Meow Wolf Houston’s Cowboix Hevvven Is a Texas Cowboy-themed Dive Bar Set in the Afterlife | Eater Houston

"A multidisciplinary art-and-media company's fifth exhibition, slated to open this year in Houston’s Fifth Ward, promises an otherworldly, immersive show that blends interactive installations, surreal design, and existential themes. The project is positioned as a major, city-specific installment from an organization known for large-scale, psychedelic experiences that fuse futurism and narrative art—previous projects include a mystery house in Santa Fe, a surreal grocery-store environment in Las Vegas, a multi-world installation in Denver, and a recent Texas appearance in Grapevine. Details about specific installations and programming will be revealed in the coming weeks, and the exhibition will be paired with on-site hospitality and artist-driven activations to deepen the visitor experience." - Brittany Britto Garley

A Wild and Bizarre Experience – Highly Recommend! From the moment we pulled up and saw how massive the building was, I was thrilled to be there. Even though I was on a work trip, I made time to experience Meow Wolf in person, having only heard about it before in other cities. It absolutely lived up to the hype! A quick tip: I’d recommend going on a slower day if possible. At times, some of the rooms felt a little crowded as more people filtered in, which took away from the immersive experience. Now, a note for the business—please rethink the scavenger hunt inside the exhibit. People are there to experience the beauty, the colors, the textures, and the sounds, and it’s hard to do that when random strangers are constantly asking if you’ve seen any hidden tokens. It became distracting and took away from the magic of the space. If I had known what they were, I probably would have hidden them even better so they’d never be found! That aside, we had an incredible time. We spent about four hours exploring, and it was enough to see everything. The experience was so surreal that, at one point, I wasn’t sure if the people in the radio station were actors or actual guests! The bar was a great touch—it was nice to grab a cold drink while taking everything in. Just keep in mind that the space is tight, and service isn’t like a typical restaurant, so a little patience goes a long way. Parking was easy, with plenty of spaces available. However, it is a bit annoying that you have to go back to your car to grab your license plate number before paying, so plan for that before heading inside. All the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful, and they were easy to spot when we needed assistance. One of my favorite parts of the experience was the interactive music section. When multiple people participated and started pushing different elements, the entire room came to life in unexpected ways—definitely something to look for! And my final tip: do not forget to find the refrigerator. Oh, and one last thing—there’s a metal detector at the entrance, so no vape pens, knives, or weapons are allowed. If you need to take care of anything like that, do it before heading inside. Overall, Meow Wolf Houston was a bizarre, unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it!

This our second Meow Wolf experience, with their Omega Mart being our first. We had huge expectations for the exhibit, after years of wait, and it did not let us down. Not only is the art comparably as amazing, the location has much more "chilling" amenities. The bar and grill is cool and all, but the whole venue has so many sitting areas, and truly encourages one to take their time and enjoy the place. At the price of a movie ticket and concessions, it's well worth the experience. We jumped at Portal Pass opportunities, since we're local, and it's already paid off in ticket discounts, for our friends, and in gift shop purchases. I think it was around $140 for the year and, at $45 a visit, it's earned back in 3 visits. Parking is around $10, but they had the parking lot arms up on one of the days I visited. So, perhaps a free day or issues with the parking system. We've been on a weekday, and weekend. The corridors can be a little small. So, if your prone to claustrophobia, I would recommend a late-hour weekday. The entire staff is amazing. I've made friends with at least one per visit. Guest services and retail associates are always friendly and helpful. Shout out to Eduardo, Gabby, and Bethany! Y'all are great.

We enjoyed Meow Wolf Dallas and were excited to see Houston’s was a different experience. We went on a weekend over Christmas break; wasn’t too hard to get tickets or get in (short line). Really interesting concept, and the attention to detail in the rooms was unbelievable (down to tiny labels on items and some funny puns). Really well thought out and you could probably spend days in there and not see every detail! The only real con was how PACKED it was…we didn’t really do any of the scavenger hunt pieces due to the crowd size. It also was incredibly hot in some areas due to the unseasonably warm weather, large amount of people and probably heating being on where it shouldn’t have. Would love to come again during a less busy time (when school is in session perhaps) to explore more!

$50/person entry. This is a great experience and lots of fun. Plenty of great picture opportunities. The artwork, secret passage ways, and interactive works are great. No time limit, walk through the sections at your own pace. Make sure to pull on every handle, you never know when a secret pathway will come up. Even the gift shop at the end has nice apparel. Definitely a great date location, or a family outing. I found several areas with couches where you can sit and enjoy a moment of relaxation. Again the price is steep but we had a blast. Eventually you will walk into a bar/restaurant area which is a lot of fun. $11 for parking.

Google
Definitely an interesting place to visit. Getting there early will be key as they fill up fairly fast from our experience. If you've never been to a Meow Wolf then it will be even more awesome as the experience they give you is a one of a kind. If you've been to a different one then it is as awesome in my opinion. Still worth the trip though. The art is all over the place and very vibrant. Don't forget to push all the buttons, pull all the levers, open all the doors (not the emergency exits though), just touch all the things.

Google
My third Meow wolf experience. The Houston one is by far the largest I’ve been to. It’s huge and takes around 2 hours to go through. The whole time I was there, I did not bump into my friend who also went. The art is cool and interactive. It is pricey at $50 per person but I appreciate the installation and the art. Very cool experience. You have to pay for parking, I believe the first hour is free.

