Mel's Drive-In - Review - Downtown - Nashville - The Infatuation

"This chain out of California opened its first location outside of the state right off Broadway, and it’s a retro assault on the senses. Alongside the classic American cars and the flashing jukebox, there are patty melts, angus beef burgers, meatloaf, malts, and good old-fashioned milkshakes." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Our first time to Mel’s. We love that they chose Nashville. Loved the atmosphere. Food was good portion size. My husband got the meatloaf, recommended. The carrots were a nice bonus. I got the patty melt. First time ever ordering that. It was very tasty. Couldn’t finish it, very rich. Loved borrowing my husband’s gravy for the fries. Shared a short stack of pancakes for dessert. The decaf coffee was the best I’ve had at a diner. Or any restaurant for that matter. The pancakes were fluffy and smelled like a funnel cake. And they have fresh juices! We will be back for sure! Btw, they’ve only been open for three weeks. It is empty now but when it catches on the line we’ll be out the door. So come sooner rather than later. Blake was very attentive! Thanks buddy!

We needed a good breakfast in Nashville, and went to a specific place that has a waiting time of an hour. I will not wait an hour for a breakfast, no matter how good. We ended up here, at Mel’s, and it was a good option. Waited about 5 minutes, and we were ready to eat. The place looks great. Nice vibes. Very big and modern- old fashion style. I liked it. The prices are acceptable. The food was good. Everything tastes fresh. I wanted more special sauce on my burger for additional flavor, but wasn’t bad. The coffee was good as well, and the service great. I recommend this place.

Shortly after we arrived we were greeted by the grandson of the founder of Mel’s. Then Blake was our waiter and took great care of us. The food was great, and of course I had to have a chocolate shake, which did not disappoint. The decor was a great blend of Mel’s historic theme as well as a modern feel that fits Nashville. Great atmosphere, we’ll be back… and if you’re reading this, you should get here too!

Mel’s Drive-In has officially expanded to Nashville from California for its very first out-of-state location—and the Grand Opening is Saturday, September 26th! To celebrate, they’re rolling back prices to 1947 with 50¢ Smash Burgers all day long 🍔✨ We’re lucky to welcome such a legendary family burger diner to Music City. Take it from me—you won’t be disappointed. From the mouthwatering menu and top-notch service to the desserts that seal the deal, Mel’s is the real thing! 📍 Location: 152 2nd Ave. N Nashville, TN 37201 Come hungry, leave happy—see you there! #NashvilleEats #MelsDriveIn #SmashBurgers #GrandOpening #NashvilleDining #Diner #Delicious

Really cute CLEAN friendly place! I wanted something healthy and the avocado toast was perfect! Good cofffee too! My husband had the hangover help her juice which was also really healthy a little spicy!

Cool new diner by Category 10. The Patty melt is fabulous and Blake was an outstanding waiter. Make sure to ask for him when you go in.

Mel’s was great, impeccably clean, with fast service! Would highly recommend! The chicken and waffles were amazing. Staff went above and beyond to make our brunch enjoyable. Will return when in Nashville!

Guys trip to Nashville. We popped into Mel’s for lunch on opening day and were treated like absolute royalty. Steve and Colton (Mel’s son and Grandson) made us feel like family and made many trips to our table for some good old fashioned salt of the earth conversation. The mozzarella sticks are next level. Batter dipped vs the standard breaded sticks you can get anywhere. Mel’s Smash burger was top notch: Danny the bartender is an absolute talent. I’m normally not deviating from Coors Lights. He convinced me to try the Pickelada Blood Mary, featuring Donna’s Pickled Beer. The best! We all agreed Mel’s is our crew’s official Nashville spot for years to come!
