We ate at the Sizzling House and it was such a great experience! Wonderful customer service, the portions were large and very fresh! We did the sizzle plates, cajun chicken ramen and some appetizers. Definitely will be back! Most of the shows were closed on the plaza when we left, but it's so nice, bright, clean, and has an uplifting atmosphere with fun decor.

Google
It is one of the greatest places for Asian foods. From the Marketplace to the myriad of restaurants, this place is amazing! Shoutout to Holly Grill, one of my favorite restaurants! There is also a bakery next to the supermarket that has AMAZING Green Onion bread. Sweet-something. Sadly, I arrived a bit late today, so some shops were closed.

My daughter wanted to go to Mekong Supermarket due to a Tik Tok trend regarding their Mango Ice Cream. I thought just a supermarket...NOPE! It was an adventure in experience for us in the most exciting way. Mekong was located in the Asian District of Tempe, which had a plethora of restaurants and store you can shop all this is attach to Mekong Supermarket via Mekong Plaza. Having all the shops and restaurants interconnected was a plus due to Arizona heat. You do not need to venture outside to enter these shops...restaurants. Yet, you could if your intent was to head directly to one of the restaurant. If you where there just mosey than Mekong Plaza is the destination. We stop first at Tea Avenue I had the Ragin Orange...so refreshing! My daughter had the Supernova Tea aptly name since it was a brightfully punchy delicious. After we venture into Mekong Supermarket pick up the Mango Ice Cream (worth the 40 minute drive) Ending our venture at Sweet Time Bakery and we truly enjoyed an Asian sausage wrapped in sweet bread...with other pastries purchased. A most happy way to spend a Saturday.

I love this place! It's really the closest thing Phoenix has to a chinatown. You can pretty much find food from all over asia. Great desert options too!

Google
I’m at Mekong plaza, at the dim sum place. It’s great- the quality and ambiance could be plucked out of Monterey park in Los Angeles, complete with retired ladies gossiping in Cantonese at the table next to me “yum cha”ing, a char siu bbq rack takeout line, a handful of boba and shaved ice places, and your neighborhood Asian travel agency. The only difference is that it’s far less crowded and sparkly clean floors here. I ordered just a few staples to test to basics since it’s hard to sample if by oneself at a dim sum restaurant: (1) pay-Dan jook thousand year old egg, (2) har gow (3) siu mai. Very fresh. I’d give it a 4.5/5. Not over steamed, if only just slightly (I’m picky). Good dense portions of chicken/pork and egg pieces in the jook, generous size and ample pork in the siu mai. The supermarket is great, very expansive. Large fresh seafood and produce section. So many frozen bao choices it’s mind boggling. Has all the sauces and more. Generally many Cantonese, Vietnamese influences. I can’t really recognize other types of Asian so can’t comment beyond that. I highly recommend coming to visit. Now as I type, people from one table are getting up to make a social call to another table. It’s very much a community atmosphere here. I just heard heavy toi-san accent…it’s like I’m being transported back to my childhood sitting at yum cha with my grandparents

Google
This place is so great. It’s like visiting another country. The Mekong market has really good prices. I love their produce their mushrooms, their meat and all kinds of rice vinegar and things like that for Chinese cooking. Also, the plaza has all kinds of little restaurants, a bakery that is so good

Google
Lots of neat stores. The restaurants inside and out smelled amazing. Cool place to check out if you're hungry. It's not too big but a good size place to check out stores. Great dessert and beverage stores. Bathrooms are not the cleanest. Parking is tight during the weekends so expect to wait a while for a decent parking spot. Overall, neat place.
google avatar

HoyMay P.

Yelp
Mekong Plaza is an Asian inspired market, full of businesses, a grocery store and food hall. On the weekends, it can be quite busy. Parking is at a premium. Wi-Fi can be found inside the plaza. Look on the wall for the username and password.

Yelp
I like coming here. It's a foodies paradise, with so many good places to eat. I haven't tried them all, but they're on my list ;) I especially like the Sizzling House, Happy Baos, and Thai Spices. There is a big grocery store that stocks lots of Asian groceries, fresh meat and fish, and fresh fruits and veggies. There are also some barber and beauty shops, gift stores, a food court, a cosmetic store, and jewelry store. I always find something cool here--today is was a little Hangyodon (I love him!) change purse.