Meow Wolf is an absolute must-visit if you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind, immersive experience! From the moment you step inside, you’re transported to another world filled with mind-blowing art, interactive exhibits, and captivating storytelling. Every corner is packed with creativity and surprises, making it impossible not to get lost in the adventure. The attention to detail is incredible—there’s so much to see and explore that it feels like stepping into a dream. Whether you’re uncovering the narrative, marveling at the visuals, or simply wandering through the colorful spaces, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The staff is friendly and helpful, offering guidance when needed while letting you discover things at your own pace. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and they’ve clearly put a lot of care into making this a safe and enjoyable experience for all ages. I highly recommend setting aside plenty of time to explore fully because you’ll want to take it all in. Meow Wolf is a feast for the senses and a true testament to the power of creativity. I’ll definitely be back to see it again!

×× Warning ⚠️ there was a section that had strobe lights in it ×× I only remember it being a small area, unsure if there were warning signs present. This was a great visit!!! If you have been to any other Meow Wolf experiences (Dallas being the closest) this one was realllly interactive. Our favorite part were the musical trees. We had such a blast just making all kinds of rhythms and beats on them. And much much more to interact with. Some things to keep in mind IF you plan a visit. We went around 1pm. It was super crowded when we made it into the beginning of the Meow Wolf Journey. There's not a whole lot of room but we dispersed quickly and everyone started exploring. We did find computers scattered around but those seem to be popular and had people parked at them the whole time. Which really didn't hurt our time there. It still took us over 2 hours of going around checking everything out but it meant we problem missed out on a good chunk of the overall story. If you want to do focus on the story, recommend getting there early. There is a restaurant tucked into this one, which was an awesome surprise! It's small, seats a few groups but pretty cool nonetheless. For the most part loved loved loved it!!! Plan to visit with friends or on your own, either way you are sure to have a great time!!!

Yelp
The noise room was very loud, and made my wife and son run so fast lol. Other pieces of the exhibition was greatly appreciated and so wonderful to see displayed.

Yelp
This is my second meow wolf and this one was by far better than my first (grapevine). Meow wolf truly set the bar HIGH for immersive worlds of art and storylines. This space was in alignment to that. It is HUGE and each area had surprises and so much to take in across all your senses. Meow wolf allows its guests to be as participatory as they choose - with lots of additional side quests for people to leverage should they choose. Folks could EASILY spend upwards of 6 hours in this space if you are truly wanting to do everything or you can enjoy and return multiple times. We purchased anytime tickets and we arrived whenever and were able to get in within 20ish minutes of our arrival. We did overhear that tickets were sold out so if you're trying to go on a weekend, holiday or after school/work definitely purchase tickets well in advance. I'm not going to give much away in regard to the storyline or rooms but trust the art is top notch and so is the storyline. There is a full service bar-restaurant within the space and prices were as expected for food/drinks in a space such as this. And, to their credit, amazingly good. We had a brisket empanada and their ice cream cookie sandwich. Both were delicious. Adults can buy alcoholic drinks and drink them throughout the space. Honestly, it is amazing and I highly recommend. Paid parking is available but can easily fill up so ride share is def recommended. Don't miss out of visiting this space as much as you can!

Yelp
As a huge fan of Meow Wolf Denver, I was so excited to check out the new Houston location--and it did not disappoint! This immersive art experience is an absolute sensory overload in the best way possible, filled with vibrant colors, hidden pathways, and mind-bending installations that transport you into different galaxies. Pro tip: Download the Meow Wolf app before you go! It helps you track the different galaxies you visit, which is super helpful because there is so much to see. I made it to every area--including the super fun Cowboi's Hevven bar--but I know I could go again and still discover a million little details I missed the first time. You really have to touch, explore, and interact with everything to get the full experience. While Denver is still my favorite, Houston's Meow Wolf is a fantastic addition to the lineup and a fun way to spend a few hours getting lost in an otherworldly adventure. I'll definitely be back for another visit!

Yelp
So when it comes to meow wolf; I've kinda learned to try to go twice. Once just to have fun and enjoy exploring, make mental notes for the story line and then if you get to go back you can take more time to solve any mystery's in the story line. Our only previous meow wolf experience is with the Grapevine location which with my kiddo they could spend hours there based on the couple times they've gotten to go with parties and discount days they've gotten to go too. With this one he loved the radio station areas and spent a good deal of time in those areas. In the art exhibit areas he seemed to want to move though quicker than he normally does in Grapevine. It was a bit more crowded than we normally experience the other location though so I think crowd issues was a part of it for him. I like they have the cafe in the exhibit but as others have said it can make that area kind of awkward for folks trying to eat and those just trying to explore walking around them. Still a fun experience; that I would recommend if looking for something to do in Houston.

