Excellent food selection, atmosphere, and incredibly friendly service. Fresh ingredients and very flavorful. Adding protein is inexpensive and the salad is premixed so you don't have to shake it 😉 If you're in a hurry I recommend calling ahead. Everything is meticulously crafted. I've had the Greek Salad the last 2 times and each time it was just as good as the last. Highly recommend. Had some froyo while I waited for my food 😁 Don't pass on this hidden gem

I've been coming here for years and the quality continues to exceed my expectations. How is that possible?! The owners are two of the most heart-centered, caring people I've had the blessing of knowing. They love their restaurant, community, food and service to others. If I could only eat at one place in Tacoma, it would be Melonseed deli. From my previous carnivore taste to my now vegetarian exploration, they offer it all. Highly recommend!! Plus the music is always on point - one can't help but feel relaxed and joyful in this space.

One word. Delicious. I had the Baha Veggie sandwich. it’s served warm on two small buns. I’m hooked already. My wife had the caprese sandwich and she liked it. It’s informal but comfortable seating. The service was very welcoming and warm. Great place.

If you haven’t been to this place you’re missing out! This place has extremely flavorful food and frozen yogurt. My daughter had an Italian slider and I had the Chicken Caesar salad and it was absolutely delicious. The ingredients taste fresh & they give fairly large portions of food so you will definitely be full and have some for later. You can tell they love what they do by how they treat every customer and willing to answer any questions or make suggestions. I will be back to try more food on their menu. If you’re in this area check it out. You won’t regret it.

How did I not know about this wonderful gem?! From the entrance, u can just feel the good energy from the employees. The food is AMAZING! (under statement!!) I got the chicken caesar salad & chicken caesar slider. Oooohmygaaawd it was sooooo 💣 💣 💯!! But wat was really impressive was that I saw everyone behind the counter & in the kitchen constantly wiping down counters and putting on or changing gloves. Even though they were concentrating on making orders, they had such an upbeat energy. The lady greeting everyone was very welcoming, even offering fro-yo samples!! I went there a lil bit before closing, but their energy was as if they just started their day. I can't say enough about this place! Go check it out for yourselves, yall can thank me later!! And you WILL love the whole experience!

The food was a very solid 4.5/5, but the service and atmosphere make this an easy 5-star review. There are loads of options, you can mix and match sandwiches, the salads are sizable, and I love that they put tortilla chips on the side. The sandwiches are a good size, you definitely get your money’s worth. The best part is the staff - they are so genuinely friendly and helpful! This was a super pleasant lunch experience.

Incredible and fresh food with such good vibes! We love coming here all summer long. Every item is delicious, we recently ordered the Tiki Salad and Chicken BBQ sliders are they didn’t disappoint

What a fun little local spot! The staff are really nice, the food is TO DIE FOR and the meal deal is a lot of stuff for your buck, which these days is always a big plus. Service was a touch slow (they were short staffed and we came right at opening so it’s not a big deal for us), but the quality of the food and the ambience of the restaurant makes up for it. This was our second time, and I promise there are going to be a lot more visits!!

Where to begin. First and foremost if you have been driving by this place like me and haven't stopped, STOP ! This is a hidden gem for sure. It's super clean and very welcoming. We have been here two weekends in a row. The menu is expansive from munchies, salads, sliders, frozen yogurt etc. So far, we had the spiked tuna salad, turkey chutney salad, and today the Reuben slider and the Tenderoni slider . Everything is fresh and extremely flavorful. The owners and staff are so friendly and make this amazing place that much better. Now stop reading this and go eat at the Melon Seed Deli.

Cute little deli. The windows make the atmosphere light. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Pastrami Sandwich. It came on 2 round buns. The pastrami is shredded. The sandwich tastes great. I'll be taking half home. Would definitely come back.

I have been scoping this place for years and not sure why I've never stopped in until today. I had a taste for something fresh and not greasy--and figured one of their many salads might be good. We walked into a cute little place. Don't think this would be the place to meet as a group, or with more than one or two friends unless you're ordering to go. The staff is welcoming and kind. All seem to be working hard behind the counter. I opted for the Tuna salad and we also got a Chicken Caesar. They came served in a basket...which made it hard to mix all the toppings up--and the forks were a little flimsy. These factors made it hard for me to enjoy the salad like I wanted to. My friend got two sliders, which are big--closer to the size of an actual burger piled with meat and toppings. They looked really good. She was only able to eat one. We were brought samples of froyo while we were eating. Although they were not flavors that I would normally try, the samples were good and well presented. Definitely a lot of choices here (not so much for the froyo since they only seemed to have two flavors) which I would love to come back and try more. Some of the desserts sound interesting. I am excited for our next visit already. We left with plenty of leftovers to enjoy later. I don't think they have a loyalty program and I forgot to ask about at military discount.

