"Mendocino Farms is a solid upscale sandwich shop with locations all over LA, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that one landed not far from the paddle board rental place and the old-timey shops that line the marina. If you’re thinking of hitting up Mendocino for a sandwich or a salad and heading to the marina for a picnic, it’s always a good idea to avoid the obnoxious wait times and just order online." - The Infatuation Los Angeles Crew

Loved the chicken parm dip. The chicken was fresh and not dry, and all the flavors all came together quite nicely. The crispy bits inside were great too, and the bread was also crunchy. You definitely gotta drench it in the marinara sauce it comes with too. They were busy when I went but moved quick. I do think the sandwich was a bit expensive for what you get, but it’s tasty and feels higher quality than other options.

I often shop next door at Ralph’s, and I had noticed Mendocino Farms a few times, so I decided to give it a try. That particular evening, I was craving a sandwich with steak, but I didn’t want just another hamburger. I went for the Peruvian Steak sandwich as takeout, and it was absolutely spectacular. The flavors were spot-on, and the quality of the ingredients made it an excellent value for the price. The only downside was that the wait time was a bit longer than expected, but honestly, the sandwich was worth it. Plus, the staff was incredibly friendly, which made the whole experience more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back!

Stopped here after landing at LAX as it was close to the airport. We ordered the Street Corn Chicken Sandwich and the Farm Club. Both sandwiches were absolutely delicious. The Street Corn Chicken Sandwich was packed with flavor, and the Farm Club was fresh and satisfying. They had a nice seating area outside in the center of the outdoor mall, which was a pleasant spot to enjoy our meal. However, parking wasn’t the easiest to find, so be prepared for a bit of a search. Overall, a great spot for a tasty bite close to the airport.

Google
Our go to place weekly for gourmet salad, sandwiches, soup and sides! My favorite is avocado and quinoa salad, followed by the pink lady salad which we ordered today. The turkey sausage and kale soup is also delicious. Highly recommend this over Sweet Greens next door as they are more filling and not as expensive.

I'd been reluctant to eat at any Mendocino Farms after a few disappointing experiences at the location in Studio City/Sherman Oaks. The service was so slow (like, 40 minutes for a salad). But I've been converted! The service at this location is stellar. Great people who seem to genuinely care about your experience. I ordered the Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada w/ chicken added, and it was DELICIOUS. The flavor combos are surprisingly complementary and the crunch element is so pleasing. It's a tiny bit spicy--which I enjoyed. I'll be back--both for the salad and the excellent service.

This place has great food. I felt comfortable eating here with their gluten free options. The prosciutto and chicken sandwich as well as the chimichurri steak and bacon sandwich that my fiancé and I split were both delicious on toasted gluten free bread. We ordered takeout and ended up eating in the building. The inside is pretty dirty (especially the bathrooms) and the employees were less professional than I would have liked to see, but it was toward the end of the day with about 2 hours until close, so maybe that’s why?

Super friendly and welcoming staff. Had the "not so fried " chicken sandwich and the chimichurri steak and bacon sandwich. Both were yummy and filling. Their drinks are pretty good too.

Google
High quality wraps and sandwiches full of wholesome goodness you believe at first bite. This is a chain that I like seeing when I see it. Sure, they have blue cows. But they also serve super tasting sodas and you can test their side orders - like their Super Healthy Salad, raw and full of nutritious veggies. I love their curry couscous salad, at times it can be heavy, but in small doses it's so comforting. Wine and beer served here. A few vegan options that are seasonal and always changing so you don't feel stuck to the same menu. My favorite thing has been the samosa dosa vegan wrap, it was full of Indian curried potatoes, cauliflower and peas. Please bring that back and I'll be back. Indoor and outdoor seating. Free parking.

Yelp
I'm always a huge fan of Mendocino Farms, and it never disappoints! The experience is always great, from the delicious food to the inviting atmosphere. I absolutely love the vibes and the colors of the interior is so welcoming and cozy. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy a quick meal. Prices though are okay.