Yelp
A fun place to randomly explore, surreal and interactive. I've always wanted to go to omega mart, but haven't had the opportunity yet. Instead learned there was a meow wolf installation in Texas, so it became the last stop in our trek. It's a large building in an industrial complex. There's a large amount of murals on adjoining buildings, so there's signs of an art installation here. Coming in, you get a large arrow pointing into a security checkpoint, then a grand hallway with large arches and tons of color. There's lockers to rent and places to buy tickets, but the main attraction is a side hallway. You get dropped off into a staging area where the staff explain that you're entering into a choose your own adventure book. Look around, press buttons, flip switches, and explore to your hearts content. You enter a small office studio, which is not enough room for a big group. Then shortly coming out of that room you are transported to a surreal black light coral reef. The rooms become more surreal the more you wander. Each door leading to a new location with new lights, sounds, and buttons to press. One moment, your heading through a rock chasm with touch synths controlling lights, the next your in an underwater coral reef, then the next a room filled with cans, then into an alien arcade. It's surreal and weird but never offputtingly so. It's a sensory overload in the best of ways, and it's very much a hodgepodge of art styles that weirdly flows. We only spent a couple hours here, but it was an experience. The story and lore aspects didn't interest me, but there is an underlying game one can play while exploring the rooms. I opted not to play and to just enjoy the exploration aspect. Which I did enjoy quite much so. I didn't bother trying the food at the dive bar inside. Looked like standard concession stand food, so didn't bother. It's weird, but fun. Worth a look see, and feel free to play the game if you wish. But it's neat to explore

Yelp
The concept and the execution were super cool! So many rooms / surprises to explore. They really made the multiverse come to life. The place is huge and like a maze so you get lost wandering around and discovering new rooms. After 1.5 hours, we thought we had seen it all, then stumbled upon a whole new adventure we hadn't yet explored. The details are very intricate and thoughtful. Lots of fun surprises, both hidden / small scale and big. Cowboix Hevven was our favorite place.

Yelp
When people ask about my experience at Meow Wolf, I don't even know how to describe it. If you've ever been lost in an Ikea and are trying to find the exit, only to find yourself in another area of the store that isn't the exit, that's what it felt like. I love art and art installations, but this was sensory overload. There were so many people in there and I found myself just wanting to hurry up through the rooms so I could get the hell out of there. There were so many things to explore, but there were too many people and it just took away from the experience. I didn't know about the app, but even if I had, it wouldn't have mattered. As one of my friends who enjoys Meow Wolf put it, the story line wasn't cohesive and I completely agree. The employees gave us a story line at the beginning, encouraged us to push buttons and explore and then that was it. It didn't really make sense to me. The two things that I did enjoy were the DJ and the room with vinyl, cassettes, 8 tracks, and CDs. I am so glad we went on adults only night (held twice a month on Thursdays after 7 pm). There's no way I could have gone with children running around. They actually scanned IDs and turned people away who didn't have ID, even if they were clearly over 21. I've had multiple people tell me that this location is not as cool as the ones in Santa Fe and Denver. I don't know if I even want to go to any of the other locations. The only way I would consider returning to Radio Tave is if I didn't have to pay for it.

Yelp
Was super excited to get a Meow Wolf here in Houston to only be sort of thrilled after my first visit was Grapevine location. I love art installations, and there is no discredit to the amazement of the art produced by artists here but I felt the space was super confined and almost rushed you from fully enjoying them. A radio studio with multiple rooms would hit uncomfortable with just 4-5 bodies in it with only one way in and out. Leaving no time to fully experience, & solve hidden puzzles that were available. I felt a little more bamboozled finding less hidden "art" behind cabinets and doors that I had been spoiled with at the Real Unreal. The storyline seemed less intriguing to follow and honestly less incorporated into the exhibit (or I just totally missed it even with the app). Cowboix Hevvven, Texas dive bar, was probably my second favorite experience it operates as an otherworldly restaurant with limited seating. The details were awesome down to duct taped repairs. Normal patrons still parade through trying to experience the art it offers (Jukebox, pool shark...again crowd town overwhelmed). I can't fathom it at capacity of 60ish when 25 and I could barely turn around. There is a drink and "snacks" setup outside the bar with a much larger area with bar top tables and breathing room. I snagged a watermelon slushy for $8 and 3 empanadas for $15. Paid parking is really only way to go, 2ish hours is 12 bucks. I'm not sure we will return, my kids had the same vibe of being less wowed and enjoying Real Unreal experience more. Perhaps it was the flow, or some areas falling flat to my hyped expectations.

Yelp
Being a fan of the Meow Wolf in Vegas, I had to come by the Houston location to see what aw and mystery they'd bring to the new location. Mystery is putting it lightly and I'll try to avoid too many spoilers here because the best part of this experience is in the discovery. First off is this worth the price admission? Yes, if you are into a sense of aw and discovery without guidance. My party easily spent 4+ hours just searching around and I'm sure we didn't catch everything. I can tell though that they had repeat visits in mind, due to the catch of a prize if you find the 16 "brain beans". These certainly are not easy, and definitely has me tempted to try again with another group sometime. As far as the theme, certainly on par for the Meow Wolf of surreal but familiar. My personal favorite being the interdimensional bar "Cowboix Hevvven" (not a typo). I do wish the theme though did flow as smoothly as other locations like their vegas theme, as things seem to go from 0 to 100 almost instantly, but with that said the journey itself is still quite fun and there's plenty to explore. Amazing experience overall and easily will come back on another theme'd night or with a group of friends.

