Highlights

A one-stop shop for brand-name groceries and more, this Meijer is known for its extensive selection but could use a boost in checkout efficiency and overall tidiness.

Love the self checkout lanes, wish there were more attended lanes and also handicapped parking spaces as availability is always tight. The deli ladies are awesome and meat department, veggies, center aisles, and clothing department are great choices and fresh. I love the shoe department!!

Google
Store is always clean and mostly well-stocked. Margaret at the self-checkout is the best! We use the shop-and-scan every weekend and she is quick to help us if we need it, always friendly, and she explains why issues are happening (like if a coupon isn't ringing up), which is helpful!

Google
Hello curious minds want to know, the store was nice and clean, stocked well with everything I needed, except Cashiers, only two lines were opened, they both had 5 to 6 people waiting to check out. Other than that, good place to shop. Anywhere you shop, there are bound to be these types of issues, just pack your patience, we'll all get through this, one customer at a time. Happy Shopping Folks!!!!

Completely unprofessional and rude. My husband, my 5 year old, my 3 year old, 19 month old, 8 month old and myself were verbally harassed by two women tonight that are currently employed at the Meijer in Allen park MI off outer dr and Southfield on the hill. When we needed assistance at self check out she was very mean and disrespectful while showing my husband how to use gift cards there. She also wouldn’t let us use our WIC card to get one can of formula for our youngest. She then went on to yelling about how our child (who is still in a car seat) didn’t have a winter coat on. He had layers of clothes on a sweat shirt and a jacket. We also had a winter coat for him in the car and one of us always pulls the car up to the door for the other parent and the kids so they don’t have to walk all the way to a parking spot. This time it was me that pulled the car up. As my husband got our children in the car the same two women followed him out to smoke a cigarette and was yelling at us and harassing us. One of the women was screaming that we were unfit parents and didn’t know how to take care of children. I have 4 kids im well aware how to take care of my children. I went on to tell her that it’s actually unsafe for a child to wear a winter coat in their car seat. She continued to yell outside the store that we are unfit and her friend/coworker kept yelling “its a free country” when I asked them to stop saying those things in front of our children. The amount of pettiness, disrespect, unprofessionalism, and trashy this entire incident was is beyond ridiculous. Especially for grown women to act this way towards a family with young children while clocked in at their place of employment. I will be going back tomorrow to speak to a supervisor and honestly hope they lose their jobs after treating us that way and acting that way in front of our children. Here is the only picture I could get of the 2 women.

Steve P is apparently trying to get fired. Just helping him out a bit. He started our interaction off by pointing out how many self check outs were available while we were standing in line. Rather than greeting us, he let us know that he was trying to get fired while showing off his badge. At the end, I said have a good one. His reply was "I won't". I usually don't take time to write a review this long but I was pretty annoyed...

Google
Great store. Has everything. Clean and organized. Must stop at the bakery as everything made there is excellent!

I went to buy milk today. There was a lady in the parking loading gallons of milk into her truck. It was literally all the whole milk in the store. She was buying ot for a restaurant, Which it highly illigal. Did anyone in the store say anything? No, no they didn't. So now I have to go somewhere else for milk. It won't let me post the video of the lady loading all the whole milk into her truck. How did everyone get to be so unintelligent?

I've been using this pharmacy for about five years. It hasn't always been great but in the last year I've seen a tremendous downturn in customer service. A few months ago, I was berated and given the third degree by a pharmacist who didn't want to give me my prescription because they claimed I needed an additional insurance card than the one I provided. When I said I would just pay for it because I needed it, she persisted to argue with me about my medication for over five minutes in the drive thru, holding up the line. Fine. Yesterday they asked me to call because they had a question about my prescription. I called today, someone answered, was put on hold after explaining I received a text from them. I continued to wait for over 10 minutes, when my phone said 14:37, I hung up. I called back, heard the automation. Pressed zero to wait for a pharmacist, waited for a minute, and then was hung up on instead of being helped. When I called back and someone finally spoke to me they told me they were out of the medication I need. Which, could've been done instead of the silly games they played in the previous calls. Taking my business elsewhere, where maybe I leave situations feeling respected at the minimum.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Fresh produce and good MPerks plus good sale items. Self check is great and fast moving. Thank you to Dayna and Margaret for always being so helpful. Greeters, Yolanda and Melissa at door very welcoming. Amya in customer service always upbeat and helpful. Donald in produce greets customers while stocking the freshest produce at reasonable prices. This is my go to place for almost everything I need.

