This was the midpoint for one of our bike rides on Thursday. My friend was celebrating her 39th birthday at the midpoint the vendor they had there. I don’t know if they serve food but the vendor they had their food was very bland and mediocre. They had games for you to play They had plenty of TVs to watch sports events they had a big screen TV outside for you to watch plenty of seating, picnic tables and decent parking. What I go back? No.

Google
They menu is limited. The drinks are so so, not bad, but also not impressive to me. Our group came last Friday, pretty chill. Their backyard is the best for chilling outside at night.

We love Memorial Trail Ice House! It’s a great place to go and enjoy great drinks like wine and beer. They also have exclusive cocktails, and a food truck is onsite. You may order outside food for delivery to the ice house. When you sit down, you do get a bucket full of unlimited bag of chips! We appreciated Christina recommending delicious cocktails and Ashley telling us the history of the building. The patio area is big and on a sunny day, it’s perfect for drinking with friends! I highly recommend you check out this new ice house! Great drinks and friendly staff!

Google
This place is great. Awesome atmosphere, great mixologists and plenty of outdoor seating. There's a pro cornhole setup being put in and I'm pretty sure if I lived in H town I'd become a permanent fixture. No joke.

Google
So cute, great patio! This place had a great atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating. Staff was all super friendly.

Google
Good spot with affordable happy hour. Love the easy ordering from the table and ample parking.

?!

Google
Not as crowded as either of Kirby houses, which makes Memorial Trail that much more enjoyable. Although, pre-NYE 2021 might have been an off night so may be crowded nowadays. Bartender was friendly and willing to make new cocktails.

Gabe

Google
Nice place to hang out with friends. They have a variety of craft cocktails and frozen drinks.

Yelp
I come here for the run club, which is at 6:30 on Mondays, and you get a free beer every 5th run. I love running on memorial trail and enjoy the vibes of both the club and the other patrons of the bar. They have a nice, spacious outdoor patio that dogs can sit at, as well as large fans mounted up near the ceiling. They have some picnic tables with chairs as well as tables with umbrellas. I have not spent as much time inside, but it looks cool/like your basic bar area. The inside is darker and therefore more intimate. They have good alcohol deals (such as some $3 beers) as well as have events such as steak night and other things going on the whole week. I have not tried the food, so I cannot speak to it, but will update if I get the chance to. They have large TVs to catch hockey and any other sports going on.

Yelp
When looking up steak nights in houston we found Memorial Trail Ice House and decided to give it a try instead of doing our usual. The place is pretty big and has a nice outdoor seating area with some tv's and big screen to watch games on. The bartender was very friendly and let us know different drinks they had and was helpful. Since we went for steak night, I of course have to talk about that too. Wasn't bad and for 19.99 get a steak, potatos and green beans. Everything had good flavor and definitely a lot of good for the price. This was a Tuesday night, would like to check out on a weekend and see what it's like too, looks like a good place to hang out.

Yelp
The space is enjoyable, they have a good selection of beers as well as cocktails. They also have a food truck, I believe it rotates. They're dog friendly (!!) and have lawn games. I've enjoyed stopping in to hang on a weekend or attend happy hours here. Overall this is a fun, casual spot. Parking is abysmal. There's a small lot that's pretty tight - great if you drive a smart car - but it fills up fast and is not paved. Park in the surrounding neighborhood if you can! Overall would recommend! Bring your friends, your kids (I suppose) and your pups! Drinks are solid! Just be prepared to walk a little or, better yet, Uber!

Yelp
Molly is the best. Don't cross her or boss her. Let her do her thang and she'll treat you right! So impressed at the composure of staff on a busy day when many wanted to "watch their team" with the Astros coming up. Molly sorted the technical issues and delivered her promise to keep our Ŧ game on as the 'Stros came to play (and win!) in NYC. THANKS TO HER AND DAVID at the front door for letting us know in advance how it would work so all fans could chill and enjoy their games. This is *the place to be* to support your team and have a good time!

