Absolutely one of the finest well crafted sandwiches establishments I've ever been to. As you can tell I've been to quite a few. Below are four of the sandwiches that we tasted in every single one of them were exceptional. We had the crispy chicken the slow summer heat the pork belly and then we also had the steak. Each one of these sandwiches were distinct in their own nature with an amazing array of taste that followed. This was my first time going to this location but I guarantee that I will return is in the future. When you're in downtown Houston this is a must stop for you if you haven't been here before amazing price is great food friendly faces the manager was exceptional as was the rest of his crew.

Awesome experience , customer service was great , cashier was patient and explained prices and sizes . I highly recommend the vegan bahn mi , food was hot , fast and there was table service . music , temperature , service altogether was very good except the dining area needed to be swept and tables had to be cleaned . Not very appealing to eat across tables that had trash on the floor and crumbs all over the table . overall , great 4.5/5 stars

Been here many times and will still be back . Been here for work purposes and with friends for a happy and hearty meals . Loved everything. will be back whenever we get a chance to ! Staff was courteous and prompt. it can get busy but place is clean and nice ! Loved all your salads and sandwiches. Couscous is my favorite. Mango salad and vegetarian caprese is my favorite ! Not so fried is my husband’s all time favorite. Do give them a try if you are around and wanting to have a meal which is stomach friendly !

I'm giving you guys five stars cause I come here every other day to get one sandwich & it always makes my belly happy and the pomegranate mint lemonade too.... But yesterday I went & it was gone :( the sandwich is no longer on the menu... my heart is shattered!!. SUMMER IS OVER SEPTEMBER 22nd!!! Bring the street corn chicken sandwich back pleaseeeeeee!!! If you wanted to break my heart you could have did it another way that didn't involve my belly and tastebuds being betrayed!!!!! Also I loveeee the lemon cheesecake cookie & the guava lemonade ! P.S. please discuss with your customers when you take something off the menu!!! I've been depressed since !

Went here for lunch. The sales lady was nice enough to help us by highlighting key menu items and sides. She was also very patient when we took some time while ordering. Food was served quickly, they were fresh, good portions, unique and yummy. The server asked for our feedback.

Food is amazing!! I tried while in Houston on business. I have a soy allergy, and they looked at everything to make sure I could eat my meal with no issues. Lindsey C is the greatest, sweetest, most memorable person!!! I was going to try several cafes (like Tout Suite, and a few others) but their lack of service had me walk out and gladly return to Mendocino Farms. Lindsey remembered our conversation and helped make sure my order was once again soy free. What a gem. Excellent food, love the rose lemonade, and the walnut cookies!! My new go to!

Delicious sandwiches, but at power lunch prices (makes sense given the area). I had the bistro steak sandwich, and the flavors were utterly fantastic. The portion size is small, however, and I thought the side dishes we ordered—the pasta shells of the day and red beet & quinoa salad—were underwhelming (though my lunch partner disagreed as to the beet & quinoa salad). Because the sandwich was so good, I'll be back.

Working with a contractor several floors above and this cute restaurant was located below. Plenty of seating, would recommend if you're in the area and already have business in that area (I.e. paid contracted parking) if not, I fear parking may be steep. Love the decor and everything about the establishment! I ended up getting their pesto checked sandwich with chips and a water. The pesto was freshly grounded with fresh chicken and greens. It took this dish to the next level!! I didn't get a chance to experience the customer service.

Delicious sandwiches, salad & soups served in a clean, bright space with warm hospitality. I really liked the Banh mi and Fried chicken sandwiches, Thai sweet potato soup, and Pesto Pasta salad. Really fresh tasting and healthy ingredients. Must recommend for lunch in Houston Downtown!

Service was helpful, informative, and friendly. Somebody is on hand to answer questions about the menu. You scan a QR code that's on the table to signal where your food is brought out to, pretty neat. It's super clean and and airy inside. This is the place I'd meet someone if I wasn't sure I'd enjoy their company haha. Fast casual feel and the food is brought out quickly. The food itself is better than the fast food junk you might go for on your lunch hour. It's healthier and and tastier. Good range of different types of sandwiches and cold sides. Would've appreciated some hot options that weren't soup. They also have fresh lemonade and juice!