Yelp
Meow Wolf's newest installation, Radio Tave, is absolutely incredible! My immersive experience has been expanded in ways I didn't think possible, and this might just be their best installation yet. Every corner is filled with jaw-dropping art, mind-bending creativity, and a sense of wonder that pulls you right into the story. I spent hours exploring and still felt like there was more to uncover. The attention to detail is phenomenal, and the interactive elements kept me engaged the entire time. Don't miss the not-so-hidden Cowboix Hevvven bar it's the perfect spot to grab a drink or two and soak in the vibe. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience that will blow your mind, Radio Tave is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Meow Wolf has its cult following and has made its mark in Texas. With both Dallas and Houston now with sites that bring in a crowd of people, I was able to stop in on Saturday Thanksgiving weekend and gosh, was it packed. Located by the warehouse district where St Arnold's brewery is near, it's a little daunting driving in - so be weary of travelers with their luggage in tow. I couldn't tell if parking cost money, but we somehow came in and left without paying, the blaring HPD sirens of deterring crime incessantly blasting. Compared to that of the Dallas one which is in a safe Subaru Grapevine Mall lol - meh. My crowd agreed this is still fun, but as we did Dallas first, all came to the conclusion it's a straight up copy paste layout to that of the DFW one, minus the slide/crawling path. We will say the snacks and Cowboy Heavvn were very fun spaces, but the crowds were way too intense to truly enjoy exploring. I wish they'd just enforce true crowd/ticket control but I suppose when we paid for the VIP anytime ticket, everyone else felt the same lol. Still, very fun to kill several hours and if you've never done Meow Wolf, provides the same recipe of whimsy meets eclectic! However this is one and done for us.

Yelp
I was more than excited when I found out Meow Wolf's newest installation was going to be in Houston. My friends and I have planned trips centered around visiting a Meow Wolf in Las Vegas, Denver and Grapevine. I have yet to visit the original location in Sante Fe. It's hard to explain Meow Wolf. First off, there are no cats nor are there any wolves. Sorry you feline and canine lovers! They label themselves as interactive art museums. That is definitely the best way to describe it. This location is located in Fifth Ward, right outside of downtown. All their locations are massive. This one is located in what looks like a warehouse. The physical address is on Lyons but the parking lot is towards the back of the building. Parking is free the first hour and 5 bucks an hour after. When we came, the pay before you leave kiosks were not working and we were let out for free. Walk ins are welcome, but advance purchase is highly recommended. I have yet to go to a Meow Wolf where it wasn't steadily busy. This place is very organized and is good about letting waves of groups in at certain times as to avoid congestion inside. The employees I encountered were very nice and helpful. One thing about this location as opposed to other locations is that I did not see alot of employees inside. Part of the fun at other locations I have been to was characters running around. They almost look like guests but they are part of the story as well. So yeah, this place is an interactive, immersive art museum. I don't know the exact number, but many artists contribute to the magic of this place. Each location is unique yet I feel like they connect in a way too. Radio Tave is a radio station and a portal opens up to a multiverse. There is nothing off limits. There's hidden doors, buttons and dials, and room and after rooms to explore. We spent hours here and I don't think I even scratched the surface. I highly recommend getting chromadepth glasses to see things pop out at you. Download the Meow Wolf app as well. It connects to the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth there and as you walk around, the app will let you know details. Look for hidden QR codes and clues to follow a story line as well. I felt the app knew I was hungry and thirsty and even suggested finding the hidden honky tonk speakeasy or snack bar. The snack bar is randomly situated on the first floor, not hidden but off in a corner. They have snacks and non alcoholic beverages. Follow your nose to find it. There is also a hidden bar called Cowboix Hevvven. It's like a dive bar in another planet. There's random characters around the bar, a stage if you want to break into song, a pool table and a jukebox. Find the code near the jukebox for a nice surprise. They serve divey food like bologna sandwiches and good cocktails as well. We tried both and they were delicious. As you can see, I love all the Meow Wolfs. This is definitely a fun destination for all ages and I highly recommend it. I turned my one day ticket into a yearly pass so I can really take the time and see everything this place has!

Yelp
Meow wolf is an experience. We previously checked out the Vegas location and was just as impressed with the Houston location. LOVED that they infused Houston culture into the art. You can spend hours at meow wolf. Lots to read, discover, and interact with. I visited midweek at 6pm. We stayed until closing at 8pm. Be careful of the time slot that you reserve. My in laws went on a Friday night and they had a totally different experience because it was too packed. The prices are also increased on more popular days/times.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to be one of the first to see Houston's Meow Wolf during their preview week. If you have been lucky enough to visit one of the current six locations around the country , then you GET IT! If you have never been to a Meow Wolf, I almost don't want to spoil it. But then what do I write a review about? Each location has a theme, I have only been to the one in Sante Fe (the original - and before any of the others were built). That location is the only one I have to compare it too. However all are a bit different, so you can't really compare and you are in for an experience no matter which one you go to. Before I start, I want to thank the countless artists that contributed to the Houston location (my Hometown). You knocked it out of the ballpark! You are all so talented and I can't even imagine the work that went on to construct this insane experience. Hats off to you! To start off, this location is based around a "Radio Station" that has been 'taken over' if you will, to a portal of its own. You bounce from room to room, not knowing where the portal will take you next. Ugh, I really don't want to give much away. But, I will say, like the original, it has an entertainment space, a small arcade, and also has a restaurant, which serves alcohol. You cannot bring outside food inside, so not to worry if you get hungry. Meow Wolf is also conveniently located across from the St. Arnolds Brewery. Meow Wolf is totally family friendly, I brought my 2 1/2 year old and he had a fantastic time. You can spend hours upon hours in this place. You can always find a room with chairs or couches to rest your feet for a bit. Or just chill and embrace the ambiance of whatever room you are in. There are always staff members around if you get lost (because you will - but that's the fun) or need directions to the restroom or exit. Children 3 and under are free. You can purchase day passes or annual passes. Whatever you choose, you don't want to miss this! Prepare your imagination for anything once you enter. TOUCH EVERYTHING. And enjoy life at its fullest! Last tips, go online and reserve a time slot, check the website for items you can and can't bring in, no strollers, no water - but I believe you can bring a refillable bottle - double check. And HAVE FUN!! Houston, how did we get so lucky!??

