The Latest Restaurant Openings to Know in Phoenix, February 2025 | Eater Phoenix

"The Tokyo-based ramen chain, founded in 2005 by ramen master Tomoharu Shono, has opened a second Valley location after a successful Mesa debut. Known for attracting lines wherever it lands, the restaurant emphasizes “farm-to-bowl” ramen with seasonal ingredients and house-made wheat noodles. The new Midtown menu expands with three bowls: A5 Wagyu Truffle Cheese Shoyu, A5 Wagyu Lobster Miso Butter, and Vegan Tantanmen — expect a wait, but it's worth it." - McConnell Quinn

I was told about this place last weekend and I had the opportunity to take my wife here for date night! My wife was beyond pleased! I couldn’t believe that they were milling the flour and making the noodles right here in house! The wait staff was so cheerful, kind, and amazingly attentive! The karaage fried chicken app was so good! I enjoyed the Classic Toripaitan with smoked pork chashu and an egg added, and my wife got the Signature Toripaitan with A5 wagyu chashu and duck chashu with a truffle paste. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and Jacoby gave us such warm and attentive service. We will be back… with friends!

The food, the service, the ambiance is 5/5! The hand pulled noodles and well-balanced broths are to die for. I’m still dreaming about the bowl of ramen several days later. The Spicy Karaage and A5 Wagyu and Duck Chahu Plate were also so great. The Spicy Karaage could have been better with the sauce as a dipping sauce vs slightly drizzled on top. The Wagyu and Duck plate were so tender and flavorful. I’d get that again in a heartbeat. The Signature Toripaitan Ramen was very very flavorful. I loved the different proteins it included and the broth was rich, creamy chicken flavored. The G.K.O. (Garlic Knock Out) was spicy and very garlicky, lives up to its name! The ramen noodles itself were meaty and honestly the star of the show. The service was on it! So friendly and so welcoming. Keba was amazing and was so personable to make our first time memorable. She and the back kitchen were so quick and from seating to leaving, it took 45 minutes. We came on a Thursday evening around 5pm and there was no wait and restaurant was semi-full.

Google
First time here, and honestly one of the best ramens and sushi I’ve ever had. Our server Kevin had great recommendations! Signature ramen was simple but very tasteful. The matcha dessert is a must! Very cozy atmosphere

Google
Absolutely delicious ramen! I really appreciate the fresh quality ingredients! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the toppings were fresh. Easily one of the best bowls I’ve had — I’ll definitely be back for more! 🍜🔥

Google
Amazing food and service! Kevin was such an incredible server and made our experience very enjoyable! He was very attentive and had stellar recommendations. The ambiance was soothing and the restaurant was very clean. This is amongst the best food we have had here in Arizona. Highly recommend!!!

Google
I guess there is no decent ramen here in Phoenix, so Mensho Ramen is able to jack the price up and double charge every ramen dishes....Even Vegas has better ramen at a lower price. Still, good food and good service. It's not the traditional ramen like the ones I tried in Japan, but I guess it's worth a try for those who never had ramen before. The soup is creamy and flavorful. But if you want real ramen, try Vegas, Hawaii or fly to Japan.

Google
I've been to and eaten ramen in japan and this place serves up some good ramen that fulfills that craving for authentic ramen flavors. A lot of arizona ramen places dont get the egg right, this place does! The broth flavor is also a key part that isn't always replicated but this shop get is it right, such a robust flavor that really makes the ramen sing. It's not japan prices but they are worth it because all the flavors are there. Plus the staff were so friendly, even talking us through about the ramen we chose. 100% recommend.

Google
I literally cannot say enough good things about this experience. Came here for my birthday with my fiancé and I never want to go anywhere again! Jakobe was our server and his energy made the experience. Fastest service, best atmosphere and the food literally blew our minds. 1000000/10!!!

