Did the Dinner + A Movie for 2 and had a blast! Dinner at Bombo was yummy (individual review posted on their Google page). Rooftop team makes it easy to sit back, take in the views, and order treats to your seat. Ordered popcorn incorrectly assuming it would be traditional, freshly popped but it is Angie’s bagged popcorn 🤣 Would recommend bringing your own blanket..might even bring a small pillow next time as the bean bags weren’t as comfortable as I’d anticipated. Overall, such a cool experience I will be doing again! Great with a pal or for a date (beyond the 1st date so you know if you want to spend this much time together 😂)

Rooftop ice skating is a scam and they will not refund. It’s not ice, the synthetic is not properly lubricated so you can’t skate easily or glide easily, they do not carry kid sizes even though they say they do. Do not go!

An experience to remember. Great option for a date night. We purchased the package that offers a meal at the downstairs restaurant and a movie ticket with center row seats. I personally would skip the meal after trying. Nothing special and just fast food quality. You could purchase drinks and snacks via a QR code and enjoy them along with the movie. I recommend bringing a blanket with you since it’s a bit chilly at night. Overall it’s a very romantic experience.

Came here on a sunday afternoon to roller blade. It was for sure an experience and I think everyone should try it, especially, it's on a rooftop! 🛼🌇 #rollerblading #rooftopvibes They added pretty good music! 🎶 And it was just a nice afternoon to relax & have a drink! 🍹 You can get a free churro with the purchase of 1 ticket. And the churro was super good! 😋 I can give this place a 10 at a 10! 💯 #highlyrecommended

WARNING: bring your PHYSICAL ID, I was almost not allowed to enter cuz I thought I didn’t have it with me, they are very strict with physical copy of ID, no photocopy allowed Good ambiance and the sofa was comfortable, it does get chilling at night especially during the winter times, so bring thick jacket or even your own blanket You could order drink and snacks to your table as there is a roof top bar next to it. Great ambiance overall

Nice idea but the movie had technical issues every few minutes ( freezing, buffering, jumping) and the music on the other half of the rooftop is so loud, despite the headphones it's like watching a movie in a club. The food is mediocre and it's absolutely freezing with a small blanket costing $16.

The movie and headphones worked well, but everything else was poorly executed. We froze on beach chairs and tbh the food selection was a joke. They were out of popcorn from the get-go although clearly stated in the FAQs and prices came with a 20% mark-up from the restaurant. Also when you go, be advised that you are not getting a beanbag if you bought a normal ticket. I wouldn’t recommend it on a chilly night, because there is no heating and the service is just not worth the price.

We were honestly shocked at how we were treated upon arrival. My group was judged and criticized at the door for wearing casual clothing and $700 designer slippers—we were almost turned away. Yet, once we got upstairs, we saw other guests wearing flip flops and sweatshirts, which made the whole situation confusing and honestly upsetting. It felt inconsistent and borderline discriminatory. For nearly $100 for three tickets, I expected a much better experience. The chairs were uncomfortable, there were no heaters, and it was freezing cold the entire time. For that price, you’re better off going to a regular theater or drive-in, where you’ll be treated with more respect and at least be comfortable. Not the elevated experience they advertise.

Great view especially if you're into rooftops. Theres a bar attached to the side of the movie venue. The Ceviche was filling. The cocktails were tasty and potent. Would go again.

I came here for a brand event however I was stunned with how cool this location was. A rooftop theater and a bar next to it? Amazing! It gave a retro vintage feel and I loved that you can watch the sunset up here with a great view. I always enjoy locations where you can see most of West Hollywood / Hollywood and this is just amazing. The food from the restaurant was delicious and staff was welcoming. Service at the bar was great and amazing as well (was not part of the event) I would definitely come back to this spot!

We came out for Friday night roller skating at Melrose Rooftop Theatre to celebrate a surprise birthday with friends. It's a fun concept, but the experience left a bit to be desired. We checked in at the front entrance and took the slow-moving elevator up to the rooftop. It wasn't a huge deal, but definitely something that stood out. When we got to the top, we were asked to fill out a waiver on our phones--super quick and easy, but honestly something that could've been done earlier when buying tickets online. Parking in the area was $20 at a lot across the street. Not terrible for a Friday night in LA, but still worth mentioning. Your ticket includes skate rental and one drink, so we grabbed a Paloma (the other option was not available) which hit the spot. Unfortunately, the skating surface was a bit of a letdown--treaded hard plastic mats that didn't offer a smooth ride. It took a lot of effort to move and wasn't beginner-friendly. Plus there was a tricky spot that tripped up more than a few skaters. The biggest surprise was the low energy overall--music was pretty quiet, and the vibe felt more relaxed than festive. We expected more of a party atmosphere for a Friday night rooftop in the heart of LA. It was still fun to do something different and hang out with our group, but unless they upgrade the floor or amp up the energy, it's probably a one-and-done for us. Tips: - Allow extra time for the elevator to the 3rd floor. - $20 parking lot across the street. - 1 Drink included, so grab one and make the most of it!

