Deep Ellum Pizzeria Serious Pizza Opens First Fort Worth Location - Eater Dallas

"MELT, the seasonally-inspired ice cream shop founded in Fort Worth, will open a new location in that city’s historic Stockyards. The location, at 128 East Exchange Avenue, will join several other restaurants in Mule Alley, including cowgirl-inspired bar Sidesaddle Saloon, Provender Hall, and The Biscuit Bar. When it arrives, diners can expect a menu of seasonally rotating flavors like pineapple upside down cake, coconut sorbet, and key lime pie. An opening date for the new location, Fort Worth’s fourth, has yet to be announced." - Brittanie Shey

I got the Salt Lick, and my friend got the Loaded Cookie Dough. Both were great choices! The Salt Lick was so buttery and caramelly, and the Loaded Cookie Dough had huge pieces of cookie dough throughout. We even saw them making the waffle cones in-house! So delicious! Definitely check them out if you're in the area and need a sweet treat!

Google
Incredible. It has been a while since I had pistachio ice cream that actually tasted like pistachio. Mixed in with cherry it became a sweet and savoury treat. The chopped up pistachio nuts brought an extra bite to it and made it especially tasty. MELT’s ice cream flavours are a mix between several flavours and toppings. Each of us had the pistachio cherry swirl, one cone with rocky road added and the other had a strawberry shortcake scoop on top.

Yummy! Stopped for Ice Cream in the Stockyards! Saw this sign and ordered a 1 Scoop Cone of the Lemon Blueberry Pie 🍋 🫐 🥧 😋 The waffle cone was fresh, it was made with Coconut Cream and dairy free! We will be back! I am full now! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
Delicious and a welcome treat all around! I really don't have anything negative to say about this location or experience. It was a hot day and the location was cute, fun and pleasing. It was just off the main of the stockyards lane. The flavors and choices were great - old classics with great indulgence twists, as well as non dairy and vegan options. Reasonable portions for price.

After dinner, getting some ice cream for desert sounded great. When we walked in the smell of fresh waffles was thick in the air. Looks like they make their own waffle cones fresh in the store! I opted for a couple of scoops in a cup. I would say it was a little pricey but look at any quality ice cream. None of it is cheap!

Cute ice cream store! I got cold brew float. Yummy.

Google
Unfortunately I forgot the names of the flavors but they were delicious! I can recall they were holiday flavors. The waffle cone was light and seemed like they make their own. The only downfall is how small and tight it is. Also, I wish they had more seating around the area so we can actually sit and enjoy.

They gave me the wrong ice cream and still charged for it and didn't accept the return. UPDATE: We bought eight ice creams from your shop, and seven of them were fine. However, one of them was ordered as “dark chocolate,” but it came with a strong coconut flavor and wasn’t dark at all. It was my son’s ice cream, and after tasting it, I confirmed that it was a sweet coconut-flavored ice cream. I informed the person at the cashier desk that I wanted a proper dark chocolate ice cream without a coconut flavor. They told me they couldn’t replace it because we had already tasted the ice cream. It seems like your shop hasn’t been in the ice cream business for very long. The standards for “dark chocolate” – whether it is an ice cream or chocolate bar – are almost universal. If whatever you’re adding to the ice cream overpowers the chocolate flavor and makes it excessively sweet, you really can’t call it dark chocolate. Long story short, I threw away your dark chocolate ice cream and bought something else for my son. I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but in this case, it feels well-deserved.

Yelp
"Melt" Ice Creams - (Mule Alley) Stockyards Y'all, this delicious place is Texas bread and women owned. They currently offer 4 locations; Magnolia, Bishop Arts, Mule Alley and Willow Park. It's located in the heart of Stockyards and Mule Alley. As you stroll through Mule Alley, towards Hotel Drover, it's located on the left side, Suite 624, close to "Catarina's" and "Cowtown Winery." It's very small and cozy atmosphere and the lines can get long. It's obvious people love "Melt" ice cream because strolling through Stockyards, you will find every other person with a cup or cone in their hands. But, the wait is worth it to indulge in cold creamy creations they offer. Inside you will find bright yellow colors with fun merchandise to take home with you. I ordered, "Chocolate Chocolate," one scoop. The man next to me ordered "Dark Chocolate," scoop and I would have ordered that instead since I prefer "Dark Chocolate." However, "Chocolate Chocolate," was creamy and sweet. The staff were great at accommodating each customer and helping them with choices they may not have been familiar with. I will definitely be returning here, to continue supporting Texas Women and for that "Dark Chocolate," scoop, or two, or three, or more. " In 2014, MELT founder Kari Crowe-Seher figured out what was missing from DFW: premium small batch, high-quality ice cream!" You can read their full story on their website. melticecreams.com 122 E Exchange Ave, Suite 624, Fort Worth, TX 76164 For more great content visit YouTube.com/@AbroadTravel

