Menya Hyottoko in Yurakucho Station is a fantastic spot for an authentic ramen experience. It’s tiny—only around 8 seats—so you order from a vending machine, wait for a seat at the counter, and eat quickly to make room for the next person. It’s especially popular during the evening commute, and when I visited there was a very long line. Totally worth it if you’re after a quick, no-fuss meal.
The ramen was delicious, with a light but flavourful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. It was served incredibly hot—so hot I couldn’t finish it—but what I did eat was excellent. A great little find if you’re looking for something traditional and satisfying.
