Melt Shop

Melt Shop at Roosevelt Field Mall was a mixed bag for me. I opted for their classic grilled cheese, tomato soup, and fries—a quintessential comfort meal. The grilled cheese was decent. The bread was crisp and toasted well, and the cheese melted just right, but it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. The fries were average—not particularly memorable but not bad either. The tomato soup, though, was underwhelming. It lacked the rich, creamy depth of flavor I was hoping for. I’ve had better elsewhere, and it felt like it could use a bit more seasoning or freshness to stand out. Overall, while the meal satisfied my hunger, it didn’t wow me. Melt Shop might be better explored for its other offerings, but as far as my experience went, it was just okay.

Omar and Michelle behind the counter are great help with wonderful recommendations. My go to is mikes hot honey chicken + tots. Melt shop is my go to stop when coming to the mall. And Omar and Michelle will always have me coming back for their recommendations and customer service!! ♥️

We ordered a grilled cheese and a Beyond cheeseburger with tots. Pretty tasty. Better than most mall food .

Ordered a burger melt. Bread was not grilled at all.. burger part good, bread not so much. Also ordered side of Mac & cheese cost $6 had the smallest amount I have ever seen. Asked guy why so small, he said that what they tell us to give & said to leave a review… I gave it back and got refunded.. all in all , very disappointed

I highly recommend their Salads. I have had the Honey Mustard Salad 🥗 three times now, and I'm not stopping anytime soon. I drive miles from Far Rockaway in Queens to Long Island to this store to get it. I wish they had branches everywhere and close by.

Gave this place a try and it exceeded my expectations.The Caesar Chicken Wrap was so good we had to return and get another for the ride back to the Bronx.The staff there really stands out from the rest of the  food options at the mall. Hospitality cant be taught and they all  naturally have it there.

They need to do better. Food wasn’t that bad. I ordered cheese fries from there and the cheese wasn’t even melted. The sandwich I ordered was mid. Spent $20 on fries, sandwhich and small drink. Probably won’t eat here again.

Had lunch here on Monday and i must say i was impressed! The fact that the head manager who was sitting across on his laptop asked me how was my meal and introduced his self was very surprising. Usually at upscale restaurants u find that, but he wanted to ensure everything was good and right. We spoke for a few and he did the most nicest thing and gave my two kids a milk shake because he asked them a few math questions and wanted to reward them, that was amazing. Those little things mean so much, thank you melt shop. You earned a good customer. btw that asian chicken sandwich was bomb!

Stopped in while shopping. This is my 1st time tryimg a Melt shop. Que assisted my family and i..He was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu items. He actually made us want to try more items on the menu . They were quick with the order. The food was tasty.. I recommend you trying this location. He says they also have a location in Staten Island

Haven't ordered in awhile, the last time I ordered the portion was twice the size. The cook made me a sandwich puny and quarter of the size. Like he cut the whole center out or I was purposely given the end pieces of another bread. As if it's not obvious and I wouldn't write a complaint. Look at the picture. Would've asked for a refund or them to make another sandwich if I was not on lunch break. Cashier was nice. Cook needs to rethink before trying to give portions like this, especially to returning customers. Lost a regular customer, won't be going back.

Do read on for info about Melt Shop! It's sure not Johnny Rockets! It's in the food court at Roosevelt mall 2nd floor. Um Yuck. Sloppy loaded fries. Mohan couldn't get the maple burger order right. By the third time we weren't up to eating it.the Korean chicken, something was not right after a bite that I didn't eat it. Could have w the mayonnaise in the cabbage. The roll was burnt on top and soaked with sauce. I did some how get a small cup of their listed tomato soup after he first told me they didn't have any. When the guy said sorry, I should have just asked for my money back all 42 dollars of it via the fact that he took the receipt to check the incorrect order and never gave it back to me.

I had a wonderful experience today for lunch all the staff were super friendly and the service was absolutely amazing, good vibes and great energy really made my day, Im looking forward to going back , ‍ chef Leon made an excellent chop cheese.