Yelp
I initially loved Mendocino Farms and even left a glowing review after my first visit. But after returning several times, I've noticed some major quality consistency issues that cannot be left unnoticed. First, the soups. Their chicken lemon soup, aka a classic Greek lemon dish, was originally my favorite. But now I'm finding that some days it's an over-salted, inedible mess. It's frustrating to order something you loved before and not know whether you'll actually be able to eat it. What the ones that I've had the sandwiches are still pretty good, but even there, the execution isn't consistent. A few times, the staff forgot to toast my sandwich properly, and I've had to remind them to do so. Not a bug deal, but it's an annoyance that shouldn't happen. My biggest issue with Mendocino now, is the portion sizes though. The sandwiches are tasty but being about the same size as Subway 6" are way too small for the price. After finishing my "Not So Fried Chicken" sandwich, I'm still left feeling hungry. For example, today I had to stop by an Indian restaurant afterward just to pick up a couple of samosas to fill up. Sure, they offer side dishes, but then a Sandwich meal ends up costing $20-$30. Not worth it, I will go to a restaurant instead. Until I see more consistency in their kitchen and portion sizes that justify the price, I'm lowering my rating to 3 stars. I hope they will step up their game.

Yelp
My son, daughter-in-law and I originally planned to have lunch at Sugarfish; however, when we found out it was going to be a 40-minute wait we decided to skip next-door to Mendocino Farms. It's not a sit-down restaurant; you have to go up to the counter and order, and your waiter will bring it out to you. Service was fairly prompt but not overly friendly. However. I ordered a combo of the half "Not-So-Fried" chicken sandwich, plus a cup of tomato basil soup. The description of the sandwich, my expectations of the sandwich, and what the sandwich actually was were wildly different. Chicken was not only not fried at all, it was cold. And there wasn't a big amount of it. The sandwich was basically a bunch of coleslaw and an anemic looking tomato slice with a few slices of bland, cold chicken. Points for the tomato-basil soup though, which was hot and delicious. My son and his wife seemed to think their sandwiches (the Peruvian steak and the Happy Hippie) were pretty good. As far as ambience: Not much to speak of. It's rather like a school cafeteria. A solid three on the "meh" scale.

Catarino C.

Yelp
Had lunch from here a few times and have always been satisfied, but then I tried the "Not so Fried" chicken sandwich and yes this is by far the best sandwich from here. Customer service is always fast and friendly, it's always clean inside and there is lots of parking outside. I will def be back to this location.

Yelp
update on review... Thank you Mendocino for the really good food since my last review. Orders were correct, service was always perfect. But thank you. We order in person, & Uber eats. We love that $2 tip for the packing for takeaway.

Yelp
I recently visited Mendocino Farms and tried their tofu banh mi, and it was an absolute delight. The tofu was perfectly marinated and grilled, providing a delicious and satisfying texture. The fresh vegetables and herbs added a wonderful crunch and burst of flavor, making each bite incredibly enjoyable. The bread was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, complementing the fillings perfectly. Overall, the balance of flavors and textures was spot-on, making this banh mi a standout choice. In addition to the fantastic food, the service at Mendocino Farms was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to accommodate any special requests. The restaurant's atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, providing a great setting for a casual meal. I highly recommend Mendocino Farms for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying dining experience. This tofu banh mi is a must-try for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike!

Yelp
As chains go, Mendocino Farms is definitely one of the better ones. I've gone to several branches and they are all equally good - in both service and food. They have a good variety of sandwiches, my favorite being the Banh Mi, and lately, because I wanted more vegetables - the "happy hippy" is a really good vegetarian sandwich. When you want to stay away from bread, they have wonderful salads, most of which are salad versions of their sandwiches. For a quick meal, eating in their modern sparse store is very pleasant and the people in the counter are friendly and the place is cheerful and bright. If you prefer take out, their packaging, especially for the salads, holds up very well. This particular branch has lots of parking - though there so many restaurants around, there's a lot of competition for space.

Yelp
I can tell your favorite number is 3. I ordered chicken tenders from the kids menu. 3 tenders. 3 apples. 3 NAPKINS (??) and it took three minutes to eat it. thanks alot. since you like 3 so much, heres a three star review for you! DAY 2. You changed your favorite number? I ordered pizza melt from the kids menu. 4 pizza slices. 4 apples. (I can tell ya'll really like apples..) and literally what..4 napkins. so thanks alot. (again). P.S. just becuase you have a new favorite number, doesnt mean im changing my 3 star review. four is too much, im not gonna fall for your schemes. thanks. the lighing was fire by the way, and im ngl, i touched grass without even going outside because of that seating area with the grass. rare w mendo?? P.S.S. what the hell is a watering hole? (if ykyk..)

Celine M.

Yelp
A great spot for fast fresh food. Their salads and sandwiches never disappoint. I particularly like their farm club (normally I hate Turkey sandwiches) and their Peruvian steak sandwich. Their salads are delicious, too.

Olivia P.