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND... THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME. I'm not sure how to really explain it. It's better to not know much when you go. The visuals were amazing. This is every kids dream. So many place you go and you tell your kids not to touch things. But here you get to touch everything. They encourage touching everything and exploring everywhere. No way you can see everything on the first trip. MUST GO IN HOUSTON!!

Yelp
TIP: Arrive at least 30 mins ahead of your time. The line to get in is pretty lengthy, even if you arrive at your specified slot. Visited with my coworkers and had a fantastic time :D This was one of my favorite stops in Houston for sure. Every door revealed a new surprise, pulling you further and further into the labyrinth-- or even back to where you started, right when you think you've traversed too far. So many tactile, absurd pieces. We somehow stumbled upon the hidden bar immediately (which had a photo booth!!! $5 for two prints). Some of my favorite parts were the flyers/posters contributing some backstory, and the music-related structures. If you arrive in a group, stick together otherwise it's nearly impossible to find each other again. I only downloaded the app near the end as I was curious what the storyline was-- should have done it way earlier. Wish we had more time! That being said, I found out from the gift shop cashier that a few of the bluetooth features were already broken :-/ I'm sure the team is still working out the kinks with how new the installation is. Having been to Omega Mart in Vegas, I will say that Radio Tave is a little less cohesive and interactive. And no character staff running around giving hints. Some rooms are nearly empty and less lore-related. Still, definitely appreciate the creativity and love put into crafting each space! And from what it sounds like, they're still building it out-- I'll definitely be back to see what they come up with!

Yelp
Meow Wolf is an absolute must-visit if you're looking for a one-of-a-kind, immersive experience! From the moment you step inside, you're transported to another world filled with mind-blowing art, interactive exhibits, and captivating storytelling. Every corner is packed with creativity and surprises, making it impossible not to get lost in the adventure. The attention to detail is incredible--there's so much to see and explore that it feels like stepping into a dream. Whether you're uncovering the narrative, marveling at the visuals, or simply wandering through the colorful spaces, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The staff is friendly and helpful, offering guidance when needed while letting you discover things at your own pace. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and they've clearly put a lot of care into making this a safe and enjoyable experience for all ages. I highly recommend setting aside plenty of time to explore fully because you'll want to take it all in. Meow Wolf is a feast for the senses and a true testament to the power of creativity. I'll definitely be back to see it again!

Yelp
We first visited Meow Wolf in Denver and absolutely loved it so we were excited to find out one was coming to Houston. Of course this means we couldn't help but compare the locations. Denver is our favorite but Houston was great and I'd still recommend it. Everything was well designed, lots of interactive pieces, fun hidden passage ways, and just a lot to explore. The radio station area was always crowded while we were there so we didn't get to hang out in that area much at all. It seemed a lot of people really took their time when interacting with areas which made it hard for us to fully try out everything. This could also be because it just opened. It was still fun to explore and it's all very impressive. This is a great place to get a lot of cool pictures as well. Would definitely recommend and make sure you have a few hours because it takes time to get through everything.

Yelp
Wow, I'm blown away! You know you're witnessing a beautiful work of art when you start thinking about how much time must have been spent constructing this facility. I'm a big fan of trippy, chaotic visuals, and Meow Wolf somehow read my mind. I've been to several colorful exhibits such as Seismique on Highway 6 and Artechouse in NYC, but none of them bear any similarity to my experience today. This exhibit is room after room of unrelated surreal experiences with INSANE attention to detail. And to think that more rooms are in construction as we speak... I keep wondering where the founders of this place must have received their inspiration from. After 2.5 hours of roaming in awe, I have concluded that they must have had untreated ADHD and math teachers that scolded them for constantly daydreaming in class. I am only half joking. In addition to amazing visuals, interaction is the name of the game. When you first start your exhibit, a guide briefly lets you know that practically everything is open for exploration -- opening doors, pressing buttons, hitting drums, you name it. Although I decided not to participate, they also have a downloadable app that tracks your location as you walk through the exhibit and notifies you of hints to discovering secrets. You can also find a restaurant and bar somewhere in the maze of rooms. They have a menu of cool snacks and drinks to choose from. Out of respect for Meow Wolf and your first-time experience, I've only uploaded a handful of the cool exhibit photos, but trust me, there is much more to see. Lastly, we have to talk about parking because I almost wanted to take away a star for it. Parking is only free if you stay less than an hour, but I guarantee you that you'll need longer than that. It's $5/hour (tax not included) and rounds up to the nearest hour, so try to carpool.