This event was definitely one of the weirdest experiences I've had in a long time. I was so excited to attend a movie screening here after seeing so many videos on social media. From beginning to end (purchasing tickets to the end of the movie) everything was just so irritating. It truly felt as if it was their first time putting on this event. When we arrived the vibe was a bit awkward. We're just waiting in a crowded small space and when they finally let people inside the screening area it was just a long line in silence. They finally put music on which made the vibes a little less awkward. We ordered our food and were told where our reserved bean bags were. We assumed we would get our drinks early at least which wasn't the case and thought or food would come towards the beginning of the movie as it started later than scheduled. It was a super windy night and the screen was moving like crazy, barricades were falling. We got our head phones and mine didn't work. I had to go back to get a new pair and that pair turned off 3x, so I went back to get another. The girl working was super nice but there was a man there and he made a rude comment to me which really upset me. The actual movie screening was a little off because of the screen moving so much and the bar was blasting their music - it was very distracting. We didn't get our drinks until maybe 9:30, and our food came at almost 10pm and the movie ended around 10:30. We also didn't get our dessert which is supposed to be included in the bean bag dining package. The burger and fries were good but I do not recommend this event, especially the dinner packages. So not worth $64.

The service was awesome!!! The young lady was very kind and sweet to us. Did not experience the theatre but I definitely had a great time roller skating and lounging at the bar afterwards. Wasn't the best flooring to skate on lol but it worked out lol. No complaints about the Casamigos in a can. First time drinking and skating on a rooftop. Weather was also exceptional. And next door, the bar was lit. The atmosphere and vibe were all worth coming out for. Do yourself or yourselves a favor and go. Go on a date or with family and friends. You'll love it fasho fasho. $20 for a ticket to skate with drink included when you book or reserve on the BUCKETLIST APP. Drinks at the rooftop bar/lounge are about $20+. There is street parking , parking lots and a garage all within walking distance of this venue. $20 to park in lot. Around $4 every 15 or 30 mins. And around $3 for 2 hour street parking behind the building.

Came to watch a movie towards the end of May because me and my bf have been wanting to check this place out for ages. We did the dinner for 2 experience and while everything we had was great, we realized the salad and dessert didn't make it to our table. Since it was part of the package and the total was around $130, I reached out to the company but they never responded even after a follow up.

Great first experience! Definitely would do it again the vibes were amazing and the view was beautiful!

There was some missing info about our 2 cocktails but Bruce the manager on duty took care of it right away and even escorted us over to our seats for the rooftop screening -- The Holiday showing on that Friday evening. Tasty cocktails, tho a bit pricey but that's the WeHo vibes. There's valet parking but we found plenty of metered street parking -- 2 hour max @$2/hour, so we did have to move our car since we were there for about 4 hours given The Holiday was 2 hours 45mins long. Lovely evening watching a holiday movie "The Holiday" hehe under the stars. The only thing I would say is.... super loud music playing inside the bar/restaurant gets somewhat distracting while watching the movie on headsets. Otherwise, I would consider coming back for more movie nights.

Really fun experience that we will 100% do again. We got the dinner & movie package, which I highly recommend. The food we got was all good and the wait staff was really pleasant. The menu is short, but everything we tried really tasted good. I can't even say what I liked best because it was all good, but I know my family really like the churro bites that they brought out during the movie. Only thing that could probably be better is the seating during the movie. Be forwarned that it is bean bags, and some seem more full than others since some people were able to sit up more and I was really forced to lay down a little. Space is also tight, so bad news for the 6 footers out there. I, however, am no where near that so it was tight for me but livable.