There are many food places to choose from like Chick-fil-A, pizza, etc. at the food court in Roosevelt Field Mall. Melt Shop is located near the front in the food court by the escalators. There are kiosks to order food or you can order with the cashier. Since there was a line of people ordering at the kiosks, I ordered with the cashier. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Chicken Melts and Shop Tots. The Buffalo Chicken Chicken Melts has Fried Chicken, Pepper Jack & Buffalo Sauce on Country White. Shop Tots is herbed parmesan on tater tots. The chicken melt was really moist and tasty. The tater tots had a good portion of herbed parmesan and would recommend. It took a little while to get the food, but the food was worth the wait. The buffalo chicken melt was $9.99 and the shop tots were $4.09. After tax, it was $15.29 for both these items.

I've seen your location at Terminal 4 JFK for some time now, but didn't have time to try it. Today, I decided to give it a go when I was at Roosevelt Field Mall in Nassau County, NY. Absolutely awful in all areas. You had two total people working the entire establishment. I ordered at a kiosk, and it took my order almost 20 mins to be finished and handed to me. I don't blame your employees, they're overworked (and surely underpaid). I ordered your "Biggie Crispy Chicken", which is listed on my receipt as $12.99. What I don't understand is what I get for $12.99. There was an upcharge for every single option I selected (other than the bread) INCLUDING the "crispy chicken" (at $2.99). So what's the $12.99? Is that the price for the option to buy a sandwich? I don't get it. As a side, I ordered "Naked Tots" which were exactly as described. When my order was handed to me, I asked for salt, and was told "no" and that there was none available. I also asked for a cup of water, and was told there was no water (you had a fridge full of Poland Spring in full view, which I'm sure is at least $3 or $4 a bottle). I'm sure the law that used to require restaurants to provide water, free of charge, has been erased long ago by lobbyists, or you guys probably have some fast food loophole. The sandwich was somewhat tasty, but considering the price, the chicken portion was a joke. Basically one small breast filet, cut in half. Cheese sauce had good flavor but I was basically eating cheesy bread, being that the chicken barely fills the inside of the melt. My tater tots were luke warm, saltless, and therefore flavorless. So there's my review/feedback. I guess this makes me a "Karen". Shame on you and your investors for such a disgusting money grab. My order came out to a whopping $26.44 for TWO items that both fell infinitely short of even the most basic expectations. I understand it's fast food, and I understand inflation, but to charge this price, for this product, is pathetic. And to boot, you put these two helpless, minimum wage employees on your front line, so if anyone is upset at being robbed by Melt Shop, they have to take (or not take) the brunt of your customers frustrations. I won't bother posting this on Yelp or any other review site/app, because I know how it works. You pay a service to smother negative reviews. Enjoy your money while it lasts.

Crispy Chicken melt was disappointing because couldn't taste the pepper jack cheese, was not even visible, and looked dry (definitely no melting cheese like in the photos). And it took a while to get the order.

Over priced , messy, unorganized, 20+min wait , nice workers but terrible service, messed up my order plus multiple other people's infront if me . NOT WORTH TO WAIT OR "HYPE" go to burger city down the street and get more than double what you would get here for 22 bucks .

Love this place perfect for grill cheese sandwiches, it's perfectly grill the bread is nice and toasty. I recommend the tomato soup is to die for. If you happen to be in Roosevelt field mall melt shop ask for Steven his customer service is excellent very attentive. If you are in the mood for something fast and tasty melt shop is the perfect choice

I recently visited Garden City for a Comic convention and my friends and I stopped by Roosevelt Mall afterwards. It's a huge mall and they have a lot of good food options but I ended up going to Melt Shop. I've been wanting to go here for a while and I got a Burger Melt with Wagyu Beef and American Cheddar. Burger sauce, caramelized onions on a brioche bun. It was juicy and the Wagyu beef was so tender.

It's always hard to choose what to eat especially when you're in Roosevelt Field Mall and there's many places to choose from. That said I wanted to try the Melt Shop. I ordered a Burger Melt and waited a long time for it as others got their food orders quickly. I know why my order took longer than the others.. This exquisite taste the onion's and cheese combined with pickles made this a mouthwatering meal. And to top that the staff here is so cool and personable from Tanajia whom I ordered from to Mohan who assisted to Michell who finally brought me my order. This place will strive and have the longest lines yes due to the food but also the fabulous employees..