Yelp
Lots of food. Lots of space. Good times. Big family gatherings solid. I came with fiance and her family and she ordered all the good stuff.

Yelp
Mekong Plaza is a shopping and dining complex at the southwest corner of Dobson and Main in Mesa. The Plaza consists of Asian groceries, Ice Cream store, vendors in the corridor selling jewelry, and plenty of restaurants that have a mom-and-pop feel to it. Plenty of parking and lots of seating at the food court.
google avatar

Yelp
Mekong Palace is a one-stop hub in Mesa for Asian businesses that includes a supermarket, dine-in restaurants, food court, gift shops and other services. They have a nice selection of Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino and Taiwanese restaurants all under one roof. I live near the Asian district and like to stop by here from time-to-time. I have dined at Happy Baos, Tasty Pot, Tea Snow, Sizzling House and a couple places in the food court area in the past. Mekong Plaza hosts occasional events like Chinese New Year and food festivals. A huge expansion recently took place that will add more businesses.

Yelp
This is our go to Asian market for all our Asian fixes. They have the freshest fruits and their sea food section is great. They have good variety and fresh fishes. The place is well organized and has good naming convention. We have tried their mangoes, the best in the valley. Pricing is good too. There are many stores around the plaza, which is worth a try!

Yelp
This is our first time wandering through Mekong Plaza. came here for dinner. Had a 20 minute wait so we wandered around definitely want to come back and check out the marketplace and see how it compares with other Asian market that we frequent.
google avatar

Kara W.

Yelp
It was first time here and I was really impressed with the selection of fruits. The jackfruit was bought here was a large chunk that we paid $19 for. It was enough to fill a large salad bowl full and was the best tasting jackfruit we've had in the US.it was very busy with lots of people. We went on a Saturday afternoon.

Yelp
I love bringing out of town family and friends here! The variety of Asian restaurants, grocery store, boba, tea, gift shops and even a Korean beauty store- all in one plaza. There are always new restaurants popping up here. Give yourself a few hours to "get lost" and find your new favorite place! I love Sizzling Ramen, Happy Nap's as well as Propolis Beauty. Don't forget to stop at the supermarket for fresh produce and the best selection of chili oils!
google avatar

Jen-jen R.

Yelp
Not the cleanest supermarket. I'd rather go to International Market. Much more reasonable prices than in Mekong. Not to mention their parking lot is always full.
google avatar

Karis L.

Yelp
I just love going here because it's a different feeling! The decor is cute and welcoming! I like that it's an indoor mall with restuarants and stores inside, as well as, Balboa tea spots. I usually go to walk around and stop at Bo for dumplings. Recommend going here even if just to browse just to get out of the house. While you're there, order food to go, as they have several restaurants in and outside of the strip mall at this location.
google avatar

Yelp
Super cool Asia bizarre. It's in an old mall which as an 80's kid I find funny. Brings back memories. Lots of great food choices. Restaurants. A food court area. A grocery store that is stocked and amazing. A coupon Asian shops with things I have no clue about but I saw Buddha, incense, clothes. I will be back for sure.
google avatar

Thor B.

Yelp
It was a far ride, but I enjoyed the food and ambiance Asian store had a lot of stuff
google avatar

Camilla M.

Yelp
Mekong plaza is one of my favorite Asian markets. They have a lot of choices in the store. They also offer fried fish at the counter, which not other markets do anymore. I also love their food court and all the shops outside of the market.
google avatar

Ngoc H.

Yelp
Met a friend here for lunch so decided to eat at the food court. I ordered from a viet place and she ordered from Filipino place. I ordered the bun ga nuong which was chicken, veggies and vermicelli. My meal was ok. Nothing special for $15. Hers was good she said (pork belly and veggies) but overall would try others since wasn't anything out of this world. The 3 stars was mostly for the supermarket which has a lot of good produce and meat.
google avatar

Betty L.