Yelp
ATMOSPHERE10 out of 10! The way this restaurant looks upon entry is exactly how I think every restaurant should look. It lets you know exactly what you're going to get when you sit down. I have my favorite traditional Ramen places and my favorite unconventional ones. MENSHO has a good balance of traditional and creativity on the menu. HIGH QUALITY traditional noodles and ingredients with unique technique. We have only eaten here this one time. A group of us shared to taste and judge whether or not to bring others along next time. We had the GKO (garlic knock-out‍) and Matcha pudding . The Ramen was the right amount of spicy and heat from the garlic while the pudding was a great finish/compliment to put out the and flame and feel comfort. Will def bring more people here. Bonus: the staff is the icing on the cake. Knowledgeable staff that knows the menu, asks if you have any allergies, asks you if you have ever been there before AND explains what you are about to eat is refreshing. If anyone from Mensho is reading this, do you train the staff to be so polite or do people like this just naturally gravitate toward working there?

Yelp
Fantastic service! When I tell you that the staff was so attentive and on it...man, they really know customer service. There is indoor and pursuit seating available. I love the décor it is a representative of the Asian culture. And while I did not try the ramen, everyone at the table did and had great things to say regarding the favor. Many stated that they liked the thickness of the broth. I did try the garlic edamame as well as the spicy karaage and both was very pleasing. I have no complaints. There is accessible parking and entrance.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that the restaurant's ambiance has a FEEL to it. Almost like you know the food is going to be good. I ordered a specific dish that stood out on the menu, A5 Wagyu and Lobster!!!!! Every single ingredient in this dish is delicious, although the egg I needed to order as an extra(well worth it). Our server always came by to ask us how we are doing, if everything tasting well and ect. Which led me to ordering a side of truffle shavings($6) that I threw right into the buttery miso broth. Will return if I'm every back in PHX

Yelp
Mensho Ramen Just as good as the Mesa location with a much larger dining area, a few differences, one being this one does not have the Duck Matcha Ramen. Love the Karaage Chicken appetizer, onion my favorite along with the Aji Fries, fried Mackerel, these are must haves. Traditional Toripaitan Ramen is my go to bowl of Ramen, with great tasting broth and multiple goodies inside. Service was very good, they explain in detail what you are interested and also recommend their favorites. Probably the best Ramen is town
google avatar

Yelp
I frequent the Mesa location as often as possible. A server told me about the new Phoenix location having a lobster dish. I tried said lobster dish. It was amazing. I prefer the layout of this location with the large wrap around bar.

Yelp
Tried Monsho Ramen for the first time and it did not disappoint! I got the standard ramen and it totally hit the spot--rich broth, perfect noodles, and all the toppings were on point. What really stood out though was how kid-friendly this place is. We had our toddler with us and the staff went above and beyond to make him feel welcome--checking in often, chatting with him, even bringing over little things to keep him entertained. It made the whole experience that much more enjoyable (and stress-free for us parents ). Great food, great vibes, and genuinely kind people. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
This location is definitely bigger and brighter compared to the one in Mesa. The service was great, our server was friendly, fast, and attentive. The ramen broth here felt thicker than the Mesa location, which, for me, was a bit too rich. I also tried the spicy karaage, but the portion seemed smaller, and it didn't really stand out compared to the regular version. One noticeable difference is that this location offers more sushi and roll options, which is a plus if you're into that. Overall, while this spot has its own strengths, I still personally prefer the vibe and flavors at the Mesa location.

Yelp
So good it's insane but pricey for sure for ramen. Service was attentive. Cute ambiance at the location.

Yelp
Wow. Just wow. This place absolutely blew us away! The ramen was SOOOOO good--seriously, one of the best bowls I've ever had. I ordered the Signature Ramen and it was AMAZING --rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, all the ingredients, every bite was packed with comfort and depth. The Jidori chicken eggs were SOOOO GOOD. Try them!!! My kids got the Traditional Ramen and loved it (and they can be tough critics!) that was just as delicious!! My husband went for the Spicy Chicken Karaage and was obsessed. It had the perfect amount of heat and crunch--he's already talking about going back just for that! The service was friendly and the whole vibe of the place made it feel like a hidden gem. Our server was amazing!! It was my birthday and I appreciated the matcha pudding birthday dessert. It was DELICIOUS. If you're craving ramen, do yourself a favor and GO. This spot totally hit the mark for all of us!!!!! Definitely five stars!

