Melia Dubai

"How did it strike you on arrival?Meliá is the first five-star Spanish hotel in the Middle East. Guests are immediately greeted by a dramatic, futuristic lobby decorated with sleek Italian furniture and black marble. You'll have to enter through an underground parking garage, though, which kills some of the romance. Nice. What’s the crowd like? Not surprisingly, many Spanish travelers. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The classic Meliá Guestroom is awash in shades of taupe and brown with mauve accents that complement the dark wood floors and fluffy throw rugs. There’s not much by way of art, but TVs are hidden behind a sleek mirrored panel. Depending on the room, you might hear music from the downstairs nightclub. South-facing rooms have skyline views. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?Large beds are soft and comfortable. Different pillows are available upon request. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The bathroom is separated from the room by a glass wall (and a curtain). Some rooms have bathtubs but no showers, though most include a separate toilet, shower, and bath. Toiletries are neatly packaged and abundant but aren’t name-brand. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wifi is free with improved quality and speed. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you. Some rooms are loud, so avoid lower floors if you’re hoping for quiet tranquility. If you're in Dubai for the nightlife, the lobby bar is good for a rousing night out. Chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s Indian restaurant is rightfully popular with guests and locals alike. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay?Estrellas, the rooftop pool bar and lounge, is a nice surprise. Bottom line: worth it, and why?Rooms are sleek, clean, and modern, and the location is convenient to both the airport and a few other attractions, including Dubai Creek and the old souks. A good value option if you’re not yet ready to splash out." - Laura Ratliff

Meliá Desert Palm (Dubai, UAE) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Another entry on the more sedate end of the Dubai hotel scene, Meliá Desert Palm Dubai lies some twenty miles outside the city center, and trades construction cranes for polo grounds. And if your visit’s purpose allows you to choose the country over the city — well, it’s not much of a choice, to be honest. True to its name, it's an oasis, a sedate resort-style experience with clean-lined modern villas surrounded by gardens, hedges, trees — greener than your average desert experience, that’s for sure." - Tablet Hotels

Hello, I stayed with my family for 10 days at this hotel. First of all, the hotel is beautiful and the service is incredible. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We were upgraded on arrival and had a wonderful stay in one of the hotel's villas. Thank you to the woman who checked us in, whose name we unfortunately forgot. The villa was clean, and the meals we had at the restaurant by the pool were delicious!||We would like to sincerely thank Nyi Min, who took great care of us every morning, Senali, who was adorable and made incredible virgin mojitos, and Kamaran and Ashish for their service and kindness. ||We would also like to sincerely thank Yas Sein, April, Suman, and Phyo Zaci (I hope I spelled your names correctly)|for maintaining our villa and their thoughtful touches. It was a real pleasure to spend 10 days with such warm and pleasant staff.||Special thanks to Ahmed, if I'm not mistaken about his name, who checked us out. ||We've probably forgotten a few names, but we would like to thank the entire Meliá team.||We look forward to seeing you again!

This our second time in this hotel and it won’t be the last , in both times we got served by (Shahid), he is very helpful, kind with a wonderful attitude. Also Amina from the reception was very supportive and helpful before and during our stay. We booked one bedroom with private pool it is amazing, the room is spacious and neat. The pool is the masterpiece 👏🏻 the size of the pool and the depth is really a game changer, also it so clean and i really loved how the pool light up in the night. It works for both couples or families with kids, My kid enjoyed aloot even though it is deep for him with the floaters it was just amazing.

Booked a villa for two people, and the place itself was spacious, clean, and had a nice outdoor area and pool. However, the experience was disappointing because of how the staff handled a short visit from a few guests. After my guests arrived I was contacted and questioned by the reception staff quite insistently about not informing them earlier. I completely understand that there are policies to follow, but the way the situation was managed felt unnecessary and unpleasant. The staff acted as if we were doing something wrong, even though it was just a small gathering for a few hours, and we confirmed numerous times that only two people were staying overnight! which makes sense why we were in the smaller villa! Despite explaining that, they insisted we move to a larger villa and pay extra. I eventually agreed and paid the additional amount, but I did not appreciate being forced to move after we literally settled in and placed all our belongings. We also waited for quite some time for someone to assist with our luggage, and only one staff member came to help... To make things worse, the new villa’s pool was still unclean. It was frustrating to go through all that trouble for a move that felt unnecessary. The staff’s attitude made us feel as if we were doing something wrong, even though, based on reviews here and on other platforms, such small gatherings seem quite common and acceptable in this property type.

We’re Melia membership holders and had two options for Dubai — one was adults-only (not an option with a toddler!), and the other was this one. We stayed here for a week and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, calm stay outside the usual Dubai bubble. It’s a boutique-style hotel with just a few rooms, so it feels peaceful and personal. The two restaurants are excellent — amazing food every time — and the staff truly make the place special. Special shoutout to Kamran and Nyi Min at the restaurant — they were so thoughtful and attentive that they knew our breakfast order by heart by day two and always made sure our toddler was served first (a small detail that saved us from morning meltdowns!). Also, Kavindu and Nidharshan by the pool were absolute stars — always friendly, playing with our little one, setting up our sunbeds before we even arrived, and bringing out small toys to keep him entertained. It’s the people that make this place shine. Thank you for another wonderful stay — we’ll definitely be back.

This is the third year we work with the hotel teams during Dubai Polo in the Park event. Honestly every year the team overachieves; this year was just extraordinary. I would like to highlight and thank Nayla Hmaidan, Timothy Muasa, Aashiq, Julie and her very sweet colleague who helped out in the villa from F&B (her name escapes me so sorry!), the housekeeping gentleman who was present all day, IT super team, David and Shafiq from concierge, and of course the beautiful GM who always passes by to personally make sure everything is on point. WOW!!! HONESTLY so impressed and grateful to each and every one. Thank you!

Google
Lovely location that you makes actually feel you’re out of the town, and the view on the green polo field is a breath of fresh air. The rooms was spacious and bright, and very clean. Thanks to Fayas at the reception for your kindness. The staff is all very nice and willing to help, product knowledge in the restaurants could be improved.
