Google
Always a great place not just to shop but to grab a bite and a break away. Always welcomed and never bothered at all. I recently was able to grab a small rotisserie whole chicken before they weregone. It was the best buy for a mid day fill up

Google
Excellent store, but not perfect. If it had a deli I would give it five stars. The beer selection is fantastic. The store is always clean and orderly and the restrooms are clean. I've always found the employees here to be pleasant.

Google
Strange layout for a Meijer! All others in Michigan are more shopper friendly! They have what your looking for but good luck locating items.

Google
Spacious. Colorful. Inspiring! I rushed in for a quick shopping trip. I was having difficulty locating the item that I was in search of. I asked a worker who was stocking shelves in a nearby aisle where I could find the product. He immediately stopped what he was doing and asked me to follow him. He led me to a few areas of the store. I was in awe of his dedication to delivering optimal customer service. He was genuinely friendly and professional. I would hire him in a heartbeat. Thank you, Mr. Calvin!

Google
Store is consistently clean and organized despite its busy atmosphere nearly all the time! Staff is very nice and always asked if you need help finding anything when they pass by. Prices can be a bit higher but I find that some staples are quite similar in price to a suburban Meijer.

Google
How fun! I’ve been wanting to check out this chic fancy Meijer in downtown Detroit. Was very happy to see it so packed on a holiday weekend. And it had everything I needed, and things I didn’t even know I wanted. Good vibes here!

Google
A Meijer That Almost Made Me Cheat on Mariano's! Alright, if there's a Kroger or Mariano's around, you've got some competition! Meijer Rivertown Market is seriously chic and surprisingly charming. It's got all the good stuff from Meijer but none of that overwhelming, "super store Walmart" vibe. Honestly, I'm a loyal Mariano's fan, but this place? It almost made me question... Nah! But it's definitely worth a visit 😉

Google
Nice market but one star for the bottle return. It's outside and isolated from the rest of the store. Half the return station don't work. The area is littered with garbage and smells. It looked like someone had thrown rancid milk everywhere. Gross! Shop here but avoid bottle reurn I am telling yoi.

Yelp
Maybe I experienced the Rivertown market on a bad day, because unfortunately, my visit was not that pleasant. I am familiar with these type of Meijer stores because I do frequent the woodward Market on Woodward in Royal Oak often. I love the local options that they have in store and I do enjoy finding new things to try. I recently stopped in and grabbed my favorite brand of granola before heading to the self check out. I only had one item to ring up, and the self checkout machine was very slow. My boyfriend and I stood at the self check out machine for over 10 minutes waiting for the machine to give us back our change. from there I asked an employee to help us out. We waited an additional 10 to 15 minutes for our three dollars and change. all this for a seven dollar bag of granola. There was no urgency amongst employees. The place wasn't even busy.

Yelp
Rivertown Meijers has its pros and cons really. Pros: coworking space with free WiFi. Built in coffee shop and wood oven pizza. Really great pizza by the way. Usually pretty clean and can get help if needed by workers roaming around. A lot of local businesses have product here. Cons: pricier than your average grocery store. Pizza spot is never open when it's supposed to be. Coworking space closes at 7PM.

Yelp
We walked in here thinking we were visiting some bougie local grocery store, and then found out it's actually a fancy Meijer. Doh! Meijer be like, "Got you, beeyotch!" Oh well. It's still a nice store and there are lots of nice things to buy here. Mostly, we visited to find some local foods to take back home with us, because we were visiting from out of town. Rivertown Market has a lot of Detroit-made and Michigan-made foods. There's even a whole section of such foods near the checkout! They make it easy to buy local. I picked up some chips, baked goods, and a few other snacks. This store also has a decent selection of wine. I picked up a bottle of petit Syrah to take back to my hotel. This store is very well designed and very clean. It's nice to just walk down the grocery store aisles and peruse, which is what I did. The lighting was also pleasant, which isn't something I notice at a grocery store until they do it right, like this place does.