Overall nice experience! Very cold but they do sell little blankets. Would recommend bringing your own or dressing warm. There is a busy bar next door but they have the headphones and you can turn up the volume very loud and won't hear anything next door. Would go back!

date night!! my boyfriend took me out to watch scarface and we got the dinner beforehand as well. we arrived an hour early but only got through appetizer and main course so dessert was delivered to our beanbags. the food was good but everything was fried so it became very heavy. each person gets 1 appetizer and 1 entree and dessert is split. we had the fried mushrooms and croquettes for apps, the burger and chicken sandwich for main, and churros for dessert. the burger was nice but the chicken sandwich was dry. the churros were a little burnt and lacking some cinnamon. now the movie: they had some tech difficulties and the movie was paused in the beginning. took some time to get it working again. the beanbags are very comfy but maybe a little small for taller people. it did sprinkle a little in the middle of our movie too but it wasn't significant. they give you individual headphones but the bar portion is loud and blasts music which can still be heard we paid $120 for the movie and dinner for 2 people (drinks not included). i wouldn't come again just because of the music being blasted and the food options were limited/all fried except for the taco option. but im glad we checked it out!

I went back today to see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Not as great of an experience as the first time. For some reason the video was shakey. The movie lagged throughout, causing us to miss entire scenes. And then the laptop playing the movie died during the climax. And there was no employee present to help the audience fix it. I do think someone should be on standby. I don't currently have plans of returning until this is managed. 24 hour update: I was able to talk to the staff here and they did help resolve some of my frustration. I do appreciate their quick response to customer satisfaction. And I now have plans to go see another movie in a month and am excited to give it another try!

We were here on the Saturday before Christmas and it was absolutely festive and fun! This was my first rooftop experience & got to watch Elf. We had tickets to the holiday bar downstairs at EP+LP for a couple drinks & we tried both the holiday martini & holiday old manhattan. There's metered street parking generally available & all the bartenders and hosts are kind and helpful with stellar personalities. MRT provides headsets and beanbags & we shared calamari and waffle fries. I would come back!

This is a super cute place for a date or a outing with friends. They give you headphones and you sit on bean bags. You can also order drinks and food during the movie. I highly suggest you bring a blanket!

It's a great concept in the pictures they show make it look amazing but it's just not. NO popcorn or hot chocolate as advertised! Movies without hot buttered popcorn is just sacrilegious. Nothing HOT to drink on a freezing winter's night is also not smart. The blankets they offer you for $15 may offer some warmth on a 65° night but not a 50° night. When they hand you the headphones, they should explain them to you because when they weren't working at the beginning, it was just silly how the man from behind the screen had to come out and walk around and help us with our headphones after the movie started. I could hear the music from the adjoining bar just as much as the movie which was annoying. For the $25 for general admission and $20 to park, it could've been done much better.

I have been here 5 different times and this is the first year they changed things for the worst (so bad). They are now providing lawn chairs paired in two rather than the bean bags and no reserved seats. I paid for 4 seats and they said that I had no guarantee of us sitting together (we had to ask guests to change their seats to sit together). They also provided an extremely limited menu compared to the past, no popcorn and no hot chocolate like the time's before. Not to mention no heaters and the blankets are $15 (it was freezing outside for LA). The food at the establishment is below par anyways (around 3 stars on this app) but they charge a ridiculous premium. I am really sad because this was a fun tradition for my friends and I for the holidays but we will not be returning.

Overpriced af! Mediocre food and drinks with terrible headphones that don't work half of the time. Sure the place is aesthetically pleasing and the ambiance makes for a great night out but honestly would not recommend this place. Take your money elsewhere.

4 stars for the outdoor movie vibe and experience! Overall it was a super fun time. Saw Mamma Mia and was late booking our tickets so we had to grab the dinner + movie option. Honestly dinner is a hard pass for me. It's a fun idea I just wish the food was better executed. We live in LA where amazing food is constantly at our finger tips. The food was mediocre to say the least. It's a prefixed menu with two options for starters, two options for entrees, and one for dessert. Let's start with the starters (lol) you get either a poké style ahi tuna w/ tostada chips to eat it or a salad. Now I don't like fish so I passed on that but my friend said it was fine. The salad had good flavor but I wish it was iceburg or romaine instead of frisée. The entree was meh. The pasta while yummy was nothing to write home about. The steak was BEYOND fatty. If that's your thing go for it, but let's just say it was NOT great in our books. Dessert was cheesecake and very yummy. Probably the best part but beware you will have to share. For some reason they have deemed it to be a 1 per every 2 people kinda deal? Idk seemed like they cheaped out on us there. The service was nice enough! But do beware that they charge $2.00 for water service?? I can pour my own water??? Also cocktails are $21. Even for LA that hurt. Now the movie set up is super cute and definitely worth going to!! Comfy bean bags, individual headsets, a insta worthy views/backgrounds galore. Beware concessions are pricey (but so is normal movies in general). Bring a blanket & even a pillow if you wanna get cozy. I will say that my friend accidentally spilled her drink on herself towards the beginning of the movie, bought a box of candy to flag down a server to ask for a napkin and they never gave her a napkin (she asked two different servers) So service could be better in that regard. Especially since they say to stay seated and not approach the bar once the movie has started (they have online ordering for in movie service).