Wandering around the mall with my kids, I develop a craving for some munchies.... I walked around the food court looking for something to salty and found the Melt Shop. By the name of the place, you would think that this is a cheese melt place, which is a big No No to the lactose intolerant... but surprise surprise, they also have wings and fried chicken sandwiches?! HELLO...did someone say Fried Chicken???? Ambience - this is a vendor in a mall food court ... nuff said. Food - I ordered: Spicy Original Crispy Chicken sandwich - a large piece of battered chicken breast served on a toasted buttered bun. Portion wise, this is a big piece of chicken in there. Flavor wise, the spiciness wasn't quite there. This could have been easily passed off as a "seasoned" fried chicken sandwich. It was good, but not really outstanding in any way, other than size. Parmesan Herb toys - tater tots...the ones I received were either over cooked or left under a heating lamp for too long as they were crunchy on the outside and .... dry on the inside ... most of the expected moisture was gone. I didn't even bother finishing this.

Grabbed some food here during a mall run at Roosevelt Field. We ordered the Mike's Honey Hot Chicken, Toasted Burger Melt, cheesy tots and loaded tots. We also tried the strawberry guava drink and lemonade. Our first time trying them and boy was it underwhelming. None of us (me, partner and toddler) enjoyed our food. The Mike's honey hot chicken was just literally just chicken with honey on it. Flavor came from the honey which was not much. The toasted burger melt wasn't really toasted and was bland. Taste was lacking on both. Now the real shocker was the cheesy tots and loaded tots. If you thought this included cheese like I did- it did not. It appears to be some " cheese" like product/paste. We didn't feel like experimenting with whatever this yellow paste was + it just looked super gross. We tried scraping it off but that didn't work either. And lastly, we tried the drinks and they did not save this meal. Not even close. All of it was a waste, try something else at the food court. Total spent was $47.

Food is ok but service is slow. The workers are rude and impatient when it's one of the least busy restaurants in the food court. Waited over 20 minutes for a simple order. No apology either.

Hmm. I don't even know where to begin. I've been to the other location at Smith Haven Mall, and had a much better experience. To start, the cashier was very rude. Anyway, I ordered a 4 piece tender basket with fries. I asked if my fries could be the herb parm fries as on the menu there wasn't any price difference. The cashier tells me it can't be done, not even for an upcharge. She told me that in order to get the parm fries I would have to order the tenders and fries separately. It still makes no sense to me today as I'm typing this review. While waiting for my food, I was waiting with at least 20 other people. They are so unorganized here it's unbelievable. People that ordered their food after me got their food. I waited and waited. It was not worth the wait at all. Every time I picked up a tender the thick, greasy and oily breading fell right off in my hands. I didn't even have chicken tenders as ALL of the breading fell off every time I picked it up. Now the fries weren't good either. Wasn't even worth it one bit. A huge waste of money. Wasn't worth one cent of that I spent. I honestly could've had a better meal at literally anywhere in the mall.

Jalil and Lyam provided excellent customer service, demonstrating efficiency and attentiveness. The food, especially the Buffalo sandwich, was exceptionally good--arguably one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in a while. I highly recommend trying the Buffalo sandwich for a delightful culinary experience.

I used to go here all the time when I lived in NYC. So I was thrilled when I saw one open on Long Island! And in the mall food court. I always get their loaded tots. Service was fast. Their chicken and sauces are just so flavorful.

let me start out by saying how amazing the customer service is. the General Manager Q, was the best and coolest manager I've come in contact with in a long time, a lot of places take your order and send you on your way, the General Manager actually took his time to tell us whats the best things on the menu without even having to ask, he treated his staff with respect and also every customer after us as i watched how he interacted while we waited for our food. the food was absolutely out of this world, especially for mall food/burgers. everything was correct nothing was incorrect and nothing was shy of ingredients where you order a burger and they slap one pickle, a half slice of cheese and a few pieces of lettuce, we ordered the The Shop Bacon Cheeseburger, Herb Parmesan Fries, New Burger Melt, Crispy Chicken Avocado Ranch, and the Crispy Chicken Caesar Sandwich, 10/10 recommended to anyone who goes