I had lunch at this Mendocino Farms location this afternoon primarily because they had a great promotion for the Houston Marathon - buy one, get one free - if you show your race bib. I love Mendocino Farms so I couldn't resist, plus this location was really conveniently located to my hotel. Despite downtown looking a bit desolate (combination of a Monday holiday and some sort of arctic freeze), I met a friend for lunch and enjoyed the peace and quiet in the restaurant! The staff greeted us and were so welcoming, ensuring great customer service. For food, I ordered my go-to, the Pink Lady Beets & Goat Cheese Salad with the dressing tossed in and a side of the Spicy Curried Couscous while my friend ordered Mama Chen's Chinese Chicken Salad with the dressing on the side as she was nervous about how mustardy it might be. We both very much enjoyed the experience from start to finish, particularly our food! Generous portion sizes, fresh, and reasonably priced. I will continue to be a huge fan of Mendocino Farms!

Located in downtown on the heart of Main Street, this location caters to the downtown corporate lunch crowd. Interior is spacious and clean and they even have an extra staff there to literally stand by their menu and answer questions. Got the pork banh mi ($13) and a side of Mac salad ($5). The banh mi is extraordinarily overpriced compared to any other banh mi, and more so since it's just on a ciabatta bread and not an actual foot long baguette. The flavor combo and sauce was surprisingly solid, so that's a plus. Flavor wise, this is a solid 4/5 for sandwiches. Value/portion wise, it gets a 3/5 for me; most of their sandwiches are the size of a ciabatta bread and hovering around $13, which is quite steep considering the alternative lunch options nearby in Chipotle, Halal Guys, etc. Solid 3.5 star joint!

Mendocino farms is located in downtown Houston and is a hotspot for lunch among the office gangs. I imagine trying to get here if you aren't already downtown is a rather unnecessary hassle. But for those of you who do find yourself downtown, this is a great lunch spot. Service is on the slower end in comparing it against the other nearby lunch hotspots. However, if you aren't in a hurry, the time is well spent for a fresh meal. They have a great selection of sandwiches and salads. My favorites are the following: - chicken proscuitto - chicken Parm - Mediterranean salad For sides: - curried couscous - dan dan noodles (this is relatively new) Pro-tip: they don't display them but they have coke and diet coke sold by the can. We can keep this secret between us pretend healthy folk.

A decent option for a healthy lunch. On my first visit I tried Mama Chen's Chinese Chicken Salad, which I thought was well below average as it was pretty small without a lot of flavor. I was back on a separate day with friends, and I tried The Modern Caesar - so much better! It comes with curly kale, chopped romaine, housemade superfood krunchies, shaved Grana Padano cheese, red onions, grape tomatoes, avocado, and lemon squeeze with classic Caesar dressing. I would also recommend adding the shaved, roasted chicken breast (+$3). While over $10 seems like a lot to pay for a salad, I would likely order The Modern Caesar again. That being said, this place seems to be a hit or miss depending on what you order. I've heard that there are some good sandwiches here which I plan to try in the future!

I have been a frequent customer at Mendocino Farms and have always loved their salads. However, recently I noticed that the salad bowls are only half full for the same price of $18. When I brought this up to the manager, I was told that the salads are measured and that's how they are now. It's disappointing to see the portion size decrease when it used to be full and satisfying. I hope Mendocino Farms takes this feedback into consideration and brings back the full salads that kept me coming back as a customer. Save your money and go to Sweet Greens

Food here is always amazing and service with a smile to boot! They lose a star just because it's not sustainable for regular visits due to the very high prices.

Food it good for a fresh feeling food I usually got for a salad. Service is good not complaints, and ambience is good nothing super fancy very casual.

Listennn.. I thought I'd had a good sandwich before.. but this is top tier. #1 sandwich on my top 10 list. I got the not so fried chicken sandwich delivered through favor. Package was real secured, I like the minimalistic packaging style. So good, amazing, I'm a sauce girl, didn't dip it once. I forgot to even eat my chips until after. Don't ever change. oh I forgot the cookie, baby. ‍ just get the cookie. Update: I went back. Man so so good. Even better the second time. SN: did you know, they fill they chip bags all the way up. Name another brand you know moving like that. Enough for my whole sandwich eating experience.

This appears to be a chain of sandwich shops. I stopped by this one while working upstairs at the wework -- it's located in a nice new upscale office tower. I ordered online, and my food was ready a few minutes before the time I specified, and it was readily accessible on a self-pickup. I had the Vegan Banh Mi -- which had tofu. It was really good -- even if I weren't trying to avoid meat, I would recommend it. I'd be tempted to go 5 stars, except the menu didn't have many veggie options (though the one they did have was, like I say, great).

