Just a 5-minute walk from Meguro Station, Menya Sugou Bettei Miyabi was a great find. While the main Sugou shop in Shimbashi is always packed with long lines, I was able to walk right in here without waiting — a huge plus.
I ordered the Special Tsukemen, a seafood-based dipping ramen. The soup was rich, creamy, and deeply flavorful, with a pleasant yuzu aroma that really elevated the fish-based broth. The noodles were incredibly chewy — honestly some of the most mochi-like noodles I’ve ever had — and they clung perfectly to the soup.
Midway through, I added the two types of sansho pepper and a bit of apple vinegar from the table to change up the flavor, which kept every bite interesting until the end. To finish, they served a light dashi-based soup along with a spoonful of plum rice. Dipping the rice into the soup was a perfect, satisfying finale.
A ramen shop I’d definitely love to visit again.