Yelp
For me this was a solid 4 stars for the ramen and 5 stars for the service!! Megan (sp?) was amazing, knowledgeable and so sweet. Hey gurl heyyyyy. On to the food!! We started off with the enoki chips!! Ummm yummm and yesss! For Ramen, we had the signature Ramen and the GKO Ramen. The broth was very rich and flavorful!. The GKO known for its rich garlic flavor was delish but I reallllly enjoyed the signature. I asked for hot sauce on the side for the signature so I cld spice things up a bit. For drinks we had the moshi peach soda (non alcoholic) it was so refreshing and delicious. Enjoyed the decor, the set up and the vibe. I will say it is more on the $$ side, but well worth the price in my opinion. We will definitely be returning in the near future. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu.

Yelp
Oh wow finally made it into mensho and it lived up to all the hype. Right away you are greeted by the whole staff and seated. We got the fried chicken appetizer and it was so good. They removed the bones as well so it's easy to eat without a mess. Then onto the main I got the lobster wagyu butter ramen and yes it's expensive but you only live once right??? It was so rich and full of flavor. Generous portions of wagyu and lobster. I was in food heaven. For sure will be back sooner than later as it was a terrific experience.

Yelp
Celebrated a birthday here. I got the Classic Toripaitan Ramen (smoke pork) added Duck, I will very tasty and perfection! We shared the Enoki Chips, Karage Chicken, and Garlic Edamame. This location is big with a bar, dinning, and patio areas. Service was outstanding! We even got a Matcha pudding for dessert. YUM!

Yelp
WOW. We're so lucky that Mensho Ramen opened right around the corner from us. Or maybe unlucky depending on whether we want to judge this based on the future state of our stomachs or our wallets. Major thanks to Yelp for this one - I went with the Cauliflower Tantanmen and added an egg (since I'm not actually vegan). It was absolutely incredible. Knockout flavors with the perfect amount of spice. My husband is apparently secretly a ramen aficionado from work lunches and says this was the best ramen he's ever had. There are so many fun ramen options on the menu (lobster and wagyu anyone?) but the Cauliflower Tantanmen was so good that I don't think I can bring myself to order anything else. Speaking of wagyu, though, the wagyu sushi was a top notch starter. We also ordered some sort of octopus balls that were topped with... moving fish flakes? I'm not fancy enough to know what I actually ate, but it had a super unique flavor. Google tells me it was actually Takoyaki and the toppings were bonito flakes. Can't wait to come back! Mensho is on my "best of Phoenix" list.

Yelp
Ramen Heaven! Surprised my best friend for her birthday and this place went above and beyond our expectations. We started out with the daikon salad which was cool and refreshing. The daikon was cut into ribbons and the yuzu dressing was light and airy. Next we got the karaage chicken, it's thigh meat and it was so tender. The outside was perfectly fried and the meat was perfect. We were brave and order the A5 Wagyu with garlic. The meat was so tender due to the perfect marbling. It basically melted in your mouth and the fried garlic toppings added a nice crunch. I wanted to try their sushi and my boyfriend and I got the Misoyaki salmon roll. The salmon was nice and cool and no fishy taste. The salmon roe on top was so good! Now the main dish: ramen. I got the one with lobster and it came with a slice of butter. After I mixed it in, the broth was rich and creamy. The noodles were al dente and did not get soggy throughout our meal. Our server was kind and attentive. She answered all of our questions. Definitely will be back to try more!

Yelp
Walked in at 4pm on a Sunday and were greeted very warmly by the staff and shown to table right away (no wait!) The space is bright and doesn't feel crowded (although only about 1/4-1/3 of the tables were occupied at the time). We had been once before, during their opening month and were curious about additions to their menu since then. So glad we came back! Grilled corn wings were smoky, buttery, and delicious, especially with a dusting of their spice blend. Garlic edamame balanced out the spicy karaage (fried chicken). Next time, we'll try the non-spicy version of the karaage, as hubby found their spicy sauce too hot! I was delighted to see a soupless ramen on their noodle menu now, called "Farm to Bowl." It is a cold dish, which is PERFECT for our Phoenix summers. Lots of ingredients, including grilled chicken, marinated egg, chewy noodles, fried roots, nuts, shishito peppers, citrus, red onion, ginger, green onion. When mixed together, all the flavors combined for the perfect summer bite! Must try. For dessert we had the matcha latte pudding. It's the ideal Asian dessert: not overly sweet, and the matcha flavor is strong enough against the freshly whipped cream, strawberry and adzuki paste. Wonderful end to the meal!