Yelp
Radio Tave Meow Wolf greatly exceeded all expectations! I honestly didn't know exactly what to expect because it was my first time going to a Meow Wolf, but based on what I have heard from other locations, I knew it was going to be out of this world. I ended up getting the "portal pass" aka season pass because it was on sale before their grand opening. I figured I'd end up coming here more than once with friends, family, dates, etc. The season pass is financially worth it if you plan on coming here at least twice in a year. You also get discounts on food, drinks, and merch. I don't want to give too much information away about the inside, but just expect the unexpected. You're encouraged to touch and see everything possible. There's literally an endless amount of things to find here with hidden clues throughout the different works of art. I recommend getting the app on your phone whenever visiting, it helps you keep track of the areas you've visited and have yet to find. It also gives you some background information on each area. This place is very kid friendly btw so no worries on that end. While there were a lot of kids, adults of all ages were enjoying this place also. There's a hidden dive bar type restaurant hidden within and they have a full bar available. There's also a smaller food stall that sells beer and alcoholic slushies. There's plenty of parking available, and if you need to step out of the immersive exhibit, be sure to get your hand stamped so they allow you to reenter. Overall, Meow Wolf is a great addition for "things to do" lists in Houston. We literally spent hours here and still didn't find everything. There's specifically 2 areas that are harder to find than others, but you'll have to go for yourself to check it out. Thankfully, despite how busy they are, they are very organized and efficient with their ticket/entry times. Enjoy!

Yelp
If you're looking for something fun to do, that will occupy lots of your time and keep you in a fit of fun, wonderment, amazement and excitement, Meow Wolf is the place for you! I'd been to the one in Vegas before so I knew that I'd have a grand time here and especially coming with a group of friends that had experienced other locations as well!! We spent a couple of hours going throughout all the mazes of rooms and fortunately had some friends that knew a bit more of the educational side of how some of these things works. I felt like a little kid coming in here getting to interactive with so many things. From hitting panels on the wall for a musical light show, to banging out some beats in the forest, to jazzing it up in the radio station dj booth, this place just continues to keep you enthralled! The one thing I loved the most was the cool little hidden bar Cowboix Hevven. Nestled away somewhere in the maze that is Meow Wolf, this cool joint offers up some specialty drinks, delicious bites, and some cool bartenders! There's a stage you can pop on to belt out some tunes, or try your hand at a game of pool, take some photos in the booth or bang it out to a rock n roll rave party! This is a place I'd go to just to hang out for HH! All in all, 10/10 experience for me and excited to go back and see what I missed my first time in!

Yelp
We attended the soft opening of the new Meow Wolf installation in Houston and has a great time. This is the 4th Meow Wolf location we have been to, and while it was still a little rough around the edges relative to Santa Fe, Grapevine and Lad Vegas, it did not dissapoint. Located just north of downtown and acrosshe street from the St. Arnold's breweryhere is plenty of parking on site. The radio station theme is very well executed and the art in imaginiative and immersive. Really a lot of fun and we'll be going back soon to see how it lookswith all the finishing touches.

Yelp
This is the second Meow Wolf I've visited (the first was in Grapevine), and Houston's location blew it all away! The installations are massive, mesmerizing, and incredibly immersive like stepping into another world. Each room feels more surreal than the last, and I loved uncovering hidden nooks and story elements. If you're looking for an unforgettable art experience, Meow Wolf Houston is a must-see!

Yelp
I mean it ain't for me. It's eclectic, it's stimulating (sometimes over). I wouldn't go back but there's a demographic that it's their jam and will purchase season passes. The bar, they advertise is a joke, it's essentially the equivalent of a VFW in a small town. Beer, low shelf spirits, and mixers served in a plastic cup. They have some empanadas to snack on as well, those are pretty tasty. Experience it at least once, it's a great value if you ever catch it on a Groupon. Also, bring hand sanitizer with you, a ton of door handles that you have to open and touching everything is encouraged. This is a major spreader event here

Yelp
Had a blast! it's felt smaller than the one in Dallas but we still managed to enjoy our time there. I really liked the hidden bar! The staff was super nice and drinks were yummy!

Yelp
This location entrance takes a minute to find when arriving with Uber. The actual front entrance is behind a fence, so you have to walk around the building to get in. If you park in the back (1st hour free and then $5 per house after), it is an easy walk to get to the entrance. Once you pass through security, there is a gift shop and your entrance. They were letting you check up to 10 minutes before your time entry. If you had a later timed entry then you stood in a different line until your time got closer. I downloaded the app which helped mark all the spaces I visited and even going to several still missed 2 rooms. It is a fun exhibit to check out, one thing I loved about Dallas was crawling through and sliding down stuff and I didn't find that as much as this one. Still lots of fun and glad we checkered it.

Yelp
It's really hard to explain Meow Wolf but you absolutely need to go! It's an immersive performance art museum where nothing is as it seems. We stayed and looked around for about an hour and a half but could have easily stayed for hours. What an absolutely amazing, bizarre, cool place with a super fun gift shop! I recommend going as early as possible, it gets crowded.