Whenever I go to the mall I would get melt shop. I wanted to try something new from the menu and ordered: 1. Mike hot honey chicken sandwich 2. Beyond cheeseburger 3. Chicken bacon ranch grilled cheese (my fav) It was good but the chicken and beyond cheeseburger was lacking a bit. The way they put in the box when I opened it doesn't look nice.

Original crispy chicken sandwich is very disappointing with two piece of small dry chicken with buns probably right out of a plastic bag, not toasted. Added $0.79 slaw, which is some soggy purple lettuce. In the ad, the sandwich has mayo in it, in reality, they give you a Kraft mayo pouch to squeeze yourself. The strawberry shake tastes loaded with artificial-sweetener. Fries are ok. Paid about $23 for this meal and waited for 20 minutes. We could be better off getting chick-fil-a across the hall.

Thought I'd try other things, besides their cheese melts. Decided to do their cheese bacon burgers and tots. Basically it's spot on. The buns were lightly toasted and soft in the middle. Patties were hot off with the melted cheese and semi crisp bacon. Can never go wrong with a side of tots. The milkshake on the other hand, was a bit of a venture with Mike's hot honey sauce inside. I do like the kick and the drizzle of honey inside but it may be a tad too sweet for my tooth. Overall this place never seem to fail me. Lines can get a little ridiculous. I'd usually just order up and go find a table (with others) then come back to get the food.

My boyfriend ordered this meal. It was both our first time trying from this spot. This meal is so simple yet so delicious! It is more on the pricy side but it's definitely very delicious! The tots were crispy and super good and the sandwich as well! I surprisingly enjoyed the tots without ketchup (: The chicken is so crispy and tender. With the Mayo sauce that it comes with!! SOOO delicious!! Would definitely come back.

Smack right in the middle of the food court at Roosevelt Field Mall! This nice little restaurant is known for their -well... what their name suggests- cheese melts. Haha. They have expanded their menu considerably since the last time we were here (in 2018). I had a pretty nice experience! Great place for a quick lunch in the mall. My wife & I ordered a bunch of things to share: a Crispy Chicken Melt, Chipotle Chicken Melt, loaded Tots (comes with bacon, cheese, jalapeño, grated parmesan), and an Herb Parmesan Tots (garlic, herbs & grated Parmesan). The Crispy Chicken Melt looked unappetizing... but it actually tasted better than it looked! Very crispy batter & pretty moist on the inside, served with a nice slaw that provides an acidic & creamy texture to the sandwich. My only complaint was that it was very salty. I think they added way too much salt in the batter. The Chipotle Chicken Melt was pretty good, perfect to my taste.. had a nice Chipotle Mayo sauce, avocado & tomato slices. Overall, pretty satisfied with our meal. They also have a nice little station setup on the side at the pickup window with napkins, plastic forks, spoons, knives, ketchup & Mayo packets, etc all neatly organized in one corner. I'd eat here again whenever I'm in the mall. Not a bad meal from a fast food restaurant. Give it a try if you're into this type of food! (Not the healthiest option, haha)

Let me start by saying the food was delicious. Their customer service was lacking. Although there were 2 registers, on a Saturday night, they were only using they kiosk to order. I joined the line with 4 people in front of me & it took 20 minutes to place my order. I planned to pay with cash & when I realized it was a kiosk order, I let one of the workers know I had cash & she just said, "We don't take cash" & walked away. No apology or concern, just matter of fact. There was no sign or any other indication they were only taking cards.

