MENNA - Restaurant Nîmes

We didn't have a reservation but it wasn't a problem. We came earlier and booked for a bit later without any problem. We initially booked on a terrace but it was a bit cold so they proposed to change for a place inside. The place is quite small but very nicely decorated and arranged. The service was impeccable. From the menu you can learn about the restaurant and it's history. We ordered the original tasting menu and closed the bottle of wine. The menu has 5 positions. This time a starter, green peas soup with wasabi that was delicious, fish, duck with carrots again amazing, goat cheese and dessert cake with strawberry. Everything was accompanied by a delicious bread, choice between normal and olive - super tasty. We had a super nice time and will definitely come back to see how they grow.

An exceptional meal. Our French is horrible and the wait staff didn't speak English, but we muddled our way through it and are glad we did. This was the best meal we had in our short trip to Nimes. We both had the cheaper 5 course meal. At the time, it was 55 Euros. It was well worth it. Each course was a delight, with bright flavours. Some of the courses were delicate, but the main was a bold lamb dish. You end up satisfied, but not bursting with heavy food. It was enough for us, but some may complain about the portions. I wouldn't recommend it if you want a huge meal. Check it out when you are hungry, but don't need to overdo it.

Enjoyed a light lunch, starting with a gorgeous and delicious cold pea soup, followed by a wonderful grilled fish. Food was excellent and beautifully presented.

First off, the food was exceptionally executed and presented. 10/10 for flavor, creativity, and presentation of a prix fixe. We loved everything! Our reason for an overall 3 star is because we saw this cute place with excellent reviews and decided to make a reservation. It was a Sunday night(notoriously slow) and they only had a 7:15 or 7:30 available. Thinking the more optimum slots taken, we chose the 7:30. We arrived as the only people in the restaurant and continued to be the only people for the duration of the evening. It felt like our presence was more annoying to the staff than happy to have a slower night and maybe not take things too seriously? I guess if they didn’t want to be open, they shouldn’t have given options for reservations. Our server was definitely annoyed with us(granted, our French is terrible, so that one is on us!) but she sat behind the bar starting at us while we finished each course so she could quickly come collect it and fire the next course. It felt extremely awkward and it’s a disappointment because the food was REALLY good! Maybe come on a night that isn’t the end of the week on a sleepy Sunday and you’ll have a wonderful time!

Amazing food, friendly staff

Beautiful tableware signals that this place is special. And it is, with a gorgeous lunchtime set menu that looked as good as it tasted. Add impeccable service. Fantastic.

I returned for another time here, food is really good but service is unfortunately not what it used to be, noone even asks you if you want another glas of wine for Main course, well I assume this was the last time here. I expect another service if you take the menu at Euro 55 for lunch
