My partner and I visited on Friday, 21 November for my pre-birthday celebration, and it was fantastic. The 7-course set menu with 7 non-alcoholic wine pairings was beautifully presented, delicious, and the surprise of only seeing the full menu at the end made the experience even more special. The ambiance was lovely and intimate, and it was a great bonus being able to watch the food being prepared. Gordon, the chef, welcomed us in and even chatted with us a few times, which made the evening feel even more personal. The staff were warm, engaging, and efficient, and the Christmas decorations added a festive touch. A truly memorable experience! 🎉✨

Every plate that arrives is a visual wow and a joyful punch of taste, turning dinner into something closer to an art exhibition than a conventional meal. With the chef often plating dishes himself and chatting easily with diners, the whole experience feels personal, playful and wonderfully unpretentious. The surprise menu keeps anticipation high from start to finish. This visit was for lunch, and the atmosphere proved just as strong as during evening service: relaxed, upbeat and bursting with personality. The playlist deserves a special mention, it's fun, nostalgic and perfectly judged. Hearing Teenage Kicks by The Undertones transported me straight back to my youth, adding a cheeky, nostalgic twist that matched the restaurant’s free-spirited vibe beautifully. Every course delivered its own “wow” moment: inventive, playful and superbly balanced. The wine pairings were spot on, and for teetotallers, the non-alcoholic cocktails were just as thoughtful and impressive. Unexpected flavour combinations had me wide eyed in appreciation throughout always surprising. Service is slick yet genuinely warm, with none of the stuffy formality you might expect from food of this calibre. The energy is bright, the welcome sincere, and the door magically opens on arrival! Gordon Jones himself is an absolute delight to interact with. Booking a table here isn’t just about having a meal, it’s signing up for a memorable taste adventure. You’ll leave sated, buzzing and happy, like your tastebuds have just been to a rave. Every course earns its own wow, and the soundtracks ties it all together for an unforgettable foodie experience.

My birthday tonight and had a very special meal with my wife. The food is simply magical and it always surprises! I'm not sure why Gordon doesn't have a Michelin star. The music whilst eating enhanced my evening as it's the stuff I listen to. A joy, a pleasure and a real talented chef. We shall be back! Special.

OMG. The best meal and the best experience ever for an amazing meal. The chef, Gordon Jones, is open, fun and super talented. The courses are ever changing and a surprise when you show up. Only after the meal is complete so you get a copy of the menu. It’s expensive but worth it.

Best restaurant in Bristol (that I've been to). Excellent service, Gordon was an amazing chef and so passionate about everything. The mushroom course would be my death row last meal!

This is literally the best restaurant we've ever been to. From the moment we walked in to be greeted by Gordon and staff by name, to our last goodbyes, we were treated impeccably. The ambiance was fantastic, the music and decor so fun and added to the over all experience. It was such a happy place! Lastly, the food was absolutely perfect! It was so creatively and beautifully plated and tasted even better. We literally savored every single bite! We are from the U.S. and I would plan a trip back to Bath, simply to have this experience again. Gordon is truly an artist and his team was dedicated, kind and so professional. Worth every penny and more.

We went here as a birthday treat. The set menu is a surprise 6 course taster menu and every dish was interesting delicious and wonderfully presented. I had the wine flight and my partner had the non alcoholic flight the pairing with the food worked really well. The taster menu changes all the time depending on what is in season what is available or what the chef’s are inspired to cook. It’s quite a small place about 20 covers and when we went at lunchtime . The pace of the dishes and the explanation of the food, especially the wine was great. Thanks for a lovely memorable experience.

A wonderful restaurant in Bath Menu Gordon Jones Restaurant is not a glitzy, big and noisy restaurant. It's away from the "in" spots but it gives you what you want - Great food, not outrageous prices, small place that is not noisy and you can have a good conversation while savoring the excellent food. You will not be disappointed!