Yelp
Rivertown Market is fantastic. A great grocery store has been long-needed in this neighborhood. I lived in this area years ago, and it definitely fit the description of a "food desert." The market is stocked with fresh produce, meats, dairy, and pantry staples. There are plenty of prepared foods for those like me who don't cook. The wine selection is awesome. They carry many local food brands and have in-store, events samples and giveaways. I remember seeing a few years ago that they cater to the needs of seniors with designated shopping days. The bakery goods are plentiful as well. It's a Meijer market, but smaller than most of their large grocery stores. However, it's great just as well. Seems that it took gentrification to make this market happen, but I'm happy for the residents who have lived here for years.

Yelp
Service=excellent...overall cleanliness=poor. Brooms are made for sweeping. Start with the entrance, at least. There's time to clean, Dingy is not a welcoming look. Hustle harder and show some pride to go with the premium prices.

Yelp
Nice Mini-Meijer (read: grocery only) that gives a fancy grocery shopping experience without the wallet bludgeoning prices of Whole Foods. We've now normalized self-checkout to the point where that's all they have here. I don't mind it much; I almost always self-checkout anyway but funny how there was never any kind of price drop related to the money companies save with this. I always forget how right downtown this market is. It's practically in the shadow of the Ren Cen. I always seem to go too far east and have to double back down Jefferson. Parking is definitely an issue here. I generally won't even try to go to Rivertown Market before 8 pm as the parking lot is so mobbed up. Good luck finding an empty spot! There's a pretty sorry looking park directly adjacent to the lot I wish they would annex. I almost can't even believe I'm arguing for eliminating a park for a parking lot but it's small and I suspect not too heavily used. The Riverwalk and the Dequindre Cut are nearby and a thousand times nicer. There's also a raggedy looking little field on the other side of RM that would be great for badly needed additional parking. There's all the essentials here and a few interesting things I haven't noticed at a typical Meijer - way more flavors of Kombucha than I'm used to seeing. I bought a three pound bag of crawfish here last month. I don't recall ever seeing mudbugs for sale at a Meijer before and I've never boiled them on my own before... and I still haven't. I got em sitting in the deep freeze trying to convince myself I won't screw it up. Watching a couple YouTube videos should help me manage it. It usually does. I still wish we had a gargantuan regular Meijer somewhere closer to downtown than the outskirts of the 138 square mile city of Detroit but the mini-Meijer will do if I hit it shortly before their last call.

Yelp
Customer service is AWFUL!! The workers stand around talking to each other or on their phones. No one is in their designated area. If you need something that is not on the shelf you have to go to another store. And if you request the manager he comes to talk to you with bad breath and a few rotten teeth in his mouth, disgusting. Meijer should offer dental care. And he doesn't try to assist you, he just tells you that you're wrong. I give this stores existence another 12 months and then it will be an empty building

Yelp
I love being so close to this market. It's got a lot of parking, fully staffed, and well stocked. I came in on a Sunday and they even had local vendors giving out samples. It's the better grocery store downtown.

Yelp
Everything you need is here for those of us who live downtown. They even have the huge liquor wall that is a focal point of the Royal Oak location. They have a lot of items are locally made. This place is the perfect spot to run and if you are a downtown dweller. Just keep in mind that you have to bag your own things so don't go in here and go crazy when you're shopping, unless you like to bag a whole lot of stuff. Then do your thing.

Yelp
The absolute best market in the area. The staff is great. They make sure you get everything you need. I surely appreciate a concern a had last time was addressed. I questioned why they didn't have an item, today I noticed it was the shelf!!! Paying attention to a customers needs.... A huge BONUS for me.

Yelp
Customer service is awesome. One of the leads there is the real deal. Raquel helped me out a lot when I was shopping there. now I can find everything in the store that I need. every time I come in the store now I have to stop over there and say hi to Raquel. keep up the good work, Raquel, gets my four stars the lead of the year.

Yelp
Really nice downtown grocer, and really, really help to remove the "food desert" people think of when they think inner city. They have a coffee shop inside which is well staffed, and they have tables where guys play chess for $1. I can go in and write my books there in a very relaxed environment. The prices for the grocery are competitive. They even have dragonfruit!

Yelp
It's a Meier store but they don't take Meijer coupons. Al's all self checkout. $5 sushi on Wednesday, you can watch them make it. The also have an Avalon coffee. And they make their own pizzas.