A fun experience that is probably best with general admission and no package more elaborate than that. I visited MRT on Easter Sunday, having purchased my tickets online. I finished dinner downstairs at Bombo around 7 and headed up, completely forgetting the doors to the theater side of the rooftop don't open until 7:30. Luckily, the hostess at the bar was so sweet and lead me over to a roped off area where I could hangout. At 7:30, I headed over. There was already a trio ahead of me, but I was able to snag the beanbags I wanted. GA chooses from whatever isn't already reserved--it seems like they seat reserved folks in the back and leave the front/front-middle for GA, which was actually perfect. It didn't feel close at all. I had some churros from Bombo and I don't drink, so I didn't miss the snacks or cocktails that were for sale. The prices seemed high, but movie theater-high--I think popcorn was like $10, but I'm not sure about portion size. The beanbags were clean and super comfy. Definitely bring a blanket! They charge you to use theirs. Overall, a super cute event space, fun for a girls or date night.

Wore my heavy autumn clothes to stay warm in the chilly rooftop air...it was not enough. We left early. The chilly air was kicking our A** The Baja fish tacos were supreme. Can't remember the name of my iced cocktail. The seats were comfy. The customer service was swell. If possible bringing a giant duvet next time.

From start to finish, we had a great time! We decided to do the dinner + movie for 50 pp. Dinner included 3 courses, 2 options between the appetizer and the main course then a cheesecake to share. Choices for food were: Appetizer: Spicy Ahi Tuna w/avocado and tomatoes + Tostada OR Salad with golden beets, raisins, and some additional greens (Go with the Ahi Tuna) Entre: Rigatoni pasta with tomato sauce + basil Steak with French fries and a salad side (My preference and my boyfriends preference was the rigatoni pasta. The steak was pretty chewy and had a lot of fat on it but if you like chewy and fatty go for it) . Dessert: Cheesecake with raspberries (absolutely delicious, just sad we only got 1) I'd rate the dinner at 3/5 in general The best was the upstairs rooftop set up and views. Drinks and snacks are pretty pricey at $8 for popcorn, $6 for candy, $20 a cocktail, $14 for their cheapest wine, and food pricing at $12-20 (nothing fancy here - tacos, burgers, fries) . Cocktails weren't very strong we definitely needed a few to have a slight buzz. Overall though we loved the vibe, the food was good, and the customer service was on par. We're recommending friends to go and to join for the next visit.

If you haven't been to The Melrose Rooftop Theatre, I highly recommend trying this unique outdoor movie experience. The theater is on the rooftop of the same building shared with E.P. & L.P. The Theatre shows your favorite classic movies until November. Entry starts at 630pm but the movie starts at sundown. While waiting, you can enjoy the spectacular sunset and the magnificent views of the city. If feeling hungry or thirsty before or during the movie, there's a full bar on site that sells some drinks and snack boxes. However, I find the prices a little steep so I would suggest grabbing a chicken sandwich for $10 as opposed to $6 popcorn. Or get the dinner and movie combo for a three course dinner at E.P. & L.P. As soon as you come in, you'll be handed with individual wireless headsets. You get to choose your own seats made of beanie bags. Some find it uncomfortable but I actually did like it. I felt like watching in the comfort of my own home slumped lazily in my couch. I went to see Stand By Me which I heard was a really good movie but never had the chance to see it before coming here. I ended liking not just the movie but the entire experience in general. I'd like to come back before it ends in November.

Overall great experience. Only complaints are that they advertise popcorn on their website and don't sell popcorn?! The biggest bummer of the night honestly... people loved popcorn and a movie... If I had known I would've brought my own... definitely bring your own snacks they only had regular m&ms, Mike and ikes, starburst, sour patch kids and Reese's for candy. Also bring a blanket don't spend $15 buying one. And the bean bags are so close to the people in front/behind you you can't comfortably stretch your legs out at all.

