"Enjoy the drink of pirates (and Hemingway) With the US travel restrictions to Cuba recently relaxed, I was able to realize a lifelong dream and visit that enchanting tropical isle under an official educational license for "people to people" travel. There were so many highlights, I'll never be able to post them all. But let me get back on topic. In between the fascinating meetings with locals and the exhilarating live music and the walking tours of colorful colonial neighborhoods, I was also on a mission to decide who made the best mojito in Cuba. To be honest, I also sampled my share of Cuba Libres, but in the interest of stress-free travel, I was only judging the mojitos. And... the award for best mojito in Cuba goes to... the lobby bar at Hotel Meliá Cohiba in Havana. From the generous portions of rum and perfectly muddled spearmint to the exact balance of sweetness versus lime-ness, we have a winner! For any like-minded travelers who find themselves taste-testing around Havana, consider a trek to the bar where Hemingway drank his mojitos, La Bodeguita del Medio, a painfully small watering hole that has significantly more atmosphere than barstools. Above the bar is a framed note in Hemingway's own hand indicating that besides mojitos, he also enjoyed daiquiris (but for those he visited the historic restaurant El Floridita). Salud!"

I was invited to stay on the 20th floor (The Level) and it was a wonderful experience. Between the lovely staff, the breathtaking agriculture, and the view, it left me wanting to come back! Power never went out and the food and drinks were always fresh.||Special shout out to Yeni, Yula, Marioles, Mara, and Julio for the VIP service!

The treatment of the hotel staff was always friendly. I invited my brother for his birthday and they surprised us with a free cake made for him for that occasion. I am also glad with the buffet in the breakfast, the variety was great and the quality incredible

My embassy booked 10 nights at the hotel, and I have to congratulate the hotel management for the wonderful experience I had these past few days. The entire staff goes out of their way to ensure that guests enjoy their time at the hotel to the fullest. My stay was at The Level in room 2010. The views of the Malecón were impressive, and I can say it's the best suite I've stayed in in Havana.

This is my first time to Cuba and stayed at Melia Cohiba for 6 nights with group of friends. All staff were kind and helpful but Ramiro and Mailet stood out and took the extra mile in their assistance and hospitality. I would rate the hotel out of 5 as follows: Location: 4,Comfort:3.5,Check in/out service: 5,Service: 5,Amenities: 3,Cleanliness: 2.5,Food&Beverage:3. The staff were doing their best to provide service but the building is quite old and need urgent renovations. The bed linen and towels were extremely over used and must be replaced. One major downside of the hotel is payment methods accepted from tourists where we were forced to pay by credit card in US dollars despite the availability of cash in local currency. I will recommend the hotel and will come back because of the location and service conditionally that the amenities and facility are renovated.

Best place to stay in the hearth of Vedado. Fine gastronomic offer and extremely friendly staff. I reccomend Julio from The Level, he is always focused on the details and needs of customers. I've been coming to this hotel for 17 years and it never disappoints me.

Very nice clean place and lovely. But let me tell you they will find someway to rip you off. Prices change for foreigners sadly how it is in many places in Cuba the difference is here they do it with a professional way. So if you pay for your hotel room $160 you will end up paying double or triple, somehow someway they will get you to pay the extra..

In short, spectacular. Thanks to receptionist Heriberto Luna for his patience and excellent service, as well as to the bellboys and breakfast staff. The hotel is superbly equipped, full of energy and professionalism.

I stopped by this hotel for a drink and was pleased how nice the hotel lobby bar was. I had a cocktail while I was figuring out my night plans. Good service and cocktail was great. Note: You can pay with credit card but it will be charged in USD.