Yelp
Was at Meijer Allen Park, Mich. on New Years Eve shopping when I got hit from behind by a employee pushing a instacart. No apology or didn't even ask if I was alright. I had to go after him to get his name to make a injury report. This is 2 weeks later with 3 phone calls promising to get back with me about the report, and going to the Dr., which I was gave antibiotics. I can't even wear something over it. I am very upset about the customer service since I shop there all the time and they seem very unconcerned. Maybe a apology and gift card???? Everyone is saying I should call Sam!

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
I like everything about Meijer always clean and well stocked the team members are always very friendly and helpful

Nicole E.

Yelp
I stopped here next and next door, looking for HDMI cables for my team members to connect their monitors. The electronics is located towards the back on the right side of the building. There are HDMI cables mid range and the cheapest one was $15. I bought 4 of the Belkin brand

Yelp
This Meijer is always in disarray. I walked in through the home section and there were no carts available. I lugged my items to the fresh section to find a cart but I was shocked to find no carts yet again. While walking through the aisles there were dog toys on the floor in the magazine/books section. Baskets filled with abandoned items (where you go to pick them up located at random locations in the store). I walked by the electronics section and there were about 15-20 carts filled with items just sitting there. I am not sure if the team was putting stuff away because I did not see anyone around the carts. Either way it is not a good look. Fresh side: I've noticed they are getting better at keeping items stocked. I have called corporate 3 times in the past to complain that shelves and produce are empty/bare. Meijer is more expensive so if you can stomach going to the bigger box stores I would say do it and not waste your money here.

Emil C.

Yelp
After eating lunch at the Chick-fil-A across the parking lot, I stopped in here to pick up some drinks. Since I only had a couple of items, I opted for self checkout. We don't have Meijers back in CA, but I found this one to be clean, well stocked, and well organized. Also the prices were good.

J C.

Yelp
No half gallons of milk on a Saturday morning for MONTHS in a row. Calling headquarters does nothing. Other items consistently out of stock also. And then they make you bag your own groceries when you're in the lane with a cashier. Many times there are no carts, yet have employees standing at the entrances greeting people. When you tell them there are no carts, they just smile and stand there. This store has single-handedly converted more Meijer shoppers to Kroger than Kroger has. What a terrible experience. Meijer management needs to overhaul this place. Stay away.

Sheldon M.

Yelp
I don't know which Meijer near Detroit is worse -- this one or the one on 8-mile/Woodward. EVERY SINGLE TIME I place a curbside order there's an issue! Be it missing goods, mixing orders, random non-approved substitutions, long waits or them flat out cancelling my order it's ALWAYS something. This is a hell of a different experience from Texas' HEB and makes me dread ordering from y'all . Do better!

Eric E.

Yelp
This store deserves to be closed. They never have anything in stock and refuse to hire more staff. No longer can you use supply chain issues as an excuse for being a complete dumpster fire. I've never once seen a manager doing anything while customers are forced to wait 20 minutes and bag their own groceries. Apparently there's a new store director according to employees and I can tell you first hand this person needs to be fired immediately, they are clearly not qualified to sweep the floors. Will anything change? Of course not, I can only hope I see the director one day while I'm there so I can let them know how their performance is.

Joey B.

Yelp
Not sure how often the fishing and lure section gets restocked but i've been in and out of there for a month and the whole aisle seems to remain the same. Same lures out of stock. Same lure trays not in stock. Meijer is a great place to buy tackle most the time but this location not so much.

Melissa M.

Yelp
Been on hold with them for 15 minutes. Not sure what the issue is with this store. They claim they're out of multiple items that I NEED for what I'm making tonight, and the app says there are "no substitutions available". At all?? If I have to go back to the store to get items they "are out of" what's the point?

Perhaps U.

Yelp
Totally recommended this grocery store, the deli are fresh and the food choices just perfect for the women who need to feed their kids, excellent place to shop.

Dann A.

Yelp
I just spent 28 minutes waiting in line at 9 pm on a Monday. Only two or three cashiers. Shelves were almost bare and out of four items on my list of 12 things. Reshop carts EVERYWHERE. There were no workers on the floor (which I guess is why there were no cashiers, either. None to call to work a register.) Lines everywhere up to 20 people long. At 9 pm. On a non-holiday Monday. And this is only the worst I've seen the lines. There are ALWAYS lines. Not so at the nearby Kroger or Target. Most of the few employees, including my cashier, were not wearing masks during the pandemic with the delta variant on the rise. The bottle return has not been open the past six or seven times I've tried. Woman in front of me asked whether they were hiring, and cashier said they desperately need workers, but they are still paying only minimum wage. I support Michigan companies, but I'll never go back to this Meijer. Ever. I'll go to the plenty of other options in the same area. Pro tip: If you are losing customers, you probably should up your wages to land more workers and keep your customers from leaving angry. Just hoping my frozen foods aren't melted by the time I get home.