Great customer service and delicious green juice. Young lady in purple hair in front is a pleasure to talk to and had awesome food suggestions. Got a Vegan Banh mi even tho I'm a total Meat Eater. She told me she was too but liked it a lot. So I'm giving it a try! Took my Vegan Banh mi to Lifetime to eat before working out. Makes me feel even healthier

i was in downtown houston and looking for a lunch place so decided to try mendocino farms. i have never been but heard good things about it. i tried their half sandwich + deli side as well as their cookie and another deli side. I ordered the vegan banh mi with tofu along with the spicy couscous and and a separate side got the pesto pasta salad. The flavors for both the couscous and the pesto pasta salad were good - the couscous was spicy - but the portions were very small; it was more of a petite side or a tasting portion rather than a deli side. the sandwich was good and was a decent portion - the sauce that comes with banh mi is also spicy. the cookie was decent overall decent flavored food but small portions

The vibes, price, food, and people are just as hipster and yuppie as you'd expect. But I mean this in b the most positive way. Everything trialed was tasty. But I would literally crawl 1 mile on hot coal for the curry couscous. Holy moly!!! Sooooo good. One of the best side dishes I've ever had! Also really enjoyed the hot honey peach? And the chicken caprese sandwich. Didn't try the Thai mango salad (a true salad lover)but my friend enjoyed island what I saw, looked fresh, plentiful and tasty. Service was great! The place is definitely a "happening" spot so don't expect a quiet brunch or lunch. Final grade: B+ Definitely going to go back. Might try some if their other locations.

The best comparison I can make to this place is a Panera Bread, but Mendocino Farms is a more expensive and blander version of PB. I ordered a turkey sandwich and lemon chicken soup, both of which had no flavor. It's such a shame because I could tell the lemon chicken soup had a lot of potential. Service is pretty good, but be careful about going here during lunch hour because there are a ton of people and the wait is quite long.

This is my first time ordering at Mendocino for a team building luncheon. I order Chimichurri Steak & Shishito Bowl $15.10 4/5 stars. This bowl was amazing and very light. All the combinations in this bowl was yummy. This bowl consist of roasted, carved steak over ancient grains tossed with caramelized onion jam and chimichurri with baby spinach, roasted shishito peppers, broccolini & tomatoes, and a side of grilled lemon (740 cal). Would I order again? Yes I would, however I would like to try other things.

A big fan of Mendocino Farms. Food is always great, vegetables very fresh but still flavorful. I came during lunch hour on a weekday and food still came out fairly quick. The only minor issue is that it took a while to order because there was no one at the cash register for quite a while. Parking can be a bit difficult just bc it's downtown. However it's located in an area with lots of other restaurants so there is a parking garage just around the corner, but it's not free.

Mendocino Farms is my go to for corporate lunches. Great, fresh food! What makes them more awesome? The service. I get to work with Tatiana lots and she is absolutely, hands down, the most efficient, friendly and helpful staff I have ever worked with. Her service even makes the food taste more delicious than it already is!!!!

Something isn't right lately I have gotten not so fried sandwich for the last 3-4 years .. lately it doesn't taste as good

From the moment I stepped through these large glass doors. I felt at home, except less yelling and screaming. Alex and Lindsey took such good care of us. It was our first time here they helped us cultivate the perfect meal tailored to our taste buds. I fear that never again Will I have such a pleasant eating experience. I will be back soon.

My children and I don't often eat out but when we do it's a treat and eating at Mendocino Farms was indeed a treat. When we eat out we are always looking for healthier options and quality food. We were not disappointed. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate and make sure we felt welcomed.The two greatest things was seeing the manger,Ms. Talika, paying for pizza (not chain restaurant pizza but good local pizza) for the staff. Lastly, they blessed use with fresh cookies. They just brought them right over as we were finishing our meal. Hey! you love on the kids, I'm sold for life. We will definitely be back.

Being in downtown these days is nice especially when you have great places to eat. I have heard some debates about the food being expensive but what you eat is what you are. So I guess I'm expensive lol... Anyways I found this place is very clean and has plenty of windows and views of street walkers (downtown zombies) looking for places to eat or just taking a stroll. There is plenty of seating for small and medium size groups, but those big parties might want to use their catering services or order to-go takeout. Located in the federal district in downtown this gem is a vegan or vegetarian's dream come true. Oh yeah there are those who just come here to eat salad once a week like me. This place has a great selection of options for non-veg, non vegan folks too. I had the tuna melt and potato leak soup one day and then came back for the amazing avocado quinoa super salad a bunch of times. To drink they have some iced tea, lemonade, filtered water, and sodas. They also have bags of chips that you can grab if you like something to snack on when you get back to your desk. I really like their lemonade though so if you have not tried it, it's worthy of mention. I will continue to try different items as I have yet to be disappointed in anything i tried. The soup once came out a little warm rather than hot and so I mentioned it on the way out and they even offered me a soup to go, but I declined the nice gesture. Good customer service and fairly decent prep and delivery time to your table. Yes they actually bring the plates to you even though they give you a buzzer.