I actually was fortunate to attend an event here via Yelp* for a Tuesday night showing of 'King Pin'. Strange since I was around during this time for this movie, I never heard of it. Bowling and comedy? How did I miss out? Parking was easy (& less than what I had expected) right next door, and we made our way up, where we were directed to the left onto a different part of the rooftop where I've never been. Chairs were lined up facing the screen towards our right, and there was a bar on the left side behind the seats. We quickly grabbed two seats and ordered popcorn from the back. Moments later, we came back for the waffle fries. Yeah, drinks were not enough for us; we actually Eat... Seats were actually not too bad, and there were blankets which we were grateful for later on since a slight chill was in the air, even though it was still humid. The headphones provided had no issues, and everyone seemed to be content (meaning, not on their phones). Obviously some people got up and left during but this didn't distract from our visit. I would do another movie here (the very next night had one of my favorites, Ex Machina) but I'm glad I got to see this movie I've never seen before with a friend and fellow yelpers. Even if we didn't meet, I know you were all still there enjoying the night. *If I need to move this review to the appropriate page, please let me know so I can do so.

As soon as my friend and I walked up we were yelled at by the manager, BRUCE. We parked in the garage below and simply walked up the stairs to the rooftop, thinking that was the entrance since there was no signage indicating otherwise. We walked through and this guy BRUCE walks up to us and starts asking us why we're there, trying to check our IDs, and basically belittling us. He said "the entrance is at the front, which is clearly something you should know." How would I know that if I just parked my car and walked up the steps? He said us entering through there was "like entering the kitchen in a restaurant, so rude." Like dude relax, if you're the manager of this place you would think that you'd want to make a good impression. DONT COME HERE

Brilliant! 1. Great location. On left if traveling north on La Cienega between Bev Ctr and Sunset across from Fig n Olive. 2. Valet parking is in the same building complex. Enter on La Cienega. Easy and affordable $12, and much needed as the metered street parking goes fast and the surrounding neighborhood parking requires permits. 3. The views are awesome! Both from the rooftop bar if you divulge before or after the movie in some drinks music and people time. Great seating options, lots of heat lamps, good drink options and light food as needed. The views from the movie area are delightful too. Nothing like watching a huge projection screen surrounded by Hollywood Hills city lights. All I could say was "Priceless. Where else can you get all this plus great weather? I'm never leaving LA." 4. Drinks and snacks during movie. They have a bar in the movie area! Brilliant and nice break if you can't sit still too long. 5. Seating is first come first served so come at 7 when it opens and reserve your seat if you bought the dine plus movie tix. I arrived late and it was sold out and there were 12-15 seats open. Mostly in the very back near the door to the entrance which goes to the rooftop bar which is very loud so it can be hard to focus. But in the end it was ok. We arrived almost 30 mins late to the movie and still enjoyed it. The seats are bean bag like wide arm chairs minus the arms and feet. They give you Bluetooth headphones and a warm wool blanky. Super comfy but if you have back issues or trouble getting up from very low to the ground seats bring help. 6. Weather. I went on 5/14/18 and 6/7/18 and it was 64 degrees out. There is glass surrounding the rooftop, which helps, but wise to dress warm if you're one to get cold easily. I wore jeans, converse, a long sleeve warmly lined top, a Walmart type puffy vest and puffy jacket to cover my upper body and the blanket for my lower body. I was just warm enough to be warm vs fall asleep lol! I gather it'll be really nice as the weather gets warmer. 7. You can bring water or snacks if you have a nice size purse and need it (Eg diabetic, pregnant, etc) although if pregnant not sure how comfy those seats will be lol 8. Dinner. I skipped dinner and regret it. The building is several stories. First level entrance. Second was the dining section which was sexy dim and had great energy. Heard the food is actually pretty good specifically the chicken sandwich. Going to go back and eat before the movie! 9. Sound and tickets. Buy tickets in advance, it sells out every time. Dinner is worth the price as is parking. You get headphones that are small and if your hair isn't flush or you have a hat on it'll be hard to use them. Be prepared (Ie no hats, if you have dreads or braids a wig or a high bun it could be awkward.) 10. Kids/minors. It's 21 and over as they sell alcohol.

This was my first time at the rooftop theatre and purchased the VIP tickets that came with dinner and reserved seats. The entrance to the theatre is by the entrance to the rooftop bar that is super cute and definitely has a hipster vibe. I didn't spend any time on that side as the theatre area had its own bar and snacks you could get. They also had a small menu to order food and they deliver it to your bean bags. The staff writes your name on a small table next to your bean bags that also come with a small blanket big enough to share with two people. Luckily, the weather was nice and cool so the blanket was nice to use but wasn't absolutely necessary the night I went. These events are hosted by Tinder so they have a cute neon sign that says, "Love At First Swipe" next to the bar. Headphones are also provided and can go up to a pretty high volume which blocks out most of the noise from the city and bar next door. It seems like we were sitting next to some vents that I could still hear through my headphones, but that didn't take away too much from my experience. Definitely would suggest this as a cute date night idea as they show new and old movies!