Karim J.

Yelp
I'm not too upset by their selection of items, but this location is very inconvenient seeing how it's across from Chick-fil-A which is always packed (not Meijer's fault but still annoying). But what really grinds my gears is there are 20 aisles available that are not self-checkout, and only 4-5 of them ever have cashiers behind them at any time I don't understand how on a busy Saturday morning you can't have at least 10 aisles being manned. It literally takes 30-40 minutes to pay for your groceries. Get it together Meijer and hire more cashiers.

Kamal A.

Yelp
The worker Melissa So we came with happiness and going to shop for the holiday and we took a lot of stuff and everything was amazing until we were about to leave it's not my first but it's the last time me bing here on (Meijer - Allen park )cuz Melissa was so disrespectful and rude cuz she had to check on all my stuff one by one but the she stayed like 10 minutes just to check on everything I have and the other people behind us were just looking at us and leaving as if we were thieves and I didn't not like how she treated us this way paying a lot of stuff does not mean I'm a thief I paid over 600$ and that what I deserve

S H.

Yelp
7:30pm on a Wednesday evening and there's only one register open. The line is into the women's clothing department, ridiculous to say the least. Apparently miejer thinks everyone should ring their own groceries up, so they don't have to pay for a cashier.

Kevin Y.

Yelp
No fitting rooms. Seems like a pretty shady business practice. We should be able to at least know if something fits before we buy.

Martha R.

Yelp
This place is just OK. Nothing special, nothing terrible. I do like getting the frozen organic fruits here. When I try to get any frozen veggies that are organic, however, I'm left staring at the options with my mouth agape. There's practically nothing, but it does still beat the selection at Kroger in Dearborn, which is likely the worst grocery store I have ever been to, so that's not saying much.

Holly T.

Yelp
Ever since you put the wheels that self lock on your carts, I have been injured once all ready. My chest still hurts from the last time the wheels locked up. This time I was in your store trying to leave with a full cart of paid groceries, while the cab was on his way. You need to remove them before some one sues for personal injuries. I will no longer be shopping at any more of your meijer stores until you do. Not only that but, I am sick of your store employees falsely accusing their customers of theft also, and I am a long time loyal customer who is the one who has been accused more then once. My better half and I are in the talks of going some where else because of this. We don't appreciate your store employees making such claims. Neither myself or my better half are the ones to steal. You will no longer be getting my business! More or less you can get lost.

Amanda K.

Yelp
Wow. This pharmacy has the rudest employee named Reema. Maybe she should learn a little patience with older customers. This is a great reason why I won't use the Meijer pharmacy anymore. It's very difficult to find anyone concerned with customer service anymore, and I'm afraid her attitude is just another example of Update: UScan seems more and more difficult eqch time I go. Today, I needed permission to buy a Tofurkey. It seems counterintuitive to have machines that try to prevent theft but instead gum up the works. My item scanned and then I was accused of bagging an item I didn't scan, triggering the "authorization." Come on now. It's supposed to be an antisocial way of checking out, but every time I end up needing "help." I really don't need help, but the machine needs it for some reason.

Tisha J.

Yelp
I shop at Meijer often, and always have the best shopping experience; sometimes the lines are long due to the excellent deals they have every week, but its worth it. You can't beat the price or the selection variety! If you download the meijer app you can see the upcoming deals, receipts, clip coupons, and etc. One of my favorite stores to shop; highly recommend the Allen Park location.

Patrick V.

Yelp
Messy, gross, disorganized, sticky floors, and no one to help you when needed or asked. Probably one of my least places to go but conveniently in a spot where there is a bunch of people living around the area. The parking lot was a mess with cars everywhere and seemed like no one has collected in in days. The staff were not welcoming and did not provide us with a good experience. Probably will never go to this meijer unless I have too

Jessica H.

Yelp
DO NOT SHOP HERE. THEY SELL MOLDED FOOD AND THE LINES ARE TERRIBLE. I used to be a loyal customer at this location until I found multiple spoiled foods within one shopping trip (please see attached photos). Not only is the food awful, the service is less than pleasant and the lines are always super long.

