Half way into our course, I had to jump on here and talk about the amazing experience we are having so far. Not only is the service great, everything we've had is absolutely delicious. As a cheese lover, I have finally found a home.
I usually like to take a photo of my food before I start, but it's food like this that is so mouth watering that I forget everything I knew except fine dining and breathing.
Anyway, I'm sitting here ready for dessert as I continue my review.
The black berry sage and strawberry basil lemonade is literally DRUGS.. (not literally drugs, but I'd give up drugs for these..) (not that I do drugs, but if I did...you know what I mean)
The price- fondue experience for 2 for 100$ is absolutely worth it. It's an excellent date idea.
The portions are perfect, not too big and not too small.
Our server, Saleen, who was amazing--was apologetic for the time it took to deliver the next course, but it was actually perfect timing. I've been to other coursed meals and it seems that they usually try to shove all of them down your throat at once to get you out asap......but considering that each course here isn't too small, you need time to digest. So timing was of the essence.
As for the main course... we got the coq au vin which was delicious and easy to use. The mushrooms taste incredible in this broth. We also got the frying oil/ with some yummy batter and breadcrumbs.
If you decide to go for the frying option, PLEASE take a mini course on frying. Not everyone is born knowing how to properly fry something and most only learn from experience. Painful experience. The frying only went well with the potatoes/zucchini. not so much with everything else. Especially foods that required full cooking, which by the time your item is golden brown, or in my case, charcoal black, the food is undercooked. Luckily I like my meat medium rare. And of course, why would you want to fry everything? 5 out of the 6 sauces were delicious. I'm not sure which circle of hell the ginger plum sauce was created in, but it did not agree with my pallet.
Now, dessert just arrived and even though I normally go for white chocolate, I was not a fan of this particular "white chocolate"... it wasn't like the Hershey's white chocolate, or the WHITE white chocolate you're used to seeing on pre made dipped strawberries. It had a color/ texture/ or viscosity of something you might decide weather to spit or swallow.
Although this concoction did go very well with the strawberries, or any sour fruit, it didn't "Slap" (as youngins say) much with the already too sweet desserts. Overall, it is incredible how much dessert you actually get. It was awesome. Next time I'll be going for the milk chocolate.
Ultimately,
We had a wonderful experience which wouldn't have been possible only with the delicious food, but the cherry on top was the exceptional service provided by SALEEN thank you! 10/10 would recommend
This wasn't just dinner. This was a whole experience. We were there from 745-10:45 pm.
Ps. A guy just dropped everything he was doing to open the door for us when we left.
Good job everyone!