Yelp
This isn't just lunch, it's an experience. Walking in, you are welcome with a loud greeting by the whole staff. You sit down to a beautifully set table, placemats... If I had a bigger bag... The menu is perfect. It was hard to decide what to have. The server gave us all the pointers. The hard part, is everything as a favorite. And I can see why. I had, what I believe, could have been the best meal of my life. In a simple, yet not simple bowl of Ramen. The Cauliflower Tantanmen to be specific. The flavors were like nothing I had ever tasted. Like butter, only better. Like the best noodles you've ever had, but better. Everything was just better. And mushroom chips. Whoever thought of this is a genius. They were fantastic. Again, the flavors. Something different. Something unique. Something amazing. Something I didn't want to stop eating. And yet, I had to stop eating it. Because I finished it. I was happily satisfied. I wasn't stuffed. It wasn't just a perfect meal, it was the perfect size. As we left, the staff yells out their thank you and goodbyes. Thank you, Mensho! I can't wait to return. Be sure to check out the artist co-op next door and enjoy the courtyard for a bit.

Yelp
The food was really good and delicious. Very nice clean setting. Service was also friendly and nice Only thing is that the portions were a bit small for the price

Yelp
We've been wanting to try this place for a while but we're worried about the wait. Finally, we made it without even waiting! The service was quick and friendly. We were immediately seated at the bar. The space is open and welcoming! This restaurant is really small and crowded, which was not an issue for us. But I can also see that if you want to come with a big group of friends or come with kids, it might not be that easy & comfortable to dine in. The food was definitely delicious. I didn't know how they made it - the spicy toripaitan was made from chicken soup but was super creamy. The chives added a special touch to the soup. I also found some spicy ground pork at the bottom of my soup, which brought a lot of flavors to the ramen. The karagee we ordered was also good! I wouldn't say it was the best that I've ever had but still, this dish was so creative and flavorful. Overall, a very nice ramen place! The ramen is definitely pricier than the other places, but is worth the try!
google avatar

Yelp
Probably the best ramen spot in Phoenix and there was definitely a need for this! Just so you know how much I loved this place- I went three times in one month. First to try it with friends, then brought my sister and later a friend who are both pretty picky eaters. I'm pescatarian, so I enjoyed the spicy yuzu ramen. I also tried the classic toripaitan which was great too, but probably more suited to the colder months. I'll have to go back when the temps drop a little. My friends had great things to say about the garlic knock out. And we shared the takoyaki and enoki chips are great options to share with the table. I was so full from the ramen so I would struggle to finish sides on my own though! The menu isn't extensive but i think most people would find something they like. And a menu tOO long is kind of a red flag for me anyway. The ramen noodles were made in house and the perfect al dente, chewy texture. Serving size is big, so come with an appetite. Ambiance was great. Up-scale enough that you can bring family, but not stuffy at all.
google avatar

Yelp
Second time at Mensho, first time at the uptown location- this location is much larger than the one in Mesa. It's nestled in between a couple other cool restaurants and a soft serve ice cream joint Onyx which looks delicious. I ordered the Garlic Knockout - the 5 x garlic was the primary reason I ordered it. The flavour was delicious and not over powering. Could have used a little more meat. It was portioned perfectly, I finished mine feeling great. We came for lunch which was not too busy.
google avatar

Mishel D.

