Menchie's Frozen Yogurt

Phenomenal selection. Excellent service. Outstanding variety. High quality freshness and cleanliness. I frequented numerous locations all over Florida for over a decade. When I moved to San Diego I was excited to see the locations around even though they are far apart, most of which are fairly disappointing. This location is leagues above the other San Diego area locations. Definitely worth the drive from north park. So happy to finally find a location that feels like home :D

It is a great location with plenty of parking spots! They provided some little cups for customers to try out different flavors which was really thoughtful! I loved that they put the calories on each flavor’s sign, and the flavors were all really good!! We had some coconut and raspberry ice cream with mochi, strawberry balls and cheesecake pieces for toppings! They also sell big pints of ice cream and cake as well!! There were 12 ice cream machines but only 9 were working, and the topping area was a little messy and many options were out but no one refill it.

I love menchies! This is my favorite shop, the toppings are always full and usually I can get the flavors I love. I've bought 2 cakes there within the last month, they're so good! Only reason they dont get 5 stars is because the older female employee there is VERY rude, she has super poor customer service and is always in a bad mood for whatever reason. The older male employee is the total opposite and he almost makes up for the other girl, but she is juat terrible. I asked for help with a cake and one employee went to get her for one and she came out of the back and just said "what do you want" um, better customer service is what i want but okay. Anyway, All the other employees are nice and the froyo is so good!

Delicious frozen yogurt in a fun atmosphere. Twelve yogurt flavors rotate so there's always something new to discover. A multitude of toppings and even cakes make this your go to spot for frozen treats. The store is very clean with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Customer service was inadequate at best and the toppings station was filthy and not stocked.

Pathetic, there were 2 workers in there and they were closed on a Sunday afternoon due to “lack of staff” it’s a SELF SERVE PLACE! Then the worker proceeded to flip off a little kid that was outside wondering why she couldn’t get her group. Would give 0 stars if possible

The kid with the long hair has horrible service … in his phone and doesn’t keep the place clean and supplied.

Lots of flavors and toppings. Cakes and pints of ice cream also. Super clean. The gentleman at the cashier was very helpful even provided is cups for tasting. Thank you.

Her family loves coming here together. It's a cute little place with a great selection of yogurt. I think it's fantastic that they still let you sample. It makes the whole experience so much fun trying new flavors. The staff is friendly and kind and the establishment is nice and clean. Plenty of parking out front and even tables outside.

Came in this evening for an after dinner treat. Selection was delicious, plenty of parking, and super nice staff. They had a children's sitting area which was super cute. Loved the coconut and can't wait to return.

I try not to post poor reviews because every business is entitled to a bad day. I hope this was the case for this location. Ok: Here we go. 1. how is it possible to not have any chocolate? It's one of the primary flavors. I grabbed NY cheesecake and was near where the chocolate used to be. I could see the grates. There's not a sign so I tried it and gross milky water came out. ( dumped it) I decided on the NY along with the peanut butter and for a treat the crumbled Kit Kats 2. If you're going to have toppings, they need to be fresh. these were stale. Frankly, probably the reason I'd prefer for toppings to get added by the staff. I have to imagine that not everyone follows the rule of using plastic spoons to get toppings. 3. The flavors were not very good. Both were sweet and that's about it. Two stars are generous when not getting something delish

We really like this Menchie's. It's close to home and hasn't caused any disappointment. There has always been a flavor we enjoy and they seem to switch them up enough to feel there is a good variety. The fresh toppings can sometimes be a bit limited, but this is likely due to what is in season. The owner is very sweet. You can feel that he cares about his customers and they have good specials throughout the week. It's sad to see so many people who have had poor experiences here. Hopefully things have turned around and they give them another shot.

Food: chocolate frozen yogurt for my daughter with Kit Kat sprinkles and brownies. Service: when we walked in there was no one there, not even an employee at the counter. We just started to help ourselves, then eventually an employee came to the counter. Ambiance: everything was clean and all the toppings full. Parking: large shared lot in plaza with Starbucks and Round Table Pizza among other shops.