Lu F.

Yelp
Received a birthday cake recently. It was a small round cake that looked like it was covered in those large swirly frosting decorations. Meijer's always has moist cakes. Honestly, this cake was more frosting than cake. Very disappointing. Give me a yummy ugly cake any day. Nothing worse than a pretty cake that tastes nothing like pretty!!!

Jo B.

Yelp
This is what happens when you only have two lanes open. They are seemingly always understaffed!

John M.

Yelp
I went shopping Thursday Morning 6:30 AM ,I found everything on my list and one extra item. I purchased a 4 Pk. of Raspberry filled Paczki. In all my years of buying these filled specialty donuts, from different retailers, these were the Bestest , yeah , better than best, more gooder than good . Seriously tho ,The filling was plentiful and not overly sweet , the powdered sugar was all over everything . The thing that put these over the top ,was the cake part , deep rich Yellow color and a taste and texture I haven't savored in the last 20 plus years, and I had to travel to Hamtramck to buy. I missed Michele and Fatima this morning, my Two most favorite cashiers.

Marisa W.

Yelp
I try not to go in this location, but unfortunately, I needed something and was in the area the other day. BIG MISTAKE!!! Stopped at the deli...was the next person to be waited on. Well, it was 15 minutes before I could place my order. I was ready to walk out, but then my number was called. Although the person behind the counter showed me the slice of lunch meat, what I got in the package was totally different. I got 3 items, and it took another 12 minutes for that. So ridiculous at how slow they are. While I was waiting, I saw they only had 2 people slicing lunch meats....another employee was cutting stuff up. Why she couldn't stop for a few minutes to help get the line down is beyond me. There were at least 5 people behind me waiting. Then, Mark walked away for a few minutes and I heard his co-worker asking where he went...,he disappeared for over 5 minutes, then came back but didn't wait on anyone, but went around the back of the deli and walked around a bit. I stood there watching, because I had nothing better to do but wait. Stood in line at the uscan for another 15 minutes. This place always has extremely long lines....can't get people to work....the staff there are for shit too! Not friendly at all. The greeter stands there like a statue, no matter who it is. I never received a hello from anyone at this dump. I can't go back there....ever. I will drive the extra mileage to the Lincoln park store. Even though it will take more time to drive there, at least I won't be at the deli for half an hour or in line at the register for 15 minutes. The Allen Park store is enough to make you want to drink....and I don't drink.

Brenda G.

Yelp
This was only my second trip to the store during the pandemic. Was able to find everything I was looking for but was upset about the amount of customers shopping without masks. One family of 5 shopping 3 children running around all over, all 5 without masks, and a women in the checkout line behind me with her daughter no masks and NOT following the marked social distancing lines. Sign is clearly posted at the door. MASKS MUST BE WORN Reported this to the attendants and they said they would take care of it but said they have no control if someone removes there mask while shopping, and was told that some just simply put their shirts over their face. A shirt is NOT a mask, and I feel there should be staff walking around to make sure masks are worn. Meijer you CAN do better than this. Other stores do.

John S.

Yelp
I live across the street. I will never shop at this store again. Most of the problems stem from the rude, self centered customers that shop there but there are other problems that far exceed the customers. The employees all clearly hate their jobs and many act unprofessional on the job to point of ridiculousness. They swear, stand around, and talk to each other without concern for the customer. The stockers are always in the way. I understand that they have to stock but it seems like there is never room to shop with all the palettes everywhere. The main reason I write this review is due to the log wait times at check out. This is unacceptable. Everything else could be ignored but when there are two registers open in the entire store expect long wait times. I will never shop there again. It probably won't matter as more and more brain dead idiots willing to shop there.

Allison F.

Yelp
I hate Meijer. I hate Meijer because when I have to go there, it means I need to grocery shop. I hate grocery shopping. That said, Meijer typically has everything I need to get my shopping done in one place. I love all the different check-out options, like the U-Scan, the unlimited item U-Scan, the express lanes and the regular lanes. Occasionally, they'll be out of the extra lean beef, or their deli counter wait will inch into the 30-minute mark... (I swear, the people behind the counter move slower than any other service people I have ever encountered.) I've also gotten attitude on more than one occasion from the pharmacy techs while dropping off or picking up prescriptions, which really makes me dislike having to go into the store to get my scrips. For this reason, I'm knocking them from 4 stars to 3. If Meijer wanted a solid 5-star rating from me, they'd have to improve employee morale. It seems like they employ some of the most pathetic people with hardly any will to live, let alone do their jobs. A smile or friendly conversation are not had often at Meijer, which makes me think it sucks to work there. This Meijer is clean, usually well-stocked and checking out is typically quick.