Yelp
I've been meaning to come and try the ramen here since it opened and finally had the chance to. Did not disappoint! Broth is rich and creamy. It felt cozy and upscale at the same time. Service was quick and friendly. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
The food was amazing really good flavor and the egg was cooked to perfection. The chicken was really crispy and the service was good the waitress made suggestions and was educated of the food. The ambiance was small intimate and quiet I will be defiantly going back I live the atmosphere there

Yelp
Mensho Ramen for the win! If you're looking authentic Japanese bowls don't look any further! No spirits available only beer and sake. You can't pick up its dine in only. Super chill spots with lots of availability. The broth was off the charts. We got a spicy and more traditional enjoyed them both immensely.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place, I've been 4 times already!! I recommend it to all my friends and family. Their food always hits the spot. The service is always lovely and I love that the whole restaurant staff speaks Japanese to greet you when you walk in. They have two locations, both have incredible atmospheres with two totally different but equally unique vibes. I personally think I prefer the mesa location simply for the slightly different menu items they offer, but this one is still a 10/10!
google avatar

Elsie M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the Mesa location and after seeing that they opened one up in Phoenix, decided to come here for a belated birthday dinner recently. My main goal of this visit was to try a few of the items that the other location did not offer. Whereas my friend decided to stick with the classics she knew she already loved. After looking over the menu, we decided to order the A5 wagyu and duck chashu plate, and the karaage to share. The cuts on the chashu plate were of high quality. I enjoyed the A5 wagyu more with squeezed lemon juice on top than without but found I enjoyed the opposite for the duck. The karaage was good, the chicken was juicy and fried to perfection and we really appreciated that it wasn't swimming in too much sauce. For our main entrees, I decided to try the A5 wagyu lobster miso butter ramen and my friend got the signature toripaitan ramen. I was unsure what to expect when I read the description of the broth, but I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. All the textures in the dish complimented each other well. There was also a good amount of lobster which I wasn't really expecting. However, I ended up not really caring for the ground beef even though I know mixing it in with the broth in the beginning really changes the flavor up. My friend who got the signature toripaitan ramen said that this location's broth was lighter and wasn't quite sure how to feel about it. Overall, the service was warm, welcoming, friendly and attentive from start to finish. Our glasses were refilled, and plates were removed in a timely manner. What I loved about this location was that it was quite spacious with lots of seating options, and you didn't feel like you were invading another customer's personal space.

Yelp
Amazing ramen spot that is more upscale, but the quality and service make up for the price. This location is much bigger and spacious than the Mesa one, so there was zero wait for Sunday lunch. Cauliflower tantanmen: 9/10. This is a vegan option and it took me by surprise at how good this was. The broth had so much flavor and the cauliflower toppings were addicting. Noodles were bouncy and perfectly chewy, a lot more notable than when we tried Mensho in Mesa. Classic toripaitan: 8/10. Very good! Lighter broth but so creamy. We decided to add an egg to this one which was the perfect touch - so smokey and tasty. A5 wagyu gunkan: 5/10. The server mentioned they were doing a special for this one, coming in 3 instead of 2. It was nothing special, but the beef was marinated well. A5 wagyu negi: 9/10. I really enjoyed this. It was buttery and almost melted in my mouth! Green onion garnish paired nicely. Overall, great experience and good to try. I would come back to try their spicy karaage and maybe the soupless ramen!

Yelp
this location had more options and the service was quick the employees were sweet and i loved my food and never get disappointed with mensho

Yelp
Ramen is my husband's love language so Mensho quickly moved to the top of our 'must try' restaurant list. I'd heard that the wait can be long (they don't take reservations) but we were able to walk right in on a Wednesday evening around 6 and get a table at the bar. We were greeted promptly by our server who offered us menus. They have a wide selection of beer, wine, and sake available. We both opted for beer which arrived quickly after we placed our order. The food menu is concise and straightforward. We started with the Karage and the Corn Wings. Both were good, not great. We felt the seasoning lacked a bit on both dishes. The ramen was definitely the star of the show. We ordered the traditional and the spicy, and both were 10/10. The truffle in the traditional wasn't overpowering and the level of spice in the spicy ramen was perfect for me (mild-medium). The noodles were super fresh and the broth was incredibly flavorful. Some of the best ramen we've had in Arizona. The restaurant interior was very nice. Clean and well taken care of. They have a great setup for the queue with plenty of seating. The restaurant sits in a shopping mall so plenty of parking available. Overall, we were in and out in 45 minutes! We will be back!

Yelp
First time at Mensho Ramen, the phoenix location, and it was such a great experience. The staff are all so welcoming, the restaurant was really open with the ramen bar options as well as table. We got the tonkotsu ramen, the fried chicken with the spicy and sweet sauces on the side. I can't praise the tonktosu ramen enough, noodles were al dente, so much meat in it, broth was well seasoned and thick. I can't wait to be back to try other menu items.