Fabulous service and DELICIOUS FOOD! So I'd never had a Banh Mi or Cous Cous before eating here and now I'm absolutely obsessed!! The Banh mi here is vegan, by the way. I'm not vegan but I love exploring healthy options like this so this was fabulous. The Cous Cous is a bit spicy - my favorite! Oh, and if you order a side with your entree, you get UNLIMITED samples of the deli sides and soups. So cool! That way you can test them out before deciding which one to order. The restaurant itself is super cute inside as well as very clean. The staff was very friendly as well as helpful, too! Thanks for bringing a delicious, healthy restaurant to Houston!!!

Man these sandwiches are amazing...lots of flavors. I really enjoyed the chicken and prosciutto sandwich, though I heard from some people that it had too much going on it. Idk, for me it was perfect, but I did remove the bread to cut back on some carbs. Also had tried the not so fried chicken and had its on flare with the mendo krispies...do ask them what this means since I do not remember what they said. I also got a curried cauliflower soup and it was very good if you like curry that is. It was very busy of course most new restaurants will be, but I do see this place once the shine wears off it still staying busy for the foreseeable future. Definitely a must try place.

Came here for a pre-open/soft open for downtown residents. Food and service were both spectacular. I got the Hot Italian sandwich, curry squash soup, and fresh squeezed lemonade. Sandwich is a perfect combination of meat, cheese, and veggies. It's spicy enough to have a bit of kick to it, but not light-your-mouth-on-fire spicy. Meat is also high quality - flavorful and plentiful, not just a few thin shavings of papery fat like some sandwich places like to dish out. The squash curry soup is rich, creamy, and flavorful with a small hint of spiciness. I was particularly impressed with it because I normally turn up my nose at vegan food, but this is something I'd actually order again. Lemonade is made fresh from actual lemons and sugar, not juice concentrate or kool-aid powder. The place itself has a bright, open, welcoming atmosphere, even after dark. This is definitely a nice place to come and grab a snack in the evening if dark, dimly lit places aren't your scene and you don't feel like trying to navigate a food court. All around, excellent experience, and a welcome newcomer to downtown.

The most gorgeous place in Downtown to get a killer sandwich . They're a farm to table restaurant. You can taste the freshness in the food. Totally recommend the "not so fried chicken" sandwich. It was to die for!! If you don't like cold sandwiches beware as most of these are cold. Wish I would have known that before ordering as I'm not fond of cold sandwiches. I ordered the Chicken & Prosciutto and my mom ordered the same one but changed the bread to the whole wheat, hers was much more warmer than mine(probably bc her bread was thinner). I totally recommend this place, food is great. They even had what looks like kid seating or possibly wheelchair friendly.

Mendocino farms is a "local oriented" type of restaurant that prides itself on a short distance supply chain of healthy foods, and boy did they deliver! I heard how good it was from a friend who had it catered for a work event, but I think its even better in person since the food is so fresh. A tip on the salads they have - they let you have a sample while ordering which is nice, similar to ice cream places. I got the chimichuri pretzel sandwich which had some beef, lots of flavor, fresh pretzel bun, and overall a delightful combination of light ingredients and heavy beef that made every bite a multi step experience. The curried couscous was a bit on the creamier side, but had great seasoning. I was expected it to be a little lighter, but the flavor was fantastic nonetheless. I'm happy to see that Mendocino farms has a few locations in Houston, definitely a place I'll go to again!

I thought about giving one star in proportion to how often they've gotten my order correct, but I'm giving an extra star because I really like the food. I work in the building above the restaurant and probably pick up food from here at least twice a month. 8 out of 10 times the order is wrong and I have to go back. Now when I order pickup, I just open it in the restaurant to make sure it's right (which it usually isn't). It seems to me like they don't really pay attn to the modifications of their sandwiches even though the modifications are listed on the receipt provided with the sandwich... they just give the standard order listed on the menu. I wish I could say it it just at peak lunch hours or only happens when I order pickup on the app, but it even happens at off peak hours when I order at the register. At this point, it's just amusing how consistently wrong my order is. A big part of the reason I go is bc of the convenience but I end up wasting more time by having them redo the order.