Star D.

Yelp
since covid the lines are longer, they are short staffed but the food is always stocked

Marie B.

Yelp
Not impressed at all with this Meijer store. My husband and I were in a hurry so he went to self check out and I went to make a payment on my credit card. Three ladies at service desk and when I got there one decided to wait on the first customer. I was still in line and the ladies were talking with each other. Another lady came from somewhere and waited on me. I meet up with my husband to see that he was overcharged for the pizza he just bought by $3.60. I had to go back into the store and get in line again at the service desk. This time the lady behind the desk waited on me right away and credited my account the $3.60 plus Michigan $5 reward Thing is I was in a hurry but hate to be overcharged for something that was on sale

Jovanie G.

Yelp
I wish I could give zero stars. This company is so corrupt, I received a confirmation on a gaming system and after calling them and asking if I can pick it up early, they cancelled my order and gave it to someone else. This is ridiculous. I literally was trying to get it for 3 hours and when I finally get it they give it to someone else. I will never shop or recommend this store to anyone. They couldn't even give me a reason why they canceled my order after I received a confirmation code. If I received a confirmation I would assume they have enough inventory but no they want to let you think you're getting what you want to turn around and pop your bubble. What a way a to start this 2021 thanksgiving. Thanks for nothing MEIJER

Eldwin L.

Yelp
Meijer is the new Kmart sadly can't wait to see how long it takes More and more this place is disgusting. Understaffed. Unsupervised. Mismanaged. And uncared-for. I truly wish I could say something good. This place first opened after they knocked down the the Veterans Hospital. Unfortunately it has been in steady decline sense. It is dirty the bottle return area is always broken and now almost completely out of order with fruit flies and stale pop smell but the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting I am glad I don't have to take my child to change a diaper there are graffiti tags all over the door is bent and broken like it was kicked in and no lock to even close the door. The registers are always understaffed at peak hours. I would rather shop at Walmart unfortunately. Which is truly sad because I would love to support a local business. Shame on you Meijer for getting this far away from your roots and forgetting your customer base

Dil F.

Yelp
Big. Cheap. and Liquor! Nobody ever told me this place was like a Target! I've always thought it was just a grocery store. Anyway, had my first experience with this Michigan staple very recently, and was surprised. Got some needed kitchenware, a pumpkin pie, and some beer. sweetness!!! My hesitations are the following. 1) i bought (god knows why) a KFC-like bucket of chicken wings. Driest chicken i've ever put in m mouth. so bad! 2) while it's AWESOME that they sell liquor here, their MO is to shelve one or two brand-name labels (like Tanqueray, Jim Beam, Absolut), and then fill the rest of the shelf space with some really shady bottom-dollar never-heard-of-em-brands... why sell garbage just cuz it's cheap? Otherwise, I'll definitely go back... I'm even starting to wonder if it could replace my visits to Target. I noticed that a Brita pitcher at Meijer's was 4 bucks cheaper than Target.

Smokey J.

Yelp
Everything was good until I ran into a cart person. The one young man was very nice I think someone called him Andrew? Not sure though but the young lady Tori was rude and seem like she didn't wanna be there. Very lazy too every time I come back it's the same thing but inside the store was good I was in and out.

MJ G.

Yelp
Hands down the best bakery in the area. The bakery at this location did an exceptional job preparing my mother's birthday cake. I ordered the cake completely online and chose my options and pickup date. I was nervous doing this, but it was something I wanted to test out. I left the instructions for the baker including the cake color, trim, lettering and cake size. The baker called to notify me that the original color selection may not be as flattering as I imagined, so she offered another color palette. I appreciated her so much that I gave her full autonomy to make the cake and told her to surprise me. The cake was beautiful and the TASTE was AMAZING. Not many bakers can do a buttercream frosting anymore, but they NAILED IT.

Katherine S.

Yelp
Need more check outs opened. Meat selection poor after 5:00 pm here. Parking lot full of trash.

Donald D.

Yelp
One of the best grocery stores in the Detroit area. I am home visiting for the holiday weekend and we went here to get all the food we need for our BBQ. The store was well stocked and busy but there were not enough cashiers open. The lines were long and slow. Overall, a really good place to shop.

