"Melt Ice Creams was born in Fort Worth and has built a strong fanbase by offering small batch dairy, non-dairy, gluten-free, and plant-based ice creams. The Peanut Butter Explosion mixes peanut butter ice cream with chocolate peanut butter candy, caramel, and chocolate syrup, which is a hefty serving of childlike wonder. It also creates seasonal flavors that are only available for a limited time." - Courtney E. Google
Delicious ice cream flavors!! We tried the TX lavender honey crunch and salt lick flavors. Would recommend! Their ice cream is soft and creamy. Came inside on a whim from the hot summer air and had a great tasting experience!

Update. The owner professionally followed -up on my first visit to MELT. I have since been back many times. Customer Service reigns supreme for me. I felt the associates energy for their position and was greeted with smiles each time. The ice cream flavors have been spot on. The vanilla waffle cone is delish but very delicate. Great stuff that has hit the spot each time. From neutral rating to 5-stars. Keep doing the right thing. Thanks!

Google
The ice cream here had been melted before and refrozen. Not freezer burned just had an ice taste on the top, from transit maybe. After that it was pretty good. The amount of ingredients in here were abundant and the flavor was giving creamy, rich, and buttery. You could taste them all. I’d definitely recommend it. If you’re used to store bought and generic this is not for you. Happy tasting!

Google
I’m from out of town. Just strolled one day and decided to go to the closest ice cream shop in the Bishop District. Wow! … wow, wow, WOW!!! The creamiest, thickest, flavor packed ice cream I’ve probably ever tasted! And very decently priced for 2 scoops too??? I don’t see that a lot where I’m from. Each bite was absolute ✨bliss✨ Definitely try the Maple Bourbon Pecan ice cream. You won’t be disappointed 😉

Google
Cute ice cream shop with creative flavors. Definitely the best tasting homemade ice cream that I’ve had in a very long time conveniently located on a strip where you can get a small bit of ice cream walk up and down the strip look at local shops and experience a really nice day.

Google
The best ice ream in the area. All the flavors are delicious!!! We had the rocky road on a cone and the peanut butter explosion and we ate every bit of it! The strawberry ice cream topped with pineapple is also worth 5 stars. The service was also fantastic. Definitely coming back!!!

Google
Best ice cream in Dallas! My favorite for sure is the dark chocolate!

Google
This place is very cute, and the ice cream is excellent to boot! I had a cup of a seasonal flavour - the Lemon Blueberry Pie. Very refreshing for a summer's afternoon! The service here was very attentive and the ice cream is well-priced. The swivel stool I sat on in-store was fairly wobbly but that doesn't detract from the main reason that you'd come here: delicious ice cream! 🍦

Elizabeth O.

Yelp
Cute place, small but they have outdoor seating. Maybe opt for a scoop in a cup instead of a cone, my broke within the first few licks and it became a little messy to eat, but I won't hold that against them. They have a unique variety of flavors! I'd come back again

Melissa M.

Yelp
Dude, this was legit delicious! I got a sundae cup with chocolate, pie crust, chocolate sprinkles, and hot fudge. It was to die for. The storefront is tiny, but luckily there weren't many people inside. The store was cute, quaint, and clean. The staff was very nice and attentive. It really took a few minutes to place my order and have it made. I look forward to coming back in the future

Dan G.

Yelp
I love melt ice cream. It is just creamy and delicious. You can always try any flavor before coming to any one and they give you big ole scoops. For me, it's the cookie dough and the chocolate sprinkle rimmed cone that are just rich and luscious in flavor. If you have a sweet tooth and love a good treat Melt has you covered. Be sure to try the different flavors but you may find it hard to choose one over another. This one is in the bishop arts area and is a fairly small space. Even with a line you get by pretty quick. Free parking is hard to come by in the area on busy days but there is a paid lot nearby.

Yelp
After every meal, I have to have something sweet, and luckily we saw Melt Ice Creams on the way to our car. This small little ice cream shop in the Bishop Art District had some fun flavors! We got to sample a few and I ended up getting a scoop of the Texas Lavender Honey Crunch. Funny enough, I'm not usually a lavender fan for flavor but love it in ice cream, especially combined with honey. The staff was friendly and we got our ice cream promptly. We enjoyed our ice cream outside and, although there wasn't much crunch from the honey, I did get a bite of it every now and then and it was the best surprise. A great lil ice cream stop in the area!