Me and my sister normally don't come here but today we decided to try it again. I'm glad that we did because there was new flavors, different toppings and everything was clean! When we went to pay this nice older man at the register told us that it is under new management and that they will be changing the flavors more often which is a win for us because before I felt they didn't have enough flavors but now they do! So if you were not coming here due to past issues come and give it another chance! I'm sure it'll change your mind. I love frozen yogurt and I'm excited to see what new flavors they have next month.

Great yogurt, good value, friendly service, and lots of unique flavor options!! I like their tart flavor the best out of the yogurt chains. It's not too sweet! There is a nice variety of dry toppings. The fruit didn't look fresh and appeared to be thawing out, but that's ok, I was in a sprinkles and candy mood that day anyway.

Ordered a birthday cake for my nieces 9th birthday and boy was I disappointed on the day I had to pickup. I ordered a cake to be made specifically like the photo they had in their book of cakes, and it turned out to look nothing like it. What a disappointment. In addition, they hire lazy kids to work here and the place is filthy. Look around and you'll see health hazards. This place is a mess. Management, please give more of a damn to whom you hire. Your location is a mess and is disgusting.

Unfortunately the service here is poor. They close down everything 15-20 min prior to the actual closing and put away majority of the toppings. I believe this location needs help I'm terms of quality workers. I love Menchies but have ran into a problem here each time I've tried to come.

The frozen yogurt flavors were good but they need to do better on the toppings. The strawberries didn't look fresh and the other toppings looked old and stale. The store looked empty until the employee came back out the back 5 minutes later. The place was clean I guess.

I was disappointed again when I stopped by for some pineapple fro yo. No tasting cups again and when I asked for a taste, they just said, sorry. There was no clerk at the front and I had to go in the back to find someone to talk to and they still didn't come out. The previous time that I came in, they were closing everything, putting up chairs, cleaning, and the place was still open for another hour or more. Poor customer service, so I won't be back.

I appreciate the extensive list of vegan/non-dairy options on your website, but whenever I come into the store, both of the non-dairy options actually available are usually fruit flavors, not desert flavors. I wish there would always be one of each available.

Morning visit for my chicks, and the cashier was very pleasant and patient. They even had the patience to let me know that Menchie's has started using their app to obtain points. Unfortunately, I didn't catch their name but their service was on point!!

Couldn't sample anything, all the flavors sucked quite honestly & none of the toppings were fresh... disappointing.

Came here at 10:15 on a Friday and they were already closed after putting the new sign saying their open till 11:00 pm.

Says online they close @ 11 guess they really don't it was 10:35 they turned lights off when I was walking up never will return

I love this location, the staff is friendly and they're always stocked with great toppings and good fruit. It's peaceful to sit outside (there's tables) and watch the sunset with a good cup of yogurt.

It's been multiple times that I've came and it's closed before the time it says online. I don't know if the problem is being short staffed or if the workers are just lazy leaving early but it need to be stopped.‍ I'm going to start going to yogurtland because I know they will be open. I literally saw the workers closing the store 20 mins earlier than the close time posted online. Save your time and gas and go somewhere else that you know will be open because you never know here.

Stopped in this Menchies after having dinner nearby. I had my go to vanilla go soft serve and tried their peanut butter flavor topped with chopped almonds for $3 and some change. The vanilla was very good and offered a terrific vanilla flavor. It was also very creamy and smooth. The peanut butter frozen yogurt was also smooth and creamy, but it needed a better rich peanut butter flavor. Its flavor was very subtle. When I get something with peanut butter, by golly I want to taste some peanut butter! The young girls working the counter and the back room as well was very cool and made good suggestion for a future stop over. The place has seating inside and outside, but I am not sure about the Wi-Fi.

Unbelievable. I custom ordered a cake for my 5yo's birthday party to pick up at noon today, and no one is here! There is a handwritten sign that says they will open at 2pm. I have tried calling all kinds of numbers and cannot reach anybody. So I'm just standing outside waiting while my entire family and 5yo are at home awaiting her cake. What a horrible disappointment. Incredibly unprofessional. I had been bringing my kids here to get froyo on a regular basis, but after this I will NEVER be back.

