Stopped here for ice cream after dinner on a Friday night. The line was long but moved quickly, polite service and delicious ice cream! Will definitely visit again!

This is a very busy place, so expect a wait. They serve food (fried food, burgers, etc.), and it was standard, but the extensive and unique ice cream selection make this place special. Our party had caramel, peanut butter, and German chocolate soft serve. The ice cream was delicious!

Old school ice cream place. Lovely atmosphere. Ice-cream is very good. Snow cone is just a hard block of ice. Disappointing. It doesn't have that creamy icd texture you will find at Jerrys. Service is kind but very slow.

Very curt service. Food was fine. The whole point of the old style building is to see what’s going on inside. Unfortunately they have put up paper all over the glass, which displays some menus and also traps flies.

Mensi's Dairy Bar is a Collierville staple. The walk-up window, the concrete patio, the smell of the food are all a part of this amazing experience. The food is great, but the portions have gotten smaller and smaller. At this rate I'm going to need two cones to get enough ice cream. 😄

Normally 5 stars cause good service, but I need y’all to change the cheese sticks back IMMEDIATELY 😭 those were the main reason I would go here whenever I came back home. These new cheese sticks are so gross :/

They were supposed to close but stayed open 1/2 hour late for all the customers lined up to get some food. We just got an orange soft serve waffle cone. Waffle cone was super fresh and crunchy despite it being the end of the day. And the orange flavor reminded me of a dreamsicle which I love!

Right in the edge of Collierville Town Square. In the middle of winter and they are open. To satisfy a snow cone fix. It's convenient and only one of its kind in the immediate area. Walk up and order at the outside. You can get.. Waited 45 min for a blueberry snow cone, watched people who ordered far after me get ice cream, burgers, fires and drinks. Went and asked about it and still took them 15 more minutes to get it to me. No apologies either. Shouldn't take that long to make a snow cone.

Please be patient though as there's often only one or two people working here at a time. You can also call your order ahead of time and pick it up. Something unique they have here is funnel fries. We try to get them as often as we can and we love them! I am pretty sure you can get a milkshake of any of the ice cream flavors. I've had a few milkshakes and really enjoyed them. I feel like the flavor in the milkshakes is stronger than in the cones- after a little bit the cones usually just taste like vanilla. To be honest, I wouldn't really come here for the food as all of the regular food I've gotten here has been just ok. The cheese sticks actually stuck in my throat so I really won't be getting those again, though the flavor wasn't bad. Good soft serve place on the Collerville Historic Towne Square. They also have other cool foods like funnel fries.

Love this place. It's always fun standing in line people watching as you wait for your order. It's only the home of the world famous cheese fri! My recommendation is the large swirl on the cake cone. This place is like the NWO... too sweeeeeeeeet!

Funnel Fries. That's it. They're amazing. Have you had them? Bc they're amazing and you should. Seriously they're amazing. They take forever to cook but they're just amazing. I can't speak on the food as we never get a meal here. But the ice cream is really good. The milkshakes are delicious.

We love the ice cream and snowcones. Never had the food but it always smells so good.

I highly recommend Mensi's Dairy Bar. This place has been around Collierville for years. I know I grew up around Collierville. You can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu.

Absolutely love. They have wonderful burgers and a perfect picnic feel. They are quick and cheap. The only thing I have to complain about is that once I got spoiled ice-cream. However that was about a year ago and hasn't happened since.

Nice collection of flies stuck between the front windows and the signs in back. Some were even still alive! Check this unsanitary place out!

Amazing butterscotch and malted shakes, tasty onion rings and delicious burgers. They never disappoint! Even the flavor of the burgers is top-notch. Don't miss this awesome burger joint!

Great little place! Food is good, a lot of variety, reminds me of a very similar place where I grew up. It's one of those "hole in the wall" places that you just love going to. Definitely recommend.

I found this gem place when COVID crisis was over, around beginning of summer time last year. Since then, it became my best ice cream place and lunch place in Memphis area. So far I tried Philly Steak, fish sandwich, chicken tenders, chicken wings, french fries, funnel fries as well as many different flavors of their well-known ice creams. As some of the previous reviewer said, it is a small place with small outside sitting areas. I usually use takeout options, so I didn't see any problem. However, the place is busy with lines throughout the day, especially during lunch time. They make foods and mix ice creams freshly upon they receive orders. The place doesn't have any ice cream already-made. That is the main reason that food and ice cream orders take time and are fresh, I guess. I do have a very sensitive stomach, so I know whether foods and ice creams are fresh or not. With this place's food and ice creams, I've never had problems. I'd rather wait to have fresher food, so don't mind waiting. When it became too soft, I refroze in the freezer when I came home. It was fine eating like that, too. It was still good. The place reminds of my wonderful childhood memories and plus their price is very very reasonable comparing to other fastfood places or other ice cream places. I don't go to other places any more. I tried: Ice Cream Cone: Peanut butter, Coconut, Butterscotch, Cheese Cake, Vanilla, Strawberry, Caramel, Pina Colada, Pineapple Fries: French Fries, Chicken wings, Chicken Tenders, and Funnel Fries Food: Philly Steak, Fish Sandwich I loved all the ice cream flavors and foods. I strongly recommend Funnel Fries and French Fries. I don't eat French Fries at other places, but I do like eating their French Fries when If I eat there. Their Funnel Fries are still tasty even when they cool down. The place knows how to fry them or they must have a good frying machine. I feel lucky to find this place.

