The Best Restaurants in Paris, According to a French Food Expert | Eater

"Right in the heart of the city, midway between the Opéra Garnier and the Louvre, you’ll find a cluster of Japanese and other Asian restaurants along Rue Sainte-Anne and adjoining streets. Stop by the very popular Menkicchi for some gyoza and a bowl of some of the city’s best ramen. The regulars love the Le Speciale ramen, which comes with handmade noodles in rich pork bouillon, a marinated egg, a slice of pork breast, and seaweed. Located in the 1st arrondissement. Best for: A quick affordable bite in the heart of Paris." - Alexander Lobrano

Very good miso ramen, with lots of vegetable depth and just the right amount of saltiness. Noodles are a little thicker than normal which is fine. The char siu is thin slices. I liked the egg. The karaage was interesting in having seaweed in the batter. A little too salty for my taste but really well made. I recommend getting it due to its excellent texture. Overall very good ramen place, worth waiting in line if not too long.

The best ramen you can get in Paris! The quality of the producta was really high, the ramen were delicious, big portions, great value for money. I highly recommend it if you want a Vegetarian ramen , otherwise options with pork. Cute, small restaurant, good service

Ramen was decent. Not really the type of ramen I had in Japan or north america but still tasty. Could be the difference in ingredients. The noodle, especially, was not like any other ramen noodle i've had before. Taste and texture was more akin to pasta than ramen. However, the biggest disappointment, in otherwise a perfectly acceptable dining experience, was the fact that they added a tip to my credit card bill. I understand this is illegal in France. I may be wrong. However, businesses should not treat tourist customers as someone they can easily target and treat differently from locals. So for tourists, I would not recommend.

Google
Very tasty authentic ramen with decent portion of food and they are generous on giving the soup, which I like it a lot. The only downside is it’s a little too salty (egg as well) which makes it overall heavy after eating. The spicy ramen is not spicy at all. The fried dumpling and Karaage are both very tasty and juicy! Long queue is expected but definitely worth it!

Small, but a gem! Tried their shio, shoyu, miso, all had a hint of different catch to it. The pork is so soft and good. The broth paired well with the thick ramen. Recommend to give it a try.

I recently visited Menkicchi Ramen and it was a great experience. The restaurant is tiny and does not accept reservations so we had to wait for 1 hour outside and it was 0 degrees. Other than that, the service is quite nice and quick! The waiters are always smiling and the atmosphere is okay. The chefs cook in front of you its quite nice to watch them. The food is delicious, thick and their is good flavour. There is two options if you don’t eat pork and this is quite limiting. Portions are generous and quite fair prices. I recommend to visit it but if you don’t eat pork try to find other places as there is no beef or chicken Ramen.

I encountered some hygiene issues during my recent visit. Unfortunately, I found myself chewing on an elastic band in the ramen, which was quite off-putting. Additionally, the toilet was dirty and had a strong unpleasant odor. The food was overly salty too.

Yelp
One of the last meals we had in Paris and it did not disappoint. Fun little place with a great atmosphere. Nice a crowded, noisy and elbow to elbow. Just what we wanted! Food was out quick, nice and hot, tasty and good portion sizes! Loved getting to sit at the bar and just relax and enjoy the space. Would recommend!

Yelp
Really really good ramen across all components (broth, noodle quality, ancillary toppings). The staff is very pleasant. Appreciate that both still and sparkling water is offered here, that's quite unique! The noodles are thicker than most places, which we liked a lot; cooked perfectly al dente as we requested. We ordered garlic topping - which you are given fresh garlic and a masher, and you mash as much garlic into your bowl as you want. Fair warning - little goes a long way! Only downside was the wait. There were a couple 2-person tables, but they didn't seat and (purposely?) kept empty. We waited almost 40 min when there were empty tables for our party size.

Yelp
Fixed my ramen cravings. Tony little joint along Japanese restaurant row on Saint Anne. Great overall enjoyed ramen, service. 4 stars as ramen was way salty to my taste. Sorry Ramen snob here so I know what I'm talking about.

Yelp
MICE. Saw one run across the floor of the dining area. Told the server, and she just shrugged. NO BATHROOM. Ridiculous for a sitdown restaurant. RUDE. Very impatient with ordering. Did not write down the order and forgot to add requests to ramen order. Ramen was okay. Nothing special. Broth, noodles, pork, seaweed. Have to order egg and pay extra. Pork was a little dry. There are lots of other choices. Go there instead.

Yelp
Menkicchi is a great ramen place located in Palais Royale Paris, France. This area has a bunch of different Asian restaurants and Menkicchi is one of the best. The interior pays homage to an authentic Japanese ramen restaurant. The service was slow, and they forgot our gyoza order, but they made up for it by getting it to us quick. The food was fantastic. It was some of the best ramen I've had, if not THE best. I got the miso ramen and I would highly recommend it. If you like spicy, I would add some chili oil that they provide on the side. The gyoza we ordered was also delicious, so if you are hungry I would 100% order it on the side or to share. If you find yourself in Palais Royale I would definitely give Menkicchi a try. It's for sure a place to go for lunch, and we didn't have a problem just walking in. I would still make a reservation in advance if possible because the restaurant is pretty small.

Yelp
Cool little spot in the Rue Saint Anne area of Paris. Might be a bit of a wait since the restaurant is fairly small, but it's worth it. Solid menu with vegetarian options if you need them. I believe they use soy milk to thicken the broth for the veg ramen. I haven't tried the other ramen options in this area, there are quite a few of them, but Menkicchi is solid, not expensive and has a nice layout inside where the customers' seats are cut out beer barrels. I had the standard Tonkatsu Ramen if you're wondering, and I bet you were. You curious little devil. 3 out of 4. Bon Appetit / いただきます

Yelp
I was so excited to try this sweet place. It was recommended highly online however I found it to be just soso Perhaps the soy milk miso was not the best option but with a small menu...everything should be perfection! Keep trying, you will get it right!