Amazing food! Last time I had the sweet thai chicken sandwich and this time I tried the strawberry chicken salad. It did not disappoint! Great service again, too!

This place is AMAZING!! Not only was the food delicious, but the customer service was OUTSTANDING!! I went with a group of work people paying with company cards and I left my itemized receipt. I called and talked with someone on staff and the emailed it to me in minutes. I really expected to have to go back in person to get it, but nope. The wonderful folks here helped me with a great attitude and fast!! Thank you to the whole team - we will definitely be back!! And I recommend the Taco Salad - the ingredients were fresh, plentiful, and oh so yummy!! Thanks, again!

Brand new, clean restaurant. Went during the business lunch rush and though the vast amount of employees behind the counter appeared to be chaotic and flustered, they were very friendly and efficient. I ordered the 1/2 farm sandwich and small potato salad. The sandwich was mediocre: I did not appreciate the black, withered mixed salad pieces in it. Should be fresh and green, especially since this is a cold sandwich and the restaurant advertises freshness. The aioli, onions, and avocado spread helped pop the flavor because the chicken had none. Bacon also helps any sandwich taste good! Lol. But overall the sandwich was not worth the price. Interesting flavors in the potato salad. I felt it tasted much better than it looked! I was nervous at first but it was very good. For $11.10 I think this lunch meal should come with a drink or a cookie to help seal the deal. I was still hungry after and I don't need to eat alot of food to get full. 3 stars for the price, bad lettuce, and the messy presentation of the sandwich.

There are so many cool restaurants to choose from in Houston but this one just went on top of my list as one of the coolest. The owners only buy from local farmers and they cut out the middleman and buy directly from local farmers. So the fruit is the freshest and the vegetables are the healthiest. It gives the whole experience better than those chain restaurants. We went to the Downtown location for a brief lunch. The ambiance was clean, bright and detailed. I had the Autumn Harvest salad. The greens were crisp and delicious. It had a nice grilled chicken, with nuts and fresh fruit. It css as me with a nice vinaigrette. It comes with a whole wheat tortilla. I also tried the Greek lemon chicken soup. It had a nice chicken broth with barley. This paired nicely with my autumn harvest salad. We ordered at the counter and the food was delivered to our table in fifteen minutes. We even spoke with the manager who checked in on us. Great food, service and hospitality. Located in the Downtown market right on the corner with some meter parking. We'll be back!

One of my new favorite places in Houston. They always come through with fresh ingredients and delicious flavor combinations. We try to get new dishes each time but find ourselves coming back to some of their stars. A personal favorite is their Chicken and Prosciutto Sandwich and chicken prosciutto salad. Sometimes the sandwiches can be slightly overpowered by the bread, but the salad is perfect. I'm also a fan of their Hot Italian Sandwich. Probably wouldn't order the Banh Mi sandwich again. Tasted bland and too much bread. Sides are tasty and they change things up seasonally. However, portion sizes are slightly overpriced for what you get. Overall, I am excited to keep coming back here and see what else they come up with. I'll admit, sometimes I read menu items and am not jazzed about the ingredients especially when almost all healthy. But this place has a way of taking fresh and healthy and making it mouth watering.

Very beautiful place, very modern and appealing ambiance but didn't deliver on flavor if I'm honest. Wish they'd back up the concept and decor with great tasting food. You place your order at counter and they bring you food but that's far as the service goes. No manager checks or anything. Lots of employees hanging out. My salad was overdressed and the flavor of the dressing overpowered everything else. Not ideal. Definitely would not return for the food sadly. But hey great pictures! Very instagrammable place!

Spent an hour here for lunch and it was an hour well spent! I had the impossible burger and it came with vegan cheese! I'm lactose intolerant so this burger was perrfectttt and tasted FANTASTIC! Such a good vegan burger so juicy and yummy, I'll be back for sure! Love the clean healthy but scrumptious options Mendocino Farms!!

Never feel guilty coming here. Healthy food with lots of flavor and variety. I always end up finishing my whole salad. I don't even eat salads that often.

I come here often and the quality, cleanliness, and service are always good. Erica runs a good operation and takes care of people. Good place and worth visiting.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food and tasty beverages! The restaurant is very open and well lit. There is a good flow between ordering, picking out your sides and drinks and then getting to the seating area. A very welcome place to get great food!

Did an online order but called ahead because of a food allergy. Was told the item had none of the food I asked about in it but they said to add a note to the order. There was no place in the order to add note and since the person confirmed multiple times that item was ok we orders it. Item came with food I asked about on it. Very disappointed. Others enjoyed their meals.