Such great experience, loved it but definitely take your blanket. It gets pretty cold. As for service they try, the staff are very friendly and nice but there is an area of improvement but overall great experience

Overpriced movie theatre. The bean bag chairs are nothing to brag about. They don't even have real buttered popcorn... bring bug spray because you will get bitten.. sub par...

First time experiencing this venue. Easy enough to find. Parking on the street is metered and it's only for 2 hours then have to feed the meter again. You can arrive an hour before movie starts. We did dinner and movie. Its a small fixed menu..you get an appetizer, entree and desert. We got seated in a small area with tables and chairs, music was playing. Service was slow and inconsistent. Food was not good at all. We got the burger and chicken sandwhich..his was cold and mine was burnt. Drinks were overpriced...a tiny diet coke and beer was $20. Because service was slow We missed the beginning of the movie and didn't order dessert. They did bring the dessert (cold hard churro bites) to us during the movie. The movie portion was ok..bean bag looked dirty and not overly comfortable but ok for a 90 minute movie #Clueless

Came here for the first time & loved it. Very comfy chairs. Good sound in head phones and they even have big 2-person couches, a couple of them. Worth trying at least once. Bathroom is far from seating area which kinda sucks. They do sell popcorn/snacks or you can get dinner there beforehand. Seems like street parking only. Tix are a bit pricy. I came for an event.

It was a cute date night, by the time we arrived there were no more seats and they pulled some out to accommodate us. We chose the dinner and movie option, food was decent but could probably go for just the movie experience next time since it is a little pricey. Would recommend for a cute little date night

This place was well thought out. An amazing and different experience. We selected the movie and dinner package. We were assigned these comfortable oversized bean bags. They brought us burgers and rigatoni and a salad. For dessert the options were cheesecake or popcorn and candy. The view overlooked the city of LA and the hills. Absolutely beautiful. Your table has a QR code so you can order and pay for drinks and they are delivered to your seat. Everyone gets headphones so the you get a great sound experience. There is a parking garage or street parking available. This is a must when visiting LA.

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone @ Melrose Rooftop! This place is definitely a cozy, romantic, relaxing date vibe. The weather was perfect since it was a hot day so a light jacket and a throw blanket were all I needed. Everyone was friendly, the setup and screen was easily visible. Bean bags are okay they don't stay up so you have to lay down no back support. We ordered a few sides, (popcorn, cris cross fries, fish tacos) all good. Now my favorite was the drink I ordered. It was a mix of vodka, raspberry, and other flavors with this whipped topping on it, Delicious! Although it was $22 I would and did order another one. Overall a lovely night, would come back and recommend for sure!

This is a true LA experience! We decided to do the dinner+movie combo. With that you order from a preselected menu. I selected the spicy tuna, rigatoni, and then the cheese cake for dessert (all pictured). I thought everything was fabulous, especially for the price! The movie was saw was A Star is Born. The food on the rooftop is pretty pricey: $8 for a thing of popcorn. However, we ordered a few things to share. Would recommend going for the cheeseburger, as they also come with the best waffle fries ($13). It does get chilly on the rooftop, so I would recommend bringing a jacket to stay warm. They also sell blankets there for $10. Overall a great LA experience! Will definitely be back before the summer is over.

Honestly was so excited to try this place out because of all the hype it gets but was super disappointed. Me and my husband got the dinner and movie for 130$ and it was not worth it at all! The food was so mid, the burger tastes like McDonalds and the chicken is overly breaded. The fries were good but they taste like the waffle fries you get at Carl's Jr.They also give you water, no beverage included which sucks for something that is expensive. After eating they give you your dessert while watching the movie, the churros were probably the most stale churros I've ever had in my life. They were cut up in ridiculously small pieces and cold. The movie was ok and the screen to watch the movie was so dirty and couldn't see the movie clear at all. This place should at least provide heaters outside to keep us warm. We had to leave early. Don't recommend.

