If you're thinking that you will get affordable quality dental care, do yourself a favor & look ELSEWHERE!!! I called early last week to get an appt for my 9 yr old daughter. I was wanting to get a second opinion on her cavity treatment. I was given yesterday's date 8/15/17 1pm. I took the day off from work, pulled my kid out of school and drove the 45 mins to make it to the appt. Paid parking, stood in line for a good 10 mins before reaching the receptionist window. I was told we did not have an appt. Yes we did I said, I actually called 3x Monday 8/14 left a couple of messages & my call back number to confirm but no one called back(should've given me clue how incompetent this office really is) but I was positive of the appt and informed her I spoke to a lady w/ broken English. She asked the receptionist beside her if she remembers talking to me & she said she did. Apparently the lady was looking us up in the wrong place, she finally found us. She tells us it's $100 upfront for Xrays, consultation & flouride. I told her we didnt need those, that we're there for a 2nd opinion we brought her Xrays & proposed treatment plan. Ok she said, I just need to pay in cash so that they can refund me in case the students were able to use the Xrays we brought. Fine. I already wasted gas, time, so let's add money to that too. I wrote her a check. However, Pediatric Dentistry was apparently closed yesterday. She curtly said, sorry she's new & after i explained to her how unprofessional that was, she offered to find me another appt. I have a high deductible insurance & was desperate to find a cheaper alternative treatment so I said fine. After yet another 10 mins, she still could not get us a date & blamed the 'system' it could all be user error for all I know. I told her to forget it I've wasted enough of my time. If anyone from MEHARRY's reading this PLS GET COMPETENT PEOPLE receptionist & office manager to run your front office. Anyone could tell from the unruly & disorganized papers that were everywhere that this office is totally inept! Our appt was 1pm, we were there 1250pm there was a long line, It was alreadyA 110pm when the lady finally found us on the 'system'. The WORST patient check in I've ever seen. Also for a school, you charge your patients exorbitantly, so much more than what a traditional Licensed dental office charge for a new patient. I hardly ever write reviews but I sincerely rue the day I heard of Meharry's & hope to spare anyone else into thinking that you might actually offer affordable quality service. Seriously, you'll just be wasting your time.