I really like Menchies in la mesa for frozen yogurt. I like how you can pour the ice cream yourself and do the toppings yourself. I also like how they have a $4 fill up for kids on Tuesday.

Well another disappointing frozen yogurt adventure. Their selection was crappy. Only 2 that were so so. We spent $3 there so that should give you an idea. Here is the picture of what we got. My grandson got the chocolate and I got the pineapple sorbet and the orange sorbet. Not sure if we will back to this one. The store was clean, the toppings were great but as stated the frozen yogurt selection was blah

Second time I came before closing.... 830!! The sun isn't even down yet. And ghostown! Lights off. Doors locked. They were gone. Kinda sucks

9:52pm - Myself and a few other customers show up to this location just under 10 minutes before closing (10pm) and the doors are locked... lights are still on, music playing inside but no sign of any employees in the front. We tried knocking on the window for a few minutes and also calling the store. No response. Obviously somebody was still there in the back since lights and music were still on. Makes no sense to leave it all on. Bad business to close early and ignore a handful of customers who were there before closing and knocking at the door. 10:05pm - as I sit in my car looking up other froyo joints that maybe open at this hour... This shameless employee peeks around the corner from the back of the store and emerges once she sees the coast is clear and starts sweeping... she has no care she locked out 5 customers (not related, nor with me) for her own selfish reasons to clean up and get off a few minutes early. So I exit my vehicle and take a pic of the offender.

Don't let Dalene scream at you!!!!! Only giving this place one star because it won't let me give it less than that. Went into this place today and the manager, Dalene was a very unpleasant experience as I was just trying to get froyo... there was a lady who had been waiting to pay for her froyo and I hollered in the back after this lady had been waiting for a long time, then the manager, Dalene, comes up front and goes, "YOU, OUT." and points to me and then at the front door. Confused as to how they are still in business with all the unprofessional/rude/ environment.

Great huge selection of frozen yogurts and toppings. I love the build it your own style here select the yogurts and then throw what toppings you want on. They charge you by the weight but its a super affordable prices and yummy!

We tries to go here on a Sat evening, it said they were open to 9pm but when we got there at 7:45pm and they were closed!

I spoke to a manager today and they apologized for not making the cake. They stated there was a breakdown in communication with their employees. I have decided to try them again for my daughter's cake in April. The manager seemed really sincere and I hope they follow through with the completion of the cake.

So I've visited this Menchie's maybe just a handful of times since they opened about a year ago. Really happy they finally opened one up closer to my house, just more options for frozen yogurt which is perhaps my favorite dessert. What I have noticed is they never ever seem too busy, I'm always able to pop in and grab yogurt really fast and get out. Once you have been to one Menchie's you've seen them all, they tend to all look alike. What separates the La Mesa location from the rest is how clean they keep the place. Every time I've visited here, the machines are super clean, the toppings don't look like kids have stuck hands all over them and the syrup isn't all over the floor. They also provide ample sample cups for you to just grab, no hiding behind the counter. Not really much more you can ask from in a yogurt place, prices are on par with all the other yogurt chains, nothing really different there. I do like that their rewards program is phone # based, so I don't have to carry a card around or use a stupid app. Customer service is always top notch, like I said fast and efficient here. The only downside to this place is the parking lot gets crazy here, especially now since they opened the Starbucks. But a little walking can't hurt, burn some of those froyo calories.

The staff here is great. I always try all the samples and never had a issue with someone saying something. Kept clean and refreshing products with tasty toppings. This is my go to spot for a day date. Quiet and peaceful location for the most part.

Great location and friendly customer service. A lot of promotional nights/ days! $5 fill up on Monday and Thursdays... $2.99 kids fill up your cup on Tuesdays. Rich flavors. A ton of topping choices. Easy parking. One night, the store was super cold inside and eating frozen yogurt... brrrrr... the employee took of her jacket and put it on my daughter! How sweet was that! LOVE that customer service. That was our first time there too... she earned some loyal customers! Oh and I purchased a stuffed animal cow "Mookie" for my mookie son but when I got home I noticed the stitching was weird. Camille gladly exchanged it for me. Good customer service goes a long way in my book. Good experience and tasty treats!

