices on meats (both frozen and fresh). We love picking up the marinated beef bulgogi, brisket, and pork belly. I'll sometimes treat myself to their bulk snacks like their banana chips and coffee peanuts. Sometimes their bakery will have Korean corn dogs and tanghulu, which I have yet to try. Anyways, it's a pretty large market and I've never had any issues with my experiences here. Sometimes they run out of the snacks I'm looking for but it's no big deal. I'll keep coming back to get my KBBQ fix here!

Yelp
Mega Mart is a Korean grocery store where Sprouts Market used to be. It's a pretty clean store. They have a bakery, sushi station, and pre-packaged hot food area. Certain items are cheaper, but some are a couple of dollars more here than at other asian markets.
google avatar

MaryJane Q.

Yelp
This is a nice asian grocery store. The deli food is much more than the other stores ... this store is close to home.
google avatar

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
This Mega Mart is in a decently big plaza with plenty of parking. It was not too busy when I stopped by on a weekday afternoon, so I was able to casually browse around. It was a bit smaller inside than I imagined, but not bad. I was intrigued by their 'fresh sushi' - decent amount of choices, but not sure how fresh it is, as it did not look as fresh as it could had been. I was looking for some other products that my friends told me they found here, but I guess they stopped selling several of those things. Overall, good addition to the area.
google avatar

Andy N.

Yelp
I get confused with the name "Mega Mart," thinking we're talking about the art installation in Vegas (O)mega. While it doesn't scream Asian market, it does provide a needed spot for the large Asian community in the area. I was pleasantly surprised by their hot deli section. Sure, it doesn't have as much as the likes of H-Mart, but there were some gems I found that were vegan friendly for me. I liked having an affordable mushroom japchae (that was even discounted early in the morning) and some banchan that were fully plant based. It's not much, but I'll take what I can get. The entire store felt sparse but was clean and tidy. Comparing it to larger supermarkets, you won't find as much of a selection, but it has all the basics. I'll probably return again with my Mom in the future whenever she wants to find a wider variety of Asian goods that's not available at our local Chinese market. Note: there is no public restroom or dining area inside, but you can enjoy the baked goods and hot foods outside.

Yelp
So excited to finally have discovered this Korean market! Just moved from the city and def miss my Hmart visits, but glad this one is nearby and has all the yummy korean and other asian products to fulfill my korean and other asian cooking needs! I felt like the produce section was a bit limited but great affordable prices, but def beware for the sale items. A lot of their sale items were expired or about to be expired. For example, saw Blueberries for 1.99 or $2+ but def looked like mold was starting to grow on them and the soft tofu on sale was expired by several weeks. Def check your items before you buy, but other than that their fresh baked items, hot n ready assorted kimbap were a delight and other frozen products and snacks had a great selection.
google avatar

RS G.

Yelp
Don't know why this got such low ratings... but I thought this place was great. Went to South Korea last summer and was missing some of the snacks and food and this place didn't miss. Lots of good authentic Korean snacks and goods. The ready made food looked tasty, but I will say that the produce didn't look as good as competing grocery stores. If I'm missing Korean products I'll come here.

Yelp
We were in the area for dinner and saw this Mega Mart that my friend had told me about and decided to check it out. It's located at the Fremont Plaza with ample parking out front. The store is spacious, bright, clean and well organized. As you enter the store there's a small fresh fruit, bakery and prepared meals section. On the right side of the store, there's a fresh and frozen seafood section. Fresh produce and frozen section in the back of the store. The store has a large selection of non-perishables, like packaged noodles, condiments, can goods, rice and grains. Overall, a good Korean supermarket that should carry the Korean items and ingredients that you need. It's a smaller scale compared to H Mart or 99 Ranch.

Yelp
The Hispanic guy was rude! He should be fired. If you are the manager for this store please tell your cleaning or restocking guy to behave. Red shirt short and a bit curly hair. He was very rude to be telling us not to make a mess when we just look at some stuff! Time we were there 8/12/25 around 7pm. Not going to the store anymore! Go somewhere else. We just left after he said that to us... Very bad staff

Yelp
Love the mega mark offered so much Korean cuisine ingredients, from fruit veggies, condiments, ingredients, make up, and ready to eat food as well. Is Hugh inside, and ambiance is clean no lines us quick to check out .

Yelp
Total hidden gem as this used to be another grocery store. I was happy to find today there were a number of gluten free options in their bakery. Lots of fresh produce, freshly made Korean and Japanese food (take-out) to carry out and go, and lots of other food options, items you'd normally find at H-Mart, or 99 Ranch. The space is large and clean. Service staff is normal and pretty standard. I'd come here again, the product is actually fairly cheap compared to other places!