Their yogurt is delicious! def come here for their desserts. The wait staff was very nice to me, offering to help in any way can. My first time so wasn't sure what to get but this was a winner. Will def go back again. Reasonably priced too! It is a small space but I did see numerous people enjoying their lunch and hanging out.

Melon Seed is one of our favorite, locally owned establishments in Tacoma. A sweet spot that local Tacomians covet! The sandwiches are unique, tasty, and made fresh! Khamani's Pastrami is my favorite sandwich that I've tried so far. The frozen yogurt is always delicious, with a lot of fresh fruit and fun toppings to choose from. Service is always friendly and fantastic. Highly recommend!

I would like to say the area that this dessert spot is in; is very tight. But the dessert options here are a variety ranging from decadent to fruity, and extra sweet. The menu is huge. This would be the perfect spot in the summer time! We had got this pineapple boat of froyo! Look at all the candy!!!! Was so yummy. But I wish there more gummy bears next time lol!!!

What a special gem this place was! I lived in Tacoma area for 6 years and this was our first visit to melon seed! My co worker had given me a gift card and after 4months of holding it, I finally redeemed it. What a great first impression. Tashia who was awesome all around was super helpful, the whole staff were. I mean I felt super welcomed. They had such a great menu including the dessert area. We had ordered the spiked tuna salad and cali dog which were Highly recommended by the staff and man they weren't wrong. It has all the flavors I could ask for. I mean what more can you ask to put on there. Spiked tuna salad will be my go to if I want to eat salad lol. The cali dog... (you will need extra napkins) not only did the staff bring our food to the table but they also brought us water (which we didn't ask) and yet they brought it by. Talk about customer friendly service. After our meal we were brought also some samples of their sorbet. Yummmmm! We got a small to go with all the flavors and I got my yelp check in complimentary sorbet. Thanks Melon seed... awesome food and beautiful staff! We will be back to try other things in the menu! Oh yah parking maybe a little tight

I love their froyo options! Didn't try anything else since that's all I wanted but that was probably the best I've had in a while. (I'm a big froyo person that's been to plenty of spots) love their topping options as well, our server was NOT greedy with them either lol Service was great! Super nice from the owner himself, the other cooks, and to the people working the registers. Definitely a crammed area for the workers to be working in though but it seemed to work for them. Hopefully management expands for their comfort. It definitely gets crowded when more people start to roll in so if you're claustrophobic like me it's probably not for you, but there's also nothing wrong with just picking up for to go.

Fire! A friend from work put me on. She asked what I wanted and I said anything without meat. She brought me veggie pizza sliders with chips and queso. AMAZING. I've never been inside the location but I will be there soon. I've heard it's nice .

Super amazing place! I got the brownie sundae, kiddo had the cheesecake with strawberry sorbet, and partner had the Chamoy yo'ada. All of us loved it, and the service was with a smile. I'm totally coming back :-)

My wife and I went here for a lunch date on a Wednesday. We did not order ahead. No line but the crew was busy assembling all the orders for the lunch rush. I think we waited about 15 minutes to get our food, which was totally fine And well worth the wait. My wife had the barbecue chicken sliders, and I had the turkey bacon mango chutney sliders. Both were excellent and well portioned. Prices are also reasonable. I also tried a pineapple upside down cake FroYo, which was as good as it sounds. The staff was really friendly. We will be back!

Came here for the tuna sandwich and the melon seed sandwich. For both the sandwiches, there wasn't anything too special about them. Fair price and tasty though. The standout imo was the froyo. We got a vanilla and pomegranate swirl and the pomegranate swirl was so fruity and delicious. It definitely out shined the vanilla and the combination was great.

Food was amazing and the service was so great! The Ambiance was clean and very nice Highly recommend the restaurant and the healthy options are definitely a plus!! Will be back!!

OMG! Yummmm! The sandwiches are incredible. The yogurt is delicious. Hands down the best place to get a sandwich in Tacoma. Service is somewhat slow, but worth the wait! GO!

Menu is a little overwhelming, probably 40+ food options with a confusing soft serve menu. Seemed a little stressful in there when we dropped in Friday night, ended up getting a vanilla pineapple milkshake. Employee space seems cramped for them to work efficiently. Employees were nice and offered samples prior to ordering.

This place is so bright and sunny and welcoming. Everyone here is so lovely and the froyo sundae was amazing.