Yelp
Was super quiet on a rainy Friday night but beers were good and so was the service... will add to the rotation

Yelp
Great, new neighborhood spot! They had a great drink selection and the ambiance was enjoyable. Staff has been solid every visit. Parking can be an issue, had one of the employees double park behind me on a weekend, took some time to get out. Great for group Happy Hours. Been back several times and each time was enjoyable. The majority of the place is outside, so dress accordingly.

Yelp
Went to Memorial Trail Ice House for the first time a couple of weeks ago as part of an alumni event for my sorority. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much parking they had. Before going I checked to see if it was pet friendly, and to Button's benefit it was! She loved it so much, she wanted to walk around and sniff everything! The big fans blasting air were helpful and kept all of us cool during this warm evening. The food truck there had great food though the portions were huge! It was alright though, I was able to share. I liked that they had an indoor area, and outside area under a porch, and an outside area with lots of seating and umbrellas for multiple tables.

Yelp
Went here on a weekday to hang with someone. On a Thursday night, the place is not busy at all. Nice that they have a private lot to park your car and also the option of street parking. I was lucky to get a spot for my car. They have indoor and outdoor seats and plenty of tvs as well to catch a game or something. I only ordered a glass of red wine. I wasn't able to sample their food items, hence, I couldn't really give it 4 stars. I am sure this place gets packed on big game nights and walkable within apartments and houses that surround the area. Will go back to sample their food menu someday. Overall, a good, simple and quiet night with a good glass of red.

Yelp
Memorial Trail Ice House is a great addition to the neighborhood! The whole place is really cool. They kept the historic outside of the building, while creating a modern, comfortable inside bar area. But the real star is the back patio area - it's massive! Even with Covid social distancing, there is plenty of seating. My only complaint is that they should add some TVs to the patio area. The drink selection is also really good. They have a few frozens, several signature Cocktails, and a decent selection of draft beers. I tried the Roundabout Rickey and Bee Someone and both were great. They also have food trucks on site and two large parking lots.

Yelp
This not so hidden patio bar has been on my list for awhile, and I finally got to try it out recently. First off, I appreciate the location being away from the typical "Washington" area/crowd. There is a gravel parking lot, as well as limited street parking. The patio is pretty large and is filled with plenty of chairs and tables. I tried out the "walk on the wild side" cocktail during my visit - essentially a not-so-fruity spicy margarita - and it was delicious! I foresee Memorial Trail Ice House being a regular spot for me on a pretty day!

Yelp
Posting here because they deleted the post I commented on IG. Went here today for $5/lb crawfish. We were THE FIRST people there at 1055. My friend was at the bar and I got our group a table on the patio. Manager tells bartender "our supplier screwed us so we only have 100lbs and it won't get here til 1" instead of the 12 o'clock advertised. Fine. My friend tells bartender we're here for crawfish, bartender replies "oh bro I got you, y'all were the first ones here." Couple sits down next to us with tickets, approximately 1235, I tell me friend he needs to go check in with his bartender. He comes back and tells me it's completely sold out. WHAT A JOKE. No signal, no announcement, no time mentioned to get in line. I understand at $5 not everyone is going to get crawfish, BUT WE WERE THE FIRST PEOPLE THERE, it's utterly ridiculous. Your staff need to be prepared or at least somewhat have a clue on big days like today. Between that and the new forced, poorly executed valet system, we likely won't be back.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and drinks. Wish they had more options for food ... there was only the burgers when we went. No other food trucks on site. We ended up leaving to get dinner after having drinks.

Yelp
Found this place here on Yelp while searching midpoints for our cycling group. Not sure how we hadn't know about it already. Hidden Gem? Huge yard with food carts and fire pits. Showed up Monday night with 20+ people and the food and drinks were quick and the staff were awesome. Definitely group friendly and welcoming.

Doug H.

Yelp
Savages offered $5/lb crawfish, opened early (pre hours listed), didn't tell anyone the sale process. Incredibly horrible run at this. They proceeded to delete their IG post promoting it. Honestly the worst business idea and execution I've ever experienced.

Yelp
Went to Memorial Trail Ice House for only an hour on Saturday night. Witnessed 4 cars get broken into at their private parking lot. The manager did not help any of the customers and kept saying that it was not their problem. Do not go to this bar if you plan on driving.
google avatar

Misha T.