Yelp
Why is everyone obsessed with this place??? Salads are so expensive and the sandwiches are mid. I'd go somewhere else. Don't get roped in people. It's pricey and not worth the hype.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Salad, but make it actually taste good! This is what you get when you come to Mendocino. I used to hate salads and dread it until I came here. Now I have a new founding love for salads and it's inspired me to eat more. The quality of the food is consistent every Mendocino location I go. They have a great reputation and rightfully so. At this location, you order and then if you are dining in, they call your name when your order is ready and bring it to you. I have to admit though, it might have been an off day but they forgot to give us our order of couscous and then also forgot to put chicken in our Chinese chicken salad. You do need to request for a tortilla for your salad because they don't give it automatically like they used to. So service is okay but still make sure to tip if you dine in since you pay before you sit. Ambiance is very casual and you can sit outside as well. Their curry couscous is the best, I get it every time I come. Perfect amount of flavor and texture. I love it. All of their drinks made in house are superb. Highly recommend any one of them. I like to mix passion fruit tea with the rose lemonade! Yum. My all time favorite salads here are Thai mango salad and the superfood quinoa avocado salad topped with their chicken. It's what made me realize salads can taste good too without having to drench it in sauce. Their Thai chicken sandwich is air fried and was great, very saucy and flavorful. Great textures. Prosciutto chicken sandwich is amazing with the glazed nuts in it for added texture and touch of sweetness. I highly recommend eating here. I haven't had anything in their menu that I don't like

Alan P.

Yelp
First time here. Enjoyed an incredible lunch that earned 5 stars for service and food. Debated between the Peruvian Steak sandwich and ultimately chose Chimichurri Steak and (Applewood Smoked) Bacon. The combination of flavors from chimichurri sauce, steak, bacon and red bell peppers (?) on a soft sesame seed roll was nothing less than epic DELICIOUSNESS! Daughter went with a bowl of chicken soup that she loved. Filtered water is available as a thoughtful option. Ambiance is better w/ outside seating options in nice weather- eating inside is fine though a bit crowded with take out orders. Friendly and efficient staff manage a steady stream of patrons.

Lauren S.

Yelp
I stop by every time I'm in the area. The Thai mango salad with chicken (and added avocado) is the chef's kiss, so so good. I accidentally received Laura's meal on my last visit but realized the mistake and the last minute. Her Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada also looked tasty but not as good as my standby.

Elaina B.

Yelp
SO good! This is by far my fav sandwich shop in LA. My mom visited town and we went there on 3 separate occasions if that's any sign to try this place out. My absolute fav is the Not So Fried with Mustard Remoulade with a side of the couscous! Service is always friendly although sometimes there is a bit of a longer wait. It's definitely worth it though!

Erika K.

Yelp
Always fresh food and great service. The sandwiches and sides always taste great. Thank you!

Cathy L.

Yelp
I always love Mendocino Farms AB's this was no exception. The goat cheese, beet salad fresh, large with a delicious light dressing. My friend got a sandwich that wasn't warm enough to their liking. Thinking they would just pop it into the microwave for a tad longer, they said they would make them a new one. They tried to insist it was ok but the restaurant wanted us to be completely happy. Thank you!!

Anita W.

Yelp
My first time here and customer service was surprisingly incredible. Cashier was helpful and patient in helping me decide what to order. Restaurant was clean, bright, and spacious, with indoor and outdoor seating. I got the hot peach sandwich and corn soup and WOW. There's prosciutto, fresh peaches drenched in hot honey, arugula, a special chili sauce, and candied almonds that gave this sandwich a range of textures and taste that was unforgettable and addictive. The bread was fresh and perfectly soft, yet hearty, which in my opinion, makes or breaks an entire sandwich.

Maddy B.

Yelp
Thanks Pedro for recommending the green juice and sweet peach goat cheese salad. It was my favorite thing I have ever gotten from here - sosososo bussin!! Too bad it's limited time only (thank god the pink lady beets and goat cheese salad tastes pretty similar)

Carmi L.

Yelp
Mendocino Farms sets a high bar for both service and culinary excellence. From the moment you walk in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The staff is notably attentive and knowledgeable, and a special thank you to Pedro for providing personalized recommendations and ensuring a seamless dining experience. The menu boasts an impressive array of gourmet sandwiches and salads, each crafted with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. The Mendo's Original Pork Belly Banh Mi is a must-try, with its rich, succulent pork belly combined with crisp veggies and a flavorful aioli. Mendocino Farms excels in delivering an outstanding dining experience through both exceptional service and exquisite food, making it a standout destination for anyone seeking a memorable meal.