I've been wanting to try this place for years. Finally was able to make it down and I would recommend for sure! Staff were super friendly, inside was clean and cute, salad was bomb and I also tried some frozen yogurt while waiting for my salad to be made! I def will be going back soon!

Always a good atmosphere. I've been coming here for more than 3 years and I've had almost everything on the menu. But my go to's are as follows. Cubano sandwich half and spiked tuna half salad. Also had froyo custom in a medium. I forgot the other photos but it's always yummy. The family that runs it is great and always welcoming. I love the island music that's played there as it reminds of the HI Life. Mahalo for the vibes and the ono.

I had the spiked tuna salad and WOW. Flavorrrr! Plus the variety of veggies and the crunch inside the tuna made me so happy. We got a free sample of their pineapple vanilla froyo with fruity pebbles and my daughter has a new safe food (she's SUPER picky even about sweets).

The food here is tasty and I like the variety of fresh offerings. I ordered a Turkey Chutney salad, a side of the Sweet Slaw, and they threw in a sample of the froyo topped with some fruity pebbles. The salad was huge with an excellent ratio of toppings. The mango chutney really pulled it together and I enjoyed the combination of sweet, salty, savory, and tangy flavors. I was disappointed they had run out of salmon, but hopefully I'll get to try the Northwestern salad next time. The slaw was really excellent. It was unusual in that it had a lot of oregano (I think) in it, but I really liked it. The froyo was good and I really want to come back for the mangonada style one with chamoy and tajin. The shop is counter service, and everyone behind the counter was very friendly. It's very casual inside, with about 6 tiny tables. It was a nice day so the garage style door was open and there were some seats at a bar facing outside. The main downsides are their website is broken so I couldn't find an updated menu online. It also was very busy and loud inside and I had to practically yell my order. But they packed up everything well for me to take it to go.

Generous, welcoming, and an amazing variety of unique sandwiches, salads and more. And save the best for last, froyo with fruity pebbles. Your heart will leave happy!

We LOVE Melon Seed! The food is unbelievably delicious and flavorful. The portion sizes are massive and could easily be multiple meals or shared between people. The "sliders" are basically full size sandwiches and can be mixed and matched. The staff/owners are sooo friendly, warm, and welcoming. The spot is small, colorful, and has great outdoor seating when the weather is good. Not to mention the frozen yogurt, which is phenomenal. They always give us a sample of the flavor of the day when we come in. The desserts are also huge and so yummy. The cheesecake and shortcake are the real deal. We bring everyone here when they visit! Cannot recommend enough. A gem of a local spot.

Recently visited Melon Seed for the first time just for dessert and it was a great experience. First off the customer service is amazing with the lady who helped us and she offered samples of their frozen yogurts to try before we decided on what we wanted. Their frozen yogurt flavors are amazing. I decided on a strawberry sundae froyo and it was awesome. My kids got 2 small frozen yogurts and added their own toppings. The only downfall for me was the lack of toppings available on the day we visited, but it was shortly after they opened and it seemed that everyone was working hard stocking everything up still. There's a good amount of seating inside, but it started filling up fast during lunch time. One time I plan to return to try their salads or sandwiches because those look and smelled amazing.

Beautifully prepared salads & freshly made froyo? Yes, please! Portions are good sized, share with a friend or bring it home for another meal. They serve sandwiches, salads, soups & frozen desserts. And the people in there are REALLY NICE!

I can absolutely not say enough about this place. The owner is absolutely amazing so kind and generous and just wonderful. When you walk into the melon seed there's no rush everything's clean. It's family friendly. It smells amazing it's inviting youyou just feel like you're at home the foods just so good. It keeps you wanting to go back for more. And then they're frozen yogurt, especially their pineapple is my absolute favorite I don't get to go there as often as I want to but my kids always want to go there.

I have to say, everytime I step into Melonseed, I am greeted warmly by a very attentive staff, which is so nice to see and experience. Though I've only been a few times, this stands out to me. This time around I ordered a hot sandwich. It came fast, and they even served a little sample dessert for me during the wait. And now the most important part - the food was delicious - like seriously good. I could tell they care about their ingredients. As someone who can suffer from indigestion, their food sat RIGHT with me. Not greasy, well constructed and balanced ingredients, and you could tell it was made with love. It made my belly happy!!