Yelp
Pretty cool bar with a sizable outdoor and indoor area and plenty of TVs. This is probably a great place for large groups. The beer/liquor selection is solid as well. I do wish they had more food than just potato chips but I think there's usually a food truck outside to fill that niche. The parking lot gets pretty muddy so if it's just rained think about your footwear.

Yelp
We went here for a friend's going away party and wanted a bar with games. The place is really big and has a big outdoor sitting area. There are also plenty of games to choose from, but we decided to play cornhole. The drinks are pretty interesting. I got a rosie frozie and everyone in my party all decided to get one after trying it. However, there are no alcohol in here. I got a tequila sunrise after the frozen margarita, and again, I didn't feel buzzed. I then got the matcha shot from their happy hour menu. It was sweet, but again, still sober. Even my friend who is a complete light weight didn't feel anything. Definitely recommend pre-game before coming here. If you're looking to get buzzed, better luck at some other bars. But if you're just looking for somewhere to just hang out and chat with friends, this is the place for you.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and have always had a good time. It's a great place to hang outside on a nice evening and they have quite a few fire pits surrounded by Adirondack chairs for when the weather cools down. Otherwise there's plenty of picnic tables and even some indoor space to hang out. This place differs from a true ice house by serving draft beers and cocktails (a welcome addition for many). My only qualm is parking can be difficult here. While there is a parking lot, it's small and you can see cars having difficulty maneuvering around. Basically, plan to park in a ditch in the surrounding neighborhood neighborhood if you're going during peak hours.

Yelp
I've been a regular at Memorial Trails Ice House since it opened in the challenging COVID era. Wow, it has improved and grown impressively. They've added BIG outdoor TV screens, shade cover, live music (now an indoor stage) and I just noticed the new mobile ordering app is live. Owner John Shaeffer is a great guy and like most entrepreneurs, has no quit in him and committed to a great customer experience. I applaud all entrepreneurs who "put it out there". Tuesday Steak Night is a great deal. Nothing like a hot steak right off the barbie washed down by an Alstadt Lager followed by a game of corn hole.

Destiny G.

Yelp
I went on a Tuesday evening around 7p with a few girlfriends and we were ALL highly disappointed. First of all it took over 20 minutes for us to be served our drinks at the bar, no it wasn't insanely busy either. It's almost like everyone kept serving the parties around us.... I ordered the steak special which I saw promoted on Instagram. I asked for medium- medium well. When it arrived, it was WAY PAST WELL DONE. I didn't complain though, I just kind of picked at what I could and threw the rest away. They apparently also ran out of food by 745 or so. Because the rest of my party tried to order food after I did, and they were told they ran out of steaks. That's all they were serving on a Tuesday night... Bad service. Bad food. Food shortage. Won't return.

M M.

Yelp
My car was broken into Saturday Night. Manager was not there that night. Employees were rude about camera footage and they claimed they have no responsibility over cars in there parking lot which is located on the premises. Terrible bar. Never going back. DO NOT DRIVE TO THIS BAR. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!

Yelp
Don't let the address "Washington" fool you. It's not located on the infamous strip where bars and clubs cater to the super young and $30k millionaires. This gem is past the roundabout, nestled north of what most know "Washington" as and south of I-10. They also happen to have two huge self parking lots on site, which is a big plus. Trying to find street parking can be a nightmare, but this puts you at ease. Most importantly, they have an incredibly large outdoor patio/yard. I know times are a little tougher right now, but this alone makes this place stand out as an option. If you're at all cautious and want to still get out to enjoy a drink or meet some friends, look no further. Plenty of space between tables and chairs. The owner John walked around and introduced himself and couldn't be a nicer and more welcoming guy. You can see his passion for having a place to gather with friends and seems undeterred in these tough times. Drinks are plentiful and varied; everything from fancy cocktails to your college memories. Staff was super nice. Fire pits on site and heaters as well for those colder fall/winter nights. Nice to see another elevated ice house in Houston, and on this side of town.