Yelp
They have a dim sum place in the plaza. Lots of people go and I bring my friends. There are many other shops there. This location is similar to the Lee Lee store area in the Mesa or Chandler area. There is another similar place near 99 ranch in Phoenix, though I am not sure if 99 ranch is still in that plaza. The place can get hectic and crowded. Make sure to stay away during the lunar New year unless there is something you have to buy from there. The parking lot is jammed at that time. I get scared my car will get hit it is so crowded. The inside of the plaza itself smells maybe like fish. It is hard for me to say because there are so many restaurants around and the main supermarket that sells a variety of different things. I have went to unphogettable, the tea shop tea avenue, and the dim sum restaurant Mekong palace.

Yelp
We drove about 40 minutes from Anthem to this place. I wanted to show my boys and experience the asian market culture: food and shops. We love the place. I like the fact that there's a Filipino vendor in the food court, which is a plus for me.
google avatar

Natasha A.

Yelp
The first time I had been to a plaza like this was in Japantown in San Francisco and I fell immediately in love. This plaza has a lot of Chinese stores, Vietnamese stores, and Thai stores! Including import stores, restaurants, a Taiwanese bakery, a travel agency and more! It's definitely worth a look! It's appropriately named after the Mekong river which is a trans-border river which touches, China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

Yelp
I have never in any part of the country visited found such a varied assortment of Asian-unique products, foods and spices - meats, fish, seafood and produce in such a culturally exceptional atmosphere! I would bet that if you want it, and they don't have it, it doesn't exist! This place is humongous, enormous, huge - yet incredibly clean and neat, with fantastic service, nice and helpful staff. You can actually visit to shop for groceries but end up having a meal (they have multiple establishments with varied offerings), getting some gift and nik-nak shopping taken care of, visit a dentist, get some international mailing done, make time for a foot massage or your hair done... and more! This is like visiting a province of multiple Asian cultures all at once. A Foodie paradise, you'll find just about anything under the sun for your cooking needs in one place, amazing. Make plans and time to walk around awhile, you'll be fascinated.

Eron Z.

Yelp
They charge me 29.00 dollars for a 12 pack of modelos and I try to return the beer they wouldn't take it back and I never left the store and they said no returns on sigarret and alcohol.... 29 dollars for a 12 pack man

Yelp
i went for DimSum today and this was only my 2nd time here. 1st time was on a weekday sat by the counters and where the food comes out; Service was great. figure today i go for some DimSum instead of going to phoenix palace only 3 miles away. Host sat me along the wall opposite of the kitchen side where there are other rooms along the back wall. Service was lousy, the lady pushing the cart with buns was the only friendly face and she's the only one that helped me. I was waiting for my rice crepe with beef (beef cheung fun) to come aroud and sat there for 20 minutes and never even came around. Saw her come out of the kitchen then she dissappeared. I asked the nice lady that helped me from the beginning for my beef cheung fun and she got it for me. After she got it for me now all of a sudden the lady with the cheung fun cart shows up out of no where and stay in that particular area for a bit and when she went past me didn't even stop, slow down or ask if i wanted anything, lousy service, bad service attitudes except for the 1 lady. then I only got 11 small plates which came out to over $70 I asked the host /cashier how much are the plates and told me $5.50 per plate. Told him I'm never coming back again and for the lousy service it was way too expensive. The host wasn't that friendly niether to begin with. From now on i'm staying with Phoenix Palace in chandler on dobson and warner for my DimSum and Best Hong Kong dining in mesa right on dobson. once again very poor and bad service. management needs to step up to the plate and get themselves trained so they can have a sufficient and well managed staff to serve food. these problems all start from management because all they want is money and don't care about customer service. I'd stay away if your a new customer wanting to check them out but go to phoenix palace instead for better service and better food and prices

Yelp
Been here around a dozen times in the past 4 weeks. Get food, boba drinks, and then shop a little

