Menge

"Christoph Menge cooks ambitious, flavoursome food that is both contemporary and classic. Dishes include sweet and sour schnitzel and Bavarian cream dessert with a duo of rhubarb, which is bound to set your taste buds tingling. Depending on the season, the menu also includes local Galloway beef, game and lamb." - Michelin Inspector

I stayed at this place late around late February. Due to a variety of reasons, I arrived at the place quite late (around 10.00 pm on Saturday). Despite the fact that the restaurant closed its doors at that time, Friederike manage to make it happen, and I got some food and glass of good wine. I really got service first class there. The hotel itself is very nice. Modern, clean and quite the fact of being just few meters from main road. Breakfast was great (I got my porridge) with enough variety of food to satisfy most guests. I would highly recommend this place for any visitors. I just wish I had more time to try the restaurant. I have heard good words a bout it :)

Great Hotel! friendly family running it, 7th generation! Amazing food. Nice walking tracks in the surrounding hills. A home away from my New Zealand home. Thank you

My wife and I attended a reception in the garden of the hotel. We had no expectations and were very much impressed with the level of service and quality of the food. During the evening, the hotel set up bonfires that created a unique atmosphere. The staff were really friendly, spoke good English.

we have now stayed twice at this hotel for short hiking trips around Arnsberg/Sauerland. staff very friendly and helpful with tips. rooms were very comfortable and breakfast very good. we especially enjoyed the evening meals, and the five course menu was an absolute highlight. we can certainly recommend and will be back.

We were received very nicely and had a nice seating area. The quality of the products used was great, but the courses were rather uninspired. I would have hoped for a taste adventure rather than plain comfort food. Overall a pleasant evening, but I wouldn’t come again.

Great, friendly and really professional family staff. The kitchen was a true positive surprise, with a well furnished cellar.|Rooms are brand new and nicely decorated.|An overall extremely positive experience, one of those kind of very good and friendly family hotel !

Clean, attractive, family run hotel, just outside the historic centre of Arnsberg, which is an important place along the well know Ruhrtalradweg (long distance cycle path). We had not booked, but were warmly welcomed. Plenty of garage room (and repair tools) for the bikes. Convenient room, though the nearby main road caused much noise early in the morning (5.30), so you'd be well advised to keep the window closed. Fine breakfast, great service, always with a smile. Just a pity the sun did not shine, but that really was something the staff could not do anything about.

Very friendly and helpfull staff, newly renovated and ideally located between the river and the old Arnsberg castle. It's a beautiful area to go exploring.