Yelp
Great outdoor venue that was sorely needed. The Washington corridor is filled with bro bars and a certain type of crowd. This is an ideal neighborhood bar that I haven't really seen in this specific area throughout the 5 years I've lived here
google avatar

Yelp
Great place and awesome atmosphere. Customer service was really good too. I had two bee someone and I can't wait to go again to have another one!

Yelp
Served Ghost in the machine in a sippy cup. Came to watch football but apparently ALL their TV's are tied together, four per channel. It's a one hit wonder, been there once, no point in ever going back. Worst establishment I've been too in the Heights. With so much adequate competition out there this one is DEFINITELY two thumbs down. Never again!

Yelp
I work a few blocks away and happened to drive by and saw that the Ice House was finally open (I was told it opened about 2 weeks ago). I came in the next night, thinking I would only see a cozy bar in a brick building. However, I was pleasantly mistaken. The interior of the bar is warm and relaxing, with dark wood floor and square bar (at least 3 sided). I liked the brick facing and antique-like fixtures. Several taps of cold draft beer and good selection of spirits (drink menu is available). Seating inside was fairly varied, with bar stools, sofas and arm chairs. Great space with televisions in several areas. But the big plus is the large outdoor area, part covered but mostly open. The high wooden fence kept out most of the traffic from Washington. The outside area is large enough with several groupings of chairs (plastic and wooden Adirondack chairs and other styles) but also picnic tables. The other big plus is the large off-street parking lots (without valet), which is the biggest reason I would return (a bar farther north on Washington has almost no off-street parking and can feel crowded). The bartenders I interacted with were very personable (only remember one of their names, Robbie). My cocktail was pretty good. Only issue I encountered is that they do not take cash, only credit cards. I was caught off by this and could only find one sign, and I almost didn't notice it. My suggestion (besides accepting cash) is to post more than one sign and move the one that is posted so it faces where most people will see it upon entering (not on the far corner of the bar). Otherwise happy with the establishment, and look forward to returning to it.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this unassuming, hidden patio bar for a long time, and it didn't disappoint! The patio is huge and filled with plenty of chairs and tables. The whole area fills up quickly on the weekend though, so aim to get there before the crowd around 1:00pm. The drink selection is really awesome in that you have everything from beer and wine to signature cocktails and liquor. With how nice the drinks are, I only wish that Memorial Trail Icehouse had their own food menu. Each table is given a bucket of bagged chips, and two food trucks are the only other options for food (Mediterranean and gourmet hot dogs). These options were both really good though! The service was quite slow as my table was never approached by the outside wait staff, so expect to walk up for drinks more often than not. All things considered though, I'll be back for fun, casual day drinking!

Yelp
Come here all the time, love the people and drinks. Will continue to be a customer for a long time

Yelp
Such a great neighborhood bar. Love meeting friends and hanging out here to watch the Astros game on the projector. Great specials, Tuesday night is steak night!

Yelp
Had a good time until I saw my tab. Didn't know I would be paying Dallas prices at a beer garden. It was a friends birthday so we were drinking our old college "go-to's" for sh*t's and giggles. Anyway.....I ordered 2 beers (12 oz cans of bud light) and 2 shots of some knock-off fireball. I imagined maybe this is around $20 at most.....NOPE $42 was the charge for those beverages, for 2 cans of beer and 2 cheap shots. The bar tender looked it over, and it was correct, she agreed that it was way too high for such a measly order. Nothing was reprimanded, that quick little $42 is the last they'll see from us. Kudos.

Yelp
Love love this neighborhood bar! Specially now that we are all getting vaccinated ;-)
google avatar

Yelp
Wanted to try this place but they wouldn't let our 18yr old son in, in the middle of the afternoon.
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and love the fire pits outside! The high fence around the property feels like an escape from the city.

Emilio H.

Yelp
The crush city margarita is great! But the service here is horrible. I waited for a good 20 minutes before a bartender from way on the other side of the bar noticed me being ignored. Idk if it's the way I looked or if the other people walking up to the bar were more flashy. Idk, but it was not busy at all! My money is good and I tip even better especially working in the service industry. I'm friends with a few bar owners and trust me when I tell you that the young lady tending the bar needs more training when it comes to customer service.