Yelp
Hadn't been in here in a while, and decided to bring my wife on a Sunday excursion. Probably the best variety of tropical fruits and vegetables in the state. If someone knows of better, please let me know. Bought a case of mangoes, tried one, so sweet it made my teeth tingle. Nice fresh half papaya, sugar plums, delicious! Can of lychee fruit, coconut cream, and lots of other goodies. On check out, show your Veterans ID for a discount. We then hit the bakery, which was rather depleted, being Sunday afternoon. Bought a few little cream cakes. Ordered dinner to go from one of the Vietnamese restaurants, then continued browsing. Around the bend found a cool little curio shop and bought a lucky bamboo plant. Found the new food court, looks interesting, but for another day. Bought a grapefruit iced tea, which was delicious and refreshing. Picked up the dinner and called it a day. I highly recommend visiting this place. It feels like a day in an Asian city, but air conditioned.

Yelp
I love visiting Mekong Plaza! This is my go to place to grab asian groceries. There are boba shops and restaurants in the plaza as well. It does get pretty busy on the weekends but go in the mornings to avoid crowds!
google avatar

Yelp
Mekong Plaza does not disappoint! When I arrived in Phoenix three years ago, I met Sam M. at Lee Lee's International Supermarket. In our conversation about must-go places, he referred me to Mekong Plaza. However because of distance, I kept putting the visit off. Thank you, Karen W. for bringing me to this fabulous back to Asia experience. The shops, the diverse cultures, wafting smells of street food magically come together at Mekong Plaza. On the outside, I was excited to see a Thai Foot Massage Place. When I walked in, I was greeted with sights, sounds and smells of dim sum (Mekong Palace). We came to eat at Heng's Kitchen, but I was drawn to the Banh Mi shop, there was pho to try, my stomach and eyes were greedy, but I knew I absolutely could not take everything in. Mesa residents, can I express how jealous I am that you have access to such a delicious Mecca? I also saw the Boba tea shop, which I also noticed that Karen W. was sipping on while she waited for me to arrive. Needless to say, I need to plan another trip to Mesa, sooner than later.

Yelp
My wife really likes Mekong. They have a good assortment of items. We also get an Veterans discount on some items. Thank you Mekong!

Yelp
Good Little Asian Mall Complex Conveniently located off Dobson and Apache in Mesa AZ this Mall complex has everything from Thai food to Pho and shaved ice. A packed Asian market also fills a good portion of the mall. Parking can be tricky on the weekends as this place gets packed.
google avatar

Benny W.

Yelp
Be sure to try the stand that makes stuffed mini pancakes. It's called Hone Do Cake. The Vietnamese restaurant, unPhoGettable, was good too.
google avatar

Angela A.

Yelp
This place makes you feel like you are in Asia. Many different types of Asian restaurants (Boba, Taiwanese, Vietnamese sandwich, Pho, dim sum), an Asian supermarket, along with other shops. The ladies room only has 2 stalls and a bit dirty. The mall is crazy and chaotic.. really, like you are in Asia! It's a true cultural experience.
google avatar

Rocky V.

Yelp
They used to be King in the Asian markets. However today experience was terrible. Waited nearly an hour for fish to be Cleaned and Cooked. And NO! It was not busy. What happened to all the regular workers?? Weren't they fast and Efficient??? Or were they let go by the non Asian guy wearing a shirt 2 sizes too small?
google avatar

Nicholas C.

Yelp
This is an Asian mall with various outlets, including a Haircut place, Thai restaurant, trinkets/collectibles giftshop, insurance, ice cream, other restaurants as well as an Asian supermarket that's similar to LeeLees in its offering and layout (very smelly like LeeLees, too). There is also a 'Tea, Snow & Coffee' smoothie place which is absolutely worth divine and do be sure to check it out.
google avatar

Benny C.

Yelp
It's a cool Asian strip mall complete with various restaurants and shops. The Market here is pretty solid. There are many Asian markets around town but this plaza has a market that has a notably large produce and meat market and shops so it's pretty unique for Phoenix. The prices are also good, better than I've seen on the West Valley for veggies and the like. I have only really been to the market and the big restaurant here and I was impressed with both. Also there are tons of Asian restaurants just outside the plaza that I have to try. To be continued... Coming back to get some boba next time and some rolled ice cream in the future :)
google avatar

Laila N.