Absolutely lovely. The food is delicious, the drinks at the bar next door are fun, and the view is amazing. Also the movie quality and the service is excellent. We will be returning

I've been to the EPLP bar before but never event noticed or thought of the space next to it to be utilized as an outdoor movie area. The set up is SO cute, everything from a cute neon sign, to the bar set up and the 'seats' *upgraded bean bag chairs), to the beautiful views of LA and the sunset. I also forgot a jacket so I loved that they offer a blanket, and the seat comes with personal headphones to listen to the movie through. It's a great date spot but maybe not for a first date since it's kind of like you're own experience (I guess you could move the side table and put the chairs together, but overall I'd say great for a 2nd or 3rd date. Parking is crappy, we paid $10 in the lot adjacent to the bar but it is what it is. My real qualm with this whole night was that we paid $15 for a half pour of rose. I wanted to say something but didn't want to sour a really great first impression of the whole evening so I kept to myself but it took me all of 3 sips to finish the glass- for that price point, I was unimpressed.

Chris and I went to E.P. & L.P. for a typical dinner-and-a-movie date night, but it was a not-so-typical experience. "Melrose Rooftop Cinema". We walked into the 2nd floor dining area and enjoyed dinner at the chef's table. The experience comes with a 3-course meal. Chris and I shared one of each choice for the appetizer, entrée, and dessert so we could try it all. Sticky spare ribs - pork ribs, 5 spice caramel, pickled serrano and chili, roasted rice. The ribs were tender but had a crispy exterior. Really good. But the level upper? The sauce! I asked our waiter to leave the plate at our table so I could keep the sauce to eat everything else with. Heirloom tomato - ginger endive, cilantro, sesame, tamarind. I love anything with heirloom tomatoes and this dish was no exception. The tamarind flavors really worked well with the fresh heirloom tomatoes. Lou Dogg's crispy skin chicken - farm chicken with black vinegar, chili, and lemon. Perfectly crispy. Make sure you squeeze the lemon on, it makes a difference. HUGE portion. Plenty to share. Green vegetable curry - grilled baby fennel, Romanesco, delicata squash, green chili, and thai basil. Very flavorful, thai curry. The delicata squash really stood out. Same texture as jackfruit and reminded me of a jackfruit dish I had in the Philippines. Really good! Mango pudding - toasted coconut ice cream, citrus tapioca, puffed rice. THIS DESSERT is one of the best I've ever had. The toasted coconut worked so well with the citrus tapioca--and the puffed rice added the texture it needed to balance everything out. Can't wait to have it again. Ginger crunchie - chocolate covered honeycomb, ginger crystals. I've never had chocolate covered honeycomb, but I started to wonder why this isn't already "a thing". So good. The ginger crystals on top really completed the dish. After dinner we headed to the rooftop bar and enjoyed a couple more drinks before the movie started. The rooftop bar was poppin, the crowd was beautiful, and the décor is Instagram-worthy, lol. We walked into the theater section to find our seats. If you choose to enjoy dinner + movie, they reserve your seats in the front section (couches for VIP or lawn chairs) so you don't have to rush through your food. The backdrop of the screen - palm trees and the Hollywood Hills. Gorgeous. They welcome you into the cinema section by handing each guest a pair of wireless headsets and a blanket! So awesome! We watched a classic "Point Break" which worked out because 1) Chris loves that movie and 2) I had never seen it before! We had a great time and I can't wait to go back. Came in on a Sunday night for the dinner and rooftop cinema. I highly recommend parking in their valet ($12) lot because finding street parking is a struggle, at least on a Sunday night. My partner and I ordered from their preselect menu because of the dinner+movie option. To start we had short ribs and a heirloom sesame tomato salad. Short ribs 3.5/5 the flavors of this dish were good- little sweet and savory. At times it could be a little too sweet, so I'd suggest cutting the meat in half to get a better ratio. Some pieces had a nice crust from being charred and soft interior. Overall good, just not as tender as I'd prefer (not falling off the bone) and some pieces were a little dry (use the sauce to help). 3/5 heirloom tomato salad was okay. It was pretty much just chopped up heirloom tomatoes, some sesame seeds, a sauce and a little bit of a green vegetable-maybe cabbage. Pretty straightforward. Next was the curry and fried chicken 4/5Curry was pretty good. It had a decent assortment of vegetables- carrots, artichokes, asparagus, carrots, and something similar to a pickled daikon. It had the nice green curry flavor with a little tanginess. 3/5 the chicken was a solid portion couple dark meat pieces and couple white meat pieces. Some of the white meat pieces flirted with being dry. The crispiness of the chicken was on point and. I was not a fan of the black bean paste dipping sauce, but that's personal preference. Last was dessert. They ran out of the mango dessert on the preselected menu so we received chocolate ice cream with some toffee bits and a peanut butter type of homemade candy topped with a raspberry gel. The peanut butter dessert was a little too decadent, but still good. The chocolate ice cream was the right amount of sweetness. The service was good except for a moment. The busboys were great and waiter was probably spread a little thin. Waters were always refilled and plates were taken away. One of the waiters told us that a bowl of steamed rice was on the way, but I had to ask about it after waiting 5mins and I could tell that they had forgotten. Dinner was a good experience, but I don't believe I would order any of items again. The movie concept is a good idea, but there were some cons. One is you have to wear headphones to combat the noise of Los Angeles and the rooftop bar. Another is it can get cold. They provide blankets, but on a colder day those blankets wouldn't do the job. Lastly, the attendant who was suppose to show people at our seats was not there because she was helping another guest. They should definitely have two people there or better signage about waiting for someone to help you. When she came back she hustled a group of 4-6 couples back out because none of us had headphones and just walked in. She tried to help us, but went out of order and skipped my partner and I twice over. At one point she asked for my group name. Then proceeded to help the group behind me and then another group behind them. Pretty poor service towards my partner and I, but I would maybe attribute it to her being overwhelmed.