Yelp
Cute ice cream shop with vegan options. They didnt have a ton of flavors. It was reasonably priced. It was a cute set up inside.

Yelp
Really cute, cozy shop! Service was quick despite the many people cramming into the shop I got the plant based peanut butter explosion with chocolate , one scoop- thought it was a generous size. I was a little hesitant bc some plant based ice creams I had can taste a little chalky, but this definitely tasted just like a dairy based ice cream. Woo!

Yelp
First time trying Melt and it was yummy. A little pricy for just a scoop of ice cream, but there were so many shortcake chunks in the strawberry shortcake that it was worth it. It was truly a delicious and refreshing dessert to eat while walking around at the Stockyards. Definitely a place to check out and try if you're visiting the historic Stockyards or are in need of a delicious afternoon snack.

Yelp
what a great spot!!! I wish i wasn't doing this review five months later because I could give more of a quality overview -- however, i deeply enjoyed melt and can see why it is so popular! They have a variety of options and i love that they include dairy and gluten free options on their menu. I got the coffee flavor and the peanut butter flavor and thought it was absolutely delicious. I'm a bit of an ice cream snob so i wouldn't say it's the best ice cream i have ever had, but it was definitely top of the list!

Yelp
Located in one of the side streets at the Fort Worth Stockyards, this location of Melt Ice Cream serves up a nice variety of flavors, at reasonable prices. The ice cream was good, just the right thickness and we loved their flavors: salt lick, cup of TX, and Sweet cream. Like most ice cream shops, it's a lot more economical to get two scoops shared, vs getting individual one scoops. The servers weren't overly generous, so a two scoop was just the right amount. It does cost extra if you prefer a cone ($6.60 single scoop) vs a cup ($5.25 single scoop). They only accept digital payment (no cash), which was a bit surprising.

Yelp
Who doesn't like ice cream? Well judging by the crew behind the service line, these guys do. Everyone seemed to be genuinely disinterested in scooping. Maybe because it was a Saturday night and they were tired. The place was a mess too. As far as the ice cream goes, it was overpriced and not great. I can understand paying for location but it better be good and this was not good.

Yelp
We always get ice cream on a trip. That's our way of ending our day/trip on a sweet note. I looked up ice cream shops in stockyard and MELT ice cream popped up at the very front. Then I walked out of a chain burger store and noticed, hey, it's right across the street and people are eating ice cream in this 50 something degree weather, this must be good. I smiled at a mom walking out of the shop with her kids, and asked her if the ice cream is good. She gave me a thumbs up and said it's worth it. When we walked in the store it smelled amazing, I felt like walking into a bakery. I wanted to try out fun flavors but my kids insisted on what they know best- vanilla bean and strawberry. As a family we discuss, negotiate, and compromise. So we ordered vanilla bean and strawberry. Since we're sharing the ice cream and cone, I told myself it's okay to order 2 scoops. Vanilla on top, strawberry below, in a vanilla cone. But oh boy it was gigantic and it took the 3 of us a good 15 minutes to finish. The vanilla was surprisingly sweeter than the strawberry but I really appreciate MELT not adding too much sugar and using fresh ingredients. We can really taste the difference. We will come back when we're in the stockyard. Hopefully, the kids will at least let me try chocolate then.

Yelp
Melts fast in the heat so drink & spoon it fast. Quick in and out. Stand in line order scoop eat. Tight space for a large crowd of folks eager to cool down from the heat.

Yelp
Yummy ice cream! Ask for some samples, I tried sweet cream, salt lick (salted caramel) and cookie dough and liked salt lick the most. Cream brûlée was good too! Pricey at $7.50 for a scoop though, $9 for 2 scoops.
google avatar

Jose C.