So I'm not sure if my review was deleted or not but I'm gonna write it again. This place is GHETTO! The last time I came here I was faced with an very nonchalant and disrespectful cashier who was joking around with me while taking my order and not in a good way. They are so unprofessional at this place and don't care about the image they display to customers. How can you be working on your shift and goofing off with your coworkers. I mean they have their phones out, laughing and giggling as they're taking orders? Anyways, I received my order with the cashier still joking around with me, again, not in a good way and I'm asking for ketchup which he straight up ignored my request for. So I'm shocked staring at the next cashier as she hands me the food, then she states as I walked off "WhY ShE gOt aN ATiTuDe?" Followed by another comment saying "she don't know we'll beat her a**. " Absolutely disgusted by their behavior. I pride myself on being a very understanding person but with a place like this, absolutely not and it's sad too because it's mostly young black teens who work here and as a young black teen myself it's very discouraging and paints a bad picture of other black teens. Very awful experience and I would NEVER eat here again.

I asked the counter girl to please order me whatever is available to have me coming back every day for life. I didn't care what it was except I want it cheesy. Of course, I'm at a Melt Shop. I also ordered cheesy tots which were fresh and, wait for it.... cheesy! They were actually great. Fresh, crispy and had quite a bit of cheese on them. My surprise order was the Nashville Hot sandwich... which has no cheese on it. Some sort of sauce, pickles (not enough) and a bun. The chicken was cooked perfectly but I really wanted cheese. Will I go back for that? No. But I will go back to try other things since what I did have today was very good. They are allowing people to sit and eat at tables right next to the store. I feel awful for taking so long to write this review. I was at the Melt Shop a few weeks ago and had the most amazing experience. Not being familiar with a restaurant menu makes it pretty challenging to place an order, especially when there are a lot of people waiting in line. However, as stressful as it was to order, not just for me but for my teen son and his friends, Que really made it easy and less stressful. Que, I later learned, was the Manager of this establishment. He was so patient with me and when I asked for recommendations, he narrowed down my choices to make it so much easier for me to finally decide and get the line going without feeling rushed. Que is an asset to this company and the staff who appear to younger than me, will surely benefit under his supervision. I cannot wait to go back and try the other options he recommended! The Melt Shop, its location being so close to the lounge areas makes it feel less cafeteria and more lounge-y ambiance. All in all, the food is delicious, the location is great and with a manager like Que, I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone looking to have something good to eat at the mall. Thank you to Que and his assistants who helped served me and the teens who were with me.

The food and service was excellent, one gentleman stood out, I believe his name was Que or Quincy but I remember him because he had such great energy and he is a Knicks fan like my self lol. I definitely recommend and will go back!

I've passed this shop a million times in the mall, so I decided to give it a try. The portion size was great, the veggies were fresh. The only complaint was the crispy chicken, it had way too much breading. Other than that the salad was really good.

First time trying the melt shop and I was satisfied! I got the vegetarian truffle grilled cheese melt with cheese tator tots... YUM. That plus a water was a little over $14. Service was fast & food was hot.

I went to Melt Shop two days ago for the first time and I wanted to the rewards that I had for the first visit which is "Free Grilled Cheese Sandwich for the first visit", however, when I scanned the my code in the melt shop app, it took the money for the sandwich from my credit card and I didn't get it for free. So I asked the person to cancel the order, and the lady said she cancelled the transaction from my card, however, it was charged from my card and I am still not getting the money back. The person who works there wasn't so professional and I felt little bad for coming back. Hope they give me back the money.

I stopped by after a doctors appointment with my daughter... I forgotten how good you guys were haven't been here in a while ... I loved the chicken melt sandwich avocado melt and the tots ... so yummy and the service was excellent five stars ... the tall guy with the salt and pepper beard and Knicks tattoo give that man a raise he was so courteous friendly and he had me cracking up... Great food Great service... I will most definitely be back.

I feel like this is a good place to get something quick to eat, don't expect anything fancy, just a regular food box. Now in this simple food box comes a decent sized sandwich that will probably blow your mind. They have a good variety, so whether you just want a classic grilled cheese or maybe a sandwich with a twist, this is the place to go. They have both vegan and vegetarian options which is great! I think the food is great and service was pretty quick as well! Basically this sandwich shop is in the mall. So in my opinion your wait time will 100% be based on the day you go and how many people decide they don't need to work that day. This is something you should try! Wishing they had a diary free option on the shakes!