Yelp
This supermarket is located in Fremont plaza along with Noah's Bagels and Starbucks. There's plenty of parking. This supermarket is a one stop shop. They sell meats, veggies, fruits, snacks, cooked food, and sushi. They also have a huge variety of beverages including booze. They sell whole and single sliced cakes, and lots of other yummy baked goods. This supermarket sell houseware items, shampoos, and conditioners as well. It's a clean and organized store. We stopped by the counter to order mochi doughnuts and korokes. These mochi doughnuts are not the typical mochi doughnuts that I normally buy. These doughnuts don't have any glaze or toppings on top. They were chewy and have red bean paste inside. They were kind of on the sweet side. The korokes had egg, beef, pork, cabbage, bell peppers, onion, and curry inside. They were pretty flavorful. We bought some baked goods like matcha castella, raspberry almond croissant, and hwangnam manju. The matcha castella was very, very dry. It was a big disappointment. They really need to change the recipe like add more water. The raspberry almond croissant and the hwangnam manju weren't too sweet, which we really liked. The hwangnam manju had chestnut and red beans in them.

Yelp
The rice in the kimbap was too wet. Otherwise it's an ok store. Selection of soy sauce was small. Produce and vegetable section was weirdly located flanking the hot food and and bakery. Not many jars of kimchi today.

Yelp
A great place to visit for Hotpot sliced meats & a huge array of Korean products. We bought a variety of boxed milk drinks: Binggrae Strawberry & Coffee. The Strawberry was a better choice than the coffee, but honestly this company is more known for their Banana drink. Pulmuone Potato & Mozzerella Corn Dog- love the selection of frozen snacks & Pulmuone is a trusted brand. Pretty authentic for a take home package & more reasonable than going to a shop. There is also a nice snack table with all sorts of prepared foods, just make sure you go before 3pm for a better selection. Bibigo Kimchee Cheese Rice Ball- a crunchy rice exterior with a spicy Kimchee kick. I was partial to this Rice Ball but my daughter enjoyed it, so it's worth a try. Great Korean Market in Fremont & happy I don't need to go to San Jose for these treats & sliced meats for hotpot.

Yelp
I love MegaMart, it's nicely located in a plaza with plenty of parking. The hot & ready prepped foods are great. The bakery seems to have different things too every time i've gone so far. This is the place I like to go to when picking up items for hotpot or shabu. They also do catering! Really convenient for parties!

Yelp
This is an OK Korean mart. I have to rate it down due to my disappointment in not even coming close the quality of H Mart or any of the Korean markets in Santa Clara. These established Korean markets have been around for decades and Mega Mart could only muster this meager version. It is appropriate that they took over a "sprouts" market. The deli section is a c minus at best. Not even coming close to any real korean market. I am most disappointed by this aspect over all it's other failures. The baked goods are d quality. The sushi items and kim bap try hard but seem to lack the flavor of any of it's competitors. Manna in the same shopping area had far superior banchan items but was now forced to close due to Mega Mart. The produce area is small and lacking. The dried fish area is where it seems to shine compared to others, but not the most important section around. Please get a better Korean market in Fremont or a H Mart!

Yelp
This store definitely improved since it first opened. I remembered it was pretty spacious and didn't have everything. It was too big for its size. However the store has come a long way since then. Maybe they listened to the feedback and worked on it because when I visited it recently, it was stocked well and has a lot of things to buy. It's not H-Mart but for something nearby, it's good enough and great for when I want to get some good kimchi and other Korean items.

Yelp
I am victim to a targeted ad on Facebook and Instagram. I also love me a Korean/Asian market and happened to be in the area so I drove on by to see what Mega Mart is about. Mega Mark took over what once was a sprouts. Plenty of parking, though tight. Upon walking in, you're greeted with a clean facility and a well stocked bakery section. When it comes to hot food; however, there wasn't much of a selection. What I love about Asian markets is the variety of meat and seafood. Mega Mart fell short on both. The meats looked questionable and appear to have been packaged a day or two ago. The pork belly wasn't the bright red color which indicates freshness; instead, it was more on the brown side. They didn't have much of a selection for seafood either with only a small tub of ice for the fish. Most of the items were in the frozen section. Adding onto my disappointment was this obnoxious sound coming from either their speakers or fridge. It sounded like a screech that never ended and it was the second reason as to why I cut my shopping short.

Yelp
I can't believe that we have unknowingly driven past this supermarket for decades only to discover them on yelp! Was hoping to shop at their sister location but it was too far and this was on the way home. Impressed by some of the sale items (we got some delicious honey chips for $1 when they sell for $4 elsewhere). But was amazed by the flash sale they have at the end of the day on some of the perishable items. Hot/deli foods were not on par with restaurant quality, but the food wasn't too bad and was def better than any other supermarket. Our fav was the short rib rice bowl which was tasty and tender. Dragon roll was not bad but the eel was a bit rubbery and harder to chew. Pork buns were very meaty and not too bad. Japchae was just ok, a bit on the salty side. They have super cute cream puff pastries that I was so tempted to buy had I not already had a ton of dessert at home. When I have more time, would love to come back and shop thru the other departments to see what food they have. So happy we have found a hidden gem.