Camille is always there during the weekdays to greet us with a smile--she is an asset to this company and always has a friendly word for every customer! The place is spotless, and there are so many different flavors of frozen yogurt for tasting! You can use the little white sampler cups and taste different flavors (unlike some competitors who dole it out for you). The toppings are awesome--so many choices! The yogurt is cold, creamy and delicious and the selections change weekly. The pineapple is especially refreshing on a hot day. We love getting a "BOGO" coupon in the mail.

I came in today 4/20 at 8:45pm drove 15 minutes because the website says it closes at 9 for them to be closed. The girl working didn't let us in said they closed early because she wanted to go to sleep. It takes 4 minutes to get a yogurt and leave. Never coming here again and wouldn't even recommend coming in the day time if that is the type of customer service they're providing.

This is my 2nd froyo cake order at this location. 1st one was for my daughter's 2nd bday last year and EVERYONE commented how delicious it was. I decided to order one for my sister in law's bday just now for tmrw, forgetting they have a minimum 48 hour order time policy :0 But the young lady who took my order so nice and gracious enough to accept my order and put a rush on it. Great customer service and always clean when I go in. Thank you so much guys!

I was craving yogurt and found this shop listed under Doordash. I ended up ordering 2 cups of the chocolate & vanilla mix. By far the worst frozen yogurt I've ever tasted. Needless to say, I will stick to yogurtland.

Good enough yogurt and they offer a blend which is a plus. The reason for a minus two stars is I don't give one star reviews as I don't believe in blasting a business, though what I am saying is that employees could be better trained to provide good customer service in every circumstance. My experience left me embarrassed for the franchisee and I subsequently explained a better and more appropriate way of handling the circumstance to the employee and she chose to be dismissive instead of willing to look and understand how her attitude and response lost a customer of this local business.

It's SOOOO Good!!!!! And the service is great too! Me, my brother and my dad went there to eat frozen yogurt and it was delicious!!!

I like their topping selection... especially their marshmallow cream, but they could be more creative with yogurt flavors. Lots of parking and space in the plaza.

Yum! I know the flavors always change which is both fun but also disappointing as I came here and built a perfect for me fro yo with dole pineapple and coconut vanilla bean frozen yogurt. Omg so delish. I added cool whip because that's how I roll. It was so good I took my boyfriend there the next night and no coconut vanilla bean yogurt. Womp womp. Bring it back!

Great place for fro yo! I think they could work on more flavors. But over all I highly recommend for frozen yogurt.Also within 2 hours there is a $5 refill! And good customer Service.Got a lot of respect from the girl at the front dest.But she told us to get out 2 mins before the closed and kinda felt rushed. But like I said great place for fro yo.

Disappointed! Came in here so excited about a yogurt place near my home! Unfortunately they lack in good ingredients (why don't you have regular chocolate chips?) and they don't offer Water which is weird! Customer service was mediocre at best.

Some delicious flavors and the cashier Karen is so helpful and nice, she assisted me throughout the whole yogurt process, she really above and beyond. Will be returning. (:

This is our go to spot! We come here atleast twice a week! I love that they are open late, and it's never busy when we come. The flavors are always changing and it's delicious! The staff is also very sweet! My favorite flavors are Cake Batter & the Raspberry Pomegranate. - Please add a cookies & cream flavor! I have yet to see that one. Thanks :) -PS. We were not a fan of the Brownie peanut butter flavor. Sounded awesome but It had a strange taste to it, almost like a dark chocolate taste.

Thus is the best place for yogurt!! I went here with my family, and had the best experience!! The staff are as sweat as the treats!! I love the popping boba, and have never seen a place that have seen it. The flavors are great, and the topping rock!! I recommend thus place to EVERYONE!!