DO NOT EAT HERE. You WILL BE SORRY! This location should be shut down. Nothing but inexperienced children here resulting in long wait times and cold food. today they ran out of burgers and had to run downstairs to their store room to get more. Not sure why they would wait until they literally ran out of burgers. Oh wait! See 3rd sentence.

The food was delicious! I'd really only complain about the length of time to wait. It felt like nothing had been prepped, nor was there a feeling of any urgency.

No customization what so ever! Tried to add lettuce and tomatoes to a kids burger was told absolutely no! Why!?

Located in the Roosevelt field mall food court. Nice little bar type set up. Friendly enough staff. Foods a bit pricey but it's expected for mall food. The sandwich I tried was the chicken bacon which happened to be delicious. The loaded tots were also good. It's something different and worth giving a go.

I got the burger melt during a busy Labor Day weekend at Roosevelt Field Mall. I thought it was really good at first bite but there was too much oil seeping out of the sandwich with every subsequent bite. It was basically a grilled cheese with some burger in it. The pickles overpowered the taste of the sandwich and most of them fell out before I could eat the second half. Overall, a 5/10 type of sandwich. I don't think I'd eat this in the food court again, though.

I usually like to come here for their sandwiches but today i decided to order the chicken tenders so my toddler could have some. The breading of the chicken was so dark but it was still tender. I had to rip off the breading to feed it to my toddler. Second, i ordered some shop tots and half of them were all broken to small pieces and not as a whole. For the price that i was paying i expected a better presentation of the food or just don't send it out if its burnt or broken looking.

Food was rushed. My chicken tenders I ordered was literally smothered in spicy bathered as i ordered spicy korean tenders. The fries were okay. Long line wait. Food was not enjoyable at all.

Used to be pretty good. Went there today for the first time in over a year. Sandwiches are smaller, bread is basically white bread and there is about 50% less meat. Overpriced and gross. Avoid this one.

First and last time! I got the regular crispy chicken sandwich. The cooks burnt my chicken sandwich. The flavor of a fried chicken comes from the outer coating . This was not the case, while biting in to the sandwich chicken crusting came off, I ended up just eating the white meat. The fries were good and they give out plastic straws. I do not recommend this place.

Easily the worst chicken strips that I've ever had! Ordered the Nashville hot, and a lot of the chicken was inedible, chewy & tough, the skin was falling off as I ate. It was the same nonsense with my daughter's kid's meal strips, which they conveniently forgot to put in our bag (order). This was a waste of almost $30. NEVER AGAIN!!!

This place is pretty good. Their loaded tots have jalapeños, cheese and bacon! What's better than those three things? Having some morning sickness throughout the day so seeing the Meltshop's menu was actually helping my tummy in some weird way. I ordered chicken, pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, arugula on whole grain bread and it helped so much. I opted for no sauce but I'm pretty sure if I wasn't preggers I'd go for the sauces. They have grilled cheeses and steak options. I will so try them again when at Roosevelt Field Mall.

It was okay. Kind of over priced imo the tots were good and the burgers could gave been better.

I wish I was more hungry when I dropped by here. I really wanted one of their fried chicken sandwiches, but I ended up just going with the Classic. The Classic grilled cheese comes with two kinds of cheese on white bread. Mine was cooked perfectly. The bread itself was crispy with a nice golden brown on the outside. The cheese was melted just right. It brought me back to my childhood. It was simple, yet comforting. I also went with the Loaded Tots because I couldn't say no to tater tots with cheese and toppings. It came with bacon, jalapenos, and this herbed parmesan. The flavor was good, but I mostly just tasted the cheese sauce. The bacon didn't add much and I definitely didn't taste much of the parmesan. The jalapenos were the pickled ones you get with nachos. I think it would have been more successful with diced fresh jalapeno peppers instead. For $6, this was a bit too pricey. I think next time I'd just get the Cheesy Tots for $4 since the added toppings didn't really greaten the experience much at all. It's great having an offshoot of this NYC concept at the Roosevelt Field Mall.