This place was pretty cool. I love the area that's it's in which is in the Collierville Square. The prices are amazing you really can get your bang for your buck here. I tired the cup of ice cream the flavor was butter pecan. It was pretty good. The flavor of butter pecan is not super prominent but it was there. They have over 24 flavors or soft serve ice cream. They even serve hot food such as grilled cheeses and burgers. The Oreo milk shake was awesome as well. It was thick and full of the cookies and cream flavor. The cheese fries were definitely worth it. We ordered a small and it was very filling. Lots of cheese sauce and the fries were hot! I will for sure come back and try more and more things!

Love this little place that reminds me of little drive-up places from my travels in NC, CA, MA and PA. Just one of those blast from the places that you can rarely find outside of rural small town America these days. Just a great place to grab a burger (or wings) or maybe stop by at night and grab a shake or a swirl cone. If you don't like soft serve, don't go here, because the soft serve options and add-ons with a way bigger choice than you might expect. It's just little place where you walk to the window, order, wait outside, then eat in your car, pretty cool! It's been a local favorite for years with the hamburgers and fries that hit the spot and the shakes and other ice cream treats are just plain good. It's a few steps off the square with plenty of parking and it's quick and friendly.

When in beautiful, historical Collierville TN you must stop here to at least get some ice cream at this very popular place right next to the fabulous mural.

Mensi's has been a staple of Collierville for over 25 years. They has great food that has been the same for many years. They are extremely nice to each customer. The food is cooked fresh with each order. The shakes are enormous compared to other places. Sides are quite generous. Love to come here during the summer order our food then walk to the square, eating our food while sitting on a quilt listening to the music on Thursday nights. Mensi's has certainly been the go to place for hot dogs, hamburgers, sundaes, handmade shakes, and banana splits.

Mensi's is just "ok". Waited quite a while in the scorching heat for some ice cream only to get it and realize that Chick Fil A, Costco, and even Sonic are far better, not to mention far cheaper. In addition the people at Mensi's were not very friendly and didn't act like they appreciated my business. Honestly, I would much rather do business with mom-n-pop places over heartless corporations and chain stores, but when you pay extra for something that is inferior and on top of that, they don't even thank you for doing business there, then I usually don't return for a second visit. In this case, there will be no second visit. To Mensi's, I say improve your offerings, lower your prices, and get an attitude adjustment or you won't be in business much longer!

Not good, they cut back on the quantity and quality of their product. The hamburger are thin patties like Krystal thin. Ice cream portion are small as well. They are cheating the customers. Why?

Town square staple! Fresh hot burgers and fries, decent prices, soft serve cones and super tasty shakes. My go-to is a chocolate malt!

The idea is fun. Nice to walk over and grab a bite or get ice cream. If you are going for actual good food or good cream go somewhere else. The outdoor tables are a wonderful addition!

All hail the cheesecake ice cream royalty! There is nothing more than genius ice cream at Mensi's. Their main flavors are vanilla, chocolate, and swirl, and there's also new flavors. I got cheesecake and it tastes good that those who try it can't resist it. I will be back.

We went for the soft serve and snocones. The soft serve was really good and they have good flavors! The snocone ice was hard and crunchy. It wasn't bad, just not the best.

I love little places like this. It is a simple walk-up place. The soft serve ice cream cones are large and cheap. You can get a sno-cone if you want. The burgers have that great dive restaurant fried on a griddle in grease taste to them. Hard to beat little local places like this. It is fast, cheap and the ladies inside are friendly.

shop local, I wont be back. I loved this place when the original owner was here, no longer. got a hamburger the other day, waited for a long time, they were not busy, I asked for a water. she charged me 25 cents for water, and food. come on, not necessarily complaining about the 25 cents but it should have been free, anywhere else it would have been. I asked for a receipt, said it was in the bag, it was not in the bag, she acted like she did not want me to have the receipt. Not friendly, there are too many places to stop now for this type treatment. Good luck in the future. If they do not change their attitude, they will lose a lot of business. The hamburger was good but not that great. I wont be back.