Yelp
Lovvve this place!! So many different foods to try. Lots of staff to help. Delicious thai restaurant part of the store. They are super aware of keeping covid safe in the thai restaurant and food is sooo good. Love it

Yelp
Re-edited this review again to omit a review meant for a bakery located inside this plaza. That review is under AA Ozzy Bakery's Yelp page. --- Don't know what happened to my review that went with the photos of pho below- must've accidentally erased it when I clicked on "UPDATE MY REVIEW." Just to rehash... Mom found her shrimp pho just OK-- she ordered pho from another stall on the following visit. I decided to try the duck pho again, as I found the first try to be very tasty! On the second visit though, I asked for the mushrooms to be omitted-- while I LIKE mushrooms, mushrooms don't like me (mushroom allergy). The second bowl was still delicious, but definitely not as great as the first one. No surprise, since mushrooms fall under the umami group (one of the five basic tastes, lending "meaty" and "brothy" flavors). I also noticed more pieces of duck in the second bowl, which would've altered the flavor profile of the second bowl.

Yelp
One of the few Asian shopping centers in the Phoenix metro area. There's an Asian market, various restaurants (Thai, Vietnamese, Boba, Chinese), and a few retail shops. It doesn't have the selection or energy of the Chinatown markets in Vegas, LA, or Orange County. Kind of shocking actually when you consider that there are 3x more people in Phoenix than Vegas. Return Factor - 90% Where else am I going to go for my Asian fix?
google avatar

Clyde R.

Yelp
I guess if you haven't seen Asian food or groceries before this could be exciting for you. the place is okay very unorganized in my opinion and Messy. The parking lot is very small and not accommodating for the number of visitors spaces are very small The main hallway near the grocery Market is very crowded with pallets and dangerous forklift drivers are going through there it's not very safe but the bakery near the back is very good and there's a lot of bubble tea places and different eateries
google avatar

Brett B.

Yelp
This is one market that rivals even Lee Lees. Much like it, but cleaner and brighter. Would you like to try some Durian? They have it, both fresh and frozen. Go ahead, take a whiff. I know you want to. A little cramped, but well worth the adventure.
google avatar

Karen W.

Yelp
Mekong Plaza is home to a great supermarket, and some good Asian restaurants. There are also some shops that sell clothes, a kids store, a dental office, and a realtor to name a few. My favorite place to get food here is the Mekong restaurant in the back next to the food court.
google avatar

Yvonne G.

Yelp
This is the place to shopping if you are shopping for EVERYTHING--Asian and otherwise. The only thing you can't get here is Matzoh ball soup. Fresh fish, meats, an incredible variety of produce and canned items from countries all over the world. If you have that special recipe requiring lots of exotic ingredients, this is the place to find it. Bought lots of meat today and didn't have a cooler to put it in so they packed my meats in ice. Great customer service. Always a great place to shop.
google avatar

Janet N.

Yelp
Woo! An Asian market that contains so much exotic and abundant food it caters to all ethnicities of that of Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Thai and a bit of Japanese. From frozen produce, desserts and seafood. Instant noodles, varieties of sauces, housewares and fresh produce. Mekong Plaza has all your Asian needs. It's a huge shopping market that carries anything Asian related you can think of- mostly. They fry fish in the seafood department and they give 10% off of your total purchase. The lines go quickly, I satisfy my Asian food needs, good prices and discounted. What a deal!
google avatar

Wayne Z.

Yelp
Mekong Plaza is a great place to go, both for Asian groceries and for a bite to eat. They have a food court which has several different cuisines. Craving Filipino food? Stop by Wholly Grill. Craving roasted duck? Stop by the Chinese restaurant, which also serves Dim Sum on the weekend.
google avatar

Jacky K C.

Yelp
TIP: great place to beat the heat and hang out, buy asian groceries, check out the restaurants inside. There's no chinatown in Phoenix, but this plaza is the closest thing to it. The supermarket, and all the stores and restaurants are inside so you don't have to stand out in the heat. The asian theme food court is not as big as the ones you find in san jose or la but it's really better than nothing. one of the stalls even have chinese bbq!
google avatar

Preeti B.

