How to Cut a Cake at a Picnic Without a Knife | Eater

"Run by baker Nicola Collie, this California microbakery is skeptical of the wineglass cutting hack because it compresses cake and frosting, changes the intended order in which layers are eaten, and obscures the precise, defined slices she values given the craft behind cake-making. Collie prefers the dental-floss method—using a long piece of unscented floss held taut and wiggled through the cake like a cheese wire—to produce clean wedge or square pieces, and she recommends keeping floss handy for picnics; she also notes that cutting a round cake into a grid will maximize the number of servings." - Bettina Makalintal

I ordered from Cajun Seafood Boil in Hollywood through Grubhub and it did not disappoint! Fresh, hot, and packed with flavors, exactly what I was craving. Definitely my new go-to comfort food spot and hugely recommend!

Did not look anything like described or photographed. The burrito displayed is the “ultimate breakfast burrito”. Carne Asada was grey, stiff, and chewy not edible. Uber eats wouldn’t give me my refund for missing items like the 2.00 salsa that was clearly charged 3 times and we didn’t receive green salsa for the burritos. Save your coins go somewhere else it’s over priced for very terrible quality. I called the store and asked for an update on the refund process. No response yet.

I wish I could say that everything was perfect but I can’t….after driving an hour, placing my order, and then driving back home only to find that my order wasn’t double checked before it was bagged, sealed, and handed over to me is disappointing. I HATE gravy of any kind! I specifically said don’t put any gravy on my dressing; and it was drowning in gravy. I drove too far to make the drive back but when you spend $60 for 1 meal, your expectations are kind of high. This was my first time here and though there was a slight issue, the rest of my meal was AMAZING!! Parking sucks too……I’m just sayin’….. all in all, I’m not sure if I’d return

I was a bit confused at first but I honestly loved how quick and efficient the food service was. Also I got the chicken salad bowl and it was so full of flavor, 10/10. The best one I've had in my entire life and you get so much food for the price. I don't live in the area, I'm more Downey area but if I'm ever around LA again I would come back. The picture is from after I mixed it and had a bite. I couldn't wait 😋

We couldn’t believe how small the pastries were when we ordered in person at “Dessert Shop Los Angeles.” We ended up paying nearly $10 for a tiny slice of cheesecake that felt no different from the $3 ones you can grab at the grocery store.

Went to pick up order and found out that they gave my order to a different person. They should have some system to verify that the person who ordered is the actual person picking up the food such as checking receipts, emails, etc. This happened twice here.

An environment of fulfillment with a delicious burst of diversity. Annie's Soul Delicious was my harmonic choice as she and her crew delivered in ACES

I saw the great review on yelp and decided to give it a try. The place is on the main street and it's very hard to find a place to park, and the restaurant is basically a locker room with no seating, just a way for people to order on the machine and pick up food from the locker. However, after placing the order, one of the employee kindly check on a few of us waiting and get the food out to us very quickly, which is much shorter than the expected wait time. And the food is delicious... the vegetable sides were cooked perfectly with lots of favor, the cheese grit wad one of the best I have tasted. The corn bread are buttery, and the oxtail yummy,, savory and tender. I definitely plan to come back again, as long as I can find a parking place that is.