Yelp
I really wanted to hate this place because of the price .... But I didn't hate it was really good and the service was too notch!! I finally tried Mensho and I am so happy I did! We got the Karaage , Signature Toripaitann, Cauliflower Tantanmen. Karaage 9/10 damn near perfect and I love that it comes with Chinese eggplant. Signature Toripaitann 8/10 the broth was good the noodles fresh , toppings were amazing especially the truffle paste only thing I didn't care for was the Wagyu. It was chewy and it shouldn't be . I have had ramen and wagyu in Japan and lots of other places. Wagyu should never be chewy. The rest of that bowl was delicious. Now the star of the night was surprisingly the Cauliflower Tantanman. OMG please get this! Someone at the table get this! I loved this the most! The broth was the best I have had in the states hands down!!! The service was amazing the host was super friendly and we got seated at the bar in 10 mins and she told us our server at the bar was the best and he was!!!! I can't believe I don't remember his name! Hispanic guy with long hair . He was amazing and answered alllllll my millions of questions and gave great suggestions! If this place pricy ... yes ... will I be back ... absolutely!!

Yelp
Favorite ramen. That is all. Just kidding - this location felt a lot more open and spacious than the east valley location, but the amazing flavors are still there. Yes, it's a bit pricey but the quality of the ingredients and the richness of the ramen's taste is completely worth it. I have tasted many of the appetizers and (personally) think they're a bit overpriced, so I usually just get the Signature Toripaitan & and ice cold Sapporo. A delicacy! And frankly, more than enough food to fill you up.

Yelp
Visited on a Sunday for lunch and we were seated promptly. Hostess and servers were friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The space was clean and well-decorated, making for an enjoyable dining experience. They have a nice bar area, but there were no patrons in the space at the time of our visit. The menu offers three vegan options: Yuzu Shio, Spicy Yuzu Shio, and the Cauliflower Tantanmen. I opted for the most basic - the Yuzu Shio and it truly did not disappoint. The description was simple, but the flavors of the broth were complex and vibrant. The tomatoes and mushroom were cooked to perfection. The noodles were fresh. The only thing lacking was protein, but I would 100% visit again to try the other vegan ramen options! My friend got the Valentine's Day special, which consistent of a cacao infused ramen and matcha broth. A unique offering that she thoroughly enjoyed. I was very happy with my first experience here and look forward to returning!

Yelp
Yum! Loved this new spot in central phx! I had the garlic knockout and I can't stop craving it! The noodles in it are so delicious. My friend had the Califlower tantanmen and added egg plus extra spice and said it was the best ramen in town! - I agree! The garlic edamame is good but not spectacular I had the yuzu Aladdin as well and loved that. The decor here is modern and nice! Our server Angela was also so nice and quick! I'll be back!

Yelp
Tldr menu wasn't what I expected but it was still yummy! I haven't had a chance to try the California mensho locations yet so when I saw one right next to my Airbnb I wanted to try it. I was surprised that this location only has chicken base soups because I was expecting tonkotsu but all of the dishes we ordered were quite yummy. Overall we liked all of the dishes. The cauliflower tantanmen was very rich and flavorful and the veggies were delicious too. I really enjoyed the chocolate duck matcha. It was such a weird combination of flavors but worked out well as a kind of savory creamy noodle taste. My brother thought the paitan soup base was not as heavy as he usually likes it but it was still very tasty. The truffle paste was amazing as well.

Yelp
Mensho is definitely a "treat yourself" meal. It's pricey for a bowl of ramen but you can taste the quality. This was my first time at this location, which is much more spacious than the Mesa spot. For apps, we ordered the wagyu nigiri and spicy chicken karaage. The wagyu nigiri was exquisite. The spicy karaage was yummy. The batter was perfectly crispy, and the chicken was hot and fresh. I like that it also came with a few slices of eggplant. I always order the signature toripaitan - it's my favorite! The proteins are so moist and juicy - I never thought I'd enjoy chicken in my ramen, but they did it right. It also comes with duck and pork which are equally delicious. I like that the broth is THICCC. This time around, it didn't quite hit the same as the first couple times when I went in Mesa. Overall, it was still good.