Yelp
Your kids and/or your inner kid is in for a treat! Meow Wolf is an expansive facility hosting countless artists creating an immersive space. The out of the world experience encourages you to explore and unlock your inquisitiveness toward all objects and spaces. There is no guidebook on building the perfect experience at Meow Wolf, but as long as you go in with an open mind and truly set out to seek the different ways of seeing things, then you're sure to have fun! I spent around 2.5 hours exploring with some friends, and I still feel that I only scratched the surface. I will definitely be returning again in the future when they host concert events or on a weekday to continue exploring with a smaller crowd. The reason I provided a four star rating instead of five is because I feel there is still room for improvement: - As a facility that encourages exploring hands-on, I would have liked to see more hand sanitizing stations to prevent spread of germs. - Given that the average experience could take a few hours, I wish the parking rates were also more reasonable. I would suggest capping the parking fee at $15 for the day instead of $5 per hour without limit. Pro tip #1: if you'd like to be one of the first to experience Meow Wolf without the crowd, highly recommend going on a weekday. Pro tip #2: if you plan on visiting multiple times with different groups, there is an annual pass available for less than double of the usual ticket price. Pro tip #3: if for some reason you need to leave to your car temporarily after scanning your ticket, there is a way for the security to recognize you by providing a stamp on your hand.

Yelp
Awesome interactive art museum experience! It might take more than 1 trip here, as there are so many different paths you can go, and so many interactive options each step of the way. The lot is paid, by time. This is kid friendly and you can bring strollers. It's smaller than the one in Denver but larger than the one in Santa Fe.

Yelp
It's not Vegas, but this was a fun experience! Definitely recommend going to the Vegas one next if you like it. Idk how to describe this place other than an interactive museum geared towards adults who want to feel like kids again. Really unique and I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Wow what an amazing experience! I've never been to any of the Meow Wolf locations so this was our first experience. I want sure what to expect but it was definitely a fun afternoon full of surprises! I don't want to give a too detailed review because I want others to experience it for themselves. However a few things made this short of a 5 star experience. They advertise the general admission tickets for $40 but it's actually $49 The area that sells the refreshments and empanadas had very few seating options I think there were 4 small tables and 3 small benches. If you're going to sell food and drinks have enough seating/tables especially for us guests who have kids. (There is a room with a restaurant and bar) It would be helpful if the Meow Wolf app had a map/guide. I know part of the experience is finding all the hidden rooms, however going in circles after awhile gets frustrating. Definitely worth visiting it was a great experience!

Yelp
My grandson loved it. It's a great place for the little ones. It's quiet pricey and you have to pay for parking.

Yelp
Visited with our family on vacation and was seeking something "different" - we found it! Two adults, two kids (7 y.o. twin boys), we all enjoyed ourselves. Eaxh room is so unique, very interactive, and fun. There is a small bar with food too, we grabbed a bite and some drinks. The food is bar food, but good. Definitely recommended!

Yelp
Took us about two hours to really visit every room and experience all the art and installations. The hidden bar was my favorite part about Meow Wolf. Really felt like we were transported to another world. Can't wait to take kids to experience the different rooms of Meow Wolf.

Yelp
So far, I've been to all Meow Wolf locations except Vegas (will do this year). They're all unique and fun. I came here with a friend and her son who is about 10 and we all had a great time. There are things to touch, see, hear, etc everywhere - and each different angle gives a different perspective. This is the first MW that has an actual restaurant inside. It's just burgers, hot dogs & frito pie but they do have a vegan frito pie option and it's really good. We were here for about 3-4 hours and I'm pretty sure we saw everything. I've never used the app to follow the story at any MW and it's not necessary that you do - you can still have a great time without it. The app can also help you check off all of the different areas to make sure you've seen everything. As many people that were there, it didn't seem overly crowded - it was noticeably full but not elbows to a**holes full. Just make sure you keep an eye on any younger ones because it's easy to get separated and turned around. Merch store is cool & has different items than the other locations (they each have different stuff).

Yelp
This place was pretty cool I went with my friends on a Monday so no crowds at all, although in some areas it smelled funky it was such a cool place it just didn't seem to cleanly over all it was pretty chill !

Yelp
This was my first time at any Meow Wolf and it was exactly what I expected which was chaos in a good way. My two year old loved it. It was like stimulation overload at its finest but also piqued everyone's level of interest because we had no idea what was going on or where we were. You still have to pay for parking which is free for the first 20 minutes and then $5 an hour after and then if you stay longer for even a little bit it calculates those few minutes so be prepared. It used the license plate recognition system so you don't really have a choice. The exhibit is five stars but the gift shop didn't have postcards-said they weren't in yet. What a shame. That's honestly how found out about Meow Wolf even existing in the first place because my friends had sent me postcards from the one in Denver.

Yelp
This is my third Meow Wolf location so far and boy was this place a trip. I really enjoyed the portals in this one. It really felt like a maze. One door would take us back to a hallway we were already in. While another would bring us to a completely different place. We had to do a lot of back tracking to find areas we never seen before. Even finding the exit was difficult here. It was super fun and enjoyable and I suggest everyone visit this place at least once.

Yelp
Overpriced, Super Short, Lower Quality. Coming from the Meow Wolf in Dallas being my first experience of course I had high hopes for this location! When you hear a company is expanding their product you want the content to be just as plentiful and well executed as the original location Unfortunately that was not the case for this Houston location. The amount of rooms were not even near as much as you'd expect, the locations a lot smaller, and the overall experience wasn't near as satisfactory. Which when they charge as much as they do you'd expect it to be worth it. Overall it just wasn't the best.