Brooklyn R.

Yelp
Yummy ice cream spot in a prime location in the Bishop Arts District. They have an array of seasonal flavors, want to come back and try them all. We tried seasonal flavors, Texas Lavender Crunch (filled with chunks of housemate honeycomb candy) and Lemon Blueberry Pie as a Melt Shake. I loved the Texas Lavender Crunch- it's similar to the Van Leeuwen honeycomb flavor, but even more creamy, with crunchier honeycomb, and a delicious lavender flavor. Seating available inside this cute shop, and quick service.

Arran D.

Yelp
This was where my boyfriend and I had our first date, so it will always be special to me. However, the store itself is wonderful and the ice cream is phenomenal. I highly recommend the (seasonal) flavor lavender honey crunch, but everything I have had from here is nothing short of addicting. It is in Bishop Arts, so the parking is stressful and/or costly, but you can stick around for a while and peruse other shops, so it's worth it. The service is always prompt and goes without issue. Definitely some of the best ice cream in Dallas!

sanjana m.

Yelp
This place didn't lie when they said it was the happiest ice cream place in Texas! Service was pleasant, for such a small place I still got to try all the flavors that I wanted. It was very well decorated, had a nice ambiance!

Lina G.

Yelp
Overpriced for what it is and it's poorly served. My cup was covered in melted ice cream when the staff handed it over to me, so I had to eat it quick! As I was paying, someone walked in demanding a new cone because it had broken and fallen on the ground. The quick melting effect must have softened the cone and caused it to break. FINAL THOUGHTS: good ice cream and the flavors are unique... but I'm not rushing to go back.

Victoria P.

Yelp
The ice cream store provided a delightful experience on a warm Thursday afternoon. Despite just starting her shift, the server was kind and engaging. The cookie dough ice cream was a highlight, boasting a generous amount of cookie dough chunks that made each scoop thoroughly enjoyable. With no line in sight, the small shop offered a cozy atmosphere perfect for indulging in a sweet treat. Highly recommended for a refreshing and satisfying ice cream experience.

David M.

Yelp
If you are walking around the bishop arts district in Dallas and you have a sweet tooth you owe it to yourself to go into melt. The ice cream is super delicious and makes for a great snack while you are walking and shopping around the district. Service was excellent and we got to try all of the different flavors we wanted. Can't wait to go back again to try more flavors.

Kate P.

Yelp
Service is great! Staff is very friendly and kind. The ice cream is not good - there are a lot of ice crystals in the ice cream. You can taste how the ice cream thawed and re-froze. It's honestly a shame because the flavors are great but the ice crystals water it down. I probably won't go there again.

Becca P.

Yelp
Staff was extremely rude stating "the bathroom is closed" during open hours. When asked why, she responded "cause I just cleaned it". What? They didn't close for 2 hours and we were paying customers.

Remy V.

Yelp
My grandma wanted ice cream and the place we originally wanted to go was closed today so we headed here. The selection of ice cream is very minimal and they have a couple flavors I've never seen before. My husband got the Berry Berry Pie which is a combination of 4 different berries and pie crust. I thought since there was so many berries that it would have a very rich berry flavor - it did not. The berries were very faint in the ice cream but it was still decent. I ordered the Cookie Crush, and I assumed it would taste like cookies and cream but I was wrong about that too; the cookies are chopped very finely but it tasted like it was just a chocolate chip ice cream. Sadly I was disappointed with it and didn't even finish it. Grandma got the Peanut Butter Explosion and she said she enjoyed it. The only reason I'm giving Melt 3 stars is because I love the yellow and black aesthetic, it's very cheery and clean. I also liked how kind the server was who gave us our ice cream. Taste wise, I'm sorry it just didn't do it for me.

Jannifer K.