Yelp
This message is for Meon! She is amazing at her position and such a wonderful manager. She went out of her way to help find some rare items for me and I look forward to seeing her again and will only buy product from her at the Market! She is such an asset and I hope Rivertown Market knows how lucky they are to have her as a manager!!

Yelp
Everyone here is super nice and helpful. It's a bit pricey but what isn't these days. They have a wide variety of wine and spirits. The shelves are not as stocked as they should be (most place aren't currently) This is my go to grocery store

Yelp
I was excited to visit this location when it initially opened and was happy when the opportunity presented itself to do so. I was warmly greeted upon entering which was a pleasant gesture. The location is aesthetically appealing. There were bouquets of fresh flowers at the entry way just before the handheld baskets. I picked up one just in case I saw some treats that needed a home along the way. The baked goods section featured confectionery delights from local businesses that I recognized. I settled in on a Lemon Butta Pie from Lush Yummies (I highly recommend it, so good!) The fresh produce section featured an array of different fruits and vegetables. The Pineberries (pink strawberries) caught my eye and I decided to get some. As I continued to make my way around the store, I noticed local businesses peppered throughout which I LOVED! Which brings me to the wine section OMG.... although I'd consider myself a novice at best when it comes to wine, I was impressed by the offerings here. As I continue on my journey of learning wine and discovering what my preferences are, I know where to come to make my purchases.

Yelp
I am pleased that more of the major chains are finally moving their way back into Detroit. For a small scale market this isn't a bad market at all they definitely do have a lot of local items which is great and they're vegetarian and vegan options are definitely out of this world so far and I think they'll bring me back here just for that. I wish they were a little bit bigger just because they don't carry everything that I personally would like but it is just a Market Place and not a normal Meijer. The staff was very friendly as I walked in and walked around they were all helpful asking if I need help with anything which is always great when shopping at a local market. I did like that they had a little coffee shop involved so if you want to grab some coffee while you're going you can and they also make fresh sushi daily which is a nice added a bonus. The store is definitely clean and proper which is always a great thing when going into a new business. Parking lots a little small but it's OK since it is a small scale store, so you won't be in long. I'll definitely be coming back to this one because they are vegetarian options are actually better than their local Myers which is weird since they are the same company but I'll definitely be coming here to grab what I need for groceries.

Yelp
David Cain at the Great Lakes coffee bar down at river town is really charitable. I tried to order a Supercrease on my bagel but David told me I didn't need that, and he was right! Thank you for a wonderful experience, DC.

Yelp
The atmosphere here is electric! Right in the heart of downtown Detroit. It feels so fun and welcoming every time I come into the store. It's very neat, clean and well stocked with everyday items I purchase. They have a huge selection of local vendor items as well as household necessities. If you're looking for a quick bite after work, you can grab a hot slice of pizza or some fresh sushi. The sweets here are top notch so when I just have a sweet tooth I make a stop. I love that they are open til 10pm, that's hugely convenient for those last minute trips. This is one of my favorite stores to shop at.

Yelp
I do like and appreciate a grocer here in this neighborhood, it's about time. I've done a review on this location before, and I'm upset enough to another. I'm a frequent shopper here, spend a lot of money here but no longer. I live directly across the street from Market. The staff know my face and how many bags of groceries I purchase. I don't need to steal. Since I live so very close to Market, I packed my fold-away cart with returnable, that were purchased there. I needed to pick up two or three things, ended up purchasing many more. As I'm approaching check out with my basket and my fold-away, I'm immediately approached by one of their staff to go to another check out, I asked why. Response was, oh because you have so many things and I was going to help you. Mind you, I've purchased much more than I had today with and without a cart, have never been asked to go to another checkout. The one I was at, no one else was there. As they found out I did not have anything that I did'nt or couldn't pay for. I proceeded to bag my things in a Woodward Corner bags. I'll be going elsewhere. The people in this neighborhood need a good market just not the insult.

Yelp
Don't feel safe shopping there . Lots of people just hanging out.also lots of national brand items are out on the shelf.