Yelp
Meow wolf is definitely a place to check out atleast once and here's why: this is a place you could easily spend hours in. The exhibits are so fun and mesmerizing! I maybe would not bring young kids here because it's far to easy to get lost or separated. It would worry me with the large crowds and hidden doors that someone getting lost could be a big concern. For my adults: this place is soooo awesome. It is expensive but so worth it. The only thing I wish they had is more interactive items like slides or bouncy houses or anything to do other than just look. There are buttons in a few of the rooms but I think it would be more fun with hidden tunnels or fun little slides.

Yelp
The staff were very friendly and super inviting to experience the entire adventure as it should be enjoyed. The vibes and the Houston references are very refreshing and dope! I recommend visiting with enough time as it took us two hours just to learn the layout!

Yelp
This place is really cool. For the first hour it truly feels like you are discovering a new world each time you open a new door. It's a sensory overload and weird and disorienting. The art is really cool--you will open a trunk of a car and see artwork embedded in the engine or peer through cracks in a wall and see a microscopic diorama. Then we got to the point where we wanted to solve the mysteries and find the deeper meaning behind the exhibit. We tried to find the "challenges" (I'm using the incorrect word) that popped up on the app. Some of these we were able to "solve" but we never got a reward/useful information. Or if we did, it was really unclear how to use it. Apparently there are two rooms that are harder to find (and sure enough there were two challenges that were left masked on the app). We didn't have the patience to wait and find them and left after two hours. I will say one good thing was that timed entry made it so that the exhibit did not feel overcrowded. We had to wait to play a few of the games but I never felt like there were so many people that it ruined the experience. One last thing--the glasses were cool for 1 of the hallways; otherwise they were more of a burden to keep holding onto. Overall this would be a cool place to take a family or get lost in just to enjoy the artwork. If you're a more task-oriented person, you will find this place frustrating. I think the cost is a bit steep (to add insult to injury they make you pay for parking) and probably wouldn't see an exhibit in another city.

Yelp
Meow Wolf Radio Tave was so fun to explore with my family. We visited the original location in Santa Fe in 2017 and had an idea of what to expect. This place was beyond my expectations with the size and always having something interesting right around the corner. The restaurant inside was so fun and definitely elevated the experience. I love how Meow Wolf preserves original thought and experiences through a shared immersive space. All ages can enjoy!

Bre D.

Yelp
It's hard to explain how Absolutely Fantastic Meowwolf is. We've been to all 5 and Radio Tave did not disappoint. My husband and I went with 2 of our adults kids and 2 grandkids (4yrs, 6 yrs who has autism). The grown kids had as much fun as the Littles. You could spend all day looking at everything in every area. The attention to detail is just amazing. Everyone should experience a Meowwolf!

Yelp
The BEST Meow Wolf. Huge, interactive with incredible art. The theme is brilliant and customer service is excellent. We love it so much that we bought the season pass. Check out my photo for the hidden bar menu.

Yelp
If you're looking for something to do in Houston consider Meow Wolf! What a totally awesome experience, it is truly indescribable and one of those "you have to be there to see it" type of things. I took my family here we paid $174.00 with an added coupon. It was a bit pricey but you can re-enter if needed. Parking was a breeze you do have to pay hourly I believe it's $5 if I recall. I didn't pay anything. I arrived and got into a room with a group of people we were given a clue to a refrigerator door and there is where we would embark on our journey through art installed walls. The art was amazing the displays, and the homage paid to the city of houston. I recommend this place for any age group, everything is interactive there are hidden doors and passage ways. I have posted some pics below if you have a moment check them out. The staff were also very friendly, nice, and helpful. The environment was very clean as well. Forgot to mention there is also a very cool bar inside! A must see

Yelp
This was my third meow wolf location to visit/experience. Out of Vegas-Omega Mart, the real unreal in Grapevine, and now Radio Tave Houston, Grapevine would be my favorite, and Radio Tave at this point is last on the list. OF COURSE every location is truly amazing and I'd never turn my nose up at any of them. I liked the story with Radio Tave, I felt like I could follow it a bit more than Vegas omega Mart, so that was definitely a plus. The hidden bar/restaurant in the portal is a new touch I hadn't experienced before, so that was pretty cool. The drinks were pretty good too! Try the peanut butter and jelly manhattan! Just like the others, lots of fun interactive things to do. What I didn't like- having to pay to park sucks, there were SEVERAL doors throughout the experience that were locked, which was weird and I'm hoping maybe they are still working on more behind those locked doors to be opened up to us all later. The location felt a bit smaller than the other two I've noted. And lastly, my biggest complaint -there were NOT enough portal doors to experience....aside from maybe two or three unique entries, compared to other meow wolfs, I felt Houston has been shorted on this. overall though, we still had a great time, I look forward to going back in a few months maybe when it's a little less busy (time choice was my fault) and also getting to hit all locations meow wolf has to offer. I'm truly pleased that they have chosen Houston for more growth of this amazing experience!

Yelp
The employee who let us in did not do the orientation we were supposed to re eave ( we didn't know until the end) and we just wandered around not sure what we were looking for. Even with the app, the lack of direction made the installation just basically some interesting things to look at.

Yelp
It's a cyclical undirected Ikea of painted rooms and TV screens. Maybe you have to be high to enjoy it, but if I'm high I can enjoy a roll of aluminum foil.