Yelp
If you're in Bishop Arts, visiting Melt is a must! I stopped in after eating at a nearby restaurant recently and was wowed by the variety of flavors on the menu. Although the spot is mostly standing room inside, the staff was friendly, gave plenty of recommendations as well samples and I eventually settled on trying a small of their lavendar honeycomb flavor. It was a bit sweeter than what I tried in the sample (I think I got a lot more honeycomb in my serving) but I was just jazzed that I got to find and try such an interesting flavor and get a dessert to cool myself off. The pricing was also reasonable (~$5 for a small). I'll be back!

Kelly M.

Yelp
Birthday cake ice cream was so good I definitely recommend, staff was very helpful and welcoming!

Victoria W.

Yelp
Came here after eating brunch with a friend - we made the right choice! I got cookie crush - homemade chocolate cookies with vanilla ice cream! The portion size for a small was decently big for one person & I love how creamy the ice cream was :) would come again to try out their sometimes flavor!

Olivia B.

Yelp
Definitely check this place out if you are strolling around Bishop Arts on a hot day! They have a wide variety of unique ice cream flavors and the service is always great. The last time we visited, I tried the peach rose sorbet. It was a refreshingly fun treat!

Alex B.

Yelp
Make sure to ask at the counter what options they have as not all are listed on the board! Only 2 options in the board were dairy free, but when asked they told us they had 4 available for that day: cookies and cream, brown sugar pistachio, dark chocolate, and cashew cocoa nibs. It was definitely good ice cream, but I was really hoping it would be powerful flavors but they were all very subtle. Not a crazy different between cookies and cream, brown sugar, and cashew- so a little disappointed but nice for a refresher when it's warm out :)

Ashley L.

Yelp
Super cute ice cream shop in a great walkable location. Parking is tricky if you are only coming for this place, but if you don't mind walking around in bishop arts, it's a sweet treat while you're there. There are several options. It's more of a to-go operation since there isn't much seating, but the waffle cone and ice cream will definitely have me coming back!

Clarissa B.

Yelp
You deserve to treat yourself a little sometimes This was the perfect spot for ice cream. I tried a candy bar flavor, I think Reese's, and also Cup of Texas, which is coffee flavored. Cup of Texas is my fav flavor

Abra B.

Yelp
A-MAZING. The scoops are big, the flavors are full bodies and the ice cream is smooth. There are tons of options and the pricing seems good. I will be back here over and over again.

Adrie S.

Yelp
Stopped by this cute little ice cream shop while spending the day in Bishop Arts District. We were craving a sweet treat and this place was perfect! I love the bright yellow designs. Perfect for instagram pics. A small shop but great to grab n' go. I got the Cup of Texas which is a creamy coffee ice cream made from a locally source Avoca Coffee, Noir roast. It's perfectly rich and milky. My friend ordered the Cookie Crack which is a creamy vanilla ice cream with homemade dark chocolate cookies mixed in. They offer some great vegan options! I've sampled the Velvet Vegan which is a smooth and rich dark chocolate coconut based ice cream. Depending on the season, they will sometimes offer Tropical Berry Sorbet which is a strawberry, guava and lime sorbet. Also, Cashew Chip, which is a salted cashew ice cream with dark chocolate chips. Definitely coming back to try the "Sometimes" part of the menu -- too many great options to try! Highly recommend popping by here while you're in the area.

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
Melt's ice creams are rich and creamy. A variety of delicious flavors. With Salt Lick and Cookie Crack as my always favorites; and, Springtime and Snowflake as my two seasonal favorites. Efficient and friendly is their service. Never disappointed with the quality. Yet, unlike the cheerful and happy feel to their setting in Fort Worth; this tiny spot at Oak Cliff is quite drab, making it less fun to be at. CHEERS!

Yuri C.

Yelp
I only tried the salt flavor ice cream and it was absolutely creamy! I'd love to try their other flavors next time.

Winta E.

Yelp
Stopped by this place while I was in bishop arts. I did not know this would end up being one of my favorite ice cream spots! The ice cream here is soooo delicious and their cones are absolutely delicious as well. Everything tastes fresh! I ordered the cookie crack and chocolate on a vanilla cone. Soo yummy!

Joey W.

