Melo's Café

Ordered an iced americano and got 2 baked goods here - 1 croissant and 1 pan de bono. That was not a croissant and both breads were super dry.

Great lattes and pastries!! My regular coffee spot is closed on Sundays, so for the past few Sundays I've come here and gotten an iced latte along with some pastries. They're delicious! I like coffee drinks to still taste like coffee (even if they have had flavor shots added) and Melo's knows how to make a tasty cup. I enjoy taking advantage of their pastry bundle sales, when they bag up 3 or 4 different yummy things and sell it for a couple bucks at the end of the week. Good stuff.

Such a wonderful place for coffee, pastries, and imported Latin American cooking staples! The person working there was so lovely :)

Great coffee. Even better employees. They source their beans from a local cafe, which is good. Never a bad experience and their baked goods are fantastic.

Great coffee, fast and reasonably priced, and friendly service. Bakery items are also well worth a try.

The bread was not fresh here. Any of them. The decline of Melo's Bakery is here, I'm not sure if they had a change of management but they became a last resort rather than a destination. Hopefully they will re look at their bread options and make a change.

The worst coffee I have ever had and the pastries were stale. This is a convenient store and they should leave food services to the professionals.

I want to start by saying that I have been coming to Melos for awhile know. Maritza is awesome and has never messed up an order. Coffee has been delish as well. I do not have any intention to harm a business, however, I do feel it is important to share my experience today. My friend and I came in today to grab coffee and a bagel on our way into school. We are teachers are were coming in on a Sunday to prep for school being out for the next 6 weeks. When my friend placed the order, there was a guy behind the counter that was talking to his friend and very distracted. I had to repeat my order a few times. Two Egg and cheese on a bagel and coffee. I get to school, take a bite of my sandwich and it has has bacon. I am allergic to Bacon, and decide To call them to let them know if the mistake. We call and right away the guy on the other line thinks we are lying. He insists (with an attitude) that he made the sandwiches right. He then says that it was someone else who messes up. We remind him that he was distracted and had to repeat our order. We ask for a refund and says that we will have to bring him the sandwich so he can see, because he doesn't believe us. He also says that Maritza left for the day so we will have to come back tomorrow. We finish our work at school and on our way back, go inside and there is no one there. "Hello!??! Hello?!! " nothing. We are about to leave and the guy comes in from the outside. We show him the sandwich (he then hangs up on his personal call... apparently he is a social butterfly) . He then says that we should have made sure that he made the sandwiches right. He eventually called Maritza and returned the money in cash. By that point we had some awkward turtle moments because a few customers had come in to witness this made speaking to us, so rudely. I cannot cannot believe that we are in a situation where COVD-19 is hurting businesses, and you would consider treating a customer in such a poor manner. We just wanted to grab breakfast and go. If I wanted someone to be rude to me, I would call my sister, who charges nothing for her tude. Never again, Mellos.

Great little coffee shop with pastries and very friendly staff. There was a whole case of delicious looking baked goods and the barista helped me figure out which ones to take home. Two large lattes and three pastries (two vanilla cream filled and one Apple turnover) set us back only $10. Not bad for a morning snack! Go here and try a few new things!

Well this isn't a real coffee latte place. Mex bakery and they have a minimal coffee machine so I'm going to continue back to an Italian restaurant I passed enroute walking here a mile from hotel.

Stopped by in the early morning for b-fast items while waiting for work on my car to finish. Disappointed that there were no b-fast sandwiches, but there was a big container of freshly made chicken tamales available! So, of course, we got a couple to try. They were AWESOME! Silky soft and moist corn with flavorful chicken and potatoes. Delicious! Who knew? Recommend!

Love their coffee and cappuccinos, the Guatemalan and Salvadoran sweet breads are fresh and delicious!!! Also, their breakfast sandwiches hit the spot.

Cute coffee shop to stop into especially if you're on your way to the airport. Choose from a range of traditional baked Mexican goods, or go for some coffee/ espresso and smoothies. The sweetest woman ran this shop. I only stopped in quickly to order a small latte ($2.50) with hazelnut (+$0.50), but I was very satisfied. Temperature wasn't scalding either so I was able to consume my drink on the spot. Strong hazelnut presence which I enjoyed very much. I really wished I had tried the baked goods. The temptation was so real though!

I was hoping for a real latte place in East Boston, but was disappointed with Melo's. Ordered a vanilla latte, but it tasted like coffee with some milk in it. Very minimal vanilla flavor and no sweetness at all. We also tried a couple of pastries which were underwhelming. They were dry and didn't have much flavor. They also didn't put very much filling into the pastry which was disappointing because the filling was the best part. Maybe we didn't pick the right pastries, but Melo's fell flat for me.

Their coffee and pastries are incredible. My partner and I try to go every weekend, this is definitely our favorite coffee spot in the area!

Love this place. The bread is really good. They many to choose from. What I like the most Is the millojas. Everything is delicious!

Small, breakfast takeout spot. Lots of LA pastries, tasty papusas. Fresh squeezed OJ is a plus, and the espresso not bad. I'll definitely return, if I know I'll have a wait at the airport.

Cute little coffee and pastry shop in East Boston. The pastries and breads reminded me of the ones that I encountered throughout my travels in central Mexico- yummy, on the sweet side and also pretty cheap. The staff were very nice and there was a steady stream of neighborhood folks coming in and out to pick up snacks and to say hi.

I love this place! I work near here and I always want sum refreshing to drink and this place has the best smoothie! Whatever I ask for they always happily do it. More sweet they put more sugar, milk ...anything. They're always so nice and accommodating! Especially 1 lady who I think is owner very sweet and always smiling making me feel very welcomedefinitely give it a try!

Neighborhood gem. Great coffee, friendly service, and delicious pastries! Great spot for a quick morning bite or to grab lunch.

I love the sweet bread at Melo's Cafe. I haven't been able to find this bread anywhere in MA. The employees there are also so kind!