Yelp
Ice cream was flavorful. I liked that they had plant based options which were delish! The service was friendly but a little slow. Not too bad though. Understandable considering it was a sunny and unusually warm Saturday afternoon. I would go back!
google avatar

Nikki J.

Yelp
This was a good cup on a warm day. I tried a few flavors before deciding on the cup of TX, a coffee based ice cream. The other flavors were a bit regular to me -- I tried the sweet cream & Rosie. I was surprised the Rosie only had a hint of the flavors listed. But the cup of tx had the perfect amount of espresso/coffee flavor.

Yelp
Quick stop for ice cream and Melt Ice Creams was the choice. My kid chose loaded cookie dough. Service was quick and staff was friendly. Overall nice little ice cream shop and ice cream was good. 4 out of 5 stars

Yelp
Hmmm how is this place getting more than 3 stars? Got the dulce de leche and the Texan cup of coffee - both scoops had a pretty weak flavor (not gentle , just week...). Nothing too exciting . For 5.70$ (for a cup ) one can probably score better when it gets to ice cream . I'll pass
google avatar

Sonya L.

Yelp
Small store front but different options. The service was good. We just wanted a small treat because it was hot outside. Got a scoop of lavender honey. It was delicious. There was chunks of crunchies (honeycomb?) in it. It was smooth and had good lavender flavor too.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious! I tasted the apple butter, but then went with cinnamon with chocolate sauce in a vanilla waffle cone! Amazing! Counter person was so lovely and enthusiastic! I appreciated the GF and dairy-free option!! I didn't need them, but I've followed both a gluten-free and vegan diet in the past, so that's a nice touch.

Yelp
Melt Ice Creams was conveniently located near where we wanted to stand for the Cattle Drive. We were craving something sweet so decided to give it a try. The flavor we ordered was seasonal. If I remember right it was called "Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie" or something to that nature. It was absolutely delicious! Great treat if you are in the area.

Yelp
The latest location in a growing chain of 3 ice cream shops. This one is perfectly located in the heart of the Ft Worth Stock Yards. You are gonna eat some ice cream down here no matter what time of year. They have laid their menu out so that you can easily see the flavors available that day. And flavors they are! The Key Lime pie made me feel like I was in Key West! The space is small and take out only so your gonna be licking fast in this Texas summa when you step out side! Sure to make you feel like a kid again! Go!

Yelp
Stopping in at Melt Ice Cream is a "needed" guilty pleasure on a somewhat warm day in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Oh my gosh, what incredible creamy ice cream. My wife and I both were so happy we both got one scoop instead of two since their ice cream was SO rich. My wife decided on Strawberry, and I opted for the Cookie Crunch. Since it was a bit warm on the day we stopped in, we had to eat the ice cream quickly. I have a beard and boy did I make a mess. Ha ha ha, but it was worth it. Next time we in the Fort Worth Stockyards area, we'll definitely stop in for more decadence.

Yelp
OmG super delicious and mist try ice cream if you are in area...Chip cookie ice cream was the one that I ordered. Most likely im ordering whatever with extra caramel or Vanilla taste or even pure chocolate but I took advice from the family of 5 in front of us. We didnt regret...The only thing that I hope after my review the management will take look to add table and chairs in side of shop. Outside was boiling and Our ice cream melted so fast...

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were walking around the stockyards and I just happened to look down the little alley that Melt Ice Cream is in and decided to peruse the shops. There are some legit looking boot and hat shops and there is also this small little ice cream shop (look for the yellow awning). When is it NOT a time for ice cream? So we walked in. The place is tiny. Standing room only and probably only enough for 4-6 people to stand in line. there were two young workers behind the counter. They were pretty awkward and funny. The menu was straightforward and they have some options like affagatos and cones. I got a single scoop in a cup. This is what happens when you get old. You get ice cream in a cup. Anyway. The ice cream was kind of melty, which is fine with me. It tasted good and we ate outside on one of the benches across the street. There was some traffic drama that was happening so that was fun. Melt is a nice little respite from the stockyards if you're in the area, otherwise I have no idea why you'd be in this little alleyway.

Yelp
Definitely recommend this business. Tons of ice cream flavors. It was little busy and line out the door but expected wait time.