Chloe l.

Yelp
I've been waiting in the parking spot for curbside pickup for an hour and a half now, still currently waiting. Cars have come and gone next to me, picking up their orders. I've called a couple times to clarify that my order has been started, because after waiting so long I would have just went into the store to shop. I could have been done by now. Two other cars near us have started to wait and just left without receiving their orders. I don't know the reason, but my guess would be the long wait. I will never be ordering Meijer pickup again, and I suggest you save your time by just going in to shop, or ordering online elsewhere. We are way past our pickup time slot now and the lack of communication is pathetic and unacceptable.

Michael B.

Yelp
This used to be a lovely meijers. But over the last 18 months management cut staff and now we have long lines to checkout. Doesn't matter what day or time. There will be at max 4 non self check out lanes open. General wait time for check out is usually over 8 minutes. The store has declined in terms of restocking as well. It's a mess when they do it. The sales are nice...the staff themselves are nice. But management needs to quit going after payroll bonuses and focus on delivering solid service!

Brie S.

Yelp
Associates are not helpful. Unwilling to help at customer service. Horrible. I'm upset that she failed to mention the price of an item was double what it should've been. Refused to fix error. Unacceptable.

Alexander R.

Yelp
I don't understand how a super store can only have 2 out of 30 checkout lanes open. I won't be going to meijer anymore because this happens more often here than other stores. 30mins to checkout is a sign of poor managment.

C W.

Yelp
This Meijer is racist I'm black paid for all my groceries and Instacart here. I was stopped on my way out and asked to see my receipts . I asked do y'all do this to everyone or just me . Two females at the door one black one white said just me. I saw a white guy when the door alarms went off and no one even bothered to stop him. Will not patronize this location again. I'm waiting to speak to the manager.

Mariann B.

Yelp
Stock is low, only a few registers open, be prepared to wait a minimum of 30 minutes in line just to pay for your groceries. Ice cream melted; and lines wrap around the whole store

Joseph P.

Yelp
PS: and to add on to the previous review that I gave just found out the mangoes we bought were rotten too

Delia R.

Yelp
No cashiers! 1/2 self serves are broken! Lines so backed up can't walk through front of store! No shopping carts! They put the worst employee by himself who can barely walk to collect carts! Come on people give people they're jobs back! This store was one of the best when it opened, now it's a mess for being in Allen Park.

Stone Z.

Yelp
I shop here all the time. Love my mperks and catered coupons I get in the mail. They've got plenty of vegan options and the store seems clean to me. My only note is that the last chance sale items may already be moldy, I wasted $3 on a beet salad that ended up having mold in it :/

Jeanette M.

Yelp
Wow. Never have I been in a Meijer store that was so entirely filthy, and just plain GHETTO. During the week when businesses are running, all is well, but try a Friday night, when you have to run out for toilet paper and it's literally like a post-apocalyptic war zone. My niece, her fiance and my goddaughter are in town tonight and we decided to make a Meijer run before we go to the zoo tomorrow. Granted, it was about midnight. A few essentials and we're out...but as we passed through the doors and into the produce section, we were stunned into silence. The produce stalls were all half empty, there were gigantic black skids in every aisle as though someone had drizzled something sticky on the floor and then had shopping cart races through it. Every aisle was full of stock that needed to be unpacked and shelved and I think I saw maybe one stock person in the whole store. As we approached the checkout lanes, we noticed some paper towel on the floor covering something. As we got closer, we saw that it was a broken jar of jam all over the floor. Glass was everywhere and so was the jam. Someone casually covered it with a paper towel and left it. The entire time we were up front waiting to check out, which was about ten to fifteen minutes, no one paged for a clean-up, no one who worked there looked at it or even seemed to think twice about it being there. We had to warn my goddaughter, who is three, to stay away from it, and a lady accidentally walked through part of it as she was looking for a checkout lane. Not a single employee in the place appeared to give a shit about service, cleanliness, um, doing their job... The parking lot was full of liter...filthy. The store was trashed, a veritable wasteland...filthy. The clientele behaving, for the most part like that was the norm. I live less than a mile from the Taylor WalMart. I generally choose Meijer over WalMart for obvious reasons, but the sad fact is, on ANY GIVEN DAY that WalMart is a thousand steps up from what I saw at the Allen Park Meijer tonight. MPerks or no, I am not going back there. I felt like I needed a bath with a wire brush when I left. Disgusting.