My daughter wanted frozen yogurt today during her spring break, so we stopped in. This was our second or third time. We have also had the sliders, which are super tasty, and I see that they have some new veggie ones! The people who own Melon Seed are the nicest people. We saw several folks come in after us and appeared to be regulars. It's a nice place, They have very eclectic food, are there to greet you with a sample, and will pretty much make what you want. I love the guy. Every time I stand next to the prep area, he is just so genuinely friendly. My daughter enjoyed her frozen yogurt and I was reminded why we should be back. My partner introduced this place to me. We've been back a couple times since and everyone is better then the last. They have a huge variety of sliders, salads, and snacks to choose from their menu. Portions are huge! Definitely more than enough for the two of us. Everything is made fresh! Service has always been amazing! They are so helpful in helping you choose what you'd like and give you their best recommendation. On top of that they give you a little sample of their frozen yogurt which is always such a treat for us! Place has options to dine inside or outside on a nice day! We love coming here anytime we're in the area! This place doesn't disappoint!

I had the Ruben, cubano, Mac stax, and the spiked tuna. All were good but the spiked tuna was great. I've been here a couple of times it's always delicious.

Support local doesnt get better than this gem! It's a small shop that makes good food. We ordered 2 sandwich plates and 1 salad. Portions are generous and lots of stuff in their dishes. The flavor combos were well balanced. The sliders are nice sizes, not dinky. Ea sandwich plate come with 2 sliders and tortilla chips. And the great thing is that you can get a 'duo' on the sandwich plate and choose 2 diff sandwiches. So in total, we got to try 4 diff sliders. Our favorites in this order: Big Boy Blue, Beefy Melt, Spiked Tuna and Wild Wild West with BBQ pork. But honestly, alll were good! The salad was good and lots more than just lettuce. Lots of toppings!! So much toppings that I needed more lettuce! We were so full, we didn't get a froyo, but they give everyone a cute little sample and it was yummy. But the best thing about Melon Seed is the owner and staff! Friendliest and happiest people. Willing to answer my many questions with patience and a smile. You can tell they take pride in what they do and they were hard working!!

Friendly service, great energy, YUMMMY FOOOOOD. I got the California salad mins a couple things, it was refreshing full of veggie colors and flavors. The Atmosphere bright and clean.

Nice little neighborhood spot with friendly employees and a HUGE selection on their menu! I was a little overwhelmed at the great looking options. Did a mix and match sliders and got two to try. I recommend the island BBQ salmon, their slaw is real good. Will be returning!

So happy they are open again! Today we had the pastrami and the Cuban and the kiddo had the PB, Nutella and banana (about the size of a hamburger bun). Pastrami: 4.5 stars from the hubs Cuban: 4.5 2 sliders that were soooo good. .5 off for tasteless chips PB & Nutella: 5. kid devored it, what's not to like from Nutella? Staff is 5+ stars. Super friendly, gave us a taste of fro yo to our table which was brilliant b/c we ordered some. They had pineapple and vanilla today. We all got the twist, with different toppings. A little bit of tropic feel on this cold Jan day.

I have hade several of their sandwiches and every one was amazing. They pack so much flavor into these small sandwiches, and you get 2 of them with your order. The staff is friendly and polite. They get really busy during lunch hours so be patient. It might take a while to get your order. There is plenty of seating with outdoor options too. I highly recommend you give them a try. You won't be disappointed

This place, wow!!! A true gem! The staff is so amazingly helpful and kind. You can get samples of the froyo (they only have two flavors at a time, I'm not sure how they rotate or even if they do). They bring it out to you in a decorated plate, so cute! Seems a little bit of a waste of time because they're sooooooo busy, but honestly, good in them for still taking that extra step! The froyo was AMAZING. We had the pomegranate vanilla swirl with strawberries and fruity pebbles. It was so good. Perfectly blend of cream, fresh, and tangy. I don't even remember what sandwiches we got, but they were FIRE. Pure FIRE. You get 3 "little" sandwiches which we were like "hmm will this be enough?" YES. They are LOADED. PACKED ABOVE THE BRIM. The meat is great quality and their toppings on it. Amazing combination honestly! You also get some tortilla chips on the side. This place is amazing. It is also black owned, so please come support! You won't regret it.

Always delicious. We have been here 3 times in the past 3 years. Every time is has been delicious. The shop is so cute and I love the open window seating. Both inside and outside seating are available. They have a huge list of delicious food. I always recommend the frozen yogurt. The service is always friendly and they give free samples to everyone. Food: super delicious and unique. My favorite thing is the spiked tuna salad. The sandwiches are also super yummy. The kids meals are fantastic too. A real treat. They bring out little samplers of their froyo and sorbet to customers just as a nice treat too. The service is so friendly! Very kind and laid back atmosphere. The ambience is clean and cute, but it can be warm on hot days. Doesn't seem to have AC. They have a little porch with tables.