Yelp
Found this place when we were walking around. We sampled the cookie crack, pistachio meyer lemon, and creme brûlée. The cookie crack is similar to cookies and creme, the pistachio meyer lemon was not sweet or tart and both flavors were subtle, and the creme brûlée had a hint of caramel flavor. We ended up choosing the cookie crack because I was craving something with a little bit of chocolate. And we also got the pistachio meyer lemon because it tasted good and we haven't had something similar. The ice cream was creamy and they have some of unique flavors. A good ice cream place if you're in the area. For two scoops, it was $5.50 - on the pricer side.

Morgan H.

Yelp
DELICIOUS! So sweet and even had a little salty flavor! The girl was too sweet, and my waffle cone was made fresh! Can't wait to come back and try more flavors

Whitney G.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Value: 4/5 ----- New kid on the block! This FTW transplant is the newest addition to bishop arts, and they're currently in their soft opening right now. Got a few kinks to work out, but overall it seems like they're landing on their feet well! I love their Cup of Texas and Chocolate Chocolate flavors. Definitely have a lot of nuance and richness. The others I was less sold on, but none of them were bad! Currently they have a few seasonal flavors on rotation (blueberry pie, peanut butter, etc), but you still have the classic favorites of beans, velvet, and the ones above. Service was pretty good, albeit a little slow, but I'm excited to see how this place settles in! Only complaint is that it is a tad pricey, but prices comparable for the area. Dallas seems to be having a huge crop of new ice cream places, and this one is holding its own for sure. Check it out!

Heather R.

Yelp
Yummy yummy ice cream! Melt has some of the creamiest ice cream I've ever eaten. The servers were extremely nice and let me try a bunch of flavors, which I truly appreciate! The scopes were very generous and for a great price! The bishop arts district is also an extremely beautiful area and an appropriate place to sit outside and eat ice cream on a hot summer day. By the end, I was completely full and satisfied :)

Shonda H.

Yelp
Had the pleasure to get a scoop of goodness from this ice cream shop in one of my favorite areas in Dallas! Very rich & flavorful definitely a Dallas must... So make sure you add it to your list, oh & thank me later

Jason L.

Yelp
Wanted some ice cream on a nice chilly night in Dallas. Melt ice cream was close to my hotel so I headed over. The strawberry ice cream was a little gritty and lacked flavor, same with the waffle cone. Sadly, this was blah.

Victoria E.

Yelp
Tried a scoop of dark chocolate in a dish. Was okay nothing special. They do offer unusual flavors that be a better choice and they make their own waffle cones. Many toppings to choose from.

Thanh W.

Yelp
Was looking for something sweet after Zen Sushi takeout -- and this was perfect!! If you enjoy coffee ice cream-- theirs is unreal!!! Soooooooooo delish!!!! You won't be disappointed. Salt lick was a great complimentary creamy salty counter flavor to the coffee, I don't think you can pick wrong. So happy to have found this place!! Thank you! Order online before you go pick up! Enjoy!!!

Tina H.

Yelp
I remember my first time having Melt Ice Cream was in Fort Worth and I am so happy it came to dallas. You can tell that they use real ingredients that are fresh and high quality. I got the Peachy Keen one with peaches and oat crumbles mixed in. It was DELICIOUS. Their menu rotated based on the season so make sure to get it before it goes away. The store is super cute and the employees are super helpful and nice. During COVID, they only allowed like 6 people at a time and they have their QR menu outside. I felt super safe there. Highly recommend and will stop by again.

Mel N.

Yelp
Pretty small shop with limited seating. About 4 stools at the window. $4 for a scoop. Extra charges for nicer cones per usual. Could try a various number of flavors. Don't think there was a limit. They have seasonal flavors as well as everyday. I can't remember the one I got... some cookie dough one I believe. It was good, but not the best that I had. The flavor wasn't that strong. Still a good fix, but would try other ice cream places in Bishop Arts before coming back.

Julia R.

Yelp
I ordered their seasonal butter burnt butter pecan and it was pretty good not too sweet usually when I order ice cream at independent ice cream shops they are too sweet but this one had a good balance we also ordered the vanilla bean ice cream it was good as well

Dawn R.

Yelp
Great ice cream. Both the lemon blueberry and sweet cream were lovely. Bathroom left something to be desired but the ice cream was perfect.

Wayne S.