I love the decorations, I love that they pass out blankets and the headphones are actually really good!!! I was soo comfy that I actually fell asleep watching the movie ! Haha! it's just overall a fun & cute experience. Especially in the LA weather. I think the only sucky thing is there is no access to a closer bathroom & it's only a bar maybe they should offer hot cocoa or tea on cold nights & popcorn!

This place is super fun. This is our second time here, our first time being last summer and our second time being last week for the showing of "Coyote Ugly." Super comfy beanbag chairs and blankets available to rent (we brought our own). Last time we were a bit cold, so I would recommend bringing or renting a blanket and bringing a jacket. They have food and drinks of all kinds which they bring to you in our seat. Overall, a super fun summer activity and one of our new favorite places to go when visiting LA.

Can -21yo go up there for the movie? i saw on the website 21+ but idk if it's just for the bar or everything

The atmosphere was super cool on top of the roof over looking the city. But what kind of a "movie theater" doesn't sell popcorn?!! Or they might have run out of popcorn from all of their one movie a day. It was fun watching a movie on the roof but the food/service is below basic

It's a great vibe and picture place but def not worth the price tag. Let's start with the bean bag chairs being wet/moist so it's already going to be uncomfortable. The tinder blankets are cool but then I started thinking about the moist bean bag and the blanket and if it were used or sanitized well enough. The popcorn was flavorless and dry, not with the $9 price tag. Overall, a great vibe if you are into the set up of watching the movie.

This place is badass! Summer evenings spent watching cult classics under the stars... I aint mad! Do expect some windy nights since you're on the rooftop, it does catch a draft at times. It's best to be prepared and bring a light jacket. Note that they do provide Tinder branded blankets for each seat too. They have super comfy bean bags and headsets for you to lay back and watch the flick. Very straightforward and well thought out. You have plenty of leg space in front of you to sprawl out and your partner seat beside you is separated by a small coffee table for your phone, snacks, drinks etc. Not cuddle friendly lol, but still cool. The cool part about this location is that you can do drinks at their bar (which is connected on the rooftop) before or after the screening. There's also dinner options downstairs. Everything you need in one evening placed into the same building. I love this place so much!!! Def coming back. I won some tickets to come here with a friend! So glad I did because I think tickets are a bit overpriced at $30 that doesn't include food and you couldn't bring any in (unless you sneak some in your purse). The view is so gorgeous overlooking the hollywood hills. They start the movie at sunset and there's very comfy bean bag chairs to sit in as well as a blanket which is nice and different from the Cinespia movies. It's very instagram-abale, I guess because it's sponsored by Tinder. There's lots of places where you can take cute pics. I didn't order any food but the food looked super yummy! I saw they had a chicken sandwich with waffle fries. It was also pretty bumpin for a Tuesday night since when we left lots of people were outside at the normal outside bar area. It would be a really cute date spot!

Parking for this place is $10 which is great for LA. We got the $60 a person VIP deal that included a three course meal and the movie. Dinner tasted amazing and we were seated right away. We finished our food a little early before the movie so we hung out at the bar on top. Drinks are very expensive. Average around $16 a drink. The view was beautiful and the DJ was playing good music. Finally was let in to the actual theater side, it was aesthetic to the eye and very roomy. Bean bags weren't as comfortable as expected, but overall the experience was different and wearing the headphones was very cool. Would definitely go again, but wish it was a little more affordable. Definitely recommend to go to this at least once. Perfect date environment.