Yelp
Absolutely my favourite place for sandwiches and some salads. Really tasty combinations of ingredients and dressings. Always fresh food, Very friendly staff team, Clean and nice place. Eat here or take away - love it! Highly recommend this restaurant! Oh yes, and they have amazing beverages, very unique.

Yelp
Service 5/5 : Ordered at the counter but they still bring food to our table which is nice, the workers were all very friendly as well. Food 'Not so fried' Chicken Sandwich 4.5/5 : Very yummy sandwich, a little messy, but nothing you can't clean up with a spoon . Potato Salad Side 2.5/5 : A bit too salty, would've preferred potato chunks a bit bigger so you can taste the potato more. Corn Chowder 2/5 : Texture similar to oatmeal soup, strong corn flavor which is nice, but would not order again. Definitely will come back to try other things tho! The sandwich was very good especially for the price, we got 3 things for $22 and was more than enough for 2 people. (1 119lb female and 1 169lb male)

Diondra B.

Yelp
Mendocino is always a good idea. We ding have it on the east so always stop by when there is one. I usually get the not do fried chicken sandwhich

Camille A.

Yelp
Mendocino Farms is so yummy and this location has GREAT service. I've been going to Mendo for years but what's prompting me to write this today is their seasonal Happy Hippie sandwich which is SO. GOOD. The cucumber dill ranch hits the spot. Other faves include: Mama Chen's Chinese chicken salad (add avocado, thank me later!), curry couscous, my bf loooved the chimichurri steak sandwich. Once again, service here is top notch. Everyone I've encountered is so kind and upbeat. They're so sweet! My favorite quick and healthy lunch spot.

Angie L.

Yelp
Great tasting sandwiches but they are succumbing to shrinkflation. Ordered the peruvian steak sandwich which is basically $18, and I was met with this tiny snack sized sandwich on what looks like some kind of hotdog bun. I have come to this mendocino farms in Marina Del Rey/Playa Vista many times for this sandwich and it has never been this little nor has been made on a hotdog bun. Very upsetting to see the quality go down as this was my favorite sandwich place. The sandwhich is smaller than my hand and is not filling at all. Not worth the price.

MyMy _.

Yelp
Got the chicken, Parm dip, it was super juicy, and the sauce was spectacular. The basil was fresh and me and my friends loved it.

Kyle K.

Yelp
Can't go wrong here! Great, healthy food and great service love this place and love the energy

Mary B.

Yelp
The Thai Mango salad! Similar to Houston's Thai Steak Noodle salad but even better with chicken, fried shallots and roasted almonds! So nummy highly recommend this! Outdoor seating which is typical 72 and sunny LA weather most months outside some winter days here and there between Nov to April. Parking is way easy as there's a huge lot and a Ralph's in the same plaza. Service is great. Leave your plate outside and they will get it but I always bring my in as I was trained by a strict momma! Pricey but big salad and worth it! Oh and get the extra chicken if you need protein!

Johnathan E.

Yelp
Billy provided the sandwiches for our men's conference and the food was absolutely amazing. Plus there were no issue with our orders. Highly recommend them!

Lillian F.

Yelp
Delicious food!! Good environment! Great service! Healthy food! Wonderful to sit by the outdoor fountains...

Antonio V.

Yelp
I would give this location 10 stars if I could! Great food! Clean environment! Great staff!!! Shout out to Pedro for always making me feel welcome! This is definitely my weekend spot!

Yelp
I had a small issue with a code I had. Manager Pedro resolved it quickly and friendly. Food was awesome as always! Thanks Pedro

Cecilia A.

Yelp
Craving awesome sandwiches and unique salad? This is our go-to if we're just tired of fixing our own. Easy online ordering system. Picked up the Chimichurri Steak w/bacon for the hubby, and the Avocado Quinoa Superfood Salad + tofu for me. Sadly they forgot the 2 Oatmeal Cookies which are usually superb and the spicy chips. Called them, said they'd issue refund... this has never happened so now I have to verify that I got my entire order if ordering take-out again. -1star. Sigh! In case you dine in: In-store and outdoor tables available.

Rosario L.

Yelp
Love coming here with my husband. Very healthy ingredients and delicious subs/ soups. We have tried them all but our favorite sub is the Chimichurri Steak & Bacon with a side of roasted tomato basil soup. The restaurant itself is very clean and spacious. the customer service is on point. Management there by Pedro Mendez is incredible! He is always going out of his way to get our order correct. Recommend coming to this location! Quality food and quality service!

Amy C.

Yelp
What a marvelous lunch we had today - the general manager, Pedro went out of his way to make us feel welcome and taken care of! Exceptional food - the peach salad is an A plus! Delicious lemonades! Yummy veggie sandwich!