Yelp
I had the salt lick. Good stuff. Just don't try to bring it to the bar, Atlas, across the street. They don't welcome outside food even if it's just a pint of ice cream. But Dave, or was it Gabe, the Bartender will happily store it for you in their ice bin until you've finished your business there.

Jesmin N.

Yelp
Came here looking to satisfy my sweet tooth after dinner nearby. They have fun, seasonal flavors, but I went with the classic vanilla bean ice cream. I added the chili chocolate sauce which was amazing! The sauce was smooth, sweet, with the slightest kick of chili (I could have used a little more spice). Staff was really nice and helpful. Definitely will stop by when we're in this part of town again.

Jon G.

Yelp
Nice little neighborhood ice cream spot. Had the salted caramel and was really good and creamy.

Victoria W.

Yelp
This is honestly one of my favorite ice cream shops. I've loved melt since the first time that I tried it in Fort Worth. This location is very convenient and in a great location for dessert after dinner or ice cream on an afternoon stroll. Love that this place stays open until 10pm on a Sunday which is when most places are closed!! Staff has always been very helpful and kind. The shop itself is always very clean which makes me feel better about eating there. The new summer flavors are amazing!! I have them listed in an email that I got below. Overall, I enjoy this ice cream shop and encourage everyone to give it a try!!

Christine H.

Yelp
Too creamy and airy for me. I was really hoping it was dense, icey and rich but it was overloaded on sugar on top of that it was the strawberry flavor so it was double sugary. No tastings during covid. As a paying customer who just walked in, I don't agree with this rule. If you can hand me a cup of ice cream, you can hand me a spoon of ice cream to where I can taste it 6ft away and throw it in a trashcan by me.

Adib A.

Yelp
Fantastic ice cream, excellent service. Highly recommend you try this place out if you are in Bishop Arts.

Evelyn R.

Yelp
I came here yesterday and got a sundae. I must say their sundaes are a good size. The ice cream I got was a coffee flavor, brown butter flavor, and the third I forgot. The reason I give it 3 stars was because it was just average. Nothing special, nothing terrible or great. Just average. The flavors were kind of bland to me. They didn't have enough flavor. The macadamia brittle was good though but everything else was just ok.

Jackie K.

Yelp
Just look for the bright yellow door, and you'll find Melt Ice Creams in the Bishop Arts District! They are very generous with their samples--you can try as many flavors as you want--there are two categories of flavors: (1) the classic, all-the-time flavors and (2) seasonal/sometimes flavors. Most of the seasonal flavors were Christmas themed, and I oped for a scoop of the flavor that's a hot chocolate based ice cream with marshmallows--very fun!

Lisa S.

Yelp
It was National Ice Cream Day sooo as a true patriotic, it was our civic duty to make sure we observed the holiday. We decided to go big and get two scoops, each a different flavor and DANG they were good. Each flavor, so dang good. The cookies and cream as well as the coffee ice screams were our favorite!! It was so nice to walk around bishop arts and enjoy our ice cream in a hot day. Excited to visit Melt again soon!

McKenze O.

Yelp
Cute little ice cream shop. Great area to wonder around. Girls in the shop were nice and helpful. Flavors all sounded great made it hard to decide.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Really yummy ice cream, best employee ever! We didn't get her name, but the woman serving tonight was stellar! Y'all are lucky to have her, if every employee was as fantastic as this the world would be a better place.

Shannon S.

Yelp
I have been watching and waiting for the "side dough" to open for months and months. I think Melt is the Fort Worth treat that I missed the most after moving to the OC. Now, I can have my Avoca infused ice cream and die happy. Seriously, this ice cream is last meal worthy. You need it in your life.

Jonathan M.

Yelp
Cool ice cream shop in the middle of the Dallas Art District. Stopped here for some dessert after chowing down on BBQ at Lockhart's next door. The decor is bright yet simple and inviting . However, there are only 4 really tall and uncomfortable stools that make it really hard to enjoy your ice-cream for a bit. Think they just want you to buy and bolt, which makes sense as it's a very small place. They have their "Always" and "Sometimes" flavors, had the salted caramel always and was pretty good but nothing ecstatic. I may be back to try some more later...
