MEHMET - Döner Kebab & Wine

*Turkish citizen review below* The food was generally tasty. I had the chicken döner, it was tender and clearly good quality. However, the bread portion was quite small, and that made the dish feel not filling. My boyfriend’s plate (köfte) came with half a pepper turşu, which we weren’t sure was meant as a joke or a creative garnish — either way, it felt odd. On my own plate, there was a sweet red paste that tasted quite un-Turkish. Maybe they were trying to make “acuka” paste? If so, sadly, it ain’t it. I would rather put turşu instead. On the bright side, the wine pairing was surprisingly good 😏 a bio wine that was fresh and light, and honestly, I wish it were more common to have döner with wine in Turkey! We finished with baklava, which was unfortunately very disappointing. It wasn’t made with pistachios (a sign of stinginess or “homemade-ness” in turkey, in this case idk which one they went for 🙃) , and the texture was flat and soaked in syrup with no sign of buttery layers- especially surprising here in “butterland” France. I told my European boyfriend to forget this one; this baklava just wasn’t it. If they improve and invite us, I would love to come back 😏😏😏

The food is a refreshing change to Parisian fare but the seating and tables are uncomfortable which makes trying out the dishes (mezza) difficult. I liked the freshness of the ingredients and the sandwiches were great . The music was noisy and just wrong . The low stars is for the service . The female waitress was very rude . She didn’t come check once after the order was taken . She just didn’t want to serve us . Terrible treatment.

Friendly staff, good food especially if you want to drink and eat some meze. Perfect doner just like in Germany !

One of the best restaurants in Paris. We are from London with a lot of kebab experience. The starter wings were incredible, we had chicken doner wrap and a lamb plate, pickles and double cooked chips. Go here. The service and vibe and drinks are exceptional. I will be coming back!! UNREAL

Was a bit underwhelming to be honest. The wine was great but the food lacked flavour. The sardines in sorrel leaves were probably the best in terms of taste. The humus with lamb tasted flat. The chicken wings looked amazing and were grilled perfectly but I wish they had a hit more salt and spice on them.

Brilliant casual restaurant with buzzy and vibrant atmosphere. We loved visiting this place and received excellent food and service. This is a unique restaurant and a must visit if you are in Monmarte.

Absolutely great! We need more spots like this. We tasted almost everything on the menu. Everything was aaamazing! Also both their beer and wine is top notch. If you are around, DO NOT MISS. Authentic, modern, but down to earth.