Yelp
When the first Mensho opened in Mesa, I was blown away. Oddly, I felt the 2nd location's ramen didn't quite live up. Don't get me wrong, it's still delicious and ultimately still worth the cost. But I felt the Mesa location was just a step above. The broth just seemed to have a more rich and deep flavor. The sides, however, were still great. The wagyu nigiris are still some of the best I've had and the karaage may be THE best. The batter was light and crispy and the chicken so so moist. The option for spice was a great plus at this location as well. Ultimately, it was still a nice experience but I may need to revisit the Mesa location going forward

Yelp
This is my favorite ramen spot in the phoenix area! It brings authentic Japanese ramen and flavors that are out of this world. My favorite hands down is the A5 wagyu cheese truffle is my go to ramen. I've had the A5 wagyu with the lobster and it was so rich and creamy but because I am a truffle and cheese lover, the flavors stole the show. For appetizers the emoji mushroom was memorable and the daikon salad was refreshing. The service is top notch here and I loved how we were greeted in Japanese. I like the bar seating and the ambience due to its modern clean vibe. I love the A5 Wagyu sushi and the matcha dessert is my ultimate must have after my meal. So wish there was a mensho was in the west valley. Otherwise I would be here to have ramen more frequently. Yes, it's a bit pricey than your usual ramen spot but the elevated experience is well worth it.

Yelp
Five stars for service. Hands down. Our waitress was amazing and super accommodating. She knew the menu and answered any questions we had and helped give options. The food was pretty good, only a few minor things that didn't make it absolutely amazing. First, we ordered the fried fish and it was good. Our 19 month old absolutely loved the sauce that came with it. It was moist flaky fish on the inside with a light crispy breading on the outside. Then, the fried chicken. Similar - moist inside and crispy outside. However, it was extremely fatty and less enjoyable mouthfeel. Our daughter, fried chicken lover, took a while to enjoy the chicken because of how fatty it was. Then we ordered the A5 Waygu roll - 6 little sushi bites of waygu with different preparations on garlic on top. It was ok. I didn't think the flavor stood out at all. I honestly think this was the most mediocre thing we ate. Would not order again and didn't impress me enough to want to order any other sushi. Then we ordered a ramen bowl. I can't remember the name but I think it was like their classic ramen. It had an amazing chicken broth with five types of meat. All the meat was delicious but the duck... so tender. The broth was absolutely amazing. So, so good. I also ordered an extra smoked egg, which was delicious. Our daughter really liked the noodles and the broth. Finally, we ordered the matcha latte pudding for dessert. It had red bean paste and whipped cream on top with strawberries. The berries were not looking too good - a little brown and mush. But the pudding itself was delicious. The inside was nice and modern. We sat in the back near the windows. We grabbed a booster seat for our toddler and she stayed put the entire meal, really enjoying all the different foods. She did get very messy and started waving to the very nice couple behind us but they were friendly. Our waitress was very impressed with how much our 19 month old ate and that she liked what she ate. (What kid doesn't love dipping sauce?) I'll be honest, we had never heard of this place until today and decided to go here on a whim because we were traveling and just needed to eat and it was next to our first stop. It was a good choice and definitely delicious. I'd go back for the ramen but not any time soon. Plus it's not exactly kid friendly and if we didn't go when it was pretty dead inside, I don't think it would have worked out or been a good experience. I do like the location and the green grass area outside so our daughter could run off some energy.