Love this "hole-in-the-wall" spot. Expect great dessert dishes. I've also had their chicken wings a couple times and they are 8/10. Don't expect great costumer service though.

The food at Mensi's is only so-so, the service is the bare minimum, and there are no tables. If it's raining, you'll get wet. If it's hot, you'll sweat. So why four stars? Because Mensi's is a rarity: a true walk-up sandwich and ice cream joint. It's just that and nothing more. No attempt at a retro vibe. No effort to appeal to hipsters who would go out of their way to find it (which probably makes Mensi's even more hip). It's just a straight-up lunch joint where you walk-up to the window, order a serviceable burger, crinkle fries and some soft-serve for desert. Full disclosure: I grew-up in Collierville and went to Mensi's on numerous occasions while in high school, when the high school was in the building that is now the middle school and is just a few blocks from Mensi's. So maybe I'm a bit nostalgic. But I took the wife and kids to Mensi's when I was back in Collierville for a family gathering and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. As there are no tables at Mensi's, you have to go over to the town square to eat your meal. But that's one of the great things about Mensi's - if you're not getting your meal (or ice cream) to go, you get to enjoy your meal in the town square of the community that Mensi's has served for God only knows how long--at least since the mid-80s. We ordered cheeseburgers, hot dogs for the kids, onion rings and fries. The burgers are fried and the cheese is American. Not exactly write-home-to-mama burgers, but there's something satisfying about the simplicity of them, especially when enjoyed on a warm afternoon sitting on a bench or in the gazeebo on the town square. Between the onion rings or the fries, I recommend the fries. Though I'm positive they both come out of a giant bag kept in a freezer, the fries were a bit tastier. The chocolate milkshake I had came out of a machine, but it was much tastier than a McDonald's shake. The kids loved the soft-serve ice cream. My daughter even said she'd rather have Mensi's ice cream than Ben & Jerry's. So there you have it. There's not much to Mensi's, except a totally uncontrived, straight forward, simple dining experience. A rarity worth savoring. Frequently.

My family and I have frequented this place for decades. The price is great for what you get. We typically go for the soft serve ice cream and milkshakes. Several flavors to choose from and way cheaper than any other place in town.

Good food, cheap - a local favorite. Always nice to take your food, walk over to the Collierville square, and eat it on one of the benches.

Not fancy or anything you just walk up order and go, but out of any other place I have been this place has the BEST milkshakes! the cheesburgers are good as well! It is nice to go because you can order just about anything and it is super cheap (pocket change)!

My wife, kids and I got an order to go last night. We ordered the cheese burgers, fries, cheese sticks and hot wings and took them home to eat. Since we moved here 6 months ago, this was our first time eating at Mensi's. WOW! My son and I had the hot wings. They were as good as I make at home, so we were pleased. My wife and daughter had the cheeseburgers. They said they were good. We like Mensi's. The place is unpretencious. A throw back to a simpler time. You'll have to wait while they fix your food. But it gave us a chance to catch up on the day and I ate a small vanilla cone. smile!!! All in all a pleasant surprise!!!

The ice cream was delicious. My husband loved his double cheeseburger and my son loved the fries!!! The prices are cheap too. Will definitely be back to try it again!

Great milkshakes, and lots of fun flavors for their soft-serve! The problem? Service is slooooooooooooow, you have to stand directly in the blazing sun as you wait to order, and the size of their ice cream cones is curiously inconsistent. If you order 3 of the same size, you may well get 3 cones with wildly varying amounts of ice cream. If you mention it, the employees don't seem to understand what you mean. Yet, it is like that every single visit. Still, we tolerate it when we really want a butterscotch shake or a lemon ice cream cone.

Eat here at least 3 times a week with a family of 9. Ordered there 3x today. Last order today we paid for but only got 1/2 of it home. Called back and was hung up on 7 times. Told to drive back up there then was told that they didn't ever make mistakes and we would have to reorder the food and pay again. They were closing so we were given 4 corn dogs and ask to leave. After over 30 years going there, we won't be back. Town of Collierville employees, find somewhere else to lunch or you may not eat. My fellow wreckers, don't bother.

Me and my family have been coming here for years. It's great for a sweet treat or a fast and greasy meal. Their signs haven't been updated probably since the place opened but it still has that old school charm that you would only find in a small town. There isn't any certain dish that I prefer over another but places like these aren't around every corner.

I've been eating here since I was a kid. I can still say they have the best ice cream of any restaurant I've been to. There are no frills...just walk up order and go. You can enjoy your food while walking around the town square or just sit in your car. The food is like a good dive bar nice n greasy. It's truly one of a kind and I love it.