Yelp
Wonderful addition to the Rice Military/Crestwood area. We were pleased with the service, quality of the cocktails, and freshness of the beer on tap. Free kettle chips are a plus. There was a food truck on site and ample seating outside on a cool night. We chose to sit at the bar and had a great time until a large group of kids, likely home from college during the break, arrived. They crowded the bar top, shouted and jostled for position in queue, and worst of all many refused to wear masks and were vaping indoors in plain view. We were disappointed that staff did not enforce the posted rules, but also understood that it is hard to do so when serving so many customers with only 3-4 staff. They did the best they could, we moved to the far end of the bar, and we still had a good time. I'll wait until winter break is over to visit again, but the staff were too nice, the drinks were fairly priced for the area, and the location is so close that I can't write it off based on one experience. Wishing this place the best of luck. Especially during these difficult economic times.

Mark M.

Yelp
Memorial Trial is one of the best bars in the area. They have tons of great beers on tap and frozens. The outdoor area is massive and right next to Memorial Park. Not much bad I can say about the place.
google avatar

Miao M.

Yelp
Like this spot on a cool/chill days. Parking is very dusty. You do have to sign up some membership to be there. Drinks are good. Services are nice. Pets friendly. Oh and the chips. They are free but brought to us when we were almost ready to leave. That made me wonder, if we didn't open the chips, will them be offered to the other customers?!

Ana P.

Yelp
Super cool spot to have a beer and sit out with the pups specially with the cool weather ! LOVE IT! Definitely visiting again

Nima D.

Yelp
Pros: It looks like a converted warehouse has a huge outdoor patio Plenty of parking. Cons: Drink prices for an "icehouse" (12+ for a regular gin and tonic) No TVs in their big patio, just a few inside No group board games, jenga, etc (there is one cornhole) Rude staff I know they're new, but they need to quickly take notes from Kirby.

Marian R.

Yelp
Great patio area. They have a good selection of beers and flavored vodka. Dog friendly and great food truck!!!
google avatar

Karissa K.

Yelp
This establishment was not acceptable. They were very rude and did not let my boyfriend in before he was having a great time and just a promotion. I genuinely believe they did not like us because of his menial actions.
google avatar

Courtney J.

Yelp
Amazing new spot that I am so excited to have in the neighborhood! Great service, awesome wine, beer, and cocktail selection, and a fun & spacious outdoor space that was absolutely perfect. New go-to for a fun day or evening!
google avatar

Jonathon M.

Yelp
Great bar. Cool venue inside with good service. Outside area is huge with cool tables but no TV's which makes it a bad place to go for game day. If they can get TV's outside then this place will be the best place to go on saturdays in Houston.

Jeff J.

Yelp
This is a fantastic bar. The neighborhood sorely needed a great, go-to neighborhood joint, and this place delivers in spades. The service was great, the atmosphere was lovely, the outdoor seating was socially distant and the food truck food was brilliant. Highly recommended as a cool after-hours hangout spot, a place to take the pups or a good get-to-know-you date place.

Steven G.

Yelp
Went for an event. Parked in the fenced in parking lot. Was there for around 3 hours. My car's back window was bashed in, and my backpack (which was hidden) was stolen. The bouncer took my number, but I was never contacted. The same thing happened to 5 other people at the same event. One of them was offered a $50 bar tab to make up for it. No apology was even issued. Can't believe the disrespect shown by the management.

Andi J.

Yelp
I was looking for a chill spot to have a couple beers, never been here, I am so glad I found this place cuz it was everything I could want from a bar and more lol. Huge patio area, super friendly staff AND customers, laid-back with cute deco, like the auditorium chairs in the bathroom.. and it's dog-friendly and the dogs are SO friendly Shout-out to manager Molly, she made us feel so welcome I felt like I was on a friends patio. I'll be telling people about it, and I'll definitely be back!

Luke B.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! Great neighborhood bar, tons of seating, and dog friendly. Very hospitable owner and staff