Yelp
I have already posted my review ...forgot to give stars and so writing once again....it's a great market ...great place for Ur groceries ..
google avatar

Penny L.

Yelp
This is a big Asian type of mall. They have a supermarket, haircut place, restaurants and gift shops. Not much that I wanted to buy, but I did pick up a novelty solar lucky cat in one if the gift shops.

Susan T.

Yelp
we were ignored from being seated to paying the bill. this was the worst dining experience I've ever had in the Phoenix metro area. I've lived here for 42 years. truly. the food could have saved the experience of terrible service but sadly it did not. my husbands dish, a vegan dish, had no flavor whatsoever. my shrimp dish was not awful but it did not seem special at all. our dining companions ate less than half and winced when they felt obligated to take home the rest. so having all our plates cleared and take homes in sight, you'd think someone would come over and bring us a bill. but no. we waited as long for the bill as we waited to place our order. it was really ridiculous. they brought us the bill and without any questions about did we enjoy the food, how was the service or any subject, we paid the bill - we went to the cash register. then we left. never to comeback. again.
google avatar

Holvin L.

Yelp
This place is just aight, to be honest. There are usually a number of different vendors along the hallways, selling miscellaneous goods, like vases and T-shirts. Depending on when you visit, the restroom lines may be long, even for the guys! During one weekend when I frequented the restroom, I noticed that the whole sink was flooded, there wasn't any soap or paper towels, and the floor around the toilet and urinal was drenched in who-knows-what! I would have taken a picture, but honestly, the smell was so bad that I had to get the heck out of there as soon as I could! However, when I peeked inside the restroom another time, it actually was okay, so *shrug*

Yelp
This is an Asian mall that has quite a few Asian stores and restaurants in it along with a few other businesses as well. The place is always packed, and the grocery store in here seems to have a big draw to it. Every time I'm in the mall, the grocery store is packed! I don't come here often, but when I do it's not a half bad experience. I walk through the mall, check out the grocery store and then go home. They also have periodic fairs every now and then, which is kinda cool. There's a few restaurants in here that I have seen that actually look kinda good to eat at. I was in here Christmas day, as I usually am, and saw a Chinese place I wanted to eat at for Christmas dinner. We passed and went to a buffet across town instead. I will say, that I did have a horrible experience in the food court here on Sunday. My friend and I came in here after a movie to check the place out and were starving. It was only 2PM, and we didn't want a full meal quite yet, but wanted more of a snack. We hit the food court in hopes of picking up an egg roll, or a small cup of soup just to kill off the hunger. What a mistake THAT was. For starters, the tables in the food court were a MESS. Disgusting MESS. Every table had half eaten food on it in dishes that looks like it had been sitting there for quite a while. It appeared that if you ordered a full meal here in the court, you got it in actual "real" dishes and not Styrofoam. down side to that? You can't throw it away and it has to be cleared by someone who works there. Fine, unless no one cleans up the food court, which was the case when we were there. We actually found a table that didn't have a zillion empty dishes on it, and it was LOADED FULL of sauce stains, crumbs, and all kinds of garbage from who ever had eaten there before us. Disgusting. We sat down and ordered a plate of 4 egg rolls, and the place we ordered from said he would clean the tables for us. 10 minutes later, he still had not done so, and I had to go ask him to wipe down the table for us. We dumped some Windex on it, and then left. If it hadn't been that it was Christmas Day, I would have never eaten here at the food court. It was disgusting. But, it was to late at that point, as we had already paid and didn't feel like embarrassing ourselves and asking for it to go, or asking for our money back. I only come here once a year, and that's about all I can handle for this place. It's just not my style, and after the bad food court experience, I don't really plan on returning any time soon.

Trisha S.

Yelp
Numerous choices for grocery items. However, we experienced rude behavior from the staff assigned to the seafood counter. My fiancé answered an important call, and so he missed the call for his number. When he went up the counter, he was told in a loud voice, "What the heck? You are not paying attention!" Bear in mind, his number was 30, and they just called out 32. It was the same for the other customer who was after him.
