"Mémo: where memories intertwine with flavors. At the helm, Rémi Lemieux—formerly at Au Pied de Cochon and a contestant on Top Chef Toronto 2024—serves modern, joyous, no-holds-barred cuisine. In this intimate restaurant (20 seats and a counter facing the kitchen), the dishes are a wake-up call for the taste buds. A beet tartare, the texture surprisingly similar to beef, sits alongside a pearly scallop immersed in an umami dashi broth. A delicious mini-burger showcases a combination of Mimolette cheese, zucchini, and a tender, juicy sirloin steak. This cuisine explores a variety of influences (from Japan to France) while conjuring up childhood memories." - Michelin Inspector

One of my fave restaurants after trying so many. The waitress asked us what our preferences are for food and they made a menu while making sure there aren’t any of the ingredients we’re not fans of. Everything was delicious but I was most impressed by the duck. The chef personally came to introduce every dish to us with a cute interesting story. The service was excellent and they wrote a little card for birthday wishes. The restaurant is very small but it was very cozy and comfortable.

Easily the best and most memorable meal of our trip to Montreal! I’m so grateful we landed on this option after scouring the Michelin guide. We came on a Friday evening for a celebratory dinner. From the moment we arrived, the whole team made us feel very pampered and cared for. Shout out to our waitress Izzy for checking in at the perfect times and also sharing fun factoids about the restaurant and its origins; we loved that. We wore business casual as Open Table suggested, but I think we would have been fine going more casually as well. I really appreciated the light, cozy vibe of the restaurant. Between the warmth of the team, the casual chic decor, and the executive chef bringing out plates himself while sharing stories, we felt such a homey, welcoming presence. The chef shared a story of cooking for his partner for the first course, and honestly the whole night felt like we were invited into his home and he was cooking his favorite meals for us. And the food… I’m still replaying every course of the tasting menu. Everything was so flavorful, creative, elevated, and still tangible. I loved the brightness of the first two courses and then the slow transition to sultrier heavier plates. I’ll be thinking about the ponzu gel dish with tomatoes for a long time. I don’t even usually like duck but I was literally scooping up every last morsel from my plate. Phenomenal dishes, and I can only imagine how great the wine pairing is as well. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, and I can’t wait to come back and see what they do next!

This might be a great place for tourists, but in the opinion of this local, our meal was a flop. I will say, it was a sweet touch for the chef to come out and personalize the dishes (saying this was what he made for his girlfriend, etc.), but the wait between services when there were so few people in the restaurant surprised us. The six course menu was served to us over 3 1/2 hours. It kind of felt like they were waiting us out so that we would order more wine or overpriced water or whatever. Foodwise, there were some highs and lows, but most of it was bland, though beautifully plated. The endives were nice; the dessert was terrible and most of the gels tasted chemical.

The new chef (Vice) was OUTSTANDING, and every member of the staff was an absolute delight! My dad took me here as a treat after I took my medical boards, and I will never forget this dining experience. We selected the 6 course meal, and every component was unique and (very!!!) flavorful. My favorite was the first course, the ceviche. I could not recommend a place more highly. Thank you to everyone for the experience. I will be back soon :)

The menu is an exciting fusion of tradition and innovation, featuring unique combinations that you won't find anywhere else. It’s clear that the chef has a deep passion for their craft, as each dish is not only visually stunning but also bursting with intricate, layered flavors that elevate the dining experience to something truly extraordinary. They guide you through the meal with a passion that makes each course even more special. This is more than just a place to eat—it's a place to experience something new and exciting, to discover a deeper appreciation for the art of cooking.

Had an excellent experience in this centrally located restaurant in the downtown. Very personal as the chef even came and explained all the plates, loved that!! Good priced tasting menu! Definitely a repeat on my list!

Such a lovely staff! warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Beyond the great cocktail list, the menu has some unexpected gems. And if you’re feeling a little adventurous, don’t hesitate to ask the chef for something special — there’s magic happening in that kitchen 😉 This spot feels like a little secret you’ll want to come back to.

Dinner at Mémo was honestly one of the best meals my wife and I have ever had. For a Friday night, it was surprisingly quiet, which made the vibe super chill and cozy. Right from the start, our hostess was incredibly warm and welcoming. She took the time to walk us through the menu and made everything sound so good. We ended up going with the tasting menu and wow, it did not disappoint. There were six courses: shrimp ceviche, hamachi, endives, carrots, duck, and a really lovely dessert. Every single dish was delicious, and there were so many fun little surprises in the flavors and textures. The cocktails were also soooo good. One of the highlights of the evening was having Chef Jaya himself come to our table to explain each dish and share the inspiration behind it. You could tell he put so much thought into every plate, and he wasn’t afraid to get creative and take a few risks. It all totally worked. Chef Jaya’s menu was a true joy to experience. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we’ll be back.