Yelp
Wow!! Mensho Ramen is amazing! It is the richest ramen I've ever eaten. We went to the newest location on 7th around 4:30 to make sure we could get in. The hostess yells a greeting and the staff immediately replies. Right away the tone is set for something fun and different. Our waiters, Jake and Berniece were so engaging, professional and informative. They explained the menu and I picked the GKO and Boo got the Signature plus an appetizer of the Karaage!! Delicious! They also greeted us when we sat down with samples of delicious Sake. I asked if they do takeout and Jake explained the owner feels the ramen should be eaten within 3 minutes of serving so no takeout. We were unable to finish our meals and took the rest home. The leftovers were great the next day. No disrespect Chef! We definitely will return and look forward to trying everything on the menu. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I had been wanting to go to this place ever since they opened in Mesa for a while but I was dreading the 2-3hour wait that I've seen some people commented. Now that they opened a bigger restaurant in Phoenix and I had a friend in town so I decided to give it a try and I'm very glad I did. It was definitely worth the 2 hour drive. Luckily there was no wait when we got there even though it was WM golf tournament week. We got there around 5:30pm. So go early if you don't want to wait! I ordered their signature ramen. It tasted pretty good. I wish it was hotter though.(Temp wise) Reminded me of Tenka Ippin, which is a very popular ramen restaurant chain in Japan. I think wagyun nigiri is a must! Service was good and friendly but I did feel a little rushed towards the end and got the sense that they wanted us to leave so they can seat the next party.

Yelp
I unknowingly came here opening weekend! On Sunday I came about 10 mins after they opened and there was a huge line but my party got sat around 7 mins later so that was nice. I think it's beautiful and on theme on the inside, I felt relaxed. For appetizers we ordered karaage and spicy karaage. They are both delicious and the spicy karaage was not spicy at all which was fine with me, it was just a hint basically. Also the 'peach party' beer was great, very easy to drink. Onto the ramen, I wasn't a big fan of the flavors in the signature Toripaitan but I could tell they were quality ingredients. It was very filling, my favorite part in it was the fried gobo, I've never had that before. One of my friends got yuzu ramen because they ran out of what she originally ordered- the cauliflower tantanmen. The founder actually came out with our server to apologize for not having the cauliflower ramen! He was so sweet and explained similar options she might like instead:) I didn't try the yuzu ramen but the rest of the table said that yuzu ramen was the best ramen they ever tried so there's that. I would definitely come back, just try something else but also I would just come here for drinks and apps because it's so comfortable inside.

Yelp
I brought my little sister when she visited me this week, 10/10 in every way. The interior made you feel like you were in a Japanese Tatami room, it smelled amazing and the space was clean. Tee got their signature ramen, mine with extra mushrooms. The runny egg was perfect and the soup was filling, noodles were perfectly cooked and the broth was incredible. We will be coming back asap.

Yelp
Been hearing good things about this place and it did not disappoint! Ambiance is very nice. Cozy lighting and not too loud of a restaurant. I ordered a Toripaitan ramen and corn wings. Corn wings were good but I would recommend trying a different appetizer as it's not anything too crazy for the price for corn. The ramen though was crazy good. Broth was flavorful and tasted amazing . It included 4 different types of protein and overall was a 10/10. Service where I was sitting was not the best. Took a long time to have someone take my order and even the people next to me were having the same complaint.

Yelp
From the food to the ambiance and the service, everything at Mensho was GREAT. For food, we tried the enoki chips, unagi chives roll, and signature toripaitan. The enoki chips were super crispy and served with a side of lemon and togarashi--super addicting like french fries. The roll had great quality unagi and came with 6 pieces. And the ramen was unlike any other ramen I've had. The signature ramen (which was a whopping $29) came with 3 kinds of meat: pork chashyu, A5 wagyu, and duck. The duck was my favorite and I'm honestly considering getting ramen with just the duck next time. My other favorite part of this was the truffle butter, which I expected to be overpowering, but I ended up wanting more. The broth was thick and flavorful and the noodles felt freshly made. For dessert, the manager gave us a free matcha pudding for our birthday celebrant. It reminded me of like a matcha panna cotta and had red bean and cream on top. I've heard that this Phoenix location is more spacious compared to Mesa's. We came here for dinner on the Saturday after opening weekend and the wait to get seated was 30-35 minutes, not terrible. Otherwise, food service was pretty quick and the servers were on top of their game. I will be back for future special occasions for sure.

Yelp
So so happy to have a quality ramen place in central Phoenix. It's top notch ! The service was impeccable. The Star is definitely the food. We loved everything we tried. The GKO was the most popular choice and our favorite. We also loved the spicy fried chicken and signature. The wagyu was delish as well. We will be frequent visitors for sure.