Yelp
This is a great addition to the Stock Yards area. The local brand has grown quite nicely and why not, since their ice cream is amazing! It is a good combination of traditional flavors, but also offering some flair and creativity. It is located in the new alley area of the Stock Yards and is open late, which is when we were there on a weeknight. The location is small and narrow, but they do a good job with the line organization, even though there was only a small one when we were there, I can envision it going out the door. I got the Cup of Texas flavor in a cone and it was reasonably priced. I loved it and especially for the coffee that is from a local producer. The staff was friendly and efficient, just like I like it to be!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
Visited the cute melt truck while at the stock yards. I wish wed gone into their actual brick and mortar store for more flavor options but what we got was tasty and hit the spot. Im not sure if well be back though. The service and flavors just didnt compare with jenis ice cream.
google avatar

Rachel P.

Yelp
Yummmm got the plant based lemon blueberry pie and it was so delicious. The cones are really good. Best I've ever tasted. Peanut butter explosion was awesome too!

Adrian Q.

Yelp
Booty ass service, worst customer service ever was waiting for them to ask what i want and i asked the lady if i can order and she responded with "idk ask him" and started laughing and giggling like if it was funny she lucky i don't know where she lives at she had some silly lashes on.

Mark R.

Yelp
Favorite ice cream, extremely excited about their new location near our home in Aledo.
google avatar

Frank S.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream, nice trendy theme and friendly service.., but it ain't cheap compared to other ice cream shops. Waffle cones are fresh made daily at the store. Enjoy!
google avatar

Claire P.

Yelp
Ice cream was decent, but a bit expensive ($7 for two scoops), though that is to be expected in this part of town. I especially liked the Texas Coffee ice cream. It was a tiny place and extremely crowded with no seating.
google avatar

Seyi A.

Yelp
Their ice cream is amazing! It's a cute little shop with tons of flavor and really amazing staff. It gets kinda busy depending on the time you go but the lines move pretty quickly.
google avatar

Nisha I.

Yelp
HOW HAVE I NOT FOUND THIS PLACE SOONER. Well maybe it's a good thing because OMGOODNESS, its heaven on earth! I tried the vanilla, coffee, chocolate and PB flavors and they were all to die for!
google avatar

Yvette P.

Yelp
Very good ice cream. The inside is clean. The server friendly. The brownie cherry was good with huge brownie chunks. The waffle cone though...seriously the best ever. I could eat just those.
google avatar

Wilson L.

Yelp
I had a great time checking out MELT for some very delicious ice cream. The staff were friendly and fast and the ice cream was unreal. Definitely would recommend checking this place out.
google avatar

Christine D.

Yelp
So delicious!! It was a busy Sunday in the stockyards, and we kept seeing people with these giant ice cream cones, and after seeing enough we tracked them down! The girl working was so polite and patient even though she was by herself. She stayed kind and respectful, props to her! We got the loaded cookie dough ice cream and OMG SO SO GOOD! Creamy, chunky, gooey, salty, all the goodness! The store itself was bright and clean, and the purchase was affordable!
google avatar

Lazar V.

Yelp
Always make room for dessert. Melt has awesome house made ice cream options. Stopped in while visiting the stockyards and was happy with the overall experience. The staff are great and the ice cream is worth the line.
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
Large flavors variety. A good number of plant based options. The dark chocolate coconut milk flavor was delicious.
google avatar

Leslie W.

Yelp
Yummy. Very yummy. Love all flavors, there is diversity and innovation, things I always look forward to when it comes to ice creams.

Amy E.

Yelp
Way too sweet. The flavor gets buried under the sugar. Wasn't good in my opinion. But the service is good and the place is clean. A bit overpriced, but it's touristy, so that's fine.

Kelly N.

Yelp
The service was wonderful, the young lady who helped serve me, was very informative when I asked her about the flavors. It was delicious and I would most definitely go back if I were in the area.

Tondra H.

Yelp
2nd time coming in a week with my family. Great service The first time. Found a long straight hair deep in my ice cream and discreetly asked for a new scoop. I have curly hair and so do my children, no way it was ours. Some young guy with glasses did not want to give me a new scoop bc the ice cream was "already gone". No, it's over 100 degrees outside so it had melted but what was left was very much so a scoop. After making me feel like a thief and liar, he reluctantly gave me a new scoop. I won't be going back. Way to make a return customer feel like crap over a measly scoop.

Haylee S.

Yelp
Honestly the best ice cream I've ever had! I had the salty lick I think it was called... so good!!!!