Justin R.

Yelp
Thank you to the manager at this location for his customer service. They messed up our order and he went out of the way to proactively remade it super fast. He offered to comp because we have a food allergy and they still added the item he asked not to be in it. If I would have taken a bite, it would have been bad! But they redeemed themselves and the sandwich was fire.

Aaron H.

Yelp
I continue to line Mendo... a little sad the Study of Heat is missing, but life doesn't stand still. Good potato salad, friendly folks. No run to UPS is complete without a sandwich.

Gabrielle G.

Yelp
I fell in love the Mrs. Goldfarb's Unreal Reuben!! I've had it multiple times since this pic I took, and here's a hint: ask for extra slices of "meat" !! I always take the "no cheese" route to make my meal perfectly vegan and it's like the cheese wasn't even needed for how delicious this sandwich is. I also ordered the Beets and Quinoa salad as a side, but I'm starting to realize that not all locations have this option. Nonetheless, order the Reuben and have your whole life changed!!

Truth B.

Yelp
This place is my jam. Turkey Avo and a large curried couscous please. Everytime. Always perfect.

Dijana J.

Yelp
Is there a better Tofu Banh Mi in this area?? Definitely not! Service is quick but you can also order online and pickup inside. Order is usually ready in 10-15 min. Love the outdoor seating and eco friendly packing.

Kass M.

Yelp
Love love love this place! Their salads, their sandwiches, even their lemonades are so light and delicious. I tend to get their chicken caprese sandwich and their Thai mango salad every single time because it is that tasty. The service is whatever tbh and the ambience is nice but since the location is a bit small, I prefer to sit outside and enjoy my meal with some sunlight. Overall a really enjoyable lunch spot.

Isabel D.

Yelp
It was my first time here and right off the bat the service was A1! The manager that helped me out gave good recommendations and assured me if I didn't like it I was able to change it for something I wanted. Everyone is nice here. Sandwich was bombbbb!

Oleksandr V.

Yelp
horrible place. do not recommend Always busy and dirty you can spend here day better choose another place

Amelia G.

Yelp
Food is fresh and the customer service is great, would definitely bring a friend with me next time!

Tanya W.

Yelp
I just love this location. Therese a nice spot to sit outside. Their sandwiches are perfect and the staff has always been friendly.

Craig H.

Yelp
Always absolutely delicious sandwiches with fresh ingredients and amazing flavor, served quickly. Always happy to get a chance to grab lunch at Mendocino Farms. The weather at this location in Marina del Rey was perfect for eating outdoors.

Joellen C.

Yelp
My Ranking: * peruvian steak ($13.95) on potato roll plus Avocado ($1.75). STOLE the show. Was our absolute favorite. The potato roll which tasted like brioche, was topped with a flavorful and juicy sauced up steak. The avocado was not needed and kind of made the sandwich mushy. * pork belly ciabatta bahn mi ($12.65) - an Asian American fusion bahn min. Not quite a bahn Mi but extremely fresh tasting and amazing sauce. The thick pickled carrots and radishes were a nice touch. * not so fried chicken sandwhich ($11.75) - lightly breaded chicken with a generous portion of lightly dressed coleslaw on ciabatta. Was voluminous in size and tasted quite fresh. * Thai mango salad with ramen noodles with Thai almond dressing ($14.30) - tasted like a unique an elevated Asian chicken salad. The mango was quite sour but didn't detract from the taste. The noodles were a nice carb addition to the salad. A lighter healthier option than the other sandwich options. * Chimichurri steak & bacon on a sesame roll ($13.90) - the sesame roll was too crunchy/hard/dry. Personally a very plain sandwich compared to the other choices. Flavors were straightforward as it tasted like Chimichurri, steak, and bacon. * Chimichurri steak & Shishito bowl ($15.10) - the pickled red onions were a great touch. Flavor was there, overall a very enjoyable and hearty bowl. Compared to the others the only downfall was the steak was a bit tough, some of the shishito peppers altered from bitter to spicy (although surprisingly the bitter paired with the slightly sour mainly sweet pickled red onions and lemon was still quite tasty). Overall a very delicious & hearty bowl, just other items out ranked it. --- Love Mendocino for their taste but sometimes it can get a tad oily would get again for sure :) The Culver City location has free 30 min parking in the garage and also a round about behind the restaurant for quick pick up/loading zone.

Ronda L.

Yelp
Great value for the amount of food and how fresh it was! All this food + a glass of wine was a little over $40 USD which is amazing service was excellent and friendly. Popular lunch spot!
